Amazonia was an unforgettable, wild experience from start to finish. We were greeted with a welcome shot made with Baileys and tequila, a fun start to the night! The cocktails were creative, unique, and expertly crafted. We sampled a little bit of everything…pizzas, skewers, meatballs, and tacos. Every single bite was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the creativity in every dish. We are already looking forward to trying the next menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exciting and flavorful night out!

Let me just say… Amazonia is a total vibe. From the lush, jungle-chic decor to the perfect lighting and music, it’s the kind of bar you walk into and instantly know you’re in for a good time. But what truly makes this place unforgettable is Ryan, the bartender. Hands down one of the best I’ve ever encountered — welcoming, insanely knowledgeable, and somehow manages to juggle a packed bar while still giving everyone personalized service. Now, let’s talk about the espresso martini he made me… 🚨 Life-changing. 🚨 Rich, smooth, perfectly balanced — just the right amount of kick to keep the night going without overpowering the flavor. It was velvety, bold, with that subtle sweetness that hits all the right notes. I’ve had a lot of espresso martinis in my time, but Ryan’s? Easily the best. It’s like he reached into my soul and served it in a chilled glass. If you’re heading to Amazonia, do yourself a favor — ask for Ryan, and order his espresso martini. You’ll thank me later. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cocktail heaven. Jungle vibes. Ryan is a legend.

Today is just one of those 5 ⭐️ days! I had a family member wanting to take me out to celebrate. I had no idea what I wanted to do. I just wanted to stay home than go to to a familiar restaurant. I can do that any day. I remembered a place someone recommended, when I looked it up it was closed on Sunday. So I said you know what, I would be happy with 🍕, but it had to be some where special that everyone would enjoy. I found Amazonia when searching. It sounded Amazing! They had signature cocktails on the menu for those who drink, specialty pizzas and small plates. I made a reservation and I was so excited they would have a live band. When we arrived it was a Taco Place!! I had to get out of the car and ask where is Amazonia. She said, it’s a Speakeasy, go through this door and it’s in the back. I went and got the rest of the guests. We were greeted by Luis, what a warm happy welcome. We sat at our table an I was so intrigued with everything. I ordered Margherita Cheese Pizza with sauce and basil, people in our party ordered small plates, tacos, salads, we had signature drinks and desserts. They also catered to two people who had food allergies. The food was amazing and we were all so happy with everything. Kyle - You were amazing and we Thank you for such a great experience. He said we could tour the second floor. They had like a dark Amazon theme on one side, Super Romantic I would say and a Sun side a bright colorful room. Love, love, loved it. As we walked outside and in front of the band, people were dancing Latin music and I just joined right in. Even one of our group went up and danced as well. She was so happy 😊❤️.

Absolutely blown away by Amazonia! This cocktail bar is a true gem. The drinks weren't just good; they were beyond incredible – creative, complex, and bursting with flavor. We tried A Love Letter to Me, Spirit in the Sky, Jungle Guardian, Blood Moon Rising and the Witch Doctor. Each cocktail felt like a mini-adventure, with fun and whimsical presentations that made the experience even more delightful. And let's not even get started on the special chorizo mac and cheese app ... seriously out of this world! But what truly elevated our visit was the exceptional service we received from Carlo. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Carlo made us feel so welcome and offered fantastic recommendations. His passion for his craft truly shines through. Amazonia is a must-visit! The unique cocktails, delicious food, and especially the incredible service from Carlo have made this a new favorite spot. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their offerings!

Amazonia Bar is such a vibe! The atmosphere is fun, vibrant, and perfect for a girls’ night out. The service was phenomenal—shoutout to our server Carlo who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He was friendly, attentive, and made our night extra special. The drinks were so fun and creative, and the whole place had such a great energy. Whether you're catching up with friends or celebrating something special, Amazonia is the perfect spot. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
Amazing experience! I’d give Amazonia a million stars if I could, but I’ll stick with 5 star review. We celebrated my friend’s birthday with a big group. The service was incredibly attentive. The manager and employees went out of their way to make us feel seen and attended to. We felt like most important guests. I have genuinely not seen that great of a service in a very long time. The food was very tasty and generous with ingredients. The drinks were delicious and perfectly put together. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with sun and moon rooms! I can’t say enough good things! I very highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for incredible experience all around - atmosphere, service, food, and drinks!

Honestly the drinks and the pizza was phenomenal! Our server Carol was super quick, helpful, fun and kind, definitely a must see in Lakewood! The decor here is insane. I will be back and can’t wait to show others this really cool spot! Also special mention to Louis! He was amazing too!

Yelp
You just have to find this genius-created Speakeasy for one of the most unique and wondrous - secret - place. On a residential street in Lakewood, and not noticed if you drive up Hopkins. Looks like one of their homes. Above, I meant to say . . . for one of the most unique and wondrous experiences you will have. Not necessarily kid friendly, but on that I really don't know. Yes. A place for adults to congregate in a comfortable atmosphere. So popular now that reservations are required Fridays and Saturdays. AH, THE BEST PARTS! Ask for a tour when you find the place. Like no other. Bathroom I could almost live in. Art abounds. Drinks are the raison d'etre. Yup, a page dedicated to each of their special drinks. Point here is, order from one of their specially-made drinks first. Ahhhh. The food? I hate mushroom soup, but I order theirs a lot. My friends have had their pizzas (big, gorgeous pizza oven), sandwiches, and other interesting items. My favorite is the beef tacos. They are 90% tender beef with a bit of cheese and their special sauce. Three per order, and I always take the last one home. My friends are in awe. Yes. A unique place to socialize. Staff is wonderful! I am remembered and welcomed every time. Not inexpensive, but hey, ya gotta live life right. YELP DOESN'T ALLOW EDITING AS YOU WRITE, so accept my errors.

Yelp
My first thought is Amazonia is Not as good as what it used to be. I've come here 3-4 times and bought many friends and family members here. I won't be recommending it anymore. Nothing on the menu last night on 5/24 blew us away like it did when Amazonia first opened. First, the chicken tinga and guac did not come with tostada like the menu said it would. It came with Tostitos chips. Also The consistency of the tinga was off, less chunky and more pasty. The Guac lacked seasoning, I was disappointed. My mom said the buratta pizza missed the mark, lacked a lot of flavor or balsamic, had little meat and that the pizza dough wasn't fully cooked. Every aesthetic detail about the decor Is thought out but more effort needs to be put toward making the food more tasty.

Yelp
I've been wanting to visit Amazonia for a while, so I was pleasantly surprised that there was a 5:30 reservation available on a Saturday night. Upon arrival you may question whether you're in the right space. There's no obvious sign or door to be seen from the street, but if you're cool, you'll figure it out eventually. The space is small and dark with red lighting throughout. The vibe is definitely cozy, mysterious, and sexy. There's a small bar as soon as you walk in, which I didn't expect. We were seated at a small two-top table with one side utilizing a large leather couch for seating. Very cozy and fun, but I think it made eating and drinking slightly difficult because it was pretty low. We ordered cocktails and a few appetizers to share. The ceviche was AMAZING. I enjoy all kinds of ceviche, but this was great. It was more of a cream base in addition to the acid/citrus, Peruvian style. The shrimp was perfectly cooked amongst some red onions, avocado and pineapple. I honestly could have drank the broth like soup. We also got the guacamole, which was also tasty. Super fresh avocados. Last, we shared a margherita pizza. The sauce was light and the crust was perfectly cooked but soft. Obviously not a ton of cheese, just the mozzarella, but I didn't miss it at all. I know the cocktails are supposed to be the focus of this place, but the food was definitely an unexpected star. I got the Mezcal cocktail, Cactus Flower. Good and had a pretty orange peel ice cube. I also got a paloma, that was refreshing and true to form. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp

Yelp
Ah yes, another gem in Lakewood. I visited Amazonia on a Saturday at 5:30pm with a friend. I was happy to snag a reservation the same day because all of the time slots between 5:30pm - 9:30pm were already secured. Generally a very good sign. I received a text 7 minutes before our reservation time advising that our table was ready and to reply if we were on the way. I over complicated things by second guessing my GPS when it told me I had arrived. If you're in front of a house on Hopkins St. towards the Madison intersection, then you're in the right place. Simply walk around the back (through the outdoor patio, which I would love to visit when the weather allows) and it is there that you will see an Amazonia sign. There are no giveaways on the front of the house whatsoever, so a true speakeasy vibe. I did notice that the porch has an electrical wheelchair ramp at the front of the house so 10 stars for accessibility, because there are a few stairs to get in the main entrance. There is not much space to stand upon arriving, as the host stand is immediately to your right and the bar is directly in front of you. It's tight but not uncomfortable. My friend and I were seated promptly and immediately settled into the vibe. I especially loved the lighting because it was moody and vibey without being too dark. I ordered two Palomas so I can't account for the craft cocktails just yet. We shared the ceviche, margarita pizza, and guacamole. The ceviche stole the show easily and the pizza was a solid second. There are no desserts so plan to indulge your sweet tooth elsewhere. Heads up that the tables are smidge small so you may want to ask for your selections to be sent to the kitchen a bit apart so there's enough space to enjoy without being overcrowded. Our server was lovely, and even managed to gently advise when we reached our 2 hour table limit. Completely understandable! I shall indeed be back soon. Very nice treat to have Amazonia right here in our Lakewood backyard.

Yelp
For a speakeasy theme I do wish we were able to look for the entrance ourselves instead of being told. Once inside though it was super cute! The drinks were yummy and unique but a tad pricy! The sandwich was good but not to the extent of going back. The edible ant drink was unique. Would only go back if friends are looking for a speakeasy in the area.

Yelp
Wow, what a night! First time visiting Amazonia and let me tell you, it was an awesome night! There is an eclectic drink menu, not only visually appealing but they taste great as well. What is really unique about the ambiance is the dim lighting (very romantic!) & the fact that this restaurant is actually an old Lakewood home! So unique. The downside is the menu is all small plates, so if you're hungry you may need to order 2 plate to be full like I did. Would love to see larger plates, however I suppose small plates are this place's vibe and I'm cool with that. Would recommend for a night out with friends or a cute date night. Give it a try!

Yelp
Was so excited to see this new trendy cocktail bar/restaurant! Came on a Friday night and even though they were busy, it was super easy to make a reservation the day before with plenty of spots open. There is street parking and hola tacos has some parking too. I surprisingly really enjoyed the pizza! Love the wood fried crust and fun fact I believe the owner or chef actually went to Italy to learn how to perfect pizza! The cocktails were yummy and I love the menu descriptions of the story behind the cocktails. The ants for the "heart of the rainforest" is fun to try and has a teeny crunch but they're also soaked in honey so it didn't taste bad for how daunting as it looked. Cool place to check out for a dark comfy ambiance!

Yelp
With the jungle speakeasy vibes, Amazonia is a hidden gem of Lakewood for sure. You enter the establishment and are instantly transported to a new world. It's dimly lit with red mood lighting and along with R&B/lounge background tunes, there are soft animal and cricket noises that make you feel like you're actually in the jungle! The ground level has more bar and lounge style seating, while the upstairs has table seating. We came on a Saturday night and had rounds of drinks - smoke signals & cactus flower were our selections. Each was tasty, unique in flavor, and very spirit forward. To eat, we had the margherita pizza, tacos and tostadas. The food hot and well prepared and service was quick. Our server Daniel took great care of us all night! Come for the vibes, stay for the food, drinks and great atmosphere!! I would highly recommend checking out Amazonia for date night or with one or a few friends!

Yelp
Made a reservation for 4 people 3 weeks in advance. Give yourself at least 5 minutes to find parking in the area. From the outside you'd never tell there was a swanky place inside. We came to enjoy drinks and the food. They had 4 options for mockails, sweet, floral, sour, and fruity (hope I remembered those correct). Tried the sour and really enjoyed it! The rest of the group also loved their cocktails. All very unique but curated to still be well balanced. Our server Daniel was very nice, attentive, and helpful. We ordered two pizzas, margarita and pistachio and wow were they delicious. The sauce was the star. I wish I could take jars home. Fresh, acidic, salty, just yum. We also ordered the guacamole that was really tasty and the caprese salad that was lovely as well. Very cool spot inside and highly recommend for your next friendly gathering or date night.

Yelp
WOW is this place cool! You have to walk behind the neighboring taco place and through what feels like someone's back patio to find the door. This hidden gem is sultry, dark, moody, mellow, and absolutely fantastic. Make a reservation! We didn't have reservations but found a seat at the bar. We were lucky because the tiny place filled up fast. The cocktail menu is incredibly intricate, unique, fresh, and delicious ...you will not be disappointed. We went for the ceviche and the guac and the pistachio pizza. All wonderful...especially the pizza! I found myself texting friends pictures of the drinks and atmosphere because this little spot is just so dang cool. We will certainly be back.

Yelp
I recently experienced a delightful evening at Amazonia Bar. The craft cocktails were exceptional! The taste and uniqueness, were truly noteworthy. The wood-fired pizza is a focal of the food menu and I was so surprised how much I enjoyed their pitschio pizza-- truly a unique flavor. The knowledgeable staff provided impeccable service, ensuring a memorable visit. There is only street parking and the venue is more suited for intimate gatherings rather than large parties. I recommend securing a reservation in advance to enhance the overall experience. Definitely great date night spot!

Yelp
Tuesday was a a good night to ensure we'd get a table as it was a little bit slower, but service was great. Each employee helped take care of the tables / teamwork. Music was a tad loud, but the overall atmosphere is cozy. I am still dreaming about the Champignon Pizza because it was delicious. Don't overthink the drink menu details, trust the bartenders! The Monkey's Gone To Heaven is dangerously delicious and an absolute must if you like bananas! Cannot wait to go back a third time!

Yelp
This place might just be my favorite spot in Cleveland. The drinks are amazing - really some of the best I've EVER had but definitely the best I've had around town lately. The wood fired pizzas are really good, too. The vibes are dark, sexy and intimate.

Yelp
Finally Lakewood has a speakeasy! Absolutely gorgeous inside; the entire room when you walk in is bathed a calm n sensual red glow. The bartenders are so sweet and friendly and incredibly knowledgable. My partner had the poison dart frog and a manhattan and I had The flora & fauna and the jungle cat. All four drinks were soooo good and pretty strong. Amazonia is definitely on the pricier side, but it's wellll worth it for the ambiance and the super tasy drinks. We didn't get to try the food this time but hopefully next time we will!

Yelp
Such a wonderful hidden gem, a bit tricky to find but that only added to the fun. The ambiance was inviting yet myterious. We sat at the bar but did take the opportunity to walk around and see the rest of the place. They have a sun room and a moon room, lighting appropriate to each. The service was fantastic and the drinks were fun and flavorful! I hope if you are reading these reviews you don't pass this place up! But make a reservation, they get busy and it's quite small. T

Yelp
Great service, intimate mood, and amazing drinks. I only have the guacamole and chips, but it was probably the best I've ever had.

Monica W.

Yelp
Cocktails and pizza were great. I've tried 3 of the cocktails and they were creative and well done from a flavor profile and presentation standpoint. I've had the mushroom pizza both times I visited, the crust is delicious and chewy, the balance of cheese and mushrooms are good and the mushroom soup dipping sauce is brilliant. I've been on Wednesday nights twice, my initial visit I felt welcomed and the staff were engaging and nice. My second visit I felt unwelcome, there was a different staff and I felt like an intruder. The hostess seemed taken aback that I wanted to sit at the bar. So I only bought a single drink and took my pizza togo.

Yelp
The drinks were very good and the food was interesting. Great ambiance. However, after only an hour (my husband had not yet even finished his second $16 dollar cocktail) the server came over and told us we had to leave. She explained they were very busy and the table was needed for the next guest! This was a Saturday night and we HAD a reservation. We were shocked. An HOUR. The manager then came over and said we could stay another 10 minutes. We weren't causing trouble or making noise - just sitting, trying to enjoy a cocktail. We have never been kicked out of a restaurant (with a $125 bill) after an hour. So if you go to this restaurant- plan on drinking quick and shoveling in that food. Never again.

Yelp
What a little gem. Visiting my family and my cousin wanted to try something new. We were all pleasant surprises place was funky fun. food really good especially the pull pork, artichoke pizza, chicken tings tostado AMAZING The drinks were fun and sometime surprising its all about the details

Yelp
Im hooked. First visit last night. Still thinking about it this morning... Walking into a home converted to lounge/cocktail bar. What could be more welcoming. Ambiance ++++++ Just come -- i dont want to spoil your first impression. Super cool, artistic and fun cocktail menu. Staff members: chic, hip, cool, sweet... Good vibes.... Took my world traveled cousin from san Francisco -- who fell in love at first site and remarked "how did you find this place" 3 of us shared 3 plates: all tasty, plenty of food.... Pleased with the cocktails.... Again, dont want to spoil your 1st experience....Just make a date and see for yourself. The music was great and i love how the bill was presented... If you are disappointed, well, im sorry for you ...

Yelp
Love the ambiance. Did not love that they were out of 3 drinks we tried to order and there was a hair in my drink. I'd be willing to try them again

Yelp
Funky place. Old house, entrance in back. Lots of intimate rooms on two floors. Great cocktails and nice small plates! Pleasantly surprised. We'll be back.

Yelp
Excellent food, insanely great drinks, and even better service. Please check this place out, it's awesome.

Yelp
First time at Amazonia. Tucked away, a bit hard to find, sparse parking and ultimately right behind Hola Taco. Ambiance is comfortable tropical and dark (upstairs anyway) maybe too dark, but fun. Staff were welcoming, very nice. We had tacos and pizza. Tacos were very good, highly recommended. We had a pistachio pizza that was also good but much preferred the tacos. The drinks are the items that were the most interesting. I had the Smoke Signals cocktail. Tasty, outright entertaining. One of the more unusual drinks I've had. Entertaining. The other drink was Flora and Fauna which was very tasty, also more traditional in taste. Maybe next time I will try the one with edible ants.

stephanie g.

Yelp
The cocktails and ambiance were amazing! A bit hidden and off the beaten path but that lends well to the overall experience and exclusivity. The food is decent with an interesting blend of South American and random things like pizza which was odd but we enjoyed. Ceviche + Margherita pizza were our favs.
