"I noted that neighbors and locals are rallying around Ambrosia Bakery owner Keith Troung after the city fined him $4,460 for hiring someone to cut back a tree that he and other business owners said was dangerously blocking a stop sign. Businesses had previously asked the city to trim the tree, but a city inspector judged it was not urgent and “wasn’t completely covered,” Department of Public Works spokesperson Rachel Gordon said; the city also found the trees weren’t pruned correctly by the trimmer. A petition with 1,500 signatures is asking the city to overturn the fine." - Dianne de Guzman
