Death Valley Dining Oasis Feeds Thousands in the Hottest Place on Earth | Eater LA

"A short drive outside the eastern edge of the park, the weekend-only, seasonal, volunteer-run Amargosa Cafe is notable not just for its food but for also including a 100-seat opera house, making it a quirky cultural stop on the less-traveled side of Death Valley." - Farley Elliott

We went Feb 2 2019. The $6 "ice cream coffee" drink is exelent! I had the BLT with egg and avocado for $11. It was so good. The guy behind the counter is cool & helpful. Great service. Rest room are clean. The coffee creamer & sugar rest upon a beautiful old stove that is not in use. My husband bought 3 post cards that we left behind.

Was pleasantly surprised. When we drove past this place on our way to death valley, I imagined it to be a place deserted long time back. I googled the place to read it's history and was surprised to know it's a lodging place with a cafe since the 1980s. The building has been there since the 1920s. Went here for breakfast the next morning and had their breakfast pizza, oatmeal bowl and the biscut sandwich. Everything tasted really good especially the pizza. Don't miss out the almond cake 🍰. It was delish 🙂

Ahh, a gentle lagoon amongst vast expanse of nothingness ! After a few days in DV I was almost sucked into the void, till i stumbled upon this gem of a cafe, well maintained, traditional and yet youth and spunky. Ohh the yummy apple almond cake.. yumm Pause here for the odd coffee or a quick bite, get a dose of sanity back in your system. I was surprised to have the cappuccino dished to perfection, green tea is appealing and few of us tried it.

What a cute cafe with the most delicious iced coffees and egg sandwich!!!! The homemade biscuits were insanely good. Definitely recommend to anyone heading into Death Valley in the AM.

Place has atmosphere. The pulled pork is good and the homemade bread is great. Newson is an excellent host that adds to this great cafe

The lattes were tasty and beautifully executed! We had a brownie and a scone which were both super delicious! We will incorporate a too there anytime we come this way. It is well with the stop!

Great food and coffee. A wonderful spot to grab breakfast. A nice small locally run business. Real eggs and awesome jams. A stop here will not disappoint.

Great coffee! Best I had in the USA. Serves Genovese coffee from Melbourne Australia.
