A Must! I’m Originally from Philadelphia, in China Town, there is a Fortune Cookie Factory … or was; I believe: :( (Closed) They Fed my Fortune Cookie Cravings, even Chocolate F.C. yes… Chocolate F.C. ! Curious, I found Amay’s Bakery. The Fortune Cookies are very good, not too sweet. The Almond Cookies!!!! You must try the Almond Cookies. They are exceptional and when I come back, I shall drop on in and buy more. Great Products at Good Prices, please stop in and check it out. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Google
I have been buying almond cookies and fresh noodles for many, many years. Amay’s Products are always extremely fresh and delicious. The prices are very reasonable and product quality is always the best. I plan to continue being one of Amay’s happiest, most satisfied customers.

Not bad picking up from here, I picked up a dry load. To get there is really tight and it is on a dead end Street. Very close to downtown LA and the county jail. Exit Vignes Street. They didn't take long to load maybe an hour and a half or so.

Not all Chinese almond cookies are the same. AMAYS IS THE BEST. A trip to the bakery is definitely worth your time and effort. 10 stars!

Google
Friendly people that work there. The almond cookies are amazing. This a manufacturer, so boxes are in bulk for restaurant sale, but still open to public.

Google

Yelp
I've been eating Amay's Almond Cookies my whole life...just like another reviewer wrote: not all Chinese almond cookies are the same, Amay's is the best and I agree. Their cookies are buttery & flavorful, has the perfect crispy texture and not too dense like the American ones. These are irresistible & simply melts in your mouth. When I was in LA, I knew I had to make a trip here- it's located inside a factory in an industrial area, a few miles away from Chinatown with no parking. Besides almond cookies, they also have fortune cookies, eggs, salad oil, sugar, almond split, fresh noodles and wonton/ egg roll wrappers. I got 2 tubs of the almond cookies at $9 each, which is pretty reasonable considering their freshly made here & probably cost about the same at the supermarket. The lady at the window was very friendly, I believe it's cash only- not sure though. Btw, not a single broken cookie from LA to NY. Definitely give their almond cookies a try!

Yelp
Great place to pick up fortune cookies, almond cookies and noodles. Located in an industrial area in DTLA, this warehouse is an order at the window business. Options are limited but prices are reasonable. Customer service is hit or miss but acceptable.

Yelp
Factory location for Amay's fortune cookies, located out of the way near Union Station. We've stopped by their Retail Chinatown location to pick up value fortune cookies (we get them to eat the cookies so like the value bag of broken cookies that they sell). We didn't realize that they had closed their store during Covid, so decided to walk to their factory. It's a bit of a walk (1+ mile) from Chinatown, but noticed they have parking. Amay provides fortune cookies to a lot of Chinese restaurants (including some major chains). Unfortunately, they don't sell value fortune cookies here, but instead offer containers of cookies for $6.50 (1/2 lb, which is quite expensive for 15 or so cookies). Since we had made the long walk, we bought two containers. A better deal might be their almond cookies. Because it is a working factory, no pictures are allowed (whoops).

Yelp
Amaya's is a great place to buy Cookies and Noodles. It is open to the public and is more industrial than a place you would typically buy baked goods at. They have a friendly staff. This is a great spot to pick up individually wrapped treats for Lunar New Year!

Yelp
On a MLK day, I drove to here for almond cookies at cheaper price. My family has been coming here for years to buy almond cookies. I still miss the Chinatown location. It is easy to drive here from freeway or street. Plenty of street parking. No prices displayed so best to ask at the window. 3lb box $13.50 and tub $9.50. The price has gone up due to inflation. The accounting person was very nice. Yes it is cheaper to buy it here than at Chinese supermarket.

Yelp
Pretty good company. Of course it's frozen stuff but they use the least chemicals. Can it be be done better - yes. Some of the American and French stuff is really good and only has like three or four ingredients. This works for Asian cuisine best.

Yelp
Almond cookies! A little backstory. I grew up eating their cookies without even knowing it. I remember one of my aunt's friends would always buy us a big white bucket filled with yummy almond cookies from LA when I was a kid. I didn't know which brand or where in LA she got them from. All I knew is that it was so good! Couple years ago (20+ years later), I was sharing this story with my friend and she told me that it is from Amay's in LA Chinatown. I was so surprised! I had no idea and I have bought their red boxes from local Asian markets numerous times lol. I was in LA for few days so I had to stop by their warehouse which is open to the public! The lady at the window was very helpful and she knew I was from out of town. She recommended which package would be the best if buying for multiple people. They have different size packages. I ended up getting the box that has 9 separate packages. Each individual package contains 40 cookies. 360 cookies total for $28.25. It is not a bad deal at all. The red boxes you get from Asian markets is already $6 a box. Also, the cookies are more fresh when you buy it directly from the warehouse. Besides almond cookies, they have fresh fortune cookies, giant fortune cookies, fresh noodles, fresh wonton wrappers, fresh eggroll wrappers and other things. I'm so happy that I have finally found them! If you love almond cookies like me, you should definitely give them a try. The cookies taste super fresh, buttery and crunchy! Crunch on!

Yelp
The premier almond cookie and fortune cookie company in Los Angeles. I come here when I have a hankering for almond cookies and/or fortune cookies. Yes, I'm that guy that reads the fortune then actually eats the cookie. Amay is always fresh and crispy. This is the factory so there is no store front-just the will call window/cashier. Bring cash and enjoy your cookies
google avatar

Yelp
Great option to pick up a box of fortune cookies or almond cookies to give away on special occasions for work. They come in a box and individually wrapped. My family and I have been coming here for years. Definitely much more affordable to buy direct than through other warehouses that get things from them. Website doesn't have prices.
google avatar

Yelp
Here's our secret... We buy the Fortune Cookies, in a large box for under $20, and the cookies are individually wrapped... we then give 'em out at Halloween to Trick or Treaters, and feel they're safe (wrapped), somewhat healthy (a better alternative to candy), tasty (so not like giving kids something they won't eat), and enlightening (culturally, plus you get a psychic fortune inside!) The cookies here are fresh and tasty, great almond cookies and fortune cookies. The fortune cookies are also excellent to put out for parties too, nice snack items. We bought a box of cookies for our Red Egg & Ginger Party as well, they're perfect for all occasions.

Yelp
Such a great little hidden gym. This is def a if you know you know type of place. Mission accomplished. 300 fortune cookies, 100 almond cookies and 10lbs of noodles for less than $50. Highly recommend checking them out if tin need any of those items.

Judah L.

Yelp
I came across the Amay's Almond Cookies in an 18 oz container at a new store that opened in the SCV called Seafood City Supermarket. I got one container and WOW...I had to go back for another in a few days only to find they no longer had them in stock! These are the best with, a full almond and sometimes two almonds! The boxed Twin Dragon version cannot even come close to comparison. The quality is what I remembered from my childhood!

Yelp
Lunar new year is coming up soon and I needed almond cookies that are tasty but don't cost a fortune. After a quick search on Yelp, I found Amay's Bakery & Noodle. I love buying things directly from the manufacturer because I know that whatever I get is fresh and usually cheaper than retail stores. Amay's Bakery and Noodle not only sells super fresh almond cookies, fortune cookies, and noodles, but they are also super friendly! Possibly the friendliest I've ever encountered in a wholesale to public setting. Located on the outskirts of DTLA, just off the 101 fwy, and at the end of a cul-de-sac, Amay's looks like a nondescript warehouse. You can literally smell cookies baking as you drive up. Yum! Street parking is available. While there are a few pictures of different cookie and noodle products at the front counter, there are no prices posted nor is there a posted list of products sold. Their website has detailed product lists which is helpful to know prior to visiting the factory. The ladies working there are extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. Just tell them what you're looking for and they can look up the price. I bought different sized boxes of almond cookies: 100 pcs ($7.65), 36 pcs ($4.26), 27 pcs ($3.55), and irregular fortune cookies ($2.25/2 lbs). You can also get individually wrapped almond cookies for $21.20 (200 pcs). While I didn't buy the 'regular' fortune cookies their price for individually wrapped was 11.90/6 lbs (approx 300-320 pcs). CASH ONLY! It does take a few minutes for them to get the irregular fortune cookies. But, if you like fortune cookies and don't care if they're broken or misshapen, these are a steal, super fresh and tasty. My office gobbled them up! I haven't yet tried the almond cookies but based on other reviews they should be pretty good too. All I can say is I'm a huge fan of Amay's and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
OH I finally made it to the factory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's tough getting here, since they are only open on weekdays AND close at 4:30. Lemme tell ya if you love these delicious fortune cookies like I do, it's definitely worth the time & hassle. Yes you can buy a bag of these fortune cookies in China Town, but do you know for certain how fresh they are? Plus it is so cheap buying straight from the factory anyway. I got a plastic tub of fortune cookies for only $3.50 & a large fortune cookie for $12.50. They also have those almond cookies everyone is crazy about & the crispy noodles. We were only going to buy some crispy noodles but unfortunately they are only sold in a 10lb box for $20 (yes super cheap) but that's a bit too much noodle for me.

Cindy F.

Yelp
A family favorite and one of LA Chinatown's legacy businesses, Amay's Bakery and Noodle continues to feed my fix! Noodles are made fresh daily, the almond cookies are the bomb, and restaurants that guard their reputations will only carry Amay's!! The storefront isn't much to look at, in fact, without the address, you'll probably walk right past it, but the goods are the real deal! I needed almond cookies, individually wrapped. Where else can I get a 10 lb. box without a problem? Check it out!
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I was trying to make a special order of chocolate covered fortune cookies and been calling for about a week now even showed up in person to speak to some girl named Michelle because she's the only person in charge for special orders ; but she seems to never be in even though they tell me she will be in I even left my info in person never received a call back. After all I've been through trying to get a ahold of this Michelle girl and still haven't been able to I wouldn't trust them with my order. Definitely would not be returning or bothering to deal with this company waste of time!

Grace R.

Yelp
Best Chinese almonds ever!! Don't let the industrial area scare you away! Go forth, be brave and enjoy your cookies!
google avatar

Yelp
I would give one less star because of cash only but that seems silly. The fresh noodles are fantastic! I bought medium size, as recommended. They are a good all purpose size. As you can see in the photos I made a great fried noodle with them! I think it was $8-9 for 10 pounds but I froze most of it. It's tons of noodles!! The fortune cookies are also wonderful! Fresh tasting and not too sweet. About $4 for a tub! I will never buy dried grocery store noodles again! These are so much easier to work with and the flavor and texture are unmatched!

Heidy N.

Yelp
Best almond cookies! Thing crispy and crumbles in your mouth. Definitely worth the drive for me.

Yelp
Wholesale Asian cookie and noodle company. They also sell to the public. Their almond cookies are outstanding. Very good prices and very fresh. You can get all different kinds of fortune cookies and noodles. Parking is a major PITA though.
google avatar

Andrew Y.

Yelp
Definitely a fixture in Downtown Los Angeles. They have a smaller warehouse in Chinatown on New High St. and Cesar Chavez. $1 a bag of broken/misshaped fortune cookies as well as dried noodles. Their almond cookies are also delicious! Definitely stop buy and pick up some cookies!
google avatar

Jim P.

Yelp
This factory outlet sells fresh made noodles, Chinese almond cookies, and bags of broken fortune cookies. The fortune cookies are my favorite - $1.50 gets you something like half a pound of cookies which you can eat like potato chips.

Mark F.

Yelp
Almond cookies are good but in the last 4 bulk boxes over 45% of the cookies have the almonds missing. They were all in the bottom of the tray. Better recalibrate the machine.
google avatar

Veggie J.

Yelp
BEST ALMOND COOKIES EVER. EVERRRRR. it's kind of hard to find, located in the industrial area. if you go, it just looks like their factory, but you can definitely make purchases in the front. for $3.50 you can get about 36 cookies or something like that. everything is nicely packaged and ridiculously yummy. go and get the big box. you will not regret it.
google avatar

Jocelyn X.

Yelp
My colleagues and I were gifted with a box of almond cookies, these cookies are the best we've had. I feel compelled to mention many of my colleagues are Asian. We have many local bakeries and we have enjoyed many flavorful treats. Amays almond cookies are just the right crispy texture, not too dense, the cookie taste buttery and flavorful. I highly recommend them! !
google avatar

Amy W.

Yelp
I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area, and get a box of almond cookies. You walk into a factory-type place, and browse their limited selection of almond cookies, fortune cookies, dried noodles. They also sell day-old/broken cookies for cheap by the bag (like $1.50), which are still edible and good. Plus, the nice Asian grandma at the cash register always greets you with a warm-hearted smile, bless her soul!
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
I know you're able to buy these cookies and noodles at the regular market...but when you get it here its probably way cheaper and its super fresh. They also have chocolate dipped fortune cookies as well as a giant dipped fortune cookie for special occasions i guess but i believe you need to special order those. I will definitely be coming back here for more cookies and noodles.
google avatar

Daniel R O.

Yelp
Almond cookie goodness! No more searching best quantity for the price. Far superior to those nasty 99¢ store play dough cookies. Lol!
google avatar

Callie C.

Yelp
Guys. This place is LEGIT. It's the kind of place you look up and hope it lives up to your expectations... And then they go above and beyond. The cookies are fab. The staff is so friendly and helpful and overall it's a great experience. I even called ahead and they were nice on the phone! Are people still friendly when you call these days? Service is top notch. I highly recommend visiting. Don't be fooled when you drive down the dead end street. It's a warehouse vibe but just find your way to park in the street/alley and head in the front entrance! Yay Amay's rocks. Get your sugar fix ;)
google avatar

Olivia A.

Yelp
The best Chinese almond cookies! Omgooodnesss! Getting it from the source. Straight from the warehouse. Fresh, out of the oven.
google avatar

D J L.

Yelp
FRESH noodles, won ton wrappers, Chinese almond cookies, fortune cookies and more available at a great price! The small, difficult to find "store front" and lack of a price list made shopping there a little troublesome, but the freshness and deliciousness of the egg noodles, almond cookies, and fortune cookies I bought made the trip to DTLA worthwhile. Very limited street parking.

Erika A.

Yelp
Love their almond cookies they are always crispy and full of buttery goodness. Prices are very reasonable as well.
google avatar

Frank C.

Yelp
Love them almond cookies, we grew up in Los Angeles, just down the hill in china town we always bought the cookies after school just hot out of the oven, so good. the bakery use to be on college st. in Los Angeles i will never forget the old neighborhood.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I wanted to cook Chinese at home for friends gathering. Found this bakery on Yelp and based on the reviews, went to get some cookies and noodles. The staff was quite unfriendly and rude; didn't seem to care for the business, asking me to wait and had to wait over 10 minutes before finally helping and was impatient when I asked about the pricing. Finally got a box of almond cookie, fortune cookies and a box of noodle. As I was leaving, I saw a mouse running along the wall. The maintenance and sanitation seems to be not up to par with dust and old boxes on the ground. The almond cookies were similar to those of Chinese restaurant but very greasy; after laying out, there's oil seeping onto the paper plate (made of lard!). The fortune cookies are decent but lots of broken cookies in the box. The noodles were very bland in flavor and terrible out of the box as they were all sticking together and was lumping up even before cooking. I'm not going back. Its just not a pleasant experience and the products are shaky at best. I did manage to find better places such as Phoenix Bakery (not far, for better cookies) and 99 Ranch Market for noodles.

Eric M.

Yelp
The best almond cookies I have ever had. I have also given out these cookies to other people and they all fall in love with them. Super fresh. You have to try some. Going back his week for more. It's worth the drive to downtown.

Richard Z.

Yelp
Very good tasting traditional Chinese cookies at reasonable price! We drove from Sacramento to LA and the first thing we did was to pickup two boxes of cookies by popular demand from the relatives.
