Might be the expectation was too high, but was ensured the reality check was done properly! One of the worst food in the Bay Area… Miserable menu selection for a Valentines Day Dinner, too little quantity, strange chicken do pyaza recipe with overpowering salt and garlic, shrimp curry was overpowering garlic flavor as well with 4 shrimps from Costco… Rice was 60% cooked… Coming to the desert - one kulfi was distributed to two, maintaining the standards of minimized quantity…seems evident the desert was outsourced from Indian Groceries… The plates served were even broken… Now coming to the invoice, seriously, $389??? A gratuity of 18% charged…

We went for their weekend buffet with high expectations. The spread was good with a variety of vegetarian options as well. But the quality was average. Their a la carte food is more innovate and fresh. Sadly the buffet was just a regular one. It will cost you about 30/person and you are probably better off at a run of the mill $10 buffet place. What shocked me was the service. I've been to the Santana Row Amber a few times in the past, and the service has gradually degraded. One of the waiters sulked and sighed when we asked for garlic naan. He just assumed we would have the regular one and when we expressed our choice he was clearly dissatisfied. Shouldn't you be asking first? This is not the Amber I know. Anyways, avoid the buffet.

Four of us came her on Friday night. The food when finally arrived after a significant and noticeable delay was delicious but a bit cold. What saved us from starving was the crispy this bread which was salty as hell. My favorite of the dishes were the Nimbu Chicken appetizier which I had with Naan. I alsoreally like the sauce that srounded the Nutty Egg Plant dish. Rest of the stew dishes were too spicy to a point where it was hard to taste flavors. We also order rice which was a good combo with the stew dishes. Overall the service was too slow for a return visit.

Good food. Awesome taste. There were a great variety of options and both the veg and non veg options were delicious. The cocktails menu were extensive as well. Overall had a nice experience considering it was a week before Christmas and pretty crowded.

Amber in Santana Row, has dropped its food quality and raised prices. We ordered cayenne paneer Tikka, one of the worst tikkas ever. No salt, no taste, no cayenne, instead topped with cheapo crushed olives.. Dumb veg biryani presentation was good with lack of flavour. Paneer parmesan kulcha was the most flavourful of 3 dishes. Will not go there again... Such dissapointment...

One of the great authentic Indian places in the Bay Area . Everything served here is of the highest quality and adheres to authenticity and freshness Our favorite is their afternoon lunch buffet , the Santa Row location currently has Friday and weekend buffet and the Los Altos location has sat/sun buffet I would eat the buffet only for the endless goat curry and naan The butter chicken and naan or butter chicken and rice is out of this world , again worth the price of the buffet for this alone The vegetarian entrees are spectacular, saag dishes are great , panned dishes are excellent In general sauces are rich and flavorful and mildly spicy Excellent place for a celebration or conversation

Upscale Indian restaurant in Santana Row located near the cinemas. Parking is available at the Santana Row parking garage which is close by. Wait staff was allergy aware and there were several gluten free and peanut free options on the menu and on the buffet. Food was tasty but not very spicy.

Fine dining Indian restaurant with good ambiance. The meats are very juicy and well cooked. Idly munchoorian is a must try. They are rice cakes cut into pieces, fried and tossed in munchoorian sauce. Harabara kabab is another must try. Shrimp Curry has Goan flavors. Kofta source is yummy!
