"Amazon’s self-serve, cashierless Amazon Go opens in San Francisco today. The fifth to open nationwide, the store at 300 California Street is mostly dedicated to serving grab-and-go food, snacks drinks, meal kits, and even sushi — naturally, it’s also selling Amazon’s own line of sandwiches. The big deal is the lack of supervision at checkout, and throughout the shopping experience. Hungry worker bees can scan their Amazon account via the Amazon Go app at the entrance, then shop freely throughout the store — freely with the exception of the many sensors and cameras tracking shoppers’ movements throughout the store and taking stock of what they’ve chosen for purchase. At the end of the experience, just leave — a digital receipt will appear in Amazon Go’s app. Like other food businesses that have centered their service models on automation — Eatsa, Creator — there are still humans behind the operation. The Amazon Go store has an offsite kitchen, staffed by humans who will prepare fresh items like sandwiches and salads each day. The retail giant has also given a nod to local restaurants like Dosa and La Boulangerie, who will provide fresh products like pastries and hummus. Microwaves and seating are available for those that choose to dine in; otherwise, busy office workers can literally dine and dash. The result is an upscale deli/grocery/drug store without lines, a draw in the heavily-trafficked financial district where everyone scurries out for lunch at noon (or, let’s be honest, 11 a.m.). That means no standing in lines during the midday rush, anxiously waiting for a burrito on the way to a meeting, or braving the line at a food truck." - Ellen Fort

I went to there at 12:30 PM on Wednesday. Since here is new and it's lunch time, so many people were there. I joined the line, and probably almost 50 people were there before me. However, I just waited 10 min. It's because we don't need to checkout here. It's an essential advantage here. I thought no cashier might be no stress, and it's really is!! I bought a cupcake and a bottled cold tea, and go outside. Everything was smooth. Also, the staff member told me this Amazon Go is the biggest one. They sell many things such as ready to eat lunch box, snacks, groceries, and souvenirs with Amazon Go logo. When I finished shopping there, Amazon sent me a receipt to my Amazon Go app. When you go there, my recommendation is download app before go!!

Interesting experience. Download the amazon go or shopping apps and add your amazon prime account to it in order to participate. In order to enter scan in the qr code. Only one person works the store. You basically have to pick items off the shelf and put them in a bag or your pockets. The app explains no one can take them off the shelves for you or it won't add it to your digital cart successfully. The store has sensors and cameras to see which customer bought what product. It has decent prices for water and deli/lunch products. There are stationary items but mostly food. No toiletry or over thr counter medicines. Finally, paper bags are 10 cents and fabric bags are 99 cents. When you leave the gates the digital cart completes the transaction.

Simple and easy shopping! There's no checkout line or cashiers, so the biggest bottleneck I usually face when getting groceries or food (the checkout part) is gone, and I simply walked out! It was a fun and novel experience. It is reminiscent of Whole Foods, where all the items are displayed neatly in quaint little shelves and the decor is pleasing to the eyes. I could go in, grab a snack, pop it in my pocket, and leave, all in under a minute!

A very cool store with a limited selection. Convenience store size amazon go is stocked like a Whole Foods with the prices to match. The staff here is very helpful and will help you with anything you need while you are here. A friend broke a mug when he left and they gave him a full refund. I hope these come to more cities.

Easy shopping and store is clean and sale staff are nice. If the sandwich's refrigerator is have a door will be better, even the sandwiches are wrapped, Because I saw that some people touched or took the sandwich somewhere else then put it back in the refrigerator again.

A strange experience the first time shopping at the store. You feel like you are shop lifting as there is no cashier or pay station. You simply download the app, login, enter the store, choose what you want and then exit the store. It is like a combination between a 7-11, Trader Joe’s and what used to be Fresh and Easy. You find pretty much anything you want including many prepared meals.

Amazon Go Store in the city of San Francisco California . How does this store work? Simple have an amazon account? Great then just download the Amazon go app, walk in, take whatever you want off the shelves and walk out. No lines. It was easiest shopping experience EVER. Amazon even tells customers the amount of time you can save just going in & out and it’s amazing. It is a far better convenience store experience than anything else, anywhere in the world! Amazon has 6 Amazon Go store (as of the time of this review) Seattle, San Francisco, & Chicago. with plans to roll out 3000 plus by 2021.

Very cool. Had to try it out being just round the corner. Friendly staff and slightly strange to "just walk out" but worked well. Receipt received both in the app and over email within a couple of hours.
