"The second of three locations of this upscale but welcoming Mexican restaurant is a worthy destination for not just the food and strong drinks, but its watery view. Located at the Boardwalk on Lake Cypress, the restaurant overlooks the sprawling lake and the patio is perched right next to the waterway. The menu features comfort dishes of elote, empanadas, enchiladas, steak and seafood." - Megha McSwain, Minh Truong

Probably my new favorite place near home. Service was Exceptional! Michelle was a great server. The atmosphere was fun and best of all the Mexican street corn, enchiladas, the empanadas, and the margaritas were awesome. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this place tucked away in a strip center.

OMG, this is one of my favorite restaurants! Everyone is so kind and friendly. They’re always busy and on top of their hospitality! And the food is super yummy.

This Mexican restaurant is a gem! The food is incredibly authentic, bursting with bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Every dish tasted homemade and full of tradition. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. From tacos to tamales, everything was perfect. Highly recommend for an authentic Mexican dining experience!

Google
We ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place! The food is sooo delicious. The conchitas and chocolate abuelita are way tastier than the Mexican version. Trust me! And the service is above and beyond. Juan Jose and Augusto are amazing! They were very attentive and cordial.

First time eating at Ambriza and I loved it. Food was really delicious. The waiter gave us excellent service. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back.

Google
Best Mexican food I've ever had. I thought we had good Mexican in California, but man I think this restaurant is even better. The happy hour deals are excellent. The chalupitas were mouthwatering. The margaritas were perfect. The mosole (?) was delicious. The torta was fantastic, I love how soft the bread was. A lot of tortas I've had have dry bread, this one was great though! The street corn was also excellent. My colleague did say the ceviche was just okay, but otherwise we absolutely loved everything. The service was excellent as well. I will come back to this chain everytime I'm in Texas, and I hope they come to California! Especially around San Francisco, I feel like this place would be super popular

First time here with my partner and some friends. . Food was good not as good as Mexico. . Service was fantastic. .Nichole? was super amazing and sweet atmosphere was welcoming restaurant is bigger than it looks due to its lay out and out door seating.

We visited Ambriza to celebrate my mom’s birthday and had such a great experience! The margaritas were delicious and perfectly made and refreshing. The customer service was excellent, everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. It was a wonderful place to celebrate, and we’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
I was in the Houston area for work and a colleague suggested Ambriza for happy hour. They brought out homemade chips and two dipping sauces. To drink, I went with "Talk Whiskey to Me", which is Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Ancho Reyes Chile liqueur, lime juice, pineapple syrup and angostura bitters. I followed up with the cucumber serrano margarita, which is cool and refreshing upfront and follows with a bit of heat. As an entree, I went with the fajita mix which comes with beef, chicken, shrimp and ribs. It was served in a molcajete. The staff were very friendly. They recommended the cucumber serrano margarita. The restaurant is a good size. They have high tops and a bar that are offered happy hour specials. If I'm ever in the Houston area again and in the mood for Mexican, I'd give them another try.

Yelp
amazing Mexican food! The Elote was SO good and the soup was tasty. We got tacos for dinner- It was three tacos with rice and beans per plate. The fish tacos were probably the best I've ever had and the pork lechon was new to me but so soft. Tacos al pastor was fine not bad but not mind blowing, same with the churros they were just fine. Really appreciated the birthday celebration they did, they sang for another table, but gave us the choice to not to sing for us haha and they gave us the free churros after.

Tudon M.

Yelp
First, the food itself was actually pretty good. A little different than traditional Mexican, but overall good. The gorditas and Caldo Azteca were on point. The service however, leaves a lot to be desired. Our server spent quite a bit of time talking to other employees leaving us waiting for about 15-20 mins for her to finish her conversation and then come take our order. This was longer for a party who was there before us who she took their order after ours. Then we weren't offered a refill on our coffee (see photo) for another 20 mins or so. The final straw was when we ordered the Pan Dulce Platter and we were told that they only had muffins left... and then 10 mins later they bring another table different types of pan dulce. Spoke to the manager but she has nothing to offer. So... food was good, just don't expect quality service. The restaurant is decorated nicely. The bar looks good and has a nice setup. My only concern with the ambiance is the music is a bit loud in the restaurant. It would be nicer as background music. Otherwise, the food was good.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Great food as I love the Mexican Street Corn. It's very similar to what I got in Mexico but with a fancy flare to it. The wait time could be a bit on the weekends or when there are events at the boardwalk.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Fantastic Tex-mex place! Creative menu and everything was freshly made and to order! Staff was extremely accommodating and helpful, green salsa was absolutely fantastic and the red salsa was warm! Def worth the stop! Great vibes and great food!

Yelp
Ohhh, Ambriza. I really wanted to like you. I really, really, did. I've been wanting to try this place out since it opened. And I have been invited a few times to go try this place, and was excited to, but always had something going on and was never got to go to it. I especially liked that they had a rack for purses and gift bags to hang onto. It's the little things, you know? And so when I was trying to find a place to take a friend for her birthday lunch, I decided this would be a great place to go to because of it's fun atmosphere and because she is such a big fan of chips and salsa. Little did i know, these things would be it's downfall. I feel like if you are going to be a restaurant like this serving Tex-Mex or Mexican or what have you, you need to have great salsa and great queso. I am not exaggerating when I say that the salsa tastes exactly like tomato sauce that comes in spaghettios. I actually didn't end up tasting the queso. Everyone at the table who did, commented how it had a weird texture and it reminded them of cottage cheese and scrambled eggs. I don't like when people review things that they didn't actually taste, but I think that I can get a pass here because of the texture of it. I had the seafood enchiladas, and it was just fine-- nothing exciting, nothing that I would really want to return back to--especially since we have a few great Tex-Mex places around the area. The green sauce was the same as the one they give with chips and you can't change out sauces or mix and match with the enchiladas, if you like that option. The Mexican rice wasn't all too great, kind of dry, but the beans were actually pretty good. The server was pretty good, and I actually tipped well despite the food, because of the fact that he brought out the picture frame for my friend's birthday and churros with cream and they sang happy birthday to her. I would come here again for the birthday experience but probably not otherwise. It's one of those places you go to only for the experience and not the food.

Yelp
Greeted by a lady who opened the door , dressed up. Ambiance was so cool and food was delicious. I definitely recommend and will be back.

Christina S.

Yelp
The food and service were both incredible!!! Everyone was so kind and very thorough when explaining the menu and restaurant.

Katherine S.

Yelp
Ambriza is one of our favorites. Their food is always delicious. Their brunch menu has a variety of tasty dishes. The ambiance is amazing and the service is always good every time we visit.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The food is all around delicious and of course the service was great too! This location is were my friend lives so we came here to grab a bite and enjoy the vibes. I like eating out and and trying new places so glad we were able to come back here!

Tabitha C.

Yelp
If you have a stomach made of steel and love drinking alcohol, then this place is for you! The drinks are made extremely strong! Happy Hour drinks prices are dynamically priced based on the time of ordering. Customer service - A+ Ambiance A+ Food B+ - all TexMex food tastes the same to me.

Alonso T.

Yelp
Food and drinks are I would recommend the cucumber Serrano margarita which has won best margarita in Houston many years in a row. The pastel azteca is my personal favorite, chicken, poblano - lots of sauce/flavor similar to an enchilada. Ambiance is fun and they always fun Hispanic music and they have a dead of the day theme. Service is 10/10 - always helpful and checking in to see if you are comfortable

Yelp
Holy mole guacamole! What an awesome Mexican restaurant. I absolutely loved that this wasn't your typical tex-mex place and that it leaned more on the authentic Mexican cuisine side. We were super excited to find that first timers receive complimentary corn on the cob. The corn is dressed with mayo, Parmesan and cilantro with a side of tajin. Super tasty, yummy and perfect starter. Additionally, chips and salsa is served so be careful or you'll be really full before your meal arrives. We did share entrees as we were really hungry but wanted to go out to celebrate a graduation. We stopped by Tuesday afternoon and we're seated right away. Portions are generous so bring an appetite. We ordered the fajita meal which came in a large molcajete (mortar) with plenty of grilled veggies and a plate of rice, beans and guacamole. All was really flavorful and fresh. The tortillas were obviously homemade which is rare. I ordered the enfrijoladas and loved them! Beans were really good but the chicken inside was the star. Super flavorful and the chipotle added a perfect touch in spice. I was full but I ate it all! As a graduation appreciation, our server brought out their house 4 leches which was absolutely delicious and I'm still thinking about it. Very moist, not too sweet...just perfection. Make sure you try their desserts even if you don't have room! We had amazing service and they made us feel connected to the Mexican roots they're portraying through their food.I highly recommend Ambriza! There's plenty of parking but can be hard to find when frequenting during busy evening hours so come early and enjoy some margaritas.

Yelp
Ambriza is an excellent choice for upscale Mexican dining in the Vintage neighborhood. It is a large restaurant with lots of seating inside as well as a full bar. There is bright artwork throughout with a real Mexican vibe. The staff is very friendly and attentive. While they don't have a lot of experience with wine, they know their margaritas. The food was excellent. We did not have a bad thing, but the real highlights were the tableside guacamole with authentic preparation and fresh chips, the al pastor tacos with refried black beans and Mexican rice, and the beef barbarcoa flautas. Even when full, I kept taking little nibbles. Impressively, their flautas use light as a feather corn tortillas. The al pastor tacos had handmade corn tortillas. IYKYK that this place hits the highlights for authenticity (except maybe those yucca fries, which are Peruvian). I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. They do it right.

Yelp
Good food, great service, fun ambiance. I came here for the first time with a large group for work. It did take a while to get water, but the service was otherwise quick and personable despite our large party size. I appreciated that the manager checked in on our group multiple times. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that first timers to the restaurant get a free portion of elote (served on the cob), which was fresh and well-seasoned. I'd like to mention that I happened to notice the table of elderly first-time customers next to me received theirs off the cob, served in a cup (esquite-style), which I thought was great attention to detail. Chips and salsa were tasty, but the dips were too cold, which threw me off a little. For my entree I ordered the Fideo Seco, which looks like a seasonal/featured menu item. I enjoyed it but would have liked more veggies to give a fresh crunch and cut through all the richness. I got to try some empanadas and churros off my coworkers, and those were excellent. Love how bright, open, and bustling the interior is. The patio is always really lively every time I pass by, but I'll be avoiding it for now during the humid Houston summer. I appreciate that they're open a little later - up to 10:00pm most nights and 11:00pm on the weekends. Great parking since it's in the Vintage. I'll be back to try some drinks with friends. I'm honestly surprised I haven't eaten here sooner! - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 5/5

Yelp
Went at lunch time and the place was BUZZING. It's a very popular restaurant. I wouldn't go for lunch though, I'd only return for the dessert/breakfast/brunch foods. Their hot chocolate and pastries is divine. GET THAT FOR SURE!! Their serving in the fajita platter was okay but the food was not out of this world delicious. Just sufficient. It's a loud restaurant (acoustics bouncing everywhere). Would be difficult for hard of hearing people. Ladies restroom had 2 stalls. Was clean. Baby changer in larger stall.

Jason Z.

Yelp
Located in the Northwest Champions area. Very new plaza/ shopping center and it's opposite Torchy's with plenty of free parking. Clean and modern interior with plenty of menu items that lean more on the traditional side. Table service was frequent and friendly. We got tostones, chicharron with guac, and yuca fries for the table. All are very tasty honestly. I got the pastor quesadilla as my main and while it was also a solid dish, I enjoyed the apps more. Plenty of stuff on the menu that I haven't tried before but I can see why they're busy. Haven't tried any of their desserts yet but I would expect good things.

Luna Q.

Yelp
Margaritas, street corn, mole enchiladas are my go to every single time I come here. Packed with flavor.

Abby W.

Yelp
Interior Mexican food so don't go if you want chips and queso. DO go if you want a super friendly staff, fresh food and a fun environment. The manager, Justine, came by and brought complimentary street corn and checked on us several times to be sure we were happy, enjoying the food and didn't have any questions. The staff seems to work as a team to get food out, and clear plates. We enjoyed our food and the whole experience. I wish they'd open one in Fort Worth!

Yelp
As a military person, we like to write the bottom-line up-front, or the BLUF. The BLUF on Ambriza is delicious food, vibrant decor, and attentive, fast, and friendly service! Now, for the details. In Houston, we are used to Tex-Mex, and it's a staple food that everyone has a very emotional and deep connection with. What one person may say is the best Mexican food, 10 will pop up and say, "Well, that place is good, but I know this one place..." and the conversation quickly devolves into personal preference. One restaurant that nearly everyone I've talked to about who have also had the pleasure of experiencing agrees on is that Ambriza is special. First of all, it's not traditional Tex-Mex. Heck, it's not even Tex-Mex. They call themselves "Social Mexican Kitchen," and it fits. The food are traditional Mexican foods from all over Mexico, and they are full of flavor, cooked to perfection, with high-quality ingredients all made from scratch right in the kitchen. Yes, that includes the flour and corn tortillas and the chips! The guacamole is probably the best I've had anywhere, ever. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the Pork Belly Chicharron. It's crunchy friend pork belly cut into little cubes and served with some of that incredible guacamole. My favorite lunch or light dinner there is the Conchinita Pibil tacos on corn tortillas. It's pork that's seasoned incredibly well and slow-cooked served on the home-made corn tortillas. Everyone I've recommended these to love them. The decor is fun and lively with sugar skulls and paintings in bright colors all over. The ambiance is lively, and the bar makes delicious drinks that are Mexican takes on some classics. I love the smokey mezcal Old Fashioned! The service is always spot-on. We've never encountered any delays or issues at Ambriza, and their waitstaff are among the best we've experienced anywhere. Call ahead for a reservation on weekends and holidays. The word is out on Ambriza, and they're almost always full.

Maddie F.

Yelp
Came for their happy hour and Monday is happy hour all day long! Their margarita prices go up with whatever time of day it is. We ordered a few appetizers off of the happy hour menu and they did not disappoint, great flavor and portion sizes. Cute casual restaurant with a patio, bar and great service. They have a few locations, overall good place for a good happy hour.

Steve K.

Yelp
Cochinita Pibil open Tamal was absolutely phenomenal! One of the best pork dishes I've ever had. I've had Cochinita Pibil elsewhere but it was dry. This was juicy and flavorful. Extra points for hooking my friend up with something off the lunch menu! Cocktails are always on point here. Will be back soon.

John S.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience here, special thanks to the manager Nicole. Had the street corn, like no other, the special dish that was some sort of noodle that blew my mind, and the top shelf margaritas. Comfortable environment where you can relax and enjoy the drinks and food.

Bryan D.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for lunch and we sat outside. The weather was really nice. The service was amazing. We were even offered complimentary hot chocolate and freshly baked bread. The food presentation was lovely and flavor was there. I will definitely be coming back with family and friends.

Joseph Z.

Yelp
Last night we went to Ambriza for the first time. Upon first entering you are greeted and given options on seatings. We went during happy hour so the bar was pretty packed but we were able to a find a seat pretty quickly. We had such a great experience, the staff was so kind and helpful. Jesus gave us some great recommendations on drinks and food. The happy hour menu was great, having many different food options and honestly very filling. The margaritas were great and they offered so many flavor options! I would definitely recommend trying it out.

Gabby ..

Yelp
Everytime I come to ambriza I always leave happy & fulfilled. They have great service. They are very helpful with their menu if you have any questions. My FAVORITE are their tostones, my go to!! We were also offered free complimentary elote since it was our first time. 1000/10 experience!!

Eugene T.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food (as far as my non-Mexican self knows lol) that's matched with great decor and amazing service. I don't think I've ever come here and not enjoyed myself. I know this is a food review but let me hit on the environment first. From the moment you walk up to the doors you'll see great design. The inside of covered with beautiful artwork that pops with such vibrant colors. They have paintings, figures, and design pieces that all bring life to the restaurant. The staff has always been nice and informative on any items they offer. Though Tex-Mex is a favorite of many, and oftentimes what some people think of when they think of Mexican, they politely inform you that they are an authentic Mexican restaurant and only serve authentic Mexican dishes. This means that items such as my all-time favorite dish, chimichanga, aren't on the menu. I'm not sure if they still offer it but I know they previously offered an entree that featured beef tongue, which someone I went with enjoyed. That's not a protein I'm willing to try but does speak to their offering. Their appetizers are really good. The street corn is one of their signature items and when you taste it you'll easily see why. I also really enjoy their chicken and beef empanadas. The table chips and salsa are thankfully good and both the red and green sauces are a toss up on which is better but both are wins. The Duck Confit I had the first time I went here was really good, which is saying something because duck is an item that is often not done well in my opinion. Since then I've had the Verdes Enchiladas, Seafood Enchiladas, Fish Tacos (I think...don't quote me on that one lol), and Mixed Fajitas. All of them were delicious and I think I'll say the Seafood Enchiladas and Mixed Fajitas were my favorites. The Fajitas came with like shrimp, beef and chicken and it was also my first time have cactus and I was a fan. When it comes to drinks they have a nice bit of options that includes a margarita that they say is award winning. I usually don't prefer alcohol with my food but my most recent visit they gave a shot of the margarita as a sample. It was really good I must admit. They also gave the street corn as a complimentary item on that visit, which was really nice. The other margaritas and lemonades I've had there were all good. One of the nicest things about dining here is that so many items are made in restaurant from the food to the drinks. You can taste that they aren't premade and that really adds a layer of joy to the taste. The fact they've branched out to more locations speaks to the quality of the food and experience that you get here.

Yelp
Amazing food, great service & the small touches such as a personal rack to hang a coat or purse.

Sheila R.

Yelp
When we got to Ambriza we were seated immediately. Our service was great. Our server, Josue, was excited that my friend had never been here and brought her a sample of the Elote! Delicious. We really liked the food. The chips and salsa are great and the soup my friend ordered was also delicious. My ceviche tostada was excellent! The fish tasted very fresh, the avocado and lime was a great flavor pop for the dish.

David G.

Yelp
Alright after attending this place last week from Yelps Elite invite, I had made the decision to bring my mother here to celebrate her birthday dinner last night and was excited! Well here's my honest opinion..... I made reservations the day of for a group of 6 and was excited to see they were able to seat us right away at 6 when there was people waiting outside which is great! Second, our waitress who I understand has a lot of work to do but was not impressed with the service she provided. We ordered our drinks to include alcohol and beverages which we got, but 10 mins go by without her even coming back to take our appetizer orders nor refill our drinks.... About 15 mins go by and I politely asked the server next to us if he could assist us by locating our sever. Eventually our original server makes her way out of the back and at this point we're ready to order. We order two order of the parrillada fajitas $65 each and another round of drinks and finally were able to order our guacamole appetizer table side we've been trying to get from the beginning before she disappeared. Long story short we ordered everything when she finally came back. The table guacamole comes and is made table side which was great! As for the mixed parrillada fajitas I was disappointed to be honest. The fajita slices were tender and great but that's about it. Keep in mind this grilled fajitas come with the following as well. The grilled chicken was over cooked and extremely dry crispy :/ . The pork ribs as well were extremely dry and was very disappointed since I was expected to be tender at least. The grilled shrimp was over cooked and had rubbery texture. :( We didn't make a deal about the quality of food because by this point it's my mothers birthday celebration but we were upset. The tortillas were great since both flour and corn are made in house but yea.... Well overall we brought a cake to celebrate my moms birthday but we weren't acknowledged or asked to sing happy birthday as traditional restaurants do which was upsetting. I mean we had flowers and a ballon that we brought staying happy birthday mom. I'm not sure about y'all but I'm sure the majority of people try to make their mothers birthday special. By this time I order a bottled beer and the waitress brung out a luke warm bottle not even cold to the touch. I unfortunately sent the beer bottle back after the first sip and the waitress did apologize and brought back an actual cold bottle. I don't know but after going to this place the first time I was impressed and to experience the following as noted, it's very very very hard for me to recommend this place or return back. I would have expected so much from this place and the ambiance is amazing which my mom loved but the service, food, and experience for a group of 6 was under average and upsetting. In honest review and respectfully, David G

Lacey P.

Yelp
Overall, this place is great! We arrived around 7pm on a Friday, and the waitress said she would seat us right away. She ended up seating several people that came in after us, before us, which was a little frustrating. If there's going to be a wait, just tell us that. After being seated, though, everything was great. The drinks are strong, and the food is fresh and delightful. I don't know if it's truly "authentic" like they say, but honestly I don't care, it's delicious! The inside is very cute too, good for any occasion.

Krystal C.

Yelp
Service was AMAZING. Food is AMAZING. Everyone was so nice, the vibes are great. Love how its authentic mexican food and not tex mex. Definitely recommend

Nelson C.

Yelp
I usually never post immediately after eating some where but Ambriza deserves an exception! The awesome mood presented as you walk in carries through out whole experience .. the food and drinks are at an outstanding grade ! And our server deserved 5 stars All on his own , and the rest of staff followed along seamlessly with great enthusiasm and service ! The word should be out on Ambriza, a great Mexican Authentic Eatery!

Melissa B.

Yelp
We dined Sunday January 19th at the Cypress location after a very exhausting weekend of travel volleyball. It was our first time to eat at this restaurant. The food was amazing. Our waiter was so polite as well as the manager. I can't remember our waiters name but I believe he was a waitstaff trainer. Everyone who we encountered was extremely professional and kind! The restaurant was beyond clean and trendy! The food was AMAZING! - Bartlett family

Beatriz ..

Yelp
This place as soon as you come in the ambiance the greet the staff the friendly is happy place! The drinks are great cucumber Margarita, I tried the empanadas tings and moletes de plata I soooo good

Brett N.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this is not your standard Texas Mexican restaurant. --- --- --- I have had Ambriza booked for a long time, but we finally made the time to drive about 45 minutes to Louetta to check it out. When we visit the standard Tex-Mex spots, we always order queso and fajitas. And while i was tempted to order fajitas here, I asked our server if they really just had fajitas on the menu to appease people who expect them at Mexican restaurants. He indirectly said yes by saying that they are good, but there are definitely other things that he would recommend on the menu over them. So we ended up going with the following: Street Corn: 5-stars. We were going to order this anyway, but it actually comes out for free when it's your first time visiting. It was amazing and I would happily order this every time in the future. Queso: 5-stars. This is a much thicker queso than you'll find at the usual Tex-Mex spots. It comes with tortillas, but we also mixed in dipping our chips because it wasn't *too* thick to break them. Whoever invented melted cheese hundreds of years ago deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. Pork Belly: 3-stars. This was really the only miss of the meal, imo. When it came out, my wife and I simultaneously said to each other: "it looks really dry." And it tasted exactly how it looked. This was the #1 highlight on Yelp, but we definitely wish we would have tried something else . Mexican Risotto: 5-stars. Rich and full of flavor, but not so much that it seemed overwhelming. I loved every bite of this dish. The worst part was when it was over. The vibe in here was lively and the trendy. There were a lot of people really dressed up like it was their first stop en route to a long night of fun. We were schlepping in stuff wear around the house, so we were probably literally invisible to other patrons, but our server did not treat us like the trolls we appeared to be. I considered ordering a margarita like virtually everyone else here did, but we will have to save that for next time.

Katie H.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area! The service is fantastic. Every thing I've ever eaten here is delicious. They have THE BEST pan dulce I've ever had. It's only served on Saturdays and Sundays during brunch. It's warm and fresh from the oven and served with Mexican hot choloate. You can't go wrong with this place! (And their margaritas are amazing).

William

Yelp
I think it was a nice place with a nice environment. I just didn't think the food was great because it was just a bit too chewy. The waiters though, the were horrible people.

Laura H.

Yelp
Everything about this place was phenomenal! From the parking to the hostess greeting us at the door with a big welcoming smile and the ambiance as soon as you walk thru the door. The music is upbeat and lively making it a fun atmosphere. We chose to sit at the bar, which proved to be a great choice! Our bartender Brandon was awesome! He asked us if it was our first time there and was very patient in explaining the drink and food menus. The drinks are amazing! He made us some sample shots of their house cocktail and that was all we needed to help us decide that that was the drink for us! We then ordered their ceviche with plantain chips as an appetizer, it was so fresh and delicious. We then ordered the Lechon tacos and my husband had the carne asada tacos, both dishes were so delicious! We can't wait to go and visit again.

Catherine S.

Yelp
First off, the restaurant is very nice, modern, and clean. We went for a late lunch so it wasn't as busy. The food is pretty good, different than traditional mexican food. It felt lighter - in a good way. But by far the best thing here was the service. They opened the doors for us upon entering and exiting. They offer purse hooks. It was our first time being here so they walked us through the menu. They also offered us free elote, which was definitely different than traditional elote. It was more lime forward and less mayo. To end the meal, they also offered us free wellness shots. The service was great here and definitely perfect to keep customers coming.

I would love to write a glowing review about the food because I've heard it was good. My friends and I arrived for a late lunch. We were given a dinner menu. When we asked if there was a lunch menu, we were told that there was, however the lunch ended at 3pm and as it was 1:59pm she could not give us the lunch menu. We decided that if this was indicative of the rest of the service we were leaving, which we did.

Yelp
Food was very good, lots of flavor, the rice and beans were both delicious as well as the meat. No complaints on the flavor. Decent value for what you get. We had excellent service. My only complaint is there's a non-- cash adjustment charge on your bill if you use your credit card. Supposedly to help keep their cost down on food. But 2 people at our table paid cash and they were also charged. It isn't much, but the fact of the matter is, they shouldn't be charged. I've never seen this before.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place and its ambiance and loved the food I got. Service was great and the place is decorated beautifully inside and out. Unfortunately there aren't too many vegetarian options.

Yelp
This place was amazing. The service was over the top good. We had a large table for a work dinner and our server was on top of it and we never waited for anything. The food was so delicious! If I lived in Houston this would be my go to place! Great happy hour prices too!

Yelp
Came here for the first time for their all day happy hour on Mondays and they did not disappoint. They gave me a complimentary elote since it was my first time which was so good that we ended up getting 2 more orders. I also got the chicken quesadilla, which was so flavorful and filling. The drinks were just right and super cheap thanks to their happy hour. I've recommended Ambriza to a few friends and they've loved it as well. I've made it one of my go to spots for happy hour now. Their brunch was really good too. The restaurant is very pretty and has a nice authentic Mexican ambiance to it.

Yelp
Oh wow, y'all they really really put thought into their ambiance. We celebrated my daughter's birthday at the Towne Lake Boardwalk location and it's literally fantastic. The view is the water and the green space where on weekends there's either live music or a farmer's market. Now on the inside it gives me total Mexi/Cali vibes. So you walk in and it's totally open concept but really inviting. I'm going to make a heart felt suggestion to all the people dating, take your date here. The ambiance and their drinks will definitely make an impression. I will be honest I didn't adore their meal. In my honest opinion it lacked taste, not zest, taste. Almost too healthy kind of taste if you will. But the ambiance and drinks and appetizers are rocking the casbah. Enjoy a good date now on The Towne Lake Boardwalk and leave holding hands leaning into one another.

Yelp
Great food and service! We had come before for dinner and the enchiladas were amazing! So, we came for brunch at 10:30 on a Sunday and there was no wait! We got the chilaquiles, one with poblanos and the other with chicken tinga. Extremely delicious! My husband got their cafe de olla, Mexican style coffee, and loved it!

Yelp
I was in town for work and had to get tacos since I was in Texas. I started with a yummy spicy pineapple marg and it was so well balanced (sweet/spicy) I would definitely recommend. Their salsa is served warm and had fantastic flavor to balance their perfect tortilla chips, then my entree, fish tacos was so good, the fish was perfectly grilled and flaky. The restaurant was clean/well maintained and had a beautiful outdoor seating area. I just sat at the bar since it was so warm and the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Try this place for Tex Mex you will not be disappointed.
