Amarylis

"Global and Polish influences are effectively integrated at this basement restaurant inside the Queen Hotel, close to Krakow Old Town. Choose to sit in either either a traditional brick-built room or a more modern space furnished in black and white, then sit back and enjoy the attractively presented modern dishes. There’s a good degree of detail in the cooking, which showcases precision and effective flavour contrasts throughout." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Fantastic tasting menu with a great pairing and imaginative dishes. I come in as a single diner and soni had a lot of time to think about each dish and pairing. I was not disappointed. I was very imp with the amount of thought that went to each dish and the creativity of the chef. Let me just say that all the dishes were very impressive, I even can't stop thinking about the bread. The dish that really made my day was the beef shoulder, lasagna style which was paired with kapuata- polish style cabbage, but transformed into jelly and crispy shavings along with the a winter shaved black truffle. This dish was so fun and delicious, it brought forward a very typical staple, elevated it, didn't over do it and made the acidity compliment this rich dish. Bravo.

What an amazing surprise! Went with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday and it was really worth it. I would award you with the star, consistency and quality showed throughout the experience. The pairing alcoholic and non alcohol was a first for me and I really enjoyed, the process of the "juices" was very well done and the sommelier posture and storytelling were just sublime. Would come back for sure!

Google
restaurant surprisingly gets good reviews. In my experience it was not great. They have Michelin star prices with a mediocre tasting menu with some very odd pairings. It was a hard sell as soon as we sat down being pushed to purchase the caviar and oysters and to order a cocktail. We went for the 6 course tasting menu. First course was a soup that was quite good but it had a sweet jelly in the middle that encapsulated some fish. Did not work in my opinion, a little like when a Canadian offers you salade and it’s actually a sweet jelly being served in a savoury dish. Presentation for each dish was good but the flavours and tastes were simply not there. We were charged just under what you would be charged at a Michelin single star restaurant but had quality of food that was sadly way below. The sommelier was pleasant and the staff attentive but we felt rather deflated. This being said there are some exceptional restaurants in Krakow and I strongly recommend checking them out. Use the Raisin app. We had far better food for one seventh of the cost at Karakter. If you want a tasting menu find someone with a Michelin start rather than someone pretending to be

There were eight of us dinning here for a friend’s birthday. The tasting menu was very good and the restaurant accommodated all the dietary requirements our group had. The dishes were generally very good and tasty. Service was top notch including the sommelier who managed to guide a rather complex group of individuals.

Absolutely Amazing Restaurant! The food was incredible – every dish was carefully prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was flawless, everything flowed perfectly. If you're in Krakow, this place is an absolute must! An unforgettable dining experience – highly recommended!

Google
Amarylis offers a refined fine-dining experience with great attention to detail. Elegant presentation, harmonious flavors, and excellent service create a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. Perfect for a special occasion or when you want to enjoy high-level cuisine in Kraków.

Google
This is the 6 course tasting menu for 390 PLN. You could literally taste the combination between various ingredients, blended in a delicious way. Although, I wished at least water and tea to be included in the menu, without mentioning the service fee :) Surely it was a very extraordinary experience, however, if you want to have a fine dining experience at Michelin recommended restaurant, keep in mind that you'll pay more than the price of the menu course for sure.

It was good, not excellent. The taste wasn't that special as I expected from a Michelin restaurant. The Ambiente is not my favorite either. Staff ladies were beautiful.

Yelp
Located in the charming basement of the Queen Hotel, Amarylis provides a wonderful culinary adventure. The incomparable David, the maître d'hôtel, server, sommelier, and maestro of Amarylis, led us through a superb dining experience. Starting with my partner's Bouillabaisse, with a rich and wonderful broth, everything tasted delicious. My saddle of rabbit appetizer was scrumptious, and our veal shank entree, exhibiting a burst of flavors, blew us both away. Our strawberry tart and peach zabaglione desserts followed suit, being creative and tasty. David, a superb wine and spirits connoisseur, served two delicious full-bodied white wines, one a 2016 Hungarian Pinot-Noir white. Amazing. He also introduced me to two superb Polish vodkas, served neat in an aperitif glass. Amarylis was an ultimate dining experience and a fantastic introduction to gourmet Poland. Bravo!

Yelp
If you are in Krakow, you have to visit this place... loads of surprises. The creativies and the pairing wines will elaborate your experience for the next level

Yelp
Amarylis is a creative restaurant that delivers interesting flavors. Not all of dishes work, for instance, the cured trout tartar is too salty for the trout dish, could be left off the plate and be only about the fillet; the rabbit roulade would be better with a firmer texture. But most dishes hit the mark quite well, some are excellent, the beef carpaccio for instance is amazing and the highlight of the meal, a close second is the dessert of chocolate caramel, pear, and bergamot. The creativity here does sometimes trip up the big picture, leaving small elements in some dishes not well mashed with the rest. But those are tiny issues almost inevitable with this type of cooking. Overall, I would recommend this place over traditional french or medi fine dining places here in krakow.

Yelp
Perfectly fine restaurant offering a tasting menu with some hits and some misses. The starting courses were quite good - the guinea fowl with tomato consommé was to die for - but the entrees were only mediocre and dishes did not seem as well balanced. The wine pairings were quite good and service was friendly and attentive. You would have a good meal if you ended up here, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Well, maybe for another bowl of that consommé.

Yelp
YOU MUST EAT HERE! This is hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had the bacon dish which was impeccable. The bacon itself as well as the onions prepared four different ways and red wine sauce tied everything together and is to die for. My fiancé had the veal cheek and tenderloin, both of which were so tender we literally used a butter knife to cut it. To top it all off the waiter was knowledgeable and clever. A five-star review does not do this place justice. I will definitely return on my next trip to Kraków and I highly recommend you do the same.

Yelp
Great take on iconic Polish dishes refined with exquisite detail and farm to table ingredients.
