🚨 First Responder Approved! 🚒🚑🚓🫡 As a First Responder on a quick break, I was just looking for a bite to eat and stumbled across this gem on Google Maps. I originally came in for a gyro—but wow, I got so much more than I expected. I ended up ordering the chicken shawarma dinner thinking it was just a wrap, but what I received was a full, flavorful platter with tender lamb and beef, seasoned rice, and a crisp, refreshing salad. The portions were so generous, I had enough food for two days. I was honestly shocked—in the best way possible! The price tag was around $15, which made me pause at first—but let me tell you, it was worth every penny. The food was absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and made with obvious care. And then there was Mohammed. His customer service was beyond exceptional. When I expressed concern about the price, he reassured me with confidence—and he wasn’t wrong. The food was delicious. But the moment that truly made my day was when he noticed I couldn’t afford a drink, and without hesitation, he gave me one on the house. That small act of kindness meant the world. While I waited, he even let me try a dessert (shown in the photo)—something I would’ve never thought to order on my own. And I’m glad he did. It was tasty, light, and surprisingly good—a perfect way to end the meal. In a world where great food and even greater hospitality are rare, this place delivers both—and then some. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for amazing food, generous portions, and genuine human kindness. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you, Mohammed, for turning my quick stop into a full experience. I’ll definitely be back.

I've lived in the UAE for 15 years and this food is one of the closest I've had to authentic middle eastern cuisine. The food was delicious, service was excellent, and if they still have the mint lemon "smoothie" do try it. Was so nostalgic to eat here. 10/10 bringing the whole crew back. Also everything is halal and homemade!

Google
Super disappointing. Not even worth half the price. Meat was seasoned decently, but chicken was dry, kofta was dry and I couldn’t even finish one piece of the beef kabob cause it was so chewy. The sauces were not good; one was a strong lemon/citrus aioli and the other a watery tahini. “Salad” was diced cucumber, tomatoes and bell peppers. Next time I want Mediterranean, I’ll just head to Taziki’s.

Google
I am currently eating by far the best lamb shank that I’ve tasted in 42 years. Hands down. This restaurant has the best spicy mayo, humus, Lebanese salad omg everything is seasoned to freakin perfection.

Yaz

Google
The food is very tasty. My only suggestion is to use less salt in the fries and salad. Other than that I liked it

Google
Combo 1: I’ve been trying to numerous shawarma spots and it was my first time try this one. Food is all fresh, delicious, and the portions are amazing for the price. I highly recommend yall come give this place a try

Was in town for an event and my wife and wanted some good Mediterranean food. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was friendly. We ordered a big plate of food and it did not disappointment.

Google
I've been coming here for years. The owner's son Mo now running it. Always very good, it got even better. The new version of the chicken shawarma sandwich is excellent. The pita is grilled, warm and crispy and the chicken wonderful..Fries were great and plentiful. Highly recommended... And thanks for the sample of your lemon mint smoothie..yum!

Yelp
Place was amazing! Food taste great, great combos, no flaws 10/10. Very affordable and customer service is good.

Yelp
I love shawarma's and I cannot lie! I was introduced to this restaurant in 2016 at a wedding. I had to find out who catered the dinner and I was told it was Ameer's. I searched quickly where they were located and once I found them, I have been addicted. The good news, it is legal and I don't have to worry about going to counseling. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty! I love their Tabouli salad so I always get a large portion as a side. (Small will not cut it) The falafels are crispy and flavorful and that is no lie! As my main course, I had the lamb/chicken shawarma platter and no need to ask if there were left overs because there were not. My friend had the lamb shank and he basically ate the bone. My other friend is vegetarian and had the falafel platter and she loved it! The restaurant is quaint and cozy. Just what you need to have a great lunch/dinner. If you are ever in the area, stop by and falafel away as you will say "you had me at tabouli"

Paul B.

Yelp
love the food and have been a fan. unfortunately, last night our lentil soup was delivered in salad containers, so not a lot left

Nisha P.

Yelp
Located in Druid hills with good small parking lot is a hidden gem Ameers Mediterranean Grill! We got take out and the staff was so warm and kind while we were picking up! I got the kutfa kabob dinner! It tasted fresh and the warm pita was so yummy! This is a great place for a casual affordable meal!

Kadeesha L.

Yelp
Great food here with fast service! I ate in the restaurant and there is a plenty of space. The soda machine area was a bit of a mess and not as tidy/clean as I would have liked so thats why I took off once star. This is more of a grab and go! The food is tasty and good prices. I would go back for take out.

Chanel G.

Yelp
Hey y'all oh my goodness this restaurant is so delicious. The pita is warm, soft and fluffy the chicken Shawarma. It's flavorful. The falafels are tender. The baba ghanoush is so good. There is not much ambiance to dine in but there are booths and tables. But The food delivers! No hooka smoke just good food with a smile.

Saiteja G.

Yelp
Absolutely worthless and fake ratings in my honest opinion. I looked at the reviews and hoped for a really nice place. The moment I entered the parking lot I realized it's a smaller place. However, a lot of small places have good food and i was still excited. I walked into the store and had a terrible smell. I didn't want to dine in anymore and picked up a chicken swarma platter. It was some deep fried chicken on plain rice. It was absolutely terrible and I had to throw it all away.

Laura G.

Yelp
So, I've been here thrice in two weeks already. This place is everything. It looks unassuming and maybe a little run down from outside. Upon entering, there are 2 beautiful mural paintings on the walls and a nice playlist going- a few scattered booths and tables. The same nice cashier has greeted me all 3 times. So far my favorite is the falafel sandwich. Like... the best falafel sandwich I've had? It has a crispy exterior and a soft flavorful interior that is, praise god, not dry. The falafel rests in a pillowy pita that tastes like it could be made fresh (but I don't think it is?) and is layered among fresh cucumber AND pickles AND a red cabbage pickle. And wait, there's more-- yogurt sauce AND hummus!! It comes with a side of crispy, seasoned fries. The kebab is also delightful, and I do enjoy the baklava for dessert. They have fountain soft drinks, canned and bottled drinks- imported sodas/juices. No alcohol- I saw free Qurans stacked at the entry so that makes sense. I have dined in and has takeout. The way that they package their food for takeout is perfection and done so with the utmost care.

Yelp
Ameer's resides in a nondescript, small shopping center near the perpetually busy Briarcliff/La Vista intersection. When the mood for Middle Eastern struck, I ordered lunch from this small restaurant and my order was ready in 10 minutes. I opted for the combo #1 which, at around $20, consisted of both chicken and beef/lamb shawarma over rice, two falafels, a piece of pita, a scoop of hummus, and a side of Arabic salad. The quantity was decent and may have been enough for two smaller appetites, but I was starving and ate the whole thing. The lemony, bright hummus possessed a creamy, smooth texture free of grit and addictive scooped on to the soft, ostensibly homemade pita. The rendition of the chickpea dip here ranks among the best I've tasted in the area and was on par to what my wife and I have had in the Middle East. I also appreciated the freshly fried falafel fritters studded with herbs, which struck the ideal balance of crispy and fluffy. The side Arabic salad, though slightly soggy, offered punchy flavors of lemon and parsley which added a welcome, fresh component to the meal. The meat elements of my platter surprisingly fell short relative to their plant-based companions. I appreciate Ameer's offering of real beef/lamb shawarma rather than the processed ground meat loaf available elsewhere, and the balanced, warm spicing of the meat was excellent. With that being said, the shreds of red meat ate a little dry and chewy. The opposite criticism applies to the chicken shawarma in that the juicy, tender poultry lacked seasoning. Both shawarma varieties benefitted from a dousing of both tahini and hot sauces which complemented the flavors. While $20 is a little steep, the quality of the food and quantity made for a fair value overall. Ameer's thus acts as a great option in the area to satisfy your Middle Eastern fix. It's worth a visit for top notch hummus and falafel, and I'll be back for both soon.

Christopher K.

Yelp
The schwarma, hummus, and all the sides I eat there are phenomenal. The price and service are excellent as well. I've eaten here many times and never had anything but a delicious meal. Highly recommend

Andrew B.

Yelp
Let's be honest, I stuffed my face here. Might have lost my dignity while doing it, too. An old friend reached out, who I had not seen since before the pandemic. We used to work together, and there was a lot to catch up on. When he suggested Ameer's, I was crestfallen with embarassment because it's just far enough from work that I had never put it into the rotation. My loss, until today. The resturant is located at the northwest corner of Briarcliff and Lavista, across the street from the Aqua Tots swim center. The storefont is unasumming, the dining room very clean and quiet for being so close to a busy traffic artery. Anyway, they have some nice lunch specials. My friend bought me a "Combo 2" platter (pictured), which contained Beef/Lamb Shawarma, Chicken Kabob, Rice, Hummus, Falafel, & Lebanese Salad. He didn't have to do that, but I'll owe him a favor next time. I piled it all on some nice pita and went to town. The meats were really quite nice and well-seasoned; there was no overcooking or dryness. The salad was great too, with the coolness of the cucumbers and tomatoes. Don't get me started on the falafel. It was indeed crispy, hot and super flavorful. I was impressed by the honest portion size and psychological completeness of this combo dish - it really was a satisfying meal in a world where some Mediterranean spots will slap a puny kabob on rice and act like they've done you a favor. I've also heard that their Iftar buffet is really something. Those who observe may wish to try it out.

Nathan G.

Yelp
Everything was great about this place. From the food, service, quality, and portions.

Elyse W.

Yelp
We drive an hour from West Georgia to eat the delicious food at Ameer's. It is a journey of love. The falafel is the best in the region. And you can't ask for better service from Yaseer. He is knowledgeable about the menu, is attentive without being obtrusive, and just makes us feel at home. We highly recommend the food and the atmosphere and the friendly personnel.

Darrian J.

Yelp
So I stumbled upon this place because my roommate told me about. I'll speak on what I know. So reaching it is pretty easy but there is not much parking in its location, but across the street has ample parking. This places seems like a mom and pop store so the decor is pretty traditional. I usually order the lamb shawarma and it's honestly a lot of food. It comes in this bread that has a pocket and the meat is usually overflowing. The tzatziki sauce is light and flavorful but also enough to cover the entire dish. The size of the meat is usually in big chunks to the point that the pocket sometimes can't contain all of it. I don't know about others but this is fine with me. I'd rather have more than less. In the end I usually have to finish the dish with a fork and I'm stuffed. The food also comes out pretty quickly and the staff are kind. I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch if you're ever want something new but filling. Also the price is comparable to regular lunch meals these days in my opinion.

Kelsea L.

Yelp
Really delicious and authentic middle eastern cuisine. Great option for lunch or dinner as well. They have combos for anyone wanting a little bit of everything and lunch sized sandwiches that are great to just grab and go. Service is pretty quick and the gentleman taking orders is patient and kind. Ambiance is slow paced and quiet. There's traditional Islam prayer playing in the background which is nice to hear (I haven't heard those prayers since I was living in southern Spain, so it was a throwback for me)

Jim T.

Yelp
Ameer's food is positively delicious and authentic! Generous helpings for a good price. Friendly staff! Our family was all delighted with our selections. We'll be back often!!!

Brittney H.

Yelp
Good food can be hard to come by, but want to know what's extremely hard to come by? Excellent hospitality AND excellent food. We come from PTC for my daughters swim lessons, and just decided to pop in here for a quick bite to eat before heading home. I should've gotten the man's name, but our server was SO wonderful. I felt like I was a guest in his home. He was attentive, patient, and made sure we felt welcome. I had the lamb beef and chicken combo, and my husband had the double chicken combo. The food was so fresh, and made to perfection. I am honestly going to be dreaming about those falafels forever. The sauces were also made fresh, and it was very noticeable. My only complaint is that they don't have a restaurant in PTC! Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area!

Ramon F.

Yelp
The lamb with hummus is actually ground lamb, but it was very good. My wife enjoyed the beef and chicken shawarma. The lentil soup had great flavor. The falafel was great. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much is the pita bread, It wasn't fresh. The limited service was very friendly, and the price was easy on the pocket.

Dante M.

Yelp
We ordered take out from here on our Sunday recovery, and the food was incredible! I had the lamb shank that fell off the bone, some of the creamiest hummus and pita, and the freshest salad ever! My girlfriend had the lamb kebabs which were stunning as well! I would love to come into the restaurant to eat next time to get the full experience, but we are definitely fans of the food!

Cia B.

Yelp
Food: Food is delicious! Full of flavor. We got the beef and lamb platter and the massive lamb shank. The lamb shank FELL off the bone, it's in a rich tasty red sauce (not tomato-y though). The beef was smoked and flavorful. Big servings! Cost: Prices are sort of steep for a fast casual spot. Plates are 15-20$, but big portions. Order at the counter and they bring the food out, so not waiter service. Ambience: No frills decor, ample seating though.

Peter C.

Yelp
This place was OUTSTANDING! The food was absolutely delicious. The best mediterranean restaurant I've been to in Atlanta. The owner said they've been open for 13 years! That speaks volumes for a restaurant. Customer service was GREAT! I will go back again and regularly.

Mary D.

Yelp
Wish we had Ameer's in Philadelphia. A multiple-day family gathering led us to an evening when we decided to take a cooking break and order delivery from Ameer's. We ordered Msahab, kufta, babaganoush, grape leaves, two different shawarmas, and a couple of Palestinian salads. I clearly contributed no Levantine genes to my youngest child, and she ordered the blasphemous schnitzel with fries . Everything was perfect. Even the schnitzel, God forgive me. The bread included with the meal was perfect as well. So much flavor on our table, and all of us enjoyed every mouthful.

E E.

Yelp
The food and the service are 10/10. I walked in to pick up my food, and the man at the cashier was super friendly. He even offered my toddler a drink free of charge--typical arab people's generosity. I ordered the Musahab Chicken, which was delicious.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
Mediterranean food is one of my fav types of cuisines and I've been struggling to find a good spot in the Atlanta area. First impression the customer service is super great! The man running the place was very nice and brought us extra pita and checked in on us multiple times. I loved the hummus that's always a good sign of a good place is how creamy their hummus is, Ameer's is 5/5 for creamy hummus. Their pita was very soft too! Really enjoyed the chicken kabobs and shawarma as well. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area!

Aimee M.

Yelp
Food is awesome!! We love Mediterranean food and Ameer's is the best. The babaganoush tastes like sweet lemony love. We order for pickup and it's ready when we get there and we only live 5 minutes away.

Arpita B.

Yelp
This review is for take out only I have ordered take out from this Mediterranean restaurant a few times during this pandemic however, I have just gotten around to reviewing the restaurant. One thing that makes me come back here is the top-notch food! No matter what I have eaten it has always been freshly made, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. The falafel is crisp and perfectly cooked! The meat is always tender, juicy and flavorful! While clean, the dining area is small, lack luster and could definitely use some updating. There isn't much room to safely practice social distancing while dining in at this restaurant in my opinion. Nonetheless, the food more than makes up for any shortcomings this local join may have. It's a must try!

Pat M.

Yelp
My husband and I travel from ATL to Ringgold to visit family for all big holidays. Chatsworth, GA is about halfway for us. Twice, thanks to great Yelp! reviews, we have stopped at Ameer's Mediterranean Grill. I made a review of our first meal there previously. The latest time we had the chicken kabobs and a beef/lamb shawarma. Both were delicious. The service was pleasant and friendly. On the way out, I ordered the hummus (it is so fresh and so much better than grocery store hummus) and an order of the Lebanese salad. I paid for extra gyro bread to accompany the two appetizers. If you haven't tried the spice "Sumac," please do. I had some from Your DeKalb Farmer's Market and added it to both as we continued to enjoy the appetizers. We were the only diners in the restaurant at the time (around 1:30 pm on a Saturday). We enjoyed the hummus and Lebanese salad for several days afterward. I highly recommend this restaurant. The appetizers would be a great addition to a party/gathering of friends and family.

Pete C.

Yelp
Unbelievable flavor. Amazing food. Service accompanying our food made this experience even more memorable

Mohammad I.

Yelp
One of the best Halal food in Atlanta Giorgio is my second visit before I leave the other state thank you very much

Mervat V.

Yelp
I was in a bind and needed catered food fast. They were so nice and worked with me! Made great suggestions and delivered immediately for up to 15 people. The food was so delicious I know I'm going to crave it again soon. The garlic spread to die for!!! Yummmmmmm

Manar a.

Yelp
Ameer's Mediterranean Grill is hands down THE BEST Mediterranean food in the ATL! Everything on the menu is SUPER DELICIOUS!!! Very casual & friendly atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable. Outstanding customer service! The chef/owner always makes sure everyone is satisfied with their orders. I highly recommend everyone to try it out. I also recommend for you guys to try every single thing on the menu! I can't wait to go back!

Mar G.

Yelp
The food was great!! We had lentil soup and chicken shawarma sandwich. It was not to heavy and not to light. Somewhere in the middle. I loved it. Guy in charge was too stoic but I guess that's how all Middle Eastern are. But the food was delicious. I loved the environment.

Tracy B.

Yelp
Delish! Loved everything!! Falafel was amazing. Loved the Turkish salad...the Baba and Hummus super yummy. Just ordered a veggie platter tonight. But will DEF be bringing the husband back and ordering lots more. Hard to find good Middle Eastern here in ATL and Ameer's hit the spot!!

Alex S.

Yelp
This is a very good fast/casual middle eastern/Lebanese restaurant. You go here not for decor or service but good quality gyro, schwarma, salads, hummus, etc. Very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity.

Tari O.

Yelp
Yum! Love Ameer's Mediterranean Grill. I enjoyed a weekday lunch there recently. No reservations required, ample parking outside, walk in and order before seating. The restaurant serves veggie plates, gyros, and full meals with different protein options. I enjoyed the chicken platter which was a large serving. It comes with pita and a drink. The service was great and quality of food high. Meals ~$15.

Steven D.

Yelp
Having lived in Europe for several years I was introduced to Mediterranean food and fell in love with the spices and flavors. I traveled to Greece, Turkey, and several other countries in the Med. Ameer's has the authentic taste that I remember from my time in the region. If you haven't tried this cuisine you don't know what you are missing. You owe it to yourself to stop and check it out! Great service and fantastic food.

Syd K.

Yelp
Great food. Orders is always correct. And great price!! I've only ever ordered delivery.

Stacey W.

Yelp
I got the chicken kabobs dinner and it was very good.. Well seasoned (without being spicy/hot) and tender chicken made this a meal I'd like to repeat!

Mel M.

Yelp
Delicious fresh made to order. Will not be disappointed!!! I ordered the Chicken Shawarma sandwich with fries! It literally burst with flavor and the bread is fresh and melts in your mouth. Fries made fresh with order and seasoned to perfection

Matthew H.

Yelp
Excellent Mediterranean food we had combo 1 and combo 2 and they both were great it was so good we didn't have time to take pics but this place does it right we loved our lil Mediterranean diner in Lr Arkansas (Laylas) and this is giving us those same vibes we will certainly be back again

Amna C.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of eating the Ramadan Iftar buffet at Ameer's and it was a wonderful experience. The food was ready on time, served warm, and laid out in an orderly manner. There was a variety of dishes and each one was well seasoned and flavorful. The vegetables were very soft and the meats were tender. There was a mix of hot main dishes and cold salads/sides. The service was excellent for such a busy place! This meal was definitely worth the $30!

Imran P.

Yelp
Good food, fast service. Serving size is quite big. So order accordingly. Would go there again.

M K.

Yelp
Service was prompt, portion was a little small for price - almost $20 with tax for a vegetarian plate of salad with falafel - added $5 to menu price per hand lettered sign "add $3 to $5 due to rising costs." Baba ghanoush was excellent but tiny serving; hummus very fresh; cucumber salad and pickled turnip salad good; not sure what the barbecue hot mix was and unfortunately that was the biggest serving on the plate. Pita was fresh. Based on experience at other Mediterranean restaurants, should include one more falafel for the cost. I see someone posted a photo in prior year of the falafel plate, my portions weren't this big.

Adrianna F.

Yelp
I love this place! The food always tastes fresh and is always amazing! The service is phenomenal and they always get your food out fast! The restaurant is such a good and clean environment every-time I come in. I totally recommend eating here!!

Sarah J.

Yelp
you will thank me later for helping you discover this hidden gem. i get the chicken shawarma plate. more of a takeout spot than dine-in. it's VERY consistent

David W.

Yelp
First time here. Great Mediterranean restaurant. They really put a lot of effort into the flavor of their food. I had a chicken shawarma sandwich. It was huge. I liked the pickle and tomatoes on it. We ordered online and it was ready quickly. Great place A solid 4.5 Bellies

Miriam T.

Yelp
*FALSE ADVERTISING* There's no where on the description or picture that states the Chicken Kabob comes as a sandwich or even that it comes with fries. The frustration of calling the restaurant to address they're mistake and for them to say they cannot do anything about it is completely absurd! Needless to say this plate went straight to the trash. Take your money somewhere else.

Melody M.

Yelp
Love it!!! We go all the time. Never disappointed with the size and portions. Most of their menu is gluten free except for the pita. The owner or manager is very kind and remembers his reoccurring customers. All around good experience.

Alexis S.

Yelp
So good!! I can't say enough about the quality of the fattoush, the garlic sauce, the tzaziki, and the baba ganoush. I know good quality Mediterranean when I taste it. Also the customer service was amazing. The owner asked what I wanted and made it to order for me. The fattoush has a perfect balance of lemon and garlic, the BABA tastes so fresh and smoky! I will 100% be back!!! This is definitely worth a try and several more after!!

Sherry F.

Yelp
The food was very fresh, My 12yr son said this was the best burger he ever had. The first bite you get a crunch from the other edges and juicy and tender in the inside. A savory taste after eating it. The lentil soup was flavorful. The staff very pleasant, helpful with what certain items on the menu. Excellent customer service. Very causal setting. The dessert very interesting and different but good.
