Amazon Fresh Stores Planned for Seattle and Bellevue - Eater Seattle

"Amazon announced that it is hiring for positions at an upcoming Amazon Fresh grocery store in the Central District, Seattle. The store will be located at 23rd Avenue and Jackson Street. The Amazon Fresh store features aisles filled with national name brands, produce, meat, seafood, prepared items, and household wares and utilizes monitoring technology like Alexa kiosks and Amazon Dash Cart." - Gabe Guarente

A ghost town of a store. When it opened it was awesome, like a small Whole Foods. Fantastic hot bar, good deli and meat department, good produce. Literally everything has been cut in terms of quality. The deli is rarely staffed, the quality of goods have dropped, the meat department for fresh items is no more. So we once had a mini Whole Foods and we now have a bad Trader Joe's knock off. I have no idea what the heck Amazon's goal is here but it's not to put out the finest product that would drive brand loyalty that's for sure. Also, they can't keep the store staffed. When I go there it's always a flip of a coin if they have products. This isn't the supply chain crunch anymore, it's just lack of effort. I have no problems at any of the major supermarkets in the area, including Whole Foods. They all seem to be doing OK, while this Amazon fresh can't keep basic foods regularly on the shelf. Either Amazon needs to start over or just deal with it that this store is going to be more costly to run, and make an effort to improve. The employees that are there are awesome. Hope Amazon's management can figure out how to keep them happy. UPDATE March 2025: Still not great. They're adding additional passive security due to shrinkage issues. Produce continues to be hit and miss. Stuff like soy milk are OOS often, I never see that at other local markets. Hot and cold deli are sad. No meat dept just prepacked stuff. I continue to feel like I have a better experience driving to TJs, Safeway or QFC. The prices are reasonable for the city, it really comes down to execution. The store feels like a beta test and Amazon does not know what they want to do with it. It feels soulless and without any level of real, honest, care about putting out a good product. The employees on site are still fantastic.

I hate this Amazon with an unusual fervor considering it is just a grocery store. I used to go here often as I live close by. Then it because a “in a pinch” type of stop. Now it’s a total gamble on if they will have a single item in my very basic list of groceries - its like it’s every employee’s first day every day. I have never once asked an employee where something is and had them point me in the right direction. And they are so unhelpful in general. No one wants to unlock doors, no one walks with you to make sure you found what you need, people will disappear into the back for what feels like ages “asking your question “ and come back none the wiser. Everyone is SO SLOW. I’d rather slow drip hand sanitizer in my eyes than interact with employees - A few months ago they added glass covers to 50% of the non refrigerated aisles and cut their whole store stock by what feels like 30%. They have way less food, almost no international options, and then you also get the added joy of waiting 10 minutes for someone to emerge from the great beyond to open 8 glass doors for you to get toilet paper, tampons, toothpaste and other basics. It’s painful - in addition to 1/3 of their store disappearing because of the glass containers, the other stuff is constantly out of stock. It’s a ghost town. - gotta pay attention to expiration dates and inspect food as they will sell rotten goods

Google
Way better prices than red apple or QFC and there’s usually tons of sales that are 50% off more on their meats!

This is the most on-camera I've ever felt in a grocery store. That said, the shopping experience can be an introvert's dream: the dash cart allows you to shop, pay, and leave with even more ease than the traditional self-checkout (which they have as well). There is a very efficient return center for *any* Amazon return. The sushi is surprisingly decent. The pizza (by the slice) is cheap and good. Overall prices are less than Safeway down the street. Hot tip: meat has been getting price-reduced to 50% or 75% off on its expiration date. Nice time to stock up the freezer.

Google
Every time I have popped in they are always out of stock on items. I am shocked that this is the state of an Amazon grocery store in the home town of Amazon; I would think corporate would be embarrassed at its condition. Also, their coffee selection is hilariously sparse.

Jordan Wells

Google
From the ease of access and the quickness of the shopping list that you do as well as the speedy checkout that can be linked to your Amazon account are all things that make this store one that I enjoy shopping at rather frequently. And while the selection can sometimes be dwindling due to being sold out frequently of a lot of highly sought-after items the reason for this is because the prices are so much better than most other places. I have also noticed that they do tend to restock the items that run out somewhat frequently which is definitely needed.

Absolutely Unacceptable Experience – Management Needs to Intervene Immediately My recent visit to this Amazon Fresh location was appalling on multiple levels and made it crystal clear that serious intervention is needed regarding employee conduct, customer service standards, and basic hygiene protocols. First, a female employee who usually works the checkout lines was near the digital carts displayed shockingly rude and condescending behavior toward customers who needed assistance. Instead of offering help with professionalism and courtesy, she barked at people with an arrogant, dismissive attitude—repeating loudly, “I’ve been here two years, I know what I’m doing,” as if her tenure excused her total lack of patience or basic customer service etiquette. Her tone was hostile, her demeanor smug, and her unwillingness to help created an unwelcoming and frankly hostile environment right at the entrance of the store. Unfortunately, the situation only deteriorated at checkout. The cashier, Mohammed, repeatedly misgendered me—not once, not twice, but four separate times, calling me “sir” throughout the transaction. After I politely corrected him and informed him that I am a woman, he immediately proceeded to misgender me again. This wasn’t a simple mistake—it was an act of deliberate disrespect and discrimination. It was dehumanizing, humiliating, and absolutely inexcusable. To make matters even worse, Mohammed’s body odor was overwhelmingly foul—so much so that I had to physically back away from the checkout counter by 4–5 feet just to breathe without gagging. It is entirely unsanitary to have staff who have clearly not bathed in direct contact with food and customers. Amazon Fresh presents itself as a clean, modern, tech-forward grocery experience—but this smelled, literally and figuratively, like the exact opposite. To have one employee verbally abusing customers and another one not only discriminating against me but also violating basic hygiene standards is beyond unacceptable. If this is the level of staff training and oversight Amazon Fresh considers adequate, then your brand is in serious trouble. I strongly urge management to investigate this incident, enforce accountability, and implement proper training—especially around respectful customer interactions, inclusive practices, and hygiene expectations. Your customers deserve better than this. A lot better.

Google
One funny favorite stores to shop. There’s always amazing deals! Can always depend on Amazon fresh when on a budget! Great hot food selections! Always an amazing fruit/vegetable selection. Check it out if your around

Yelp
Nice store but missing some essential items. Clean store plus nice employees But no canned olives, crisp taco shells or pickles... why?

Rey P.

Yelp
Very nice, well stocked market. Very similar to Whole Foods. Clean, bright and airy. Pleasant place to shop. There is parking under the building.

Bernita J.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and love to buy freshly baked pizza. Five out of 10 times I have driven there and the pizza bar is shut down. I have now decided to pay more, by at Domino's or Jackson Street Pizza and save time.

Yelp
Pricey. Limited. Basic. I dig the concept and returning Amazon packages here with cash incentives is nice! But, I don't think it's cost effective. Everything here is pricier compared to other stores and the brands they have are all expensive. Each section is limited so not many options to choose from and it doesn't have a whole lot outside of the basics to get. Wasn't impressed and can't really consider this place for groceries. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to shop here.

Yelp
It's great to go into a store and just pick up what you need and leave without standing in line for a cashier I used to do my grocery shopping at an Amazon go but it was shuttered so they could concentrate on the larger stores. Shopping would take all of 5 minutes if was fantastic. I had error a on my receipt just 3 times and amazon help restored my purchase price no problem. Highly recommend shopping there.

Yelp
I've given Amazon Fresh three tries and never again. Poor selection, bare shelves when items are on sale, poor selection, mediocre prices, weird and depressing ambiance. A cross between Soviet Russia and a dystopian future. Beam me the heck outta here.
google avatar

Mei W.

Yelp
Convenient location with a lot of item variety. I love the smart carts! It's actually the only Amazon fresh location I shop at because of the location and free one hour parking! Love that they have hot food items too! Great clean ambiance! Never really had to ask for help or assistance but I would see people available for service though! :)

Yelp
Conveniently located in between the Cap Hill-Beacon Hill area. This is my go-to location whenever I need to buy something quickly and don't want to run to a Safeway or Fred Meyer. The only things about this place is that they have a limited vegetable selection and produce is so pricey. Another thing is that they don't have security, so you see kids from the high school nearby just loitering and blatantly stealing from the store and get no consequence for it. Corporate or management does not care if their employees lose their jobs, seems like.

Yelp
Four stars for the convenience. You can do your package pick up here for orders from Amazon that you don't want to ship to home. Sometimes when you pick up a package here, they attach a coupon for grocery discounts for you to use in the future until a certain date. You can also do returns, I'd imagine. I haven't tried doing it myself. There's a hot bar and a pizza kiosk as well. The hot bar looks intriguing. I'm not comfortable with food that's been sitting out in the open for too long, but I know it's popular among others. I've tried the pizza which makes for a quick lunch and a pinch. They usually have slices ready to go. In terms of groceries, if you're not expecting too much, you'll be fine. You can get your basics here at classic Seattle prices. Not too high but not super low either. There are sales on things from time to time, perhaps Prime members get some sort of discount as well. In terms of produce, I haven't always found that everything is always in stock. Sometimes things like bell peppers seem to be super mid-quality. Check your produce well. They have flowers too sometimes from what I've seen which is very classic for a grocery store. Another perk is the parking, the parking lot is free to use for a specific amount of time which should be on the signs leading into the lot. And you can essentially do your shopping and head out knowing your car is hopefully in good shape. They also offer the carts that do the checkout experience for you, which is interesting. Once you get the hang of that and how to add items into your car properly, I'm sure you'll be able to save time.

Yelp
This place is the wild west. I watched shoplifters freely roam the store, picking up whatever they wanted. Another customer complained about this to the so-called security guard. Who laughed about it; he was watching the same guy. AND HE DID NOTHING. He is physically too challenged to chase or stop them, and doesn't confront them. Same customer when I went out to my car was physically assaulting the shoplifter . In the rain, in the dark, on the sidewalk. I yelled to break up the fight-because at first that was all I could see, two men fighting. Customer comes over and yells at me that it's my fault the prices are high because I am letting the shoplifter get away. I don't work for the store. Just wanted some soup. Paid for it. Oh, and icing on the cake: you can't call the store to complain. You can't reach customer service at all. Unless it's to return an item. There's no way to tell Amazon that their security guard isn't doing diddly squat and that their customers are battling in the streets.

Yelp
I love Amazon Fresh so convenient online and in person . The hot bar is reasonable and Delicious

Peter H.

Yelp
There is nothing fresh about the produce in this store. I've had it. You can't have the word fresh in your company name if the stuff you carry isn't fresh. Shopped on Sunday at 3pm and found rotten brussels sprouts, orange rusted lettuces, brown & bruised celery and the list goes on. I shop here for convenience (close to my house) but I think you just got my last dollar. Hate this store. No employees around for help, no meat, seafood counter, lack of proteins and holes all over the store where product should go. One employee said if we don't get into the store @9am once an item is gone, there isn't anyone to stock it. WHAT? I got pictures!

Yelp
I understand the frustrations by community members who dislike having Amazon Fresh here, but this isn't a bad store objectively speaking. It's clean and a decent size to navigate. Employees are helpful, and I'm pleased by the deli section. I got a whole pizza for under $10 and it was giant, although I wasn't a huge fan of the combo I ordered. Selections are fresh and there's a little bit of everything, which makes it incredibly convenient to pop by and grab a last minute ingredient if you live in the area. I don't think I would make a special trip out here if I didn't live close by. At the same time, I think they tried too hard to pack so many features in -- that it just becomes confusing. They offer many cart sizes from the self-check out ones to mini carts for kiddos to push. Great idea but poor execution since the aisles are narrow and the sharp corners result in customers bumping into each other. Lastly, the design of their check out line is such a huge waste of space. They make you line up really far out and the spacing between each check out counter is awkward and distant. I don't know who designed it, but certainly not too clever. This review is more of a 3.5 star and this store has potential, but infrastructure and design flaws make this location a bit frustrating to work with.

Yelp
Um its convenient is mostly it. the 2$ pizza is pretty good if you get it fresh. the deli self serve is pretty basic. some things are over cooked and nothing new for variety usually. Sushi is pretty good. i've bought a few things that were on sale and they didn't ring up at the correct price.

Yelp
I was in town and interested to visit this new location, hard to determine promos, but they are definitely there via Amazon app and accurate. The first impression of the store is not very good as packaged salad are majority stale. The selection on fruit are better, and descent deal on berries and cherries. I liked about the food stand, especially the ease of use for printing labels thru scale. The salad bar, unlike the packaged veggies, is delicious! The friendly staff are always a plus. Throughout shopping, I had to interact with three employees and all were helpful. There are a good subset of Whole Food 365 products in store, these are frozen or dry goods, the ingredient selection is not as wide as Whole Food. It isn't clear where do Amazon Fresh position themselves. I expect the perishable items such as salad to be "fresh", and that expectation will always be with the store name "Fresh".

Joy Ng ..

Yelp
I use their delivery service. The food is good - they have some items that no other store has.

Yelp
This store is fine if you know what to expect. I normally shop at a local Safeway and it's frustrating at times to shop there. Their latest managerial "brainstorm" led to them deciding to get rid of normal checkout counters and having all self-checkout. Normal checkout was the only thing that made that place bearable. Amazon Fresh was meant to be like their Go stores, meaning you can scan your prime code at the door and walk out with the groceries and it automatically charges you. You can also register your palm as a prime member and scan that and walk out with purchases. It's extraordinarily convenient as there's no line every time. The people working at this store have always gone above and beyond here. Then again, I don't hold a grudge against employees on their phones because I know that the company delegates work through a phone app. Once you engage them (interrupting their work day on their work phone is what they get paid for) they are extremely nice and knowledgeable. I also had no problem checking out without scanning my app or palm upon entering. Pickup orders have been timely and they offered to bring it to my car. If you have shopped at the Metropolitan market this whole time, PCC, or the other more expensive markets, then don't come here if you expect that experience. If you're expecting to find some stuff you like that they carry, have a good sale on, or some fresh produce then you'll like the store. I had a cashier have a mental breakdown on me and scream at me for using a recyclable bag during the Covid shutdown at a Whole Foods in Cap Hill. Since then, I've noticed others having major blowouts in different people I have dealt with. Due to the majority of the population recovering from that time and the issues it created, I prefer to rely on my ability to pick out good meat/seafood or produce and shop with limited interactions.

Jordan G.

Yelp
I have gone to this store 3 times and the "free" parking has not worked each time. The last two times, when I arrived in the arm for the entry gate was open and the machine would not print a ticket. As cars piled up behind me I had to drive in. I was not able to back up. After I entered the arm closed behind me. When I tried to leave the agent for parking.com tried to force me to lay $20 and said I lost my ticket after I explained what happened. She said "it is your fault because you chose to park there when the arm was broken." I asked the Amazon employees in the store before getting to the meter and no one was any help. On top of this, the store is a cement brick with limited options for groceries. And customer service is terrible. Be smart and go to QFC or Safeway. Do not go to this store.

Yelp
Super sad to see that they sell juice last expiration date. I purchased expired over a month ago :( at least I saw it right before I drank it :( I didn't notice when I put it in the cart.
google avatar

Elliott F.

Yelp
Ok, tried to purchase a bottle of spray n wash...it was on the very top shelf which is over 8ft so I asked for assistance. An employee got a ladder and took down 2 bottles for me. As I walked towards the register I was stopped by another employee who said I couldn't buy it since they didn't know what it should be priced at. Really??? What the heck? You guys are in business to sell products on your shelves. They couldn't call one of their other stores or go online to find out the price??? They are THE GLOBAL LEADER of all products. I mentioned this to someone at the customer service booth. I think her mask rendered her mute since all she would do was nod her head, not a peep was spoken. I really want to love this store but they are making it hard to be a customer. 100% Bad customer service!! I would have given zero stars if that was possible on Yelp.
google avatar

Wendi L.

Yelp
I am not an Amazon fan girl and only begrudgingly use it as a necessary evil... that being said I love having this around the corner as our local supermarket. Prices are very fair for Seattle and even better value with the prime 20% off $50+. Great salad bar with decent hot bar selections. Even grateful for the free wifi and counter seating while we wait for service at home ‍
google avatar

Kaeleene E.

Yelp
This is a sad excuse for a grocery store. The employees just walk around like zombies on their phones and god forbid you ask for help...they either ignore you or act like you're asking them to cut off their arm just to help you. The pick up counter for package is the WORST. Every single time I go the associates just stare at their phones and wait a good 5 min before acknowledging me but they also make no eye contact or even say a polite hello. I'm honestly guessing management does not care whatsoever since the entire staff is like this. My boyfriend said he went to the meat counter and the associate was again...on his phone and took his sweet time to come and help. Again managers clearly don't care because I see them walk around not even bat an eye at the horrible service. Also why is nothing stocked? Like super basic items. And there's so many things on the shelf that are so close to their expiration date. This place should just close down and they should put a Trader Joe's here instead. That would be much better.
google avatar

Vi P.

Yelp
I enjoy long walks to the grocery store. No seriously, I like going to grocery stores to look at their selection. I came here to drop off an Amazon return and wanted to see if there were any good snacks. Their deli section is subpar. It reminded me of a wannabe Whole Foods with various dishes that you can self serve and pay by the pound. At the hot food section I saw pizza (also self serve-covid?) and ribs. I was expecting a larger selection of hot foods. They sell Amazon donuts and own bakery section. Walking by the produce section, their fruits and veggies looked fresh although priced higher than other grocery stores nearby. I didn't see anything that looked enticing. I ended up buying some pre-packaged macarons that were surprisingly good. Parking is free at the Jackson apartments if you're there for less than an hour.
google avatar

Connie S.

Yelp
I like the convenience here that if you have an Amazon App on your phone, you can use their Green Self Check out shopping carts. Just drop product in your cart and it will calculate the total. If you have a singular piece of fruit, or veggie, that's not in a box, you do need to print out a Label with the UPC code on it. Then cross the Green Check out lane without unloading your cart for the Cashier. You skip waiting in a long line at Check out. I hate waiting in Lines at Grocery stores when it's busy. So I went to the Amazon Go store often before This Fresh Store was open. But now the Capital Hill Go store has a Phone by Parking system which is highly inconvenient. The problem, I had today was that the Weigh scale that prints out the Salad Bar Labels was broken. Another major inconvenience is that you have to get a parking ticket to enter their Garage and put it back into the Gate, get your car out. But at least, your car might be more secure while shopping. Their Garage is pretty empty. They make their employees park elsewhere. So You can park close to the door unlike Costco or Walmart's large Lots. I don't have a Costco Membership anyways. Last month, I went shopping here and the Fire Alarm lights were flashing. The entrance of the garage was full of water. Then about 15 mins later, the Alarm started shrieking very loudly. There was a cop in the store and told everyone to leave. But that might of been a real emergency. So I left with my car quickly.

Naturelle J.

Yelp
The produce, ..picked over and in spare volume. Empty shelves, No Jimmy Deans sausage.. Hot food and salad bar was sub-par at best. Everything was spare ,fried and old. I'm convinced Amazon is planning to get out of this store.

Jill L.

Yelp
For a store that promotes itself as a wired grocery store here is some basic technology that isn't working a WEEK after they opened this fancy building in my neighborhood: 1) The scanner (see photo) 2) The card reader (i had to change lines with my groceries, always fun) 3) The Alexa assistant who the real person I asked point me to (it sent me to the beer aisle for Chile sauce--haha, maybe I need it after this shopping trip! Also, remember when people walked you to the right spot?) And lastly 4) the elevator. (Pro tip: you know what parents want more than mini green shopping carts for their littles? A working f-Ing elevator! Another parent tip: your finished garage has toddler foot sized holes in them! Without a caution board or covering. Worst shopping experience in years.

Billy Joe K.

Yelp
Most disgusting pile of produce I've ever seen. They were out of most of the things I was looking for, super hot, long lines and sad environment. Not even worth the time it may have saved rather than going to Safeway. Never going back.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
It's 2023 you are a multi-trillion dollar company and don't have apple pay... No one wants to use Amazon pay

Marie H.

Yelp
Bad experience on 23rd & Jackson store. Came here at 11:10 am Sat. The hot food kitchen was bare though the sign says open at 11 am. Walked around the store and went back at 11:30 but still no one was in sight. Asked the staff at the adjacent counter and was told there were too many people working at the kitchen. So I placed the items was going yo buy back at the counter. Wasted 20 minutes and left. Oh well, no one cares anyway.
google avatar

Doug H.

Yelp
Produce is old and outdated, every time it's either bad or goes bad within a day, no more.
google avatar

Andrew Y.

Yelp
Today at 9:30 AM the store is closed. Has this location closed permanently? The website says they are open today.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice selection and great price. Pizza and ribs taste great too but definitely lacking in terms of employee retail experience and attention to detail. Got served my tiramisuebupside down lol

Brad B.

Yelp
Store is generally dirty, staff is unknowledgeable/unhelpful. Not a great selection. Hard to get anyone's attention at the counters. The pickup people are great though.
google avatar

Niya Z.

Yelp
Newly opened market and is now my daily food supporter with fresh veges and fruits. everytime you shop you can get a coupon with a limited time spec. what i want to mention is the roasted chicken there only charge for 4.99dollar for the whole chicken, though it is not that crispy in skin or flavored inside, it is still a good deal!
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
The old white dude at the cash register was rude as hell to deal with. Flat out refused to let me buy beer even when presenting an ID and credit card with my name matching. (I was not drunk) and just spent over $200 on bbq food but for some reason refused to sell me beer. The dude was on a major power trip.
google avatar

Cathy G.

Yelp
I love my Amazon fresh. However we are going on 2 weeks with the elevator being down. I know it's an Otis elevator and Otis repair people suck. But come on. As a person with mobility issues who uses a walker I can't be walking to the emergency exit in produce and waiting for someone to let me in and when done waiting for someone to let me out. While this is a temporary "fix" something else needs to happen.
google avatar

J J.

Yelp
Big and clean, wide aisles. It has everything I need and underground parking.

Picasso C.

Yelp
It's a futuristic, clean vibe. Didn't have as much stock as I thought and were out of regular Red Bull but overall it's great!

Aliyah R.

Yelp
I went in for a few last minute groceries, I got to the checkout line and no one was there to check anyone out. So I just put my groceries back and left. A wild waste of time.

Valerie P.

Yelp
A total joke I placed a grocery order around 12 noon received a msg that the delivery would arrive between 2-4PM and I was disappointed b/c nothing came no delivery just nothing. I live in the Central Dist so I think that this was the location. My Mother was sick I ordered soup with some rolls & eggs. Now we have : No eggs No soup and some other staples. I have a doctors appt tomorrow but from now on I'll just go to the damn store or order off of Instacart. Thanks for nothing PS I don't like Amazon Fresh its way too corporate.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazon fresh management is completely in line with the community the prices are stayed low their service and quality are above and beyond I recently visited and with that visit one of the products I approach are trying to purchase wasn't on their computers any longer but they still have product and because it wasn't in their computers I was allowed to walk out with the product without paying kudos Amazon prime you have a good place for business with these people thank you

Tesla A.

Yelp
I absolutely love this grocery store. Me and my boyfriend only shop at Amazon fresh stores because they always send the best coupons and have very fair prices to start! Such clean organized stores and helpful staff

Evana E.

Yelp
This is absolutely the worst experience ever. I literally have been here over 40 times and had one of the employees who has gray hair tell me that my products weren't there and then they just stop answering the front. They made me go to the back where Amazon flex is and they were no help and told me to go back into the front who does that? Then they made me look like I was a crazy person as I'm telling them and showing them that the delivery address is Sodo. I even called a customer service person and they said it was a right location. So fuck you all. This was such a frustrating experience I had an event and there was no food. I was on hold the first time and none of them could figure out the problem. The rude-ass lady on the phone call gave me a $5 promotional balance. So fuck you Amazon. Fuck your customer service. And no one answers the bell. You can definitely tell that there's a labor shortage because of the lack of response imagine sitting there for 15 minutes and no one is coming. It is frustrating that after a certain point to get ignored.
google avatar

Nick T.

Yelp
Unreliable. Says it's open until you get to the front door. Employees play hide and seek. They're all over the neighborhood, but no one will let you into the store.

Vanille R.

Yelp
It is new. Price reasonable. Looks like they are so busy and lots of products run out stock. One thing is that they don't have Apple Pay, bummer!

Daniel C.

Yelp
The level of customer service and treatment you get here is based on what race you belong to. I frequent this store a lot and my observation does not lie to me. There is a hierarchy of treatment you get here depending if you are white, Asian or black. I noticed the white folks get spoken to and acknowledged, the Asians are always ignored, and the blacks are always being watched. Of course that's not everyone that works there, but the majority of the ones do act this way.

Amazon does it again. I was picking up an order from the customer service desk and had a conversation with one of the store clerks. He introduced me to their cheese danish. OMG! Yum! They always have a good selection and FRESH produce.

Yelp
I had gone to this store months ago but stopped going because I had a terrible experience ordering ahead for their pizza. The app would be incorrect and the time it would take was so long. However, I thought they would get their act together by now. So after work, I decided to order ahead for pizza. I submitted my order at 8:20pm. The app told me that it was being prepared. However, after 35 minutes, I had gotten no notification that my pizza was ready. So I went up to the counter to ask if my pizza was ready. The man at the counter said there no record of my order. I showed him my app that stated that my pizza was being prepared. The employee said he would have to start a new order and that it would take an additional 20 minutes to make. I threw up my hands but said to go ahead. I wish the employee was more empathetic than a robot. I get my pizza an hour after I made my original order. I would have had my pizza quicker if I had ordered at the counter instead on the app. What's the point? So I go and pay for my pizza and ask to speak to a manager. The manager comes and I tell him about my experience. He doesn't apologize and blames the app. He says the app has been having issues and he wants to take pictures of my order to send to someone at Amazon. He showed no empathy and was acted just like a robot. I left spending over an hour to get a pizza. I'm never coming back to this store again. I don't know if the app messed up or the employee. However, I'm done trying to give this store and this app a chance. I work in customer service and first rule of customer service is to take responsibility. There was not of that here. It's a shame since this store is so close to me and I'd love to shop there. However, I'm going to be shopping elsewhere for my groceries.
