Amarea Ristorante Romolo Mare

An amazing treasure located a short day trip from Monaco. Amarea prepared fresh from the sea fish for us in a beach front, family friendly restaurant. The exceptional quality of the food makes it white table cloth appropriate and the patio dining complete with child's play area make it truly fantastic. My wife and I shared a ref snapper, brought to the table before it was cooked, after it was cooked, and fully prepared on our plates. No meal is complete without dessert and Amarea did not disappoint. I can't remember the names on the desserts but certainly save room. The whole experience was an amazing was to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. After the meal we relaxed on the beach front recliners and watched the sunset. PERFECT!

Great experience! Very decent wine list and top notch service. Food is very artistic and well decorated. The server changed our utensils every course and made very good recommendations on both food and wine. Regarding price: Yes there is €2.5/person seating fee but you enjoy the best sea view and high quality food It's also significantly better value than other major hubs on the coast. (we also tipped €20)

The fish we ordered was tiny and overpriced. The food overall is okay but nothing special, and the portions are small for the price. Except of the pasta. The place is beautiful, especially outside in the sun, but it’s always a bit stressful with reservations.

As others have noted the location is very nice down by the beach and the food is well prepared and tasty. I wasn’t able to score 5 though as the bill had an unexpected charge of 44 Euro for our party of four called “a testa” and I was not given the bill printout until after making payment so it was a bit too late to even ask about this extra charge. It turned a 150 Euro meal into a nearly 200 Euro meal for four. Otherwise a nice experience but I won’t return as it was a bit pricey for a modest amount of food.

Loved it. The food, ambiance, staff. We had our favorite red shrimp, local olives, artichoke, oil, sea bass - all fish fresh and picked up this afternoon. I have celiac’s disease so I can’t have gluten - they made me gluten free pasta with Genoa pesto (famous to the region) - everything top notch. Couldn’t recommend more. Thank you to the staff and chef.

Nice restaurant by the sea. We had a lovely lunch! Amazing fritto misto! The pavlova dessert was top!!! One of the best I ever had!

Super arrogant staff. Not going to go into the detail, but pretty much almost everyone from junior to senior there is rude and non helpful. A pointless experience. Too bad for the good food. The experience is worthless without an appropriate level of service. I swear on my feet to never step back here, and my feet just said thank you.

It is very hard to find a bad restaurant in Italy, however, this place managed it. Cold food, warm white wine, absolutely abysmal service. Avoid like the plague.
