Taiwanese Croissant Shop Hazukido Coming to Montreal’s Shaughnessy Village | Eater Montreal

"Inspired by the leisurely tradition of sobremesa, this tapas and wine bar from the same group behind H4C par Dany Bolduc focuses on Spanish wines, cheeses, and charcuterie alongside an extensive tapas menu that ranges from grilled calamari and patatas bravas to more inventive plates like lardo-wrapped razor clams, mackerel confit in chorizo oil, and shiitake mushrooms with a pea and basil butter; photos show a room with white painted brick, brown leather booths, and greenery." - Valerie Silva

Food. Taste excellent. Portion - chicken good, fish dish needed more of the squash or veg or a small salad. Service. Excellent. Very attentive, knowledgeable, on top of the order without any errors and very available. Atmosphere. Very cosy, warm, a great place for casual as well as a first date and events. Overall. Definitely would return a third time. Overall the table of 4 were all satisfied for the most part with the food. The chicken was a little over cooked and a tad too charred and too dry. I have eaten here before and that time them chicken was juicy and not charred. So this is a matter of quality control or better attention to detail given we went early and it was not packed with customers to cause the kitchen to rush. The potatoes were slightly underdone and lacked the previous smoother less toothy texture as well as not as well coated with the seasoning but dipping it in a sauce made it a little better. The fish was delish and cooked perfectly as well as seasoned. The issue here is that for the price there should have been significantly more of the veg and starch as it left the individual still hungry - or perhaps also including the small house salad would do the trick. House salad was excellent. Perfectly dressed, fresh, dressing was balanced and the sweet pickled onions were some of the best I have ever tasted and totally amped up the salad. The dessert was excellent and a must have as it’s totally worth the calories with the home made ice cream and caramel sauce with warmed nata tarts. A note for next time, I would advise the server to serve the salad as the first course and NOT bring the main dishes until after the salads have been cleared. We were not yet a quarter the way through the salad when the meals came. So all in all a nice experience. Another point is the beer selection - they do not have any on tap and only had 4 beers. The one we tried was the IPA Hazy beer which was very nice. The wine from Portugal was also nice and light by the glass. A somewhat small pour, but nice.

Really nice restaurant - well decorated, music not too loud, multilevel so gives a nice sense of dimension to the place. menu is not HUGE but everything looks good. we were a group of 6 and everyone ate well. lovely cocktails. waitress was very helpful and knew menu well. food was delicious. especially if you like fish/seafood.

We celebrated my hubby’s birthday, ambiance very authentic and cozy. Staff very friendly, we shared the octopus for appetizer which was perfectly grilled. Main meals were delicious and the peach cobbler to die for. We recommend this Portuguese restaurant!

The waitstaff were very hardworking, but unfortunately that didn’t make up for the slow service. The food also didn’t live up to the price. The roasted chicken was dry and plain — without any sauce, it was hard to eat. The gnocchi was $40 for a small portion. The steak was actually quite good, much better than the other two mains. The asparagus salad was fresh, and the grilled octopus was tender but lacked flavor. Burrata was good as well. However, my wait time was significantly longer than the time I spent eating, even though the restaurant was busy but not full.

Absolutely loved my experience at Restaurant Amalia! From the moment I stepped inside, I was immediately impressed by the chic, yet cozy atmosphere. The interior strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and inviting warmth, making it a fantastic spot for both a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, which made the entire dining experience feel even more special. And the food... wow! Every dish was a masterpiece, but I have to say, the scallop ceviche was my personal favorite. It was absolutely stunning—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I highly recommend giving it a try when you visit!

I went to celebrate someone’s birthday and it was a very nice restaurant. They barely had any wine options as most of them were out of stock which was a bit unfortunate. It had a nice ambiance, dimmed lights and cozy intimate feel to it. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, the platter for 2 for main course and the pastel de nata with ice cream for dessert. The calamari were okay but the sauce was good. The platter had chicken, octopus, steak, chorizo and shrimps. My favourite was the steak, it was extremely well cooked and the sauce was delicious. It was accompanied by fries and a salad, the fries were good but the salad was okay. The pastel de nata was delicious but I could’ve passed on the ice cream. Overall satisfied with the meal and the experience. Slightly on the pricier side, was about 150$/person with taxes and tip.

It was an excellent evening, went for an “end of year dinner” with my office staff. The vibes and ambiance were excellent, easy to have conversations. Staff were friendly and accommodating, provided suggestions as well. All, the appetizers made to perfection shared amongst 4 people. And as a main the “Paella” gives you some of everything and easy to share amongst 2. Had to end the night with their dessert of the night.

It has been so long since I went to a restaurant that I LOVE all of the dishes I order. This restaurant did that for me. The food was beyond amazing, I love the vibe, very low-key, very private. I ate at this restaurant yesterday and had a dream about it when I went to sleep. That’s how good it is! The price is reasonable, highly recommended!
