AMC Mercado 20

Midnight showing and Fan Event: everything went smoothly. Would recommend for Fan Events. After a miserable experience at the amc in Saratoga, this fan event was handled as it should be: when you show your ticket for a fan event, the staff ask if you want the freebie that's included for the event, which they keep behind the counter. Not just leaving everything out in the open for anyone to take like at Saratoga AMC. The Dolby sound system in Auditorium 9 was amazing! The seats would shake and added to jumpscares. The auditorium itself was massive, screen is curved and I noticed that the handicap seats aren't pushed up against the walkway wall so they have their own proper aisle. Every aisle also had a low wall in front so you're not bothered by the row in front of you. The seats are pretty large compared to the lounge chairs at (Oakridge) Cinemark but I noticed the controls have become desensitized so I couldn't easily adjust my recline. Unfortunately, J row which is has seats right in front of the entry halls has the bottom corner of their view obstructed by the walkway wall so avoid J24 and J1 if possible. It's not the worse but just one seat over is better. Parking lot felt safe when we left very late at night. Overall, I'm looking forward to watching another movie here.

This movie theater is so nice I want to see the new Jurassic Park rebirth it is amazing in 3D I highly recommend 3D it's a little bit more money but is well worth it

Amazing AMC theater! The seats have a heat warmer and they recline. The lines are a bit long at the concession stand but great customer service.

I love all the non-fabric seats and the lounger chairs that recline. Makes the theater feel so much cleaner. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. I have been here many times and I always enjoy coming here. The only down side is the parking. So I won't suggest coming here last minute.

Everytime we go here the popcorn is old and stale. I’m positive it’s because of their terrible system of putting popcorn in prefilled bags ahead of time and leaving them on the counter for customers grab, so they get old and stale very fast as they’re waiting. Even when you ask for fresh the ones in their popcorn machine aren’t much better because they don’t actively make fresh batches since they continue to prefill the bags on the counter to sit until they run out. So they are always stale and chewy regardless. No other AMC movie theatre does it this way. Management needs to change this.

Excellent theater that is very modern and spacious with incredibly plush seats and a surprisingly generous amount of bathrooms on each wing of the theater.

Amazing Dolby experience! Highly recommended for dolby screen experience. Easy to park and get into theater easily.

Pretty good movie theater. Comfortable seats that recline. Too cold inside for me. I had to bring a jacket in, even though outside temperatures was above 80 degrees.

I had a great experience at AMC Mercado! The theater was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The seats were super cozy, and the sound and picture quality were excellent -- definitely makes the movie feel more immersive. The staff was friendly and quick, especially at the concession stand, which I always appreciate. I also love how easy it is to find parking and how convenient the theater is to get in and out of. Overall, AMC Mercado is one of my favorite spots to catch a movie. I'll definitely be coming back!

I've been to plenty of theaters that are newer, cleaner, and more comfortable, but this AMC still has a soft spot in my heart. Located in a busy plaza with an In-N-Out and other spots, parking can be tricky, especially on weekends. Be sure to give yourself some extra time. We watched the new superman recently, and they turned the lights all the way up the second the credits rolled -- haven't seen that in a while. Overall: not the best theater, but not the worst. It's affordable, familiar, and good enough when you're just looking to catch a quick movie without breaking the bank.

Great theater in the South Bay. I've seen many movies there and love the convenience (parking, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.). I can't remember when theaters started selling alcohol, but that is another added benefit. The theaters themselves are good. Seats are comfortable, some recline and there seems to be more room for path of travel. The screens are big and picture & sound really immerse you into the movie--especially IMAX. Saw F1 and it was incredible. Don't know what is coming next, but whatever it is, I'll be at the Mercado. WOOOH!!!!

It has been awhile since I last came to AMC Mercado 20. I don't like looking for a parking spot here nor the old outdated stadium seating. No thank you. But tonight, I saw a movie in theater 20 and I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see that it was remodeled to the recliner seats.

Big spacious theatres, good sound, and a nice large lobby that can handle crowds. The "rocker" chairs can be a little squeaky and that's annoying. With reserved seating I know I can come a little bit late to miss the previews.

Gotta beat the heat by hitting a cool flick. We purchased tickets on line so we just walked right to the snack bar. The snack bar cashier was pleasant and joking around with us but then we had to wait a bit for our popcorn. The gourmet cheese was out of this world but sad that there were no refills. We couldn't even have a refill of the original unless we paid again. (If you pay for an original you get refills) Oh well. Definitely a little pricey: a large drink and large cheese popcorn for $25.79. The drink area wasn't too inviting as it had a sticky floor which is to be expected but not to the extent it was upon opening. The counter was over loaded with straw papers but I don't blame the establishment but filthy patrons. It may be a great idea to place an open garbage can in the area so one would have to walk into it. The theater was clean and lit just right so you don't stumble over your own feet. Had an enjoyable day date with the hubs.

Always like coming to this theater. Variety of movies, types of theater offerings, and the staff are friendly. Also the best part is the soda fountains- 1000's of options/combinations.

AMC Mercado - 4 stars Our go to movie theatre. There has been an increase of car break ins so be aware. They do have a security guard that patrols but it's hard to look after the cars in the further back rows, or that's not under a bright light in visibly. The movie theatre itself is pretty well maintained. Certain theaters are smaller than others depending on the movie. They have your usual bar and ordering in the center between the two sides of the theatre. Afternoon time on weekends could get super crowded I notice. Sometimes the bathrooms are not as well kept as I'd like them to be

AMC Mercado 20 is my go-to theater for a great movie night. I have AMC Stubs A-List (even with the recent price increase), and for the number of movies my friends and I watch, it's still worth it. Mercado is one of the best locations in the area because it's right off the freeway, surrounded by plenty of food options, and has comfortable seating. All of the seats here recline, and even the laser theaters have seat warmers, which is a nice touch. Plus, they offer IMAX and Dolby, so there's always a premium option if you want an upgraded experience. It has aged a bit...it's not as new as the Sunnyvale location (not all of the seat work). From where we live in San Jose, this is the best theater in the area. The concessions process is streamlined, and check-in is always efficient. I've never had any major disruptions during a movie, which is a huge plus. Out of all the theaters nearby, this is definitely my favorite spot for a low-key night out. Update: restrooms need work...

On my AMC app it sez this theater is temporarily CLOSED Hopefully, they're gonna do some major cleaning in there. I don't mind the theater. It's close enough to my house, but the parking lot is terrible. You take your risk parking there because every time we go there people's windows are busted out. It's a shit neighborhood around there for sure

Solid movie theater with reclining and heated seats. Some of the arm rests lift up which is nice if you're watching a movie with your partner. This plaza gets pretty busy with the in-n-out in the same parking lot, but still there was plenty of parking available.

Something important about movie theaters are seats... and the seats here are so uncomfortable! The seats are pretty stiff and the recline is not good. My partner and I purchased tickets to watch Despicable Me 4 in the Dolby Cinema room and the price totaled to $27 plus a $2 service fee from Atom (third party app). For a ticket that is around $30, I'd hope that the seats would be comfortable.. The theater itself is relatively decent and clean. The ticketing process is also pretty easy going.

Haven't been to movies in years. Was shocked to see the prices,but it was expected. I think that's why I stopped going. But since this was a planned outing I'll focus on the positive. The popcorn is is fresh and I love that you can put as much butter on as you want. Also still refills for the large tub. The sound was the best part . Even though the seats recline, they still weren't that comfortable. They need to extend just a little bit more to be fully comfortable. But it was still a great time

I've been to AMC Mercado many times and twice in the last month. Auditoriums: clean. Comfortable well kept reclining chairs. Didn't notice any worn out chairs as in other theaters I've visited recently. Concession: They don't offer dine in. They have more of the snack type food like nachos, sliders, pretzel and sodas. Ticketing: Nice that they waive the online fee if you're a club member. The lowest club membership, Insider, is free. Parking: can be difficult during peak hours as they share parking lot with restaurants and TJ Maxx Staff were nice and friendly. They answer questions without making you feel that you're bothering them.

Gotta point out that I'm an AMC Stubs A-List Premier member, so I do go to the movies more often than most people. This is my go-to spot when it comes to cinema, but it's really starting to show its age, especially if you've been to the Sunnyvale location just a couple exits away. What's great about AMC Mercado is its location. There's a Walmart, In-N-Out, Smoke Eaters, Tomatina, and just about whatever you wanna eat within the same plaza. Drive out a little further and you have HiroNori Craft Ramen right there -- there's always something to do before and after the movie. The movie-viewing experience isn't what it once was, even with the fantastic Dolby Cinema option. A lot of the recliners no longer work and to make matters worse, the "joint" recliners that allow you to put the armrest up have no supporting backrest in the middle, leading to an uncomfortable experience if you're trying to cuddle up with your significant other. Aside from that, it's still a solid experience if you're there to watch a movie and not worry about your chair. The way they handle their concessions to me is the most ideal of all the AMCs I frequent, so that's nice.

Pleasant staff. Seating is comfortable and in good condition. However, every surface was filthy. Better cleaning is needed between shows -- especially the seats and armrests, which are all greasy and sticky.

I absolutely love this AMC theater. I've been coming here for over 15 years and it's always been a good experience. A few years ago, it was upgraded so all the auditoriums have signature recliners with heated seats, which are very well maintained (no stains or yucky stuff on them). Generally speaking, the theater is very well maintained (no popcorn over the floors or trash in the bathrooms). In terms of service, it's very good! I make online reservations so all I have to do is have my QR code scanned which takes less than 30 seconds (I don't think there's ever been a line to get in) and then I'm walking to my auditorium. In terms of food, I would say it's alright. I've tried all the different types of popcorn (except the ranch one) and the jalapeño cheese stuffed pretzel knots which I would say are nice but I would only get if I have a discount or rewards available. But what I really love about the theater is the wide selection of films that are shown. I like watching international films and I feel like this theater gets most of the ones that are released through AMC. Everytime I'm looking at the showtimes available there's always movies in Japanese, Telugu, Cantonese, Hindi, Mandarin, Tamil, Korean, and sometimes French and Spanish. Sometimes a movie is in a very limited release being shown in only ~25 theaters across the country and this AMC will be showing it. For example, The Moon Thieves, Noryang: Deadly Sea, and I Did it My Way were all limited releases but available at this theater. But, if you like watching the major blockbusters this is also a great theater to go to because they have IMAX with Laser, Dolby Cinema, Prime, and 3D as well so you have the opportunity to have a more immersive experience. Overall, this is a really great theater and I will keep coming here.

Plenty of parking now, even on weekends and nights. Easy to purchase tickets online and reserve seats. Alcohol bar available and plenty of varieties of snacks from popcorn, nachos, pretzels, sliders. Stadium seating and reservations only. Leather seats and reclinable. Restrooms need cleaning for a Saturday early evening but otherwise a great theater.

I would like to file a complaint about a manager named Braden at your Mercado location. We drove from Morgan Hill (about a 40-minute drive) to watch a movie that was listed as Standard. We showed our free movie tickets to the staff, and were told they couldn't be used because it was a "special event." However, there was no mention anywhere that this showing was a special event. I understand that free tickets can't be used for IMAX or premium formats, but that was not the case here. When we pointed this out, Braden said, "They should have written that on there, but it wasn't." Instead of trying to find a solution, he dismissed the issue and turned us away. As a customer service manager, he should be focused on resolving problems -- not making the situation worse. We drove 40 minutes each way only to be denied entry due to something that wasn't even clearly stated. That's unacceptable customer service and reflects poorly on your management standards. Please take this complaint seriously -- Braden's handling of this situation was unprofessional and disappointing.

Classic movie theater with cozy reclining seats with optional heating! My friend and I accidentally booked a ticket for AMC Sunnyvale and showed up here for the movie time we thought we bought and guest services were really kind and understanding. They were able to accommodate our tickets and transfer our tickets for the showing we thought we booked as they said this actually happens frequently. Very happy with my experience and thankful they helped turn around a stressful moment.

The cost of a matinee ticket is what brought me. I bought the cheese (gourmet) popcorn which was STALE. The Manger replaced it with regular, which was also STALE. It's one thing to pay $4-6 more for popcorn, but to be served a traditional movie snack makes the experience HORRIBLE!!!

A big movie theatre that anchors this busy plaza. There's a few hiccups, but this place does the job. Tickets usually come out to $17 for Friday nights. They also have 30% matinee before 3 pm. The seats are heated recliners, but one of my friend's chairs were broken! He had to have good posture for the whole movie LOL Popcorn and snacks are pay & go. $17 for a large drink and popcorn combo is pretty insane... A SmartWater bottle is $6 too. The worst part is the popcorn was STALE. Expensive and it didn't hit the spot!

Wow....this place is a dump. Working out of state and I looked for an AMC theater with reclining seats and a bar. I thought AMC was always a safe bet, but I guess not. When you arrive there is 1 person selling tickets and also checking in tickets that have been purchased online. So if you think you are saving time by booking online and you are just going to head right in and have your ticket scanned by someone just scanning online tickets you are out of luck. You have to wait behind however many people haven't even bought their tickets yet. Then I wanted to get a drink at the bar. No one to be seen at 8p. I asked at another concession stand and someone kindly came over to get me a drink as the bartender was on their break. Went into the movie theater and it strongly smelled of toilets. Maybe just an issue with that screen (16) as it's next to the bathrooms, but definitely not ideal for a nearly 3 hour movie. The one good thing I can say is my recliner worked. After about an hour I figured I would get another glass of wine. That might help distract me from the strong toilet odor. Nope. Apparently the bar closes at 9pm. Amazing the bartender is on their break at 8p yet it closes at 9p. They told me at one of the concession stand that the bartender leaves at 10 every night and they stop serving at 9 so they have an HOUR to clean up without serving drinks. I have never heard of such a thing. And note that this is a tiny bar with very limited drink selection, so I cannot fathom how it can take an hour and requires so much concentration that the bartender can't also serve drinks at the same time. Interestingly the bartender wasn't in sight, so I guess the one hour of cleaning happens not actually at the bar. Or maybe a phantom bartender given they were nowhere to be seen at any point. So if you like waiting in line to get in when you have already bought your tickets online, sitting in a theater that smells of toilets, and a limited bar that is only open extremely limited hours then this is the place for you. I guess I learned something about AMC, as I thought all their theaters were nice.

Love this location, but I'm disappointed that they've started charging for condiments like jalapeños. Hopefully, napkins and utensils aren't next. It takes away from an otherwise great experience.

Came here to watch Black Panther- Wakanda Forever and was pleasantly surprised by the remodeled standard theatre. It is small but so cozy and modern with wood finishings and the seats are a nice soft brown leather. It reminded me of sitting in someone's home theatre like the ones that are common in big houses in Texas. Enjoyed the cozy intimate lux feeling as we watched a long but awesome movie!! (Was in theatre #17)

Easy to use AMC phone app made it super convenient to purchase tickets, popcorn and drink online.

1st off I'm not quite sure if this is in a sketchy area or not as there was an armed security guard with a vest on standing in front of the theaters before and after we saw the movie. This theater has great recliner chair seating with heaters. Wifey and I got a huge pretzel "like 2 lbs." with AMC version nacho cheese sauces, two containers. We also shared KFC size bucket of popcorn and we got 2 icy drinks, yah we pigged out lol!!

One of my favorite amc locations just really hate that ur ticket scanner person doesnt ever give the physical tickets anymore, alot people care about small things like this

We went to AMC Mercado last Thursday to watch the new Wonka movie but the experience was not good. The IMAX salon has a loud buzzing sound in the background. You could hear it even during the movie some scenes. Also the seats do not recline and do not have heating. I would not recommend choosing the IMAX salon at this theater.

This theater has been a staple in my family and friend outings for years. We went to go watch Jawan yesterday and really appreciate that they have Hindi movies at this AMC. We loved the recliner cushion seats -- it definitely adds to a relaxing movie experience. The theater was also super clean and the seats were in good condition. Yes food is overpriced, but what's a movie without a snack or drink. At least there's refills! Highly recommend signing for the free AMC Premiere list for $7 movies on Tuesday and free drink/popcorn upgrades too :) Also there's a TON of food options near the theater & lots of parking.

It's fine but parking can be a disaster. I prefer the other AMCs. This one seems a bit outdated.

Worst experience ever the staff here they all hate their jobs, everyone of them would rather be somewhere else. I get it trust me but it's so unpleasant for the customer, it makes it hard to justify going out anymore when you can entertain at home for cheaper and not deal with the attitude. We bought snacks and the girl at the checkout was in the worst mood. She gave me the wrong receipt - we bought popcorn. Then when I went back to her she said oh just pick up he popcorn so I said there's no large and they are calling out numbers. She looked me dead in my face and said just wait. No one is as told how the snack pick up worked so about twenty people just stood around confused because the staff all hate their job. The hiring process needs to be fixed or it will have a trickle down effect we'll all just buy it on Apple TV or something and then theaters will close it will be a mess.

Love this theater! Every screen has recliner seats (except I think the prime theater - not sure why) Only downside...I can't order my kids' pack on mobile. It's perfect for me. But it is a very nice place to catch a movie since lots of restaurants & Starbucks & jamba juice right next door.

I came to this AMC theater twice within the span of a week. My friends live in San Jose so when I visited them they picked this theater for us to watch movies. We saw "Magic Mike the Last Dance" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", both were bad movies lol. The movie theater was decent, you reserve your seat ahead of time and they have the nicer seats that recline.

MacGuffins management: 1. If bartenders are going to be using their phones when there are no customers, they need to wash hands with soap before making drinks. 2. There is no need for a bartender to touch the rim of my cup; you can pass it to me from the side, not holding it from the top. 3. Bartenders need to learn how to put a straw in a drink in a sanitary manner. The actual movie theater was good.

Pretty huge movie theater. Came to watch Childe as this is the only movie theater that has it. The seat was comfortable, and the sound system was great. It was clean inside the studio. Your order and pay at one section and pickup at other section. This place also has a bar. We ordered a popcorn combo, and I like it. The caramel is yummy. The food area is a bit messy. I wish they didn't let customer do self-service butter. The floor is a bit mess at at the butter area. The self-service drink is also a bit not that great. The least place I appreciate is the restroom. It is kind of oudated, and the toilet is so odd with so much gap on the wall that people can see inside. I think it needs a makeover.

Very clean and the people working there were amazing the movie was great the popcorn was popping if you will and after the movie had a delightful beverage at the bar the enjoyed another movie a I really enjoyed my day off thank you AMC theaters

I have been going to AMC Mercado as long as it has been open but will never return again. First of all this theater needs upgrades and yet we still went here regardless but what happened on Friday cannot be excused. My husband and I purchased tickets to one of their Studio Events and when we arrived on a Friday night we we were told it was canceled. Just like that. They had better sales in line for a movie that just came out and our tickets that we purchased weeks earlier were worthless because of AMC Mercado bottom line. Any attempt to remedy this with a walk in voucher was Weak and insignificant. The special Studio event was treated like it was an after thought...and we weren't even appreciated as paying customers ...our plans were thwarted because the same event that was playing Friday thru Sunday night was reduced to Sat and Sun just like that as we entered the doors. Another couple traveled hours to this special event promoted by AMC itself. Never will I return to Mercado.

Very nice place to watch movies. All the seats are lazy boy style with heating. Would love to come back again.

Overall a fair experience however they do need to improve the lighting at the parking lot and the seats are outdated and overused. You can see cracks on the seats like it's vintage.

went here for Ghostbusters frozen empire in Dolby. theater was clean, they had all the speakers in the Dolby and the screen is very big. I'm going here again for the imax for Godzilla x kong the new empire next weekend. overall the food is good as usual with amc and the sound is great as usual with Dolby. great theater and the imax screen is pretty big too. haven't gone yet but I know that the screen is 31 by 57ft. as for the standard theaters those are good too. recliner chairs, surround sound and depending on the show room pretty big screens. 7/10 overall

It's definitely getting older but it's still cool. They have a bar in the lobby. The popcorn is not fresh ($11 for a large with one refill as a Stubs member). Plenty of parking (lot). Several theaters which seem decently clean. Theaters with recliner chairs and seat warmers. Attached photo of the smallest (#17), second row from the back. Not a lot of customer care: For instance they left the door open and you can hear people outside your theater exiting from other movies talking really loudly.

Appreciate the one-way entry and exit lines for scanning your ticket as Santa Clara county re-opens without a mask mandate. Lots of hand sanitizer stations. Staff wearing masks. Prices are as expected for movies these days! Theatres are clean with modern recliner seats with a heating option. The heaters get HOT and can be easily turned on by accident so mind your small kids as it could burn very sensitive skin. Audio quality is great and not too "loud".

Please avoid!! Your safety is at risk because of the staff who can't do their job right. The staff let in people who had a reservation at a different AMC location and those people occupied our seats. When asked to move, they became physical, abusive and threw drinks at us. The staff had no information about the people who came in, and just escorted them out of the theatre without any action taken against them. This could happen to anyone, for no fault of their own, and impacts not just the experience but also one's safety because of how easily AMC theaters let people in and don't ensure seat assignment is correct.

We have been going to AMC 20 for more than 15+ yrs we have watched a lot of American & Bollywood movies here. We love having popcorn & coke here while watching movies tried their chicken nuggets too it was ok we miss their Jalapeño poppers more ( hope they bring it back on the menu). Being Memorial weekend we thought of catching up with a movie & have a relaxing day. We love the theater even more especially after the renovation this theater really required it love their leather recliner seats some theater have seat warmers too, only one thing bothers me is that I had expected them to do update their restrooms too. Today in the restroom none of the soap dispensers were working I think someone forgot to refill it ( all 5 taps were out of soap) hope they keep it well maintained. Other then that we love it. We love that the theater has lots of parking spaces & food options outside like Tomatina, World Wraps etc.

Great theater, not much that other theaters don't have, but nothing to complain about. Was excited to watch The Forever Purge on 4th of July! This theatre was closest to the only (legal) fireworks show nearby so we ended up here before the fireworks, and were not disappointed. You order the movie tickets and choose your seats in advance, they scan the QR code on your phone, and tell you which side to find your auditorium. They have comfy reclining seats (which go back further than most other theaters) that also have the heating option. The sound and picture quality were excellent, and the entire place was clean. All workers we interacted with during our visit were helpful and friendly, especially the concessions cashier. They have the self serve soda machines where you can choose from a wide range of flavors (I got fanta zero grape flavor)! And the nachos come with a nacho cheese container as well as a salsa container for dipping. Lots of parking available outside in a shared lot next to In-n-out. Great experience overall!

Bought the ticket on line and this is the only theaters show movie form Hong Kong! Love that the ticket is on sale today to celebrate the theatre day! Love the recline seat and you can even have heated seat! Love the small theater !
