Four of us recently had a medium-sized meal (limited number of appetizers and platters) for about $100 with 3 glasses of house wine--definitely did not seem overpriced. We all thought the food was very good, no complaints from any of us. We would eat there again and came away thinking that this restaurant is under-rated.

I think Amber Dhara may have gotten up to a bad start, because friends have complained about the poor service and food quality when they first opened. Looking for a nice spot for drinks in the Mission, where you don't want to fight crowds and may actually want a seat, is tough. I was shocked - SHOCKED! - when we walked by Amber and noticed they had a happy hour on Friday night that went until midnight and included drink and food specials! The food was really good, and an interesting take on Indian food. For food flavora nd quality I much prefer it over Aslam, although it's a tough comparison because Aslam is more traditional. Overall, very friendly and prompt service, modern-ish looking interior (kind of odd with the colored lights if you ask me, but to each their own), and tasty modernized Indian food. Drinks were pretty good, and did I mention - what an amazing deal! I would absolutely return for brunch to check out their unlimited brunch and mimosas!

Excellent food - well prepared - not overpriced. Improvises on traditional Indian style. Over priced in my opinion - will not survive with these prices. Music also a bit too loud.

Delivery experience only. First, it came 45 minutes late, even though ordered a day in advance. Sigh. It was all cold. No cutlery was provided, even though it clearly said to include it on my slip. There was also no way to specify spice levels when ordering online, which I found really strange. The food was ok. Probably better than most indian delivery. They do use higher end ingredients. I'm sure it would have been better at the restaurant. Cilantro garlic naan: Limp, soggy, cold. Very moist from condensation in the foil. Obviously, not good. I threw it in the toaster oven and it crisped up fine. From what I could tell, this would have been unremarkable naan even if fresh. It didn't have a char to it or anything. There was a small amount of garlic, but again, nothing notable. Saag Paneer: The dish was pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Chopped up greens that did indeed taste fresh. Chunks of onion too. The greens weren't mushy, and really tasted quite bright. Decently spiced, although, not remotely "spicy". I would have liked some heat. There was a generous amount of paneer, small cubes, again, all fresh tasting. A bit squeaky, but otherwise, well prepared, and I'm guessing house made? Best saag paneer I've had in recent memory. Rice Kheer: Basic rice pudding. Creamy sauce. Some slivered almonds. Not much spicing. Way too sweet, and I love sweet.

Had a delicious vegetarian dinner here from their 5-course offering. Excellent food but left still a bit hungry. On the pricy side; great for a special occasion.

I liked it, however it seems to be priced higher than it should be. I noticed that even the butter chicken was $18, not including Naan or rice. The bathroom is beautiful, though!

Great spot for happy hour - their drinks and small plates are all pretty good. Nice vibe and service is always friendly.

Recently opened, a bit rough still. Food is commonplace, tastes familiar. Service tries or doesn't, depending. Needs more thought.
