The Best Tonkotsu Ramen In LA

"Kotoya is the most underrated Westside ramen spot and the only place I’d gladly let charge me $2 for green onions and $2.50 for nori sheets. Every penny is worth it to support this tiny Palms noodle counter, whose nuanced take on tonkotsu manages to be rich, flavorful, and fatty without being absolutely overwhelming. In the Before Times, piling on table-side spicy pepper and oil was essential. Now, just ask for some on the side when you place an order." - kelly yeo

Amaze Ramen has serious potential to become a neighborhood staple in Palms! Earlier this evening, my partner and I dined in and we had a fantastic time! You order via a kiosk and seat yourself, reminiscent of other ramen shops in Japan. The entire restaurant felt nostalgic with small details placed throughout. It was so charming! We got the opportunity to chat with the ramen chef, Arthur, who was kind and passionate about his craft. Honestly, he added to the overall experience and made us instant fans. You could tell he really cared about getting it right, which was evident in the time and effort he took in preparing our dishes. I got the Creamy Garlic Ramen, which had some delicious and rich broth! I absolutely recommend adding spice, if you can handle it, to give the bowl an extra kick! I actually wish I had asked for more! Each bite was more savory than the next, and before I knew it, I was already picking up my bowl to slurp the rest of the broth! They weren't kidding when they said it was creamy! Additionally, they gave a generous amount of toppings - more so than your usual ramen shop. They didn't skimp out - that's for sure! The bowl arrived piping hot, right from the kitchen to our table. The presentation was picture-perfect. However, the noodles didn't quite hit the mark for me. While not bad, their texture didn't pair well with the broth, in my opinion. I'd love to see additional noodle selection options in the future. While there's room for refinement, particularly with the noodles, the quality of the broth and toppings, along with the chef's evident passion, make this a promising addition to Palms' dining scene. The staff also asks for feedback too, which I really loved! They are really invested in perfecting their menu, which I love and appreciated. I'm excited to see how you all evolve over the next few months! We'll be rooting for you, Amaze Ramen!

This 100% plant-based Ramen restaurant is a fantastic addition to the Los Angeles food scene. The Ramen is delicious and authentic, with rich flavors that stand out. We have a few favorite Ramen spots around LA, but this one has quickly become our top choice. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Great new vegan ramen spot! Loved the taste of the rich broth, texture of the noodles and the low-key/friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend that you give Amaze a try.

I love this place. One of the few ramen places I’ve tried that has a truly unique flavour and it’s very affordable too. Every dish me and my friends had was delicious for different reasons. Mokana gave us amazing service and was so kind. I’d definitely come eat here again.

Yelp
I've been going to this spot before it was vegan and I can confidently say it taste better than before. The broth is amazing, not too salty but perfect, i couldn't even tell the katsu was tofu until after I finished the meal. everything taste amazing and the staff are super kind and are good company to have when eating a perfect bowl of ramen!

Yelp
Been coming here since it was Kotoya ramen. Garlic Ramen: 4/5 My Food Rating: B+ Ambience/Decor: 3/5 Presentation: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 Price: 4/5 My Experience Rating: B+ Location: 4/5 Wait: 5/5 Hours: 3/5 Parking: 3/5 My Convenience Rating: B Pros: - Service was friendly. - Ramen was rich and flavorful. Cons: - No more chasu. When it was Kotoya the ramen came with a thick cut of flavorful flame torched chasu. - The ramen was a bit too al dente. Conclusion: Not quite as good as it was when it was Kotoya ramen, but overall still a solid ramen joint.

Yelp
Just finished eating the spicy garlic ramen and it is hands down the best ramen I've had in LA. the broth was super flavorful without being too heavy. It was so good I had to order more noodles just to keep enjoying it. Plus it had tons of wood ear mushrooms and the slice of lime really set it over the top. The restaurant was super clean and the chef was very friendly. I forgot to take a picture of the food so here is my receipt for proof. 10/10 will be back

Yelp
Delicious ramen. Great vegan/vegetarian options as well. I really enjoyed the Miso ramen in particular. The staff were friendly as well.
