Wood‑fired Mexican cooking, handmade tortillas, and the state’s most expansive agave collection animate this art‑deco showpiece. Frequently noted by travel editors, it captures the parallel cultures of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.

We had the best brunch at Ambar Restaurant — hands down some of the best food in El Paso. If you’re here, this is a must. I’d come back anytime just to eat here. And a special shout-out to Melissa, who truly went the extra mile and treated us like royalty 👑 What a perfect way to spend New Year’s. From huevos rancheros and pancakes to horchata, coffee, and spicy margaritas — every bite was delicious. Thank you for the amazing hospitality. We felt so well taken care of 🤍✨

There are "high-end" independent restaurant groups that are far more expensive, yet don't come close to the quality and service you'll experience at Ambar. This was my introduction to the food scene in El Paso, and I was pleasantly surprised. For the level of service, food and drinks we received, I could have easily spent $200+ per person at another restaurant, but was well below that here. I will always recommend this spot, and look forward to my next visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great experience overall at Ambar Restaurante in El Paso. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome the entire time. The food did take a while to come out, but once it arrived it was well worth the wait. The guacamole was top notch, fresh and full of flavor, and the grilled chicken tinga was absolutely out of this world — easily the standout dish of the meal. One item I’d skip next time is the salmon ceviche, which just didn’t hit the mark for us. Despite the slower kitchen pace, the quality of most dishes and the great service made this a very enjoyable visit. We’ll definitely be back.

Ambar is an exceptional dining experience in downtown El Paso. The food is outstanding, beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and crafted with great attention to detail. The restaurant has a modern, upscale Mexican ambiance that feels both elegant and inviting. Its location inside the Plaza Hotel adds to the charm, making it perfect for a night out or a special occasion. Service was attentive and professional throughout. A must-try spot if you’re looking for high-quality dining in El Paso!

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to get a little dressed up and have an elevated night out in downtown El Paso, AMBAR is that excuse wrapped in gold lighting and Latin rhythm. This place oozes modern sophistication — think sleek amber tones, warm lighting, and a menu that feels equal parts art and indulgence. They have an entirely separate vegan menu (bless them for that), which instantly won me over. I had a vegan beet tamale that was this unexpected harmony of earthy and elegant — like a culinary poem about balance. My husband went for the chicken tinga, which he said was “perfection on a plate.” I’ll also go on record saying their guacamole might just be the best in El Paso — perfectly seasoned, bright, and unapologetically fresh. Our waitress was phenomenal — the kind of server who feels like a new friend by the end of the night. She sat with us, chatted about everything from local food culture to the downtown revival, and made the whole evening feel personal. They also have mocktails that are actually crafted — not just juice in a fancy glass. Every sip, every bite, every moment at AMBAR felt curated with intention. In short, this is the kind of place that gives you a reason to wear something nice, order something new, and remember why dining out can still feel like an experience.

A true gem inside the Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park! Ambar is a beautiful wood-fire Mexican cuisine restaurant that seamlessly blends culture, tradition, and fresh, authentic ingredients with modern presentation. Every dish we tried—from breakfast to dinner—was thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and artfully presented. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which made the whole experience even more special. We were staying at the Plaza Hotel and ended up returning to Ambar multiple times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—it was that good! The atmosphere is inviting, the flavors are bold, and the attention to detail is outstanding. This restaurant was an absolute delight, and I would definitely come back again. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying the service at Ambar was exceptional from the hostess to our server. Aileen offered drink and entree suggestions. She was friendly checking on us often. I ordered the tequila flight, she thoroughly explained the differences. We ordered Cesar salad to start. It was light with a creamy and unique Tijuana Cesar dressing. The 16 oz Ribeye had a tasty char. However, a salsa verde topping didn't add to the flavor of the steak. A highly anticipated rack of lamb left us disappointed. Again, the char on the lamb added more flavor than the marinade. The lamb was bland. Yet the mashed potatoes in both dishes were delightful. The digital menu is very innovative.

From the moment we walked in the service was fantastic! We had the shareable chicken and the taste was impeccable! The different flavors of salsa they had changed each bit and each them tasty! I ordered the lamb rack, the flavor from the way this was cooked was fantastic. The potatoes and asparagus that it was paired with definitely gets 5 stars alone.
