The Best Tacos in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This Mexican mainstay is also a top spot for tacos — there’s much more to this familial spot than just those filled tortillas, but if that’s what you’re looking for, they do chorizo, potato, cactus, and more." - Eater Staff

The Best Restaurants in NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace) | Eater Montreal

"A low-key Monkland Village favourite serving home-style Mexican dishes in an unassuming environment. You can’t go wrong with red or green chilaquiles, or a rich mole poblano with chicken." - Erik Leijon

Found this place randomly walking on Monkland and it was amazing. It's a family run mexican restaurant that has really authentic foods. We ordered the guacamole with homemade chips, esquites and tamales. Everything was super flavorful and seasoned well. The portions are generous and the dishes are cooked well. You can tell they know what they are doing for sure. The owners are also very friendly and explained the menu thoroughly. If you like authentic mexican food and rich flavours, definitely visit them.

Great experience. We visited because the decor caught our eye when we were walking by. Service team was helpful and attentive. We felt the portions were generous and I liked the food. I recommend the ceviche!

I went with a friend around 6pm on a Friday. I recommend getting there early because it’s gets very busy. By the time we left there was a line of people waiting for a table. The servers were great but since they were so slammed it did take them a while to come back around to us and then get us the bill. We ordered the guacamole and the beef and pork tacos. Food was great. We spent around $30 each.

Mafer was our server and she was so amazing! So quick to grab us extra chips and salsa. The atmosphere was superb and the food was phenomenal - very carefully made and served.

Great local authentic Mexican restaurant. I went for a quick lunch and really enjoyed it. Service was very fast, I had a mini guacamole and birria tacos. Guac' was creamy and flavourful, I just wish it had a bit more lime in it for acidity. The birria tacos were excellent, they compared well to the ones I had in Mexico. Tender meat that falls appart served with a delicious consommé to dip them in.Definitely recommend. The decor is also really nice, they kept some elements of the previous restaurant (also Mexican) but did a good job with the colours and paintings.

We ordered guacamole as an appetizer and it came with homemade tortilla chips and was amazing. My wife ordered the cactus tacos and I ordered tacos Al Pastor. We both agreed it's the best Mexican food in Montreal. Their new location on Monkland is cheerful and uplifting. The staff is pleasant and genuinely concerned about your dining experience. For a special treat, try their Hibiscus punch - very unique and pairs well with traditional Mexican cuisine.

Went here with family and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and welcoming, perfect for a meal out. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and efficient, and even gave us great meal recommendations. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Would definitely go back! Highly recommend!

The food was good, a bit small compared to other authentic Mexican restaurants we usually frequent. The service was good but the only 2 servers were slammed on a sat night. The restaurant itself is a bit small and so their menu but the overall experience was good. The seasoning was perfect.
