I’ve passed by this place multiple times and finally, after a year, stopped by to try it. The gentleman at the window was nice enough to explain some menus items and make a couple recommendations to me. Portions, the burger you get is honestly on par with or bigger than a double whopper from Burger King. Yes, the quality is better than BK but something about the sogginess of it threw me off. The flavor was pretty good, they are seasoning the meat very well and like what they are doing with it. I did eat ” mostly” everything I ordered ( double smash burger with onion rings ) which is why I‘m leaving 3 stars and let me explain. The Onion rings will remind you of those from a state fair in terms of flavor and I can almost guarantee they are chopping up an onion and dipping it in their own batter. I do not believe they are of the frozen bag kind. Here’s the issue: the batter of the rings was not cooked enough. After bitting in I reached raw uncooked dough, slimy, and just was an overall turn off for me. Will I be back? Maybe, since it’s not far from me. To the owner: please be sure to cook those onion rings well. I’m sure they are absolutely banging if cooked properly. I could be a total jerk and toss a 1 start but that’s not me as I truly do support small business as I’ve been an owner myself. Follow me for honest unpaid reviews in Texas, the United States, and across the pond.

Google
here's what you need to know before coming to this location The Amber fire Burger which this location is named after absolutely lives up to its name and is easily one of the best darn burgers I've had in a very long time so the trick here is it's just past the Kalahari resort Dell diamond and the Walmart heading east towards Hutto but on the westbound lane you'll want to turn in and it's a set of food trailers here and it's the one to the back with the covered canopy with plenty of shared parking to be found family owned and operated cannot say enough good things about the love that goes into each meal as they served their signature chicken wings and they have five different flavors to me and my friends they're also competing in the Austin chicken wing festival this year for best wing in Texas in November on the 8th plenty of inside areas sit at Adventist TV streaming online content and lots of Jenga and all games for the kids that being said definitely cannot say enough good things about these folk Customer service was superb and attention to detail help with phenomenal on a Friday evening so they have five different chicken wing flavors all of which had their own pros and cons they've got a buffalo and then they have a lemon jerk they've got a barbecue teriyaki and a driver branch and they have a pretty decent ranch sauce to go with the wings as an option back to the Amber fire Burger though with fries and their fries are phenomenal fresh cut not too greasy not too dry just right Hardy portions with all meals that affordable grape prices Amber Burger with their special fried breaded halitos and their special jalapeno sauce was definitely a highlight for me though that burger was off the charts good and definitely worth coming back to as for restrooms they don't necessarily have a restroom but they have is shared in the back little outhouse to the far corner they had a set of six little out houses behind a water cooler

Google
The food is amazing!! My husband and I shared mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, Cajun fries and a cheeseburger. We wanted to try a little bit of everything. Our fav was the fried pickles with blackened ranch. We will for sure order from here vs nearby fast food chains in the future when we’re craving American food. Also, the staff is welcoming and friendly. They went above and beyond with their service. The experience here is next level. You have to stop by to try!

Google
Really great burgers!!!! There was also a nice outdoor sitting area with games like connect four -- will be a great place to hang out once it isn't the middle of summer lol

Google
Stopped by this place less than 10 minutes before 8 pm. The man working was extremely polite and kind. The burger was absolutely amazing, the grilled cheese was just right, & the fries are out of this world. We will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place.

Google
The customer service and food is AMAZING. I ordered the wings and fries. They were made fresh and seasoned great. We live about 15-20 mins away and the food was still smoking hot when we got home. I definitely recommend here.

Google
Came in around closing time looking to try one of the other food trucks. They said they had already cleaned the grill and that I could only order what they had ready made. I went next door to Ambur Fire and they stated they were also cleaning up for the day, but would make what I wanted. Not only was the customer service unmatched, the burgers were out of this world. Definitely, one of the best burgers I’ve had! I will definitely be back.

Google
Okay let me just say spent almost talking to the owner and that made the experience top-notch. I love the fire this Austin native has for food and quality of product coming out the truck. I knocked them down a bit because I anticipated the smash bigger having a thinner patty so went with a double and that baby was thick which is not bad from a value perspective. Hand-battered onion rings taste like funnel cakes so that is an experience 😮. Will be back to try the BBQ on the weekend. They are serving up brisket! PS Get the banana pudding.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING and the burgers were HUGE. I've stopped by twice to pick up to-go orders and let me say that I've yet to be disappointed. The burgers were flavorful and filling. The wings were also flavorful and crispy.

Yelp
It was one of the better burger stands I have been to. This place has some delicious double burgers. We also had some Buffalo fries... now those were amazing. They have a small little canopy with a fun basketball game and a small arcade with old school games. It was so much fun. They also had some pay per view ucf fights on their TV. They bring your food straight to your table outside that you are sitting on. Great service. Guys have a great attitude, and this place is so much fun. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

Yelp
Either my tastes have changed or things have changed at Ambur Fire. The Hawaiian burger had a lot of onions, the lettuce was barely there and wilted, the burger was supposed to be smashed but seemed to be heavy on the pepper and way more done than I prefer. The onion rings gave me bad indigestion for the rest of the night. On the flip side, my husband enjoyed his burger and the Cajun crinkle fries.

Yelp
I had heard really good things but I was a bit underwhelmed. I had the jalapeño burger and the patty was extremely well down and tough. It looked like a square piece of deli cheese topped with 5 pickled jalapeño. The fries seemed like the same quality of fries that would come from a store bought frozen bag. Maybe their main smash burger is tastier so I'd recommend give that a shot first.

Yelp
Great burgers & fries! Rich got the Cajun seasoned fries and I got regular. Both were good. But the burgers are what steals the show. The meat was thick n juicy! Just like I used to make back at the grill. The first bite let me know immediately it was the best I've had in a long while.

Yelp
Got some sesame seed bun when advertised brioche. Fries were good...................................................

Yelp
Delicious burgers and fries! Love their kickin Jalapeño dip. This food truck is located near the Walmart in Round Rock off Palm Valley. You can conveniently order for pick up on their website and they have a delivery option via DoorDash. I have had the smash burger and loved it so today I ordered the Blazing Jalapeño Jack burger. Delicious! Love that they were not shy with the jalapeños. The onion rings were delicious. I noticed today when ordering they have chicken sandwiches so I will be back to try it.

Yelp
Reviewing again after a year. We just ordered for pickup. The burgers are always so tasty. It's their meet. It is so fresh and you can taste the beefiness (if that makes sense). They're large and thick. The brisket burger was ultra decadent. It was perfectly smoked and my husband loved it. Their Cajun fries (and regular fries) come with the burgers and were tasty as usual. We upgraded for onion rings on one of them for $2.50. They were dipped in a thick, slightly sweet funnel cake batter. They were very unique. Their fried pickles are great! They used to be disks but now they're fries. They're still just as tasty. I recommend this place to anyone who wants great burgers and well executed sides.

Yelp
The Burger was on point! The beer batter Oinion rings are "Damn good burgers " The pick your own options are pretty good on the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
The crinkle cut cajun fries were the star of the show. Great crisp to the fries and a fantastic seasoning. The burger while fine in flavor was overcooked and dry. I'll give this place another try to see if their smash burgers are any better.

Yelp
Ambur fire has one of the biggest and best smashed style burgers in Austin. They definitely have some Texas size burgers! We also love their wings especially the lemon pepper and Hickory & brown sugar bbq flavors. The lemon pepper wings were a little small this time, one of the pieces half the meat was gone. The bbq is not too sweet, a little tangy, and has a great smoky flavor. The meat is always cooked with flavor and super tender. The blackened ranch is delicious, and goes great with their Cajun fries. Love their banana pudding as well! Service is always very friendly but expect a 30 min-1 hour wait even during off times.

Yelp
4 instead of 3 because of service!! 4 instead of 5 because of the dry burgers and fatty bacon. The employee when we arrived was very helpful and courteous! We ordered the brisket burger, a cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger, and a side of onion rings. I was super excited to try this place but honestly didn't know it was a food truck. For a food truck the burgers came out as expected. Not sure how they are greasy and dry at the same time. Im guessing with a "smash burger" the juice gets smashed out of it? Idk but all of them were dry!! My daughters burger had bacon and she therw it away, it was disgustingly fatty!! I did offer to cook it for her but she declined. The onion rings were amazing but for the price I expected a few more‍ Overall, if I come back it will be to get the sides, not a burger.

Yelp
Love this place! I have only really had the double smash mouth with cheese and bacon. It has never disappointed me, which is why I keep coming back. The crew that works here are always friendly, and kind.

Yelp
Great Burgers cooked to order. Always greeted with sincere, friendly service. Saturday brisket special is hard to beat anywhere, and yes I know I'm saying that about food truck in Texas.

Yelp
This place is a food truck located on a lot on Highway 79 approximately 1/4 MI West of County Road 110. It is easy to miss the entrance. I have read numerous reviews and have been meaning to try their Smash Burgers for a number of months. Today was the day I finally decided to come out and try them. The food is cooked in a trailer and there is a 20 by 40 ft building next to it with picnic tables and propane heaters for diners to sit in relative comfort. Instead of ordering off the menu, I asked the cook what he recommended. He suggested that unless I was extremely hungry I should order the single burger with whatever vegetables I wanted on it put on Texas toast. That seemed good to me and I was happy with the Texas toast instead of a regular bun. All in all the burger was okay but not spectacular as other diners had experienced. It was a little on the dry side and the meat was extremely well done. I would have preferred a little more juiciness in the meat. I ordered mine with extra onions, no ketchup and no mustard. There could have been more mayonnaise on it though. The french fries we're nothing to write home about. They were very salty and I ordered mine as cajun fries. They simply sprinkled Cajun seasoning on top of the already salty french fries. The price was reasonable and not much higher than I would have spent at Whataburger. All in all I probably would not bring a guest out here thinking that they were going to get a magical Burger experience. I might try it one more time by myself just to see if I got them on an off day.

Yelp
I ordered food from this place online, and I do not recommend that you do it because once you get the food, is nearly impossible to complain about anything. I ordered chicken strips and when I saw them, I realized that they have been refried too many times, they were so dark and even had a weird taste. I did not eat them.

Michelle L.

Yelp
4 tablespoons of pudding in each $5 pudding cup. Looks nothing like the pics on the menu and tastes like chalk. Restaurant should be embarrassed to serve this.

Yelp
Wings, cheesesticks, onion rings, everything was super delicious. Nice size wings. Recently got to try the brisket it melts in your mouth. Highly recommend. Food delivered quick. Location is convenient. Nice vibe.

Yelp
Although there were a couple of hiccups when it came to actually getting the correct order, the food was SO worth it! The absolute best burger I've ever had! I don't get too many toppings but there was still SO much flavor in every bite. I like my food seasoned well and that it was!! Although, my niece claimed hers was "too salty" so I guess it's just personal preference. If you like bland food this is not the place for you! It was also the biggest burger I've ever had which explains the cost. Picture doesn't do it justice.
google avatar

Dean G.

Yelp
Burger was okay at best. They do the shredded lettuce. Never understood why people will make a nice thick burger, but use crap quality toppings. Fries weren't even done. Soggy.
google avatar

Cassandra C.

Yelp
Definitely not Gluten friendly. I ordered a burger and was told I could do it with no bun because they don't offer a GF bun, which is ok, just not ideal. But they didn't even serve it with a lettuce wrap. It was served to me in a pile of shredded lettuce. The crinkle cut fries that accompanied my burger were so salty my guy couldn't even eat them. I was able to use my burger to eat mine. He said his mushroom Swiss burger was decent and the brioche bun was good. The fried pickles were in strings, not rounds and could not be substituted for his fries. So the side order of them was so large more than 1/2 were thrown away. They too were so over saturated in salty breading that you were eating almost exclusively oily crunchy dough. We would never know until we tried. We thought we'd give it a go since they claimed to be voted best burger. We tried and will likely never try again. But for those of you who enjoy salt, you might love it.

Yelp
Just had the absolute skimpiest blt ever, one flat pc of B. . Fries were decent in quantity.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Great food, really nice people. The brisket burger is fantastic, as well as the onion rings. Everything we've had here over a few visits was great.

Greg B.

Yelp
Best Smash Burger I have ever tasted!!! Cajun Fries are wonderful as well! Give them a try, you won't be sorry.
google avatar

Carwin M.

Yelp
That smash burger is next level good! Cajun fries on point as well. Always get friendly good service and you can't argue against a local food truck scene here in Round Rock. Support your local burger joint!

Yelp
While working remotely today, my Boo surprised me with a lunch treat by ordering through Grub Hub. We opted for the basket of fries, honey pot wings, and Boom Boom wings. Unfortunately, the Boom Boom wings lacked the expected spiciness, and we were uncertain about the sauce used. As for the honey pot wings, they had an overwhelming taste of hot sauce mixed with sweetness. The "seasoned" fries arrived cold along with tha wings and tasted like they were fried in old oil. Overall, the wings and fries turned out to be a disappointment, resulting in a less-than-satisfying lunch experience. It's a no for me.
google avatar

Lee D.

Yelp
At window, young man offered me a sample of brisket! At the bite I was sold, ordered chopped beef! Asked what kind fried I wanted and told him no fries, but he told me that was the only way I can get the sandwich if I ordered fries which I think it's a little wasteful of food if I didn't want them and plus I just wanted a sandwich I don't understand why you can't do that but OK. Great smoke flavor, toasted bun, simple sauce not over powering. The Cajun fries that came were full of flavor, crispy and just right amount. So thumbs up for this place. Worth the wait.

Yelp
Second time going here. Great burger! Order was ready on time. We ordered burgers, chicken sandwich, chicked strips, cheesesticks and a desert! Also received text and email when it was ready. Will go again for sure!

Yelp
Bad service took an hour to get my Good for a burger still wasn't done don't waste you're time go else where highly un recommend
google avatar

Yelp
As was stated in an earlier review, not a "smash burger". Great flavor but for over $10.00 little underwhelming. Paid extra for Onion Rings and they were mostly batter, and under cooked at that. Will try them again since they are locally owned and a small business. Service was great but just got it to go since we live close by. Dining area looked ok.

David P.

Yelp
First time!!! I like building my own cheeseburger. Burger was juicy and well Seasoned.. great fries too and crispy.
google avatar

Jaimie J.

Yelp
Ordered through door dash - Mushroom Swiss burger w/ fries - 7/10 Single smashburger w/ fries - 8/10 Both burgers were really dense and heavy but flavor was good. You could tell everything was really fresh. Nothing too special about them but got the job done! Fries - 7/10 - Arrived kinda cold (not their fault) however they did give us an extra order which I appreciated!! I bet they would be really yummy fresh. Fried pickles - 10/10 - probably the best fried pickles I've ever had, fiancé says the same. The seasoning was perfect and had a little kick to it. Even though they didn't arrive perfectly crisp, still 10/10! The ranch it came with was good too. Overall, we are happy with our order. Probably wouldn't go back for the burgers, but the pickles definitely.
google avatar

Toni G.

Yelp
We heard great things about the burgers so we decided to head over there . We ordered for our friend and then decided not to order anything else . The three sweaty boys with dirty nails wiping sweat with their hands was enough for me. It the matter of five minuets they scratch their head, nose , and ear and took money ,,, no thanks they all need baths
google avatar

Jesse B.

Yelp
Only reason I am giving it a one star it's because so far 3 times I e ordered from this place and they never got any of my orders right . 3 times o have asked for onion rings and they added fries instead. Also I've asked for no pickle on the burger and they add pickles.
google avatar

Luis S.

Yelp
Food had a real good taste service was real good and place has a outdoor seating area with games for the kids

Andre V.

Yelp
Not really what I ordered dosent look close to at all like the picture and has no pico de gallo or onions or any vegetables.
google avatar

Nehemiah L.

Yelp
Wow are you kidding, look at this amazing burger. Ambur fire knows how to do it right. This place is perfect if your looking for a gourmet bite if your waiting to get your car fixed or doing other things around the area Scott doesn't disappoint. :)
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Nice option from the mega-burger companies. Good food, eating shelter available with old school Pac-Man game to play while you wait for your order.
google avatar

Rhonda H.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. I love smash burgers and this one is top of my list. It was delicious, A half pound of beef cook just right. With of course a yummy potato bun. My husband loved the onion rings as did I. The owner said they will be doing special burgers in the future. The location is easy to find, use Facebook to order ahead and just tell them when your coming by. So good
google avatar

Oscar L.

Yelp
I haven't eaten there but have been there twice to pick up deliveries and was not pleased with the wait time specially when they say it will be about 5 minutes and twenty minutes later still not done to top it off when you ask about it they close the window on you and pretty much tell you to go away if you want to,not to nice a way to do business
google avatar

Steven C.

Yelp
Decent tasting burgers but really nothing special about it. The Burgers were a bit dry. There are other options in the area that may be worth more visiting.

Sonja Z.

Yelp
These burgers are no joke!! 1/2 pounders of meat and worth every bit! Must try the fried pickles too!! Can't go wrong with this place!!
google avatar

Marlan F.

Yelp
I went there hoping to enjoy one of their burgers but got blindsided by the brisket. The employee asked if I would like a sample and I was sold. The brisket was moist and tender. Both service and food was great! The buyer will have to wait till next time.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Fantastic! We stopped by but for a different food truck a few months ago. There were no tables to eat at so we ate at our truck which was right next to Ambur Fire. They were closed but the owner was leaving and offered us his table and chairs to use. We spoke for a bit and his generosity alone sold us to try this place out. AMAZING! The fries are perfectly cooked and seasoned, the meat of the burger is juicy, tastes fresh, and is seasoned perfectly. Pictured is the single smash burger (my husband got the cowboy and he said it was perfect). Way worth the price as this is a perfect upgrade of Whataburger and In-N-Out combined.
google avatar

Theresa A.

Yelp
The BEST burger ever!! So impressed! Beef - delicious, fresh and cooked perfectly. Generous amount of fresh toppings. Fries cooked perfectly- soft and fresh. Burger is HUGE. Highly recommend. Will definitely order again.
google avatar

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Just okay... The first time we tried to go oct 30 at 5, got there and even though open online man at window says closed. Second time for lunch on a Thursday, super long wait. Maybe our expectations were too high? Also, there's no menu displayed on food truck. If you want to look at the menu you have to stay on a barcode. $14 for a dry burger, crinkle fries and a coke... Just over cooked burger... And bun too, even a little on the stale side... Makes me wonder if all these five star reviewers don't own a grill at home. A shame.
google avatar

Jay M.

Yelp
I loved their hamburger! Their wait is a little long but they let you know upfront how long it will be (you just hope it's sooner) and it's also because they cook it fresh so you can't be mad. I will take that over wait time any day. The owners are super nice and so are their employees. I'm excited to see what this place is going to be like in the next few years. If anybody deserves your business, it's this one.
google avatar

JA V.

Yelp
A bit pricey for food truck but wow are the burgers good! I'd say probably the best burger around the HWY 79 corridor! If you get the double with bacon wear loose pants
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
We tried it for the first time tonight. The burger was really good but the Buffalo wings were incredible. I think they only do wings on Wednesday. The Cajun fries were really good also. Service was excellent. All good things here.
