This is a beautiful place to see and for a reasonable price. Words can't describe it. A lot of wonderful things packed into a small space. Thoughtfully laid out. Take your camera!

Google
Nice little botanical garden... came here to relax after a long day at work. It was very relaxing and quiet. Reduced by one star because the tropical observatory was closed while I was there, which I was really disappointed about.

My son picked this as an attraction for our vacation. I thought it was going to be out in the heat and boring. Surprisingly, it was a very nice place with plenty of shade. I wanted to go back in the evening because they have a nice outdoor amphitheater with a band. It was my favorite attraction we visited in Amarillo, TX.

Had a great time here. Very nicely put together and organized, really beautiful. Many different sections to explore.

Very pretty!! Enjoyed the beauty and the tranquility. Our favorite was the Asian gardens. The fish were so fun to feed. Well worth the visit!

Google
Really enjoyed this place. Quiet and beautiful. Was a little hot today but not too bad.

Google
Wonderful way to spend an afternoon! Visited 8/4/24 on a hot, lazy Sunday. Beautiful grounds- a lovely place Amarillo can be proud to have. So many areas and gardens to explore. Tranquil, quiet and restful. Level, free parking and convenient to highway and the medical district. Walking path, park and splash pad abut the gardens. Highly recommend visiting!!

So beautiful! The flowers are so big and beautiful here. No flowers touched or harmed in the photo. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, cute scavenger hunt for the kids

Yelp
Beautiful flowers and landscaping throughout. Nice relaxing walkways. Was able to see several plants and flowers I've never seen before. There are a couple of Water features with Koi. A section of garden vegetables, an indoor humid tropical section, and then multiple regions of dry air, desert canyon along with lush vegetation and flowers in other sections. There is a pavilion, and indoor facilities to host events, and receptions.

Yelp
Tucked beside the Discovery Center in Amarillo, the Botanical Gardens were a peaceful surprise on our trip. We wandered through winding paths of native Texas plants, blooming roses, and shady trees--quiet and colorful, even in the summer heat. The indoor tropical conservatory was a bonus, with orchids, koi fish, and a little waterfall that made it feel like a mini rainforest. It wasn't huge, but it was well-kept and relaxing--perfect for a slow stroll and a break from the road.

Yelp
If you're in the Amarillo area and enjoy beautiful scenery and/or plants, don't miss these gardens. This place is an amazing but likely under-appreciated gem. The gardens pack quite the punch in less than 5 acres, so you can make your visit short or take your time. There are a number of well-designed spaces, each with their own unique touches. We visited on a Sunday, the day after their pumpkin festival was held. There were many varieties of pumpkins along paths, in bowls, and on benches, adding a cohesive flair to the entire garden. Despite recent cool temperatures, the gardens were in full bloom. We particularly enjoyed visiting the greenhouse/conservatory space with its tropical plants, waterfall, small ducks, and colorful pheasants. Be forewarned that the humid environment required by the plants and birds means frequent misting, so protect your camera. If in the area again, we will definitely repeat our visit.

Yelp
My sister and I came in the fall and really enjoyed our time here walking around and seeing the flowers. It was beautifully decorated with different gourds and makes for a very comfortable and pretty walk. Now... two things: 1) If you have pollen allergies, take something before you go in there. I knew better and didn't - my fault. But I still had a great time. 2) If you venture into the observatory thingy (enclosed area) either have some VERY POWERFUL mosquito repellent or go in dressed as a Ninja. The mosquitoes in there are vicious! My sister was wearing a cute little dress and she almost looked like she had the chicken pox from all the bites. I was wearing leggings, sneakers and a jacket... there was about half an inch of skin exposed between the bottom of my legging and the top of my socks - they found it and attacked!

Yelp
Small yet very utilized! And they were definitely adding/expanding. My toddler enjoys nature. This was a great place to have him run around smelling the flowers.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! We are from out of town and wasn't sure what else to do besides see Cadillac Ranch. I found this place and was SO GLAD I did!! The place is not big, but whoever designed this place made every square foot with a purpose. Each and every part was so gorgeous and had several interesting things to look at. My favorite part was probably the green house. GORGEOUS plants, trees, and a cute little pond with ducks! Although, it's a hard competitor against the elegant koi fish pond where you can feed the fish with food from the office. Excellent bang for my buck, I believe I spent $12 total! $10 for admission ($5 each adult), and $2 for the koi fish food (50 cents a bag). Not to mention that they're pet-friendly! Our puppy had the best time there as well seeing all of the different bugs and birds. Highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
A lot packed in to a small place. Nice outside walk as well as a short trail through the greenhouse. Was a nice way to spend an hour outside.

Yelp
It was a nice relaxing walk. Nothing to exciting. We got their soon as their festival was over but it looked like they had live music, and shopping booths. Their is a big pond and park in the back to fish or go for a stroll.

Yelp
This is one of the smaller botanical gardens I have ever been to. But it was absolutely beautiful well kept lots of varieties of flowers and trees. And the indoor Garden area has a beautiful waterfall. An absolutely beautiful peaceful place to go on a hot Texas afternoon.

Olivia J.

Yelp
Wonderful for a small dose of nature in the city! Just traveling through but glad we got to see it.

Yelp
Update 10/28 The Gardens has now called my daughter who is 2 days out of the hospital and is basically harassing her over the deposit. This is unkind and unnecessary.

Yelp
We wanted to go to the zoo but the weather wasn't permitting so we ended up here instead. Such a pretty place! Fees are reasonable for adults and kids, active military are free. Plenty of parking spaces. The indoor garden is very well kept. There was a bird that roams around in it that is so beautiful but we couldn't get a chance to take a photo of it because it kept running around LOL! We brought kids with us and they enjoyed it as well.

Yelp
Modest size gardens can be experienced in about an hour. Many themes throughout kept it interesting. Unfortunately, February deep freeze killed many plants, so a lot of replanting is underway. Weather was perfect to enjoy the gardens.

Yelp
The Amarillo Botanical Gardens isn't like big city botanical gardens but it is special to Amarillo. I really enjoy going here to escape and enjoy the simplicity of it. It's not too big but all of it is very thoughtful planned out. There is even a small waterfall inside the greenhouse. And it's kid friendly

Yelp
Went here for the Christmas lights on evening of 12/22. We had never been to the botanical gardens before, so this was a nice intro. Have to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Only $5 per person for entry. They had $2 coffee and chocolate available for purchase as soon as you enter in the rec center on the right. We were smart enough to bring our own coffee. Lots of different lighting displays. You can tell the attention put into it. Was a nice thing to do in the area during the holiday season. I'm surprised they don't advertise more of this on their website or from other yelp postings. Would recommend for any locals looking for something affordable to do during this time of year. I think they stop the lights before Christmas, so keep this in mind for next year.

Yelp
Beautiful place to visit. It wasn't a destination for me but rather a stop over but so worth the trip! Beautiful beautiful must see!!
google avatar

Yelp
We went here for Christmas in the gardens! It's was so beautiful, something like 36000 lights is what the lady said. My little boy got hot chocolate and a picture with Santa. We didn't even have to wait in a long line and the picture with Santa was only 5$ and they let you check the photo before printing it to make sure you like it. We will definitely be doing this again!!

Yelp
My husband and I were staying overnight in Amarillo and just for something to do we landed on this Botanical Garden which is a tiny gem in the middle of Amarillo! Because we are members of the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens, our fee was reciprocated so that was a plus for us. Certainly not the size of the larger Botanical Gardens that we've visited but it is a beautifully laid out garden with a peaceful Japanese Garden and Water Feature. We are happy to be able to add this to our list of places that we've seen on our road trip!

Yelp
Not a lot in bloom yet. But it was full of life and beauty! The tropical plants were happy inside a greenhouse with eye-catching angles. There were oranges and beautiful flowers, waterfalls, palm trees, vines, and more. Outside was a nice grassy area, seemingly popular for weddings and such. There was no entrance fee, but of course donations could be made. My boys loved taking pictures of everything!

Christy H.

Yelp
My family and I attended the gardens Christmas lights tour. The gardens and the lights were beautiful! However too many people were allowed in at one time. Social distancing was impossible. The mask rule was not enforced. Also, food and drinks were served requiring the removal of masks. Even when the pandemic is over, I would like to pay more money to see the display with fewer people. It was over run.

Yelp
Beautiful garden that u can walk around and take in all the colors. They had a greenhouse that looked like a jungle when I walked in, and it had some ducks inside. The employee at the office/ticket booth was really passionate and nice and pointed us which direction to go for the best experience. There are butterflies all around and plenty of photo worthy spots within.

Yelp
Went here today and had a great time... Best place in Amarillo to visit, read a book and have lunch...

Lynn F.

Yelp
I made the mistake of going in November only to find out most of the plants and flowers were dead or dying. The greenhouse was nice, however, with some very colorful tropical plants. Mosquitos are everywhere inside the greenhouse so wear repellent.

Yelp
Lots in bloom during our late summer visit. They continue to improve the gardens every year which is nice to see!

Yelp
I was hoping to come back and say the issues were resolved but unfortunately that isn't the case. I have called the Gardens and haven't been able to speak to Kaitlin. Apparently the only form of communication is on yelp. While I understand the woman who created our contract obviously made some mistakes, such as telling us we would only need the one security guard, telling us we were set , etc. Etc., had this been brought to our attention months ago we could have fixed any issues, it was completely unprofessional for kaitlin to wait until our reception to inform us. How can I be in violation of a contract that was completed wrong? Again, learn how to run a business. As far as the hostile accusations, that's bologna. Anyone in my position would have voiced that the situation was bullshit. That kaitlin should learn to run a business. That's not hostile. That's simply being fed up with her costly mistakes. The gardens made mistakes and expected us to clean them up, just like the payment issue. She called while I was at work and told me I needed to pay off the event. When I called back at lunch, she was unavailable. So I had my husband call and inform them we paid off the balance months prior. Throughout conversation, Kaitlin told us we needed to figure it out because they were too busy to find the receipts/paper work. I'm sorry, but if the Gardens lost our payment, it is the Gardens job to find it, busy or not. While I was unable to answer every phone call (some people do work and cannot answer at the drop of a hat) either myself or my husband called back. And kaitlin claims they had a bad time with us, I would have never guessed since her staff spent the day and night telling us how great things were and how great everyone was. Like I said before, the Gardens should make a few more changes or send Kaitlin to some training before she runs the place into the ground with her terrible attitude and lack of professionalism.

Yelp
What a great place to come and enjoy the plants and the Gardens. Not a huge Gardens, but well planned and we loved the Bivins Conservatory it was wonderful, when you enter stop and look for the 2 birds, I'm not sure what they are called, but one is very colorful. Take your time and you'll see them. I love tropical plants and the sound of the water fall is very relaxing, when your at the water fall, look for the ducks they just relaxing waiting for you to come by. We brought a picnic lunch to enjoy outside in the garden. What a wonderful way to end our visit to Amarillo.

G W.

Yelp
$5.00 entrance. Not a large property. Some displays beautiful, some desperately overgrown and in need of weeding. Conservatory was very nice! Young man selling tickets very polite and very helpful. Fish pond had some algae growing that can't be good for the fish. This place could be awesome with a little more help, whether volunteer or employee.

Yelp
We spent about a half hour on a Saturday afternoon at the botanical gardens and I didn't leave very impressed. I understand that it's Autumn and different species of plants thrive in different climates and seasons, but come on... The wall of small pumpkins and a couple of scarecrows hardly counts as a "fall festival" like the website describes. Most of the flowers were dead, the entire garden was very small, and the website advertised a "scarecrow contest" with adult beverages from 1-5... Apparently that was cancelled or something. The cost wasn't too extravagant- I'd go again if I knew there was an event, but probably not simply just to walk around.

Yelp
Beautiful place, VERY well designed, get lost in all of the details. Worth a visit, only $5 per person, supports a great place. Gorgeous.

Yelp
Very pretty! From what was around during the winter months it was very pretty and aromatic. Still under construction and I did show up during the winter months but I can only imagine the sheer beauty of this quaint garden.
