Good selection and great customer assistance in this small shop on the edge of downtown Takoma Park. There is limited customer parking in the back of the shop, but it fills up quickly so it's only available to people actually shopping in Amano. When I entered, I was greeted by both Sarah and Imani (hope I spelled their names correctly), but then they left me to look around. When I was ready for assistance and told them specifically what I was looking for, they had great ideas. These two women really know their stock, how to mix & match from different collections, and how different items fit different bodies. I especially appreciated that at no time was there any pressure to buy anything. Their prices are reasonable, and the clothes appear to be American- and/or sustainably-made.
I bought two pair of summer-weight capri leggings (one size really does fit all!), a dress, and two lightweight shirts/tops that will also pair nicely with my other two summer dresses, giving me 9 ways to wear them.
Their shoe & sandal collection is extensive, as is their costume jewelry (I especially liked the variety of watches they carry).
When I was through shopping and wanted to find a place to eat, they suggested the public parking lot just a couple of minutes away (it's free for the first hour & $3 for each hour thereafter; pay with credit card only). They also suggested some good places to eat (I chose Republic, and had some of the best calamari ever).
Amano is a great place to shop!
