Authentic Punjabi food at very reasonable prices. REALLY tasty food! Great food overall.. fresh, flavorful North Indian done right The saag with makki di roti was sooo good!!! Saag was creamy, perfectly spiced and when paired with the corn flatbread grilled to buttery perfection.. GAME OVER. Suji halwa was tasty too.. warm MADE with right amount of ghee Service is quick counter-style despite the crowds. Definitely one of the better food places in Artesia. They have sugarcane juice too.. fresh and tasty!

The food, service, and ambiance are unparalleled. It is absolutely amazing! This is one of the best places in the area with authentic food. Would strongly recommend. The people are so amazing and nice as well!

Excellent catering experience at Ambala Sweets & Snacks, Pioneer Blvd! Ordered samosas and jalebis for an event—ordering was easy, they helped with quantities, and everything was ready on time. The samosas were fresh and still hot even an hour later, and the jalebis were absolutely amazing. Pricing was reasonable, and the service was thoughtful, including help loading the car. Special thanks to Vijay and the older gentleman for great communication. Highly recommend!

Their aloo paratha and paneer paratha are our comfort food. Soooo sooooo good. The food was hot fresh and delicious. The only time that I’d suggest to get me to give them 5* is if they could give more chole. More chole and less raita would be perfect. We will be back…again. Loved the food and loved the service.

Love this place. The chole bhature is the definition of comfort food. So delicious. I come here everytime I come to Artesia. Sweets are also top tier. Owner is so nice. 10/10!

I love this place the best Indian sweets and very good food as well. Fresh sugar cane juice. Seriously good jalebi and laddu. The kaju katli is my favorite for sweets. Also they are nice so even if you aren't familiar with the names it's easy to order.

I and my wife went to see Diwali festivities and decided to eat dinner at this place and we ordered separate dishes for both of us.The lady on the counter wrote our order on a notepad.The starter part of the order came and while waiting for the rest half we started sharing the partial order. More than half hour passed and no food came. We asked a counter person as to what happened to the order and he was dismissive( it takes time). Shortly thereafter the lady who took the order gestured us to make the payment. We assumed that she wanted the payment made before she would release the order. We made the payment and went back to where we were seated waiting for food that never came .We waited and waited and no food came and after nearly an hour had passed and we approached the counter again. The Lady who took our order had no clue that she was supposed to bring our food. She did not even know what we had ordered. Meanwhile others had come and dined and left while we were waiting there for an hour. After an hour we had to remind the lady again what we had ordered and paid for and showed her the receipt. She began at this point to prepare the food we had ordered. and she began to prepare carry out instead of dine in as we had requested. By this time we were so upset and did not feel like eating and we asked for refund for the food that was not given. The environment in the shop is horrible with people going back and forth and these people are not responsive at all. We saw customers going behind the counter getting their tea. This was our second such encounter at this place. we came home and prepared food at home late at night. The whole episode made us angry and we lost the charm of Diwali festivities. I hope they can get their service in order and get some trained people to work at the counter

I do not recommend this place. The vada pav was bland and came with burger buns. The Dani chat had an imli chutney which was red colored. The poori Bhaji was bland and oily. There was no substance to the dish. . Super disappointed with the food here. The kachori chat was like chole ki sabji. Won’t recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get Indian food.

Very cordial and lovely laid back atmosphere- you feel like you are in India- surrounded by warm, lovely people. Great food- their alu paratha is my favorite most meal in the whole world. great sweets, great service, very down to earth and kind staff. I lived in artesia and ONLY went to this restaurant because of their food and warmth.

Once upon a time, another Yelp-worthy find! What a wonderful place to enjoy sumptuous desserts. We ordered the yogurt ice cream and two lovely cakes. Not a crumb was left! Highly recommend a stop here. The end.

I started eating here in the 80s, when a friend from South India took me there. I've been going back regularly ever since. I almost always order the same thing, which is the #2 Combo. It includes perhaps the best Chana Masala I've ever had, a truly remarkable Samosa, a densely delicious semi-savory cake in yogurt, a mix of pickle (lately, they've been adding lemon pickle, which is divine!) and raw onion, a choice of flat breads (we got the Poori), and a pillowy cake floating in a pool of sweet milk. The combo also comes with the classic red/green sauce (tamarind and cilantro[?]), which makes everything taste better. I almost always get a chai tea. The menu is vast, which can feel daunting until you realize that half of it describes the various confections, and savory snacks, on offer in the case. Most are sold by the pound. Be courageous, and try something. If you've never had golob jamun, for example, prepare to have your mind blown. I'm particularly fond of the Chilli Pakora, which is a whole breaded deep fried chili stuffed with seasoned potato. I'm also fond of their spiced cashews. Their mango lassi is very popular, and I'd get it if I weren't so lactose intolerant. This place is super casual. You can order at one of two kiosks, or at the counter. The owner, Mr. Singh, is often there in his elegant red turban, always happy to answer questions. All of the staff is friendly, and everything comes out quickly, brought out on cafeteria trays, and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Bussing is self-serve but, if you need anything, just ask. They recently upgraded the tables and chairs, which are quite nice, and even added a few outside for alfresco dining. (We used to bring our dog, and he'd sit outside with us.) Inside, they've gone out of their way to make the place look festive, with brightly colored garlands, and other beautiful decorations. Ambala Sweets & Snacks has reasonable prices, excellent food, great service, and a super casual vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

They have the best samosa chat in town! Pair it with hot tea and it's perfect! Parmjit Uncle is the best - always gives me a FREE KULFI

The service was okay, not nice but gets the job done. The place is pretty crowded and the area for sugar and such hasn't been cleaned in a while. The chai was honestly not even chai, like flavored milk. Please don't get it, no amount of sugar helps it. The sweets are okay but the experience is very overwhelming.

I love this place, for years it hasn't disappointed...the sweets are good and the food is hot and fresh! Sometimes the service is a bit or miss but usually they are friendly enough to the non native. It's a clean place but be mindful that it can get crowded really fast and seating is limited. Be sure prepared to take food togo if you come during rush hours!

Rasgulla so good. This was my second time coming here and I definitely will be coming back! Both times that I've been here, the Rasgulla hasn't been on the self order kiosk but there's always someone behind the counter to help out. Would recommend you come to just try out a new sweet treat.

Everything from sweets to food is fresh and the best in LA area. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it never disappoints. They also do catering for events and I couldn't be more pleased. Everything was made fresh, like homemade and everyone complimented the food. The staff is professional and friendly. The place is clean and vibes are just like India.

This is my go to spot for samosas to go in Artesia California. It only looks like they have two on the shelf except they freshly fry them whenever you order them. Dollar 50 apiece with all the sauces, etc. lots of nice other snacks. Owner and his crew were amazing. Will be there over and over again. Keep on bringing these back to my roomate as a nice surprise. Amazing, authentic Punjabi food in Cerritos/ Artesia. We had the Aloo paratha, gobi paratha, and channa bhatura. Everything was fantastic, but my favorite was the channa bhatura. They were huge, and had great taste. The owner also gave us masala chai on the house. Great experience, we will be back!

This is the best Kulfi outside of India. From the first bite to the last, you can tell it's made in house because there are no artificial flavors added. All natural. All authentic. If you're missing the motherland, come to Ambala and escape!

The food was amazing, the service was great! Very friendly. The flavors were very authentic, we took home multiple pounds of treats for later. Fabulous!

im not culture enough unfortunately. wow i tried to go out of my comfort zone and try new foods but i don't think they were for me. we got the 1 lb sweets box and since we didn't know what anything was we just pointed to a bunch of random ones and was like oh this one oh that one. omg so humbled and uncultured i genuinely felt so bad. but i didn't expect it to taste like that. some of them was almondy and i hate almonds like the dryness but oh well. but then others were like wet dough like the same texture as tres leches which was interesting but not my style. maybe it will grow on me as i learn to eat more foods. sorry for being a sheltered person who has only has like 3 types of cuisines MAX for most of her entire life wow.

I being experienced last more than 20 years .they have awesome Indian sweets and snacks specially fermented food dosa idly southern Indian food and so delicious and healthy options. And specially owner parmjit and employees giving us very welcome attention .

Went there were with high hopes looking at reviews and was greatly disappointed. Greasy food. Food felt stale. The place is dingy and not clean. Even the dessert was less than mediocre. We did not finish anything in our order! Ordered : hawla poori Chana, Dosa, pani puri, kachori, paneer pakora, paneer paratha, Kala jamun, chai and mango lassi.

They are so professional!!! We went at the last minute but they accepted our order! I'm so glad for their gesture. And the sweets! Just too good. 10/10 for me.

We had the pakoras: veggie mix & paneer, they were amazing. Their veggie pakoras are delicious, fresh and great appetizers. We had street dosa, they always customized it for my mom because she can't have anything spicy at all. They have upgraded their restaurant, it looks amazing and friendly staff. Had various sweets: rasgula, chum chum and kaju barfi, all very good.

For almost twenty five years now I am a regular visitor to this shop for purchase of different flavors of mithaiis and foods. All found to be good but most favorite is Sarson Ka Saag and Makki Ki Roti. It is worth trying it, will love it .

good food, good service, and very caring team. The team went above and beyond, made sure we do not go hungry even though they were almost closing and the kitchen was also closing, they made sure we with our small kid, still get what we wanted and they waited patiently for us while we finish our food. We ordered chana batura and Dahi Bada with Samosa. We really like chana batura it was piping hot and delicious. Samosa was also really good. I just have one recommendation for Dahi Bada, dahi was soooo cold that it couldn't taste anything else. Otherwise it was a pretty good place and I would definitely recommend it!!

They overcharge me for the first time here. I've been going ever since our friend recommended this place for good chai tea and Indian sweets. I brought my container as I always do for $7 to save their paper cups and THEY CHARGE ME TODAY for $12 FOR TUMBLER. I asked how much per cup they charge now and they said $2. So since they charge me $12, it should be 6 cups and would fill 2 big tumblers. I only brought 1 tumbler. I feel so bad when they over charge you. Next time, I will just buy per cup and use their cups and I'll just transfer it. It just not right!! 2 guys were talking in their language so I don't know what they're talking when I asked why $12 for my tumbler. I knew it that there is something wrong but I just let go. Now it doesn't feel right and I have to leave a review when they just guess the price. They should have pour the tea in their usual cup and just transfer it to my tumbler so they know how many cups they used.

It's a great place for Indian desserts. I go here when I am craving jalebi. They also have a large selection of savory snacks.

Authentic Punjabi style comfort food served with love in a no frills strip mall location. The chaat is excellent. The vegetable pakoras are delicious. The Chhole Bhature have great flavor and their sweets are superb.

I've been coming here for over 15 years and I still love it every time I come the food is amazing. The desserts are authentically made with very high-quality ingredients. I never thought my kids would like the food because the flavors can be strong, but they totally love it. They've been eating it Their whole lives and it's made them love Indian food very much. Staff are very friendly and polite. very nice place even the customers are very nice polite people very nice place to come and have something delicious.

The owner, Paramjit Singh, and his wife Manjit are two of the most wholesome and nicest people anyone can meet. They are always offering chai and sweets every time we walk in. It shows their tremendous hospitality. Very nice and cozy ambiance. The food is always hot and fresh and full of flavor. We will always come here when we visit Artesia to say hi to them!!

Papdi Chaat 5/5: FLAVORFUL, delicious! I would be back for this and the chaat alone. Dahi Sev Puri 4/5: Puri with yogurt and crunchy sev, drizzled with red and green chaatni (hot sauce), the yogurt helps balance the spices! I asked for a side of the "pani" (water, tamrind and mint sauce) used in the standard pani puri. The gentleman was kind and gave me a generous portion! Pani Puri 2.5/5: The pani lacks flavor and is too watered down. Skip. Masala Dosa 1.5/5: This is NOT a Punjabi dish and this resturant is. IF Dosa is your go to I'd skip getting it at this joint! The potatoes are rarely spiced and though this is where the dal traditionally shines, not in this case! Try it for yourself though, I'm surprised at how many people I heard order this! Chai 3.5/5: Well made. Not strong the way I prefer but NO points docked for personal preference! Doesn't taste super instant (always a good thing), lightly spiced. Best of all they use cream for the base, as the chai is thick and not watery, full bodied. Desserts 4/5: Fresh variety and majority of the desserts don't taste saturated in sugar. Cleanliness 3.5/5: They are understaffed hence the help wanted sign on the front window. Can't necessarily hold this against them. However the glass dessert display can use a thorough clean. Especially with so many up and coming, trendy restaurants opening, these well established but under developed restaurants need a boost. Customer Service 3.5/5 Love to support my Punjabi sikh brothers. Would definitely be back but only for the chaat and the chai, possibly desserts to go. Nothing else though. Located in Artesia's Little India district, Ambala Sweets and Snacks has been offering great tasting vegetarian snacks and some mouth watering Indian sweets for almost 40 years. Parking is always a bit of a pain here as they share a small lot with some other shops. There is some parking in the back as well as street parking. I used to get my Indian snack fix here but now frequent another shop a few stores down. However the Indian sweets (mithai) are so fresh and good here! Indian Sweets [mithai] ($10 a lb.) - I got a mixed sweet box and chose some kalakand (sweetened milk cake), milk burfi (dense milk based sweet), pistachio burfi and some halwa. All of the sweets were so fresh tasted great. The kalakand was moist and had the consistency of crumbled feta and was my favorite followed closely by the milk burfi. I really enjoyed the taste of each of the sweets, they aren't overly sweet. The pistachio mithai had a nice pistachio flavor but wasn't as moist as the other sweets. Overall, Ambala Sweets and Snacks is a great place to get one's fix for vegetarian snacks and sweets. Another popular item here are the jalebis (deep fried flour batter that is then dipped into a sweet syrup, $6 a lb). Prices are reasonable for everything here. They have opened up a location in Anaheim, but I don't know if its as good as this location in Artesia.

We went to 4 different places to taste test the Flooda Drink (Ambala, Surti, Rasraj, and Flavor of India). The flooda drink from this restaurant had the most quality and quantity, and the price wasn't bad compared to the rest.

My family and I love Ambala Sweets. We are Indian and have tried lots of Indian sweet shops. Ambala is the best one in Southern California! Our personal favorite sweet is Kalakand... Try it! I highly recommend and the men who run the shop are very sweet and gave us complimentary tea as well.

It's strange I missed this spot all these years! Authentic, home style yummy gold that's affordable. Came here with my entire family including my parents who are visiting from India. The Choley has to be the most delicious I've had so far... parathas are freshly made and sumptuous! My mom ordered Aloo Poori and she was very happy because it reminded her of Aloo poori she had in mussori many decades earlier! Food portion is generous, almost every item we ordered came with a side of raita, salad and or sweet. For people who love hot food - food here is served piping hot:) We even bought their flaxseed ladoo and dal ladoo- both of which we liked and came back for seconds. Mr. Paramjit is nice to talk to and welcoming. Check it out - you won't be disappointed.

Such a very welcoming vibe, coming in here. They tell you off the bat that it's all vegetarian. As a carnivore, I appreciate that. Not a disappointment in sight. The food is so flavorful, beyond my expectations for the value received. They care to walk you through the dishes, which change on a daily basis, nonetheless, amazing! Best part is the desserts, they put love and pride into their products. I highly recommend the freshly made, spicy potato samosas, the paneer saag, tasty salad and oh boy, the honey dipped donut holes. Please give them a try, well worth it

We ordered two mooli parathas and one aloo tikki chaat. The food was good. The sweets were yummy. The biggest disappointment was the mindless usage of plastic cutlery and boxes. We have just one planet and wish people (the restaurant owners and us in general) were more mindful towards the pollution and try our best to reduce waste. Not everything has to be calculated against monetary profits all the time!!

The service was amazing. I would highly recommend the gulab jamun and jalebi from them. Parmjit and the other workers were very nice.

Asked for gajar halwa , when came home , opened the box it was gajar halwa burfi and really bad quality , worse jelaibies and habshi halwa- I do not recommend this place at all. I have no clue , how they have gotten 4 stars rating.

Love this place! I've been coming here since I was a kid. Great food, great service. Their chaat, parathas, batura, and kalakand are really good. The owner is so friendly and took such great care to make sure my picky toddler had a great meal!

Came in to get my samosa chaat fix and was surprised to see the new seating and furniture! It really makes the place feel more like a dhaba or diner than before. Come check it out! They've got cholay patooray and plenty of sweets too. Great guys running the place too! Keep up the good work everyone.

I only went to buy sweets bc it was Diwali. They had my favorite, patisa. The ambiance was basically a typical Indian grocery store with à la carte food service and some tables outside to eat. It was sufficient and the hot food looked quite good. The patisa I bought was pretty good (I'd say 3.75/5) compared to my favorite spot back in Jackson Heights in Queens, NY. But the folks working there are very friendly and welcoming which is always a plus!

The Chat, Channa Puri, Chole Bhatura, Dal muth along with sweets specially Jalebi, Kaju katri, differrent kinds of Ladoos, Barfi and Pendas, along with Gulab Jambus and teas are VERY GOOD at this clean location and BEST FAST SERVICE. You should try, Recommended by Anil.

This place was incredible! Preservative and artificial crap free. :-) They let me sample most of the items in a safe and careful manner. They take COVID seriously there and happy the place was so clean and well organized. Fell in love with a few items and had to return to get seconds. Happy friendly customer service with a not too sweet offering found in India. Wished they had the chocolate barfi/burfi as that was a close favorite in New Delhi. Can't wait to return!
