We had an amazing wine dinner here! The wines were perfectly paired with each wonderfully constructed dishes. Everything was excellent and I highly recommend the wine dinners, but also for any night of the week to enjoy an intimate fine dining experience. The wine list is spectacular and the servers are top notch. Enjoy!

Google
Attended the Sicilian Wine maker dinner last month and I must say.. add this to your list of fine dining experiences . The service was amazing, we left well educated on Italian wines and the food for this event was beyond expectations! Highly highly recommended!

Google
Friendly service, the lovely owner was making rounds and checking in at tables. He even brought us prosecco! Our server was sweet. The lasagna and papparadelle are their homemade pastas. I had the beef stroganoff, and it was pretty good. The texture of the sauce was smooth, and the teres major was tender and an excellent cut for the dish. The pasta noodles were dissapointingly too thick, and the sauce was a touch over salted. These could be easily adjusted and fixed, and it is possible that this is not the norm for how they prepare their handmade pastas. The chocolate mousse was stunning. It was light, rich, silky, and exceptionally executed. The parking lot adjacent to the restaurant is paid parking, and street parking is free after 6 pm.

Google
The food was good, nothing very special about it. Was expecting more for their cocktails after looking at the bar set up. I ordered a amaretto sour and was expecting it to be fancier for an Italian restaurant. The creme brulee dessert was the highlight of the visit.

Google
Great place to impress a date. Romantic lighting, intimate seating. We enjoyed seafood pasta special with fab sauce, a thick halibut portion & amazing lamb chops--so tender! The lobster/crab cakes were divine. Enjoyed a hibiscus infused gin cocktail with dinner. No room for dessert.

Google
Great little spot to eat. I love Italian food but do not go out to eat it very often. This was a great experience. It was a Sunday evening, and I had a reservation, so I was seated right away. Fantastic service, beautiful atmosphere, lots of fun things to look at, I like the stained glass windows, the mirrors, and the paintings. I got the lasagna, and my partner got the scallops. Both were fantastic. This was my first time here, but I will definitely be back.

My friend loves this place, so we go every year for his birthday. To be fair, the drinks are good and they have great service. However every single year we come, we all end up hating our meals. Not to mention even though it’s his birthday, they didn't bring him dessert. This extremely tiny piece of fish I ordered was $50!!!! Even the presentation was bad. To top it off, it tasted undercooked and fishy, and I later suffered from food poisoning. We ordered bread for the table ($4) and it’s a few pieces of a thinly sliced baguette. The portions here are insanely disappointing for the price, and for a $50 piece of fish, bread should be included. Do yourself a favor and go to Placedos instead.

Google
Amazing! Wonderful food and service. Ambrosia has an excellent wine selection. The atmosphere is very nice. We came for dinner to treat ourselves before a show and we're not disappointed!

Yelp
Armen you and your team continue to serve a consistent sit down Italian dining experience in downtown Eugene for longer than we want to mention. Thanks for supporting The Shedd and commitment to Down Town Eugene. A solid core menu with unique specials. Bar and wine list will satisfy all libation preferences.

Yelp
Excellent service. Pasta was bland and mushy, though our salads were delicious. My friend's pizza was also bland, with just a few pieces of topping.we used to come here regularly 15 years ago but the food has changed, prices have gone up and it is not a place we would return to in the future.

Yelp
I've been going to Ambrosia for decades. I love the food (and the care they take around my allergies), the service, the ambiance and the wine list. The owner is a sommelier and their wines reflect his excellent taste. We go there for meetings and celebrations. It's one of Eugene's best.

Yelp
Horrible pizza. Our favorite pizza place R Pizza in Springfield is closed so we ordered pizza to go from Ambrosia an Italian restaurant. We ordered a large we got 3 small slices each for two of us. The crust was bland & flat no brown puffs created while cooking in their special brick oven. If there was only one size the guy that took the order should have said so! We've had dinner in this beautiful old unique brick building. The ambiance is wonderful for Eugene but the food leaves a lot to be desired and it's expensive. Too bad. Eugene is lacking in good restaurants. We'll keep searching.

Yelp
This restaurant is beautiful inside, and the food is great, but really the highlight is the wonderful servers! The servers remember me when I come in, although I have only been a few times, and are just amazing people. I cannot recommend enough.

Amber A.

Yelp
Great food great service we sat outside because we had our dog with us. The waiter brought cold water for the dog which was nice. The setting was beautiful except the questionable people walking around!

Yelp
We arrived and were seated promptly, our server was over pretty quickly. We received free bread, cold butter, and oil and vinegar. The butter was hard to spread as it was fresh from a fridge in little wrapped pieces. We ordered a charcuterie which was very good, we loved the selection and the amount for the price. The food was pretty good except my husband asked for his lamb a bit more rare and it was not rare whatsoever, the risotto that it came with was very good. I ordered the goat cheese ravioli and it was perfect! We were seated in a cute, cozy, intimate feeling area. All around the service and food were very good. The only complaint is the overcooked lamb, but that could have easily been a one time mistake. We will definitely be back.

Janell W.

Yelp
The goat cheese ravioli was below subpar if that's possible. Topping that off, our server didn't offer bread or oo/balsamic dipping bowl when they finally did respond to the request for it, no butter though. Asked for that again. They forgot the sugar for the tea. It appears that Armen, the owner, has made some changes to the quality of the servers, the service, and the food. My friend has the Steak Gorgonzola, and noted the steak was tough. Overall, major disappointment when the server didn't ask if anything was wrong with my meal. I have been going to Ambrosia for 26 years, but the changes made to the quality, it is my last visit. Sad.

Yelp
Beautiful ambience. I love the bar here.. the pizza used to be good many years ago, but now it is woefully awful. They should just take it off their menu.. it does not reflect the history of this establishment's pizza. Quite a good Caesar salad. The specials are definitely the way to go as we did have some really good food served to us. Food prices have risen and it is expensive here. Definitely better options in Eugene, but this place is an establishment that offers up a little more than the average restaurant in terms of charm.

Kourtni W.

Yelp
Cute place, great service (David?), tasty food and drinks.. we will definitely go back.

Yelp
Nice family/group dining spot located in a restored older building with lots of character. Two stories, with upper and lower dining room. Cozy atmosphere, good service and good food. The only downside was that my sister-in-law's food was mistimed and came out as the rest of us were already finishing our food. She ordered the cannelloni, for reference. If you're in a hurry, maybe it's best to order a different dish!
google avatar

Winter B.

Yelp
The inside of this restaurant is huge. Bar area is really cute. Our server was very friendly. The menu has a great variety of pizza, pasta, appetizers, calzones, and more. Food does take a minute to come so maybe get some appetizers! The meal was filling but not the best Italian I have tried.

Yelp
Went with a group of more than twenty. We had reservations for weeks but when we got there, the room wasn't ready and they only had one server assigned to us. We arrived about 6:45 for a 7:00 pm reservation. It was 8:30 before anyone got food. I have celiac and asked what would be safe. I was told the special would be, it was filet mignon. I ordered that blue. It came out medium and with brown gravy. I asked if the gravy was gluten free and was told it was. I went ahead and ate it and was up horribly sick the entire night. This was more than cross-contamination. My guess is they either do not understand what gluten is or simply don't care.

Yelp
Second time in one month. Make sure Bret is you table server! Excellent food and service!

Yelp
Y second time here ! The steak is very delicious and soft the carrots and broccoli very well seasoned. My favorite the Asian pear drink is the best , the pasta is ok no my favorite I would not order this dish again I am not a fan of so much onions on a plate specially pasta . The ambiance is very nice and chill the bartender he is excellent I really enjoy my time here talking to him and the owner of the place . Honestly I will recommend this place .

Donald W.

Yelp
Had an amazing Birthday and early Christmas Eve dinner. Service, food and atmosphere first class.

Denise E.

Yelp
best food service and it is amazing our server David is spot on and the owner arman is attentive to detail.

Julie H.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. It was our first time there and not sure what to expect. They even had tasteful, live music. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ambrosia has been one of our favorite restaurants in Eugene. They were closed for awhile and I'm not sure if they changed ownership during the transition, but we celebrated Mother's Day here tonight after 2-3 years of not having been there. It did NOT disappoint and was as good as we remembered: Al dente pasta, delicious lasagna, and a tasty Caesar salad. Our waitress was sweet and attentive, the portions were generous, and our daughter loved her spaghetti from the kids menu. The ambiance and decor make you feel like you are in the 1920's with stained glass windows, Victorian wood carved benches, art deco Obelisk paintings, Tiffany lamps... There are also several lofts and living room dining areas that allow for a personalized and private seating experience. The bar is classy and its elegance adds to the overall entrance as you walk in. Love this place and so glad they've reopened.

Yelp
Great menu and specials and always amazing service! We love the atmosphere and music.

Yelp
Still one of my top restaurants in Eugene/Springfield. Food is very good though not especially off the charts creatvely but what they do they do well. Great ambiance and fair pricing My partner and I hit Ambrosia at leat 4 times a year.

Kendra Y.

Yelp
Wonderful!!!! Excellent service great staff and most importantly, the food is top notch!!!
google avatar

Yelp
A special part of Eugene, the vibes, dinner, drinks and dessert are my favorite in town.

Aden L.

Yelp
Ambrosia serves decent Italian food in the heart of Eugene's downtown. I find the prices to not match the quality that is provided and the service has been some of the slowest service I've had since the pandemic restrictions lifted.

James J.

Yelp
Great food cooked perfection served on time. Everything was well loved it. I would recommend it to anybody. The halibut was awesome. The lobster crab cakes were perfect. Everything was done excellently.

A C.

Yelp
The food was expensive and mediocre with small portions. The service was rushed and unfriendly. The ambiance was half decent but cannot make up for the poor food quality and poor service.
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Nice restaurant, decor, music and good service! We ordered the Fettuccine Davide, Antipasti Plate, Lobster Cakes, Focaccia and Classic Italian Tiramisu, They have delicious wines and an Asian Pear drink that is to die for!
google avatar

Parker B.

Yelp
such a cute place! bar area is adorable and the staff was so friendly and fun. food was so good! they bring complementary bread and we also got the stuffed mushrooms (not pictured). the chicken marsala was so good, noodles were kinda garlicky but they probably just don't like vampires. would go back for sure!

Ryan H.

Yelp
Tried for the first time and was blown away. Best filet I have ever had. Armond (sp?), the owner, was very courteous. David, our server, was also a pleasure. Atmosphere was very relaxing. We have found our new place to show friends and family when they come to visit. Thanks!

Kris N.

Yelp
It had been years since I'd been here. Now I remember why. Expensive, mediocre food, ambivalent service. If I'm going to spend $20+ on an entree, I really want great food and attentive service.

Yelp
Came for a visit to Eugene and walked over to this little gem. The restaurant is cute with a clean and elegant interior. They allowed us to sit outside because we had our dog with us. The food came out hot and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked. My mom had the seafood cannelloni YUMMY!!! it was perfectly cooked and I could have drank the sauce. The food was even delicious the next day when I warmed up the leftovers.

Laurie S.

Yelp
Our server was great and the food was good but not great, for the price. I've never been to an Italian restaurant where we've had to pay for bread-ridiculous! The calzone I got came out with a large burnt bubble on top. Besides that it was tasty. My husband got the seafood ravioli and it was just ok. Another issue is the parking. If you go after 6:00, you might find one of the 6-8 free parking spots. Otherwise you have to pay $5.00 at the lot or walk, possibly in the rain. For the price of the food then having to pay extra for parking, bread and salad, we'll be going to one of the other nice Italian restaurants in town from now on.
google avatar

Connor E.

Yelp
Not good at all. I went here for a date we had reservations for 6:00pm. When we got our order taken, they brought us soup and bread. The soup tasted great and the bread tasted freshly baked. It's now been an hour now and still no entrées. With two loaf of bread and soup my date and I were pretty full. I was embarrassed especially how fancy the restaurant is and how much the name has spread over town. We got our food to go and when we borough it back home the food looked terrible there was very little vegetables and there was a small amount of sauce.

Ashley M.

Yelp
The service was horrible, we had a 630 reservation but still had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated. we then waited well over an hour for food when the restaurant just wasn't busy enough to be waiting this long. If in Eugene skip this place.
google avatar

TC W.

Yelp
Food was good, service was great and the ambience was nice too. My only complaint was, what they called a beet salad, had at most a half a small beet and was mostly spinach. It would be better to call it a spinach salad with beets. It tasted good but a beet salad for $16 should have more beets. I would definitely eat there again.

Marcus Grey R.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service exquisite and the ambiance is luxurious and comfortable. This restaurant will become a staple in my family for generations.

Yelp
Two stars for being seated promptly at a wonderful table , fabulous wine list and for our server who was hustling. We travel to Eugene a lot and were excited to try Ambrosia as friends had suggested it. We started with drinks and ordered 4 apps to table. 2 came out promptly. Our server warned us the restaurant was crowded with a party of 40 downstairs so we should place our dinner orders soon. When our other 2 appetizers arrived about 15 mins later we ordered our mains. 60 minutes later - no main courses. We were having fun and enjoying drinks but seemed a little off. 15 mins later we asked about status of our dinner. We were told it would be "at least another 30 minutes". The waiter offered to bring us salads or soups on the house so we got a salad and soup for the table. 45 mins later - our main course arrives. We ordered main course at 7:30pm and got the food at 9:30pm. What's worse? You would presume all dishes would be pipping hot. The calzone - the cheese /insides were cold crust, mildly warm and the scallop plate was luke warm at best. We didn't send anything back because we were afraid we would wait an incredibly long time for it to heat up. 3 of our guests shoveled in some food and boxed some to go and departed as they had to relieve sitters. Before we paid we spoke to the manager - she apologized and blamed the 40 person party who showed up late with more than 40 people. And offered us a free dessert. We don't eat sugar so we declined. However, were somewhat horrified they didn't bother to take at least one dish off the bill. Had they at least made some attempt, I never would have written this review. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Yelp
They close at 9pm but won't seat me at 8:20pm. I called and confirmed but still... this is the second time this happens. Not happy about it.

Charlie L.

Yelp
Great food, service, and ambience. My daughter, girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience.

Bob R.

Yelp
The service was great, appetizers and dinner were delicious! The ambiance was perfect for our special occasion.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere here, the low light, music, decor, just a beautiful restaurant! We went for my birthday and heads up if you have a big party they won't split check which I found to be a little crazy. My lasagna was very good just cooked a bit too long on the top to where it was a bit burnt and tough. The owner was there and was so kind and gave me a drink and wished me a happy birthday which was very kind!! That right there will make me return. Our waiter wasn't the best, as soon as you would finish asking for something he would walk off and not ask anyone else if they needed anything, with a big party everyone needed something. We were always out of drinks, he just wasn't very attentive. Like I said great food and atmosphere, waiters make or break a good time. Would try again, not with a big party though.

Yelp
The ambience is great and the food is good, not amazing but entirely passable. The service is also good.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
I made a reservation here for my family, visiting from out of town. We planned on going to the Shedd afterwards so timing was important. When we arrived, there was a large crowd of about 20 people milling in the foyer and no receptionist in sight. Approximately 10 minutes later , a receptionist arrived. She told the party in front of me, who believed they had reservations, that their name was not on the list and they could sit at the bar, which they did. When I stepped up, she could not find my name either and began to grill me if I had received a confirmation. by text or e-mail. She was quite rude and treated me as if I was fabricating the reservation., trying to pass off their screw-up. A man appeared by her side and he was equally rude to my husband, yelling at him to get out of his restaurant as we were walking away. We will NEVER RETURN!! We subsequently had a lovely meal at The Davis restaurant down the street .

MarkL L.

Yelp
We've been coming back for decades because of their consistent food and wine quality. Great service and a cool old building. Try the winemaker dinners, yee-hah!
google avatar

Jenna P.

Yelp
The steamer clam sauce was a lot on the spicy side...need improvement on servers... food was good but the service could use some improvement

Sheri B.

Yelp
Made a trip to Eugene to visit my college-age daughter, and wanted to take her out to a special dinner. Unfortunately, our waiter ruined what was supposed to be a nice experience. My daughter asked a simple question about a particular dish. The sarcasm and flippant tone of this waiters response was so upsetting and embarrassing to her that she discreetly excused herself from the table in tears. He continued to be brusque, almost condescending, throughout the meal with other comments that simply were not necessary. Later, we overheard him making a similarly inappropriate comment to a guest at another table. The food itself was ok, and probably would have been adequate for a repeat visit in the future if the service had not been so poor. Unfortunately, the service experience at Ambrosia spoiled what was meant to be a special family visit, which was truly a shame.

Erin T.

Yelp
Great family dinner! Fun place and amazing food. The beef stroganoff was amazing and our waitress from NC who recently moved to Eugene was top notch.

Matthews C.

Yelp
There is definitely better Italian in Eugene. Attention to customer service could also be improved.
