I visited Amelie’s for the first time and was charmed by the Rock Hill location’s decor and ambiance. The pastries were delicious, and I also enjoyed my half spicy chicken salad and a cup of chicken pot pie soup. The meal was good but not outstanding. I imagine most people visit for the treats more so than the deli offerings, and I certainly enjoyed the sweets more! Service was excellent.

Google
Give this cafe a shot. They have many branches and I like this one too. Amazing desert options and a good variety too. Nice options to eat too for food. Overall a great experience and a must try the almond croissant which they might not have at all stores but if you do then please try it. Try latte options too. Overall an amazing place to hangout and have a conversation.

Google
Such a pretty place. Went here with family & loved the experience. Fun desserts & great food options. Great place to meet up w/ friends & wonderful decorations & atmosphere.

Google
What a delightful find! An unexpected treasure in an old, converted bank. The double dessert cases are full of beautiful creations- fresh fruit tarts, cakes, eclairs, and a large variety of macroons. My friend and I had not had lunch so opted for the tostines. Great choice! We shared 2 types- the bacon/fig/cheese (both savory and sweet) and the savory pesto/tomato/cheese. Both were delicious. We also had a chai and raspberry tea. There was ample seating both down and upstairs, WIFI and the atmosphere was perfect for our meeting!

Google
We love all Amelie’s in the Charlotte area. We’ve been to all four locations. Today’s visit to the Rock Hill did not disappoint. Our desserts were so yummy!

John H.

Google
I would recommend stopping here if you are looking for a desert and a coffee. All the deserts looked really good. I got what looked like a custard eclair. The pastry was light and fresh. The custard was delicious.

First time to the Rock Hill Main Street area. Nice place to hang out with cute little shops and old town atmosphere. Among several coffee shops we stopped at Amélie’s for a bite and a sweet treat. It was worthy. Appealing to young and not so young with areas to plug in and to relax. Food was despite the tomato bisque having too much pepper for my taste. Ah! But the desserts…. Worth dying for. I had to take some more to go. Not to be boomer, but someone should make sure that the silverware is 100% clean.

Google
What a delightful place! Quirky yet elegantly decorated. In an old bank. Unfortunately there is only 1 person to take your order and it seems like everyone in line had questions. The food came out pretty quick and was very good. The bacon was amazing. The dark roast is pretty strong. The strawberry something lemonade was really sweet. I’m really glad we don’t live closer as I would be here all the time trying all the pastries.

Yelp
J'adore le macaron du velvet rouge! The place has incredible ambience, with French Art plastered all around the place, the staff are kind and fast, and the delicacies are delicious. The macaron is very cool, with a nice cream filling between the macaron cookies (idk what they're called). Overall a 10/10 experience

Taylor B.

Yelp
All the workers are super nice and the place is always very clean! I always enjoy my pastries and coffee on their patio!

Yelp
I got 3 pastries, the employee was new but very nice. They really went for the French aesthetic.

Yelp
Oh delicious!! Came in for the sweets after brunch and couldn't resist. Fresh flakey pastries!

Yelp
We were in town for a college visit to Winthrop. I found this bakery on Yelp. We walked in and thought it was so cute! We ordered pastries and coffee. Everything was delicious!

Yelp
I went here a couple days ago and it was delicious! I've been to Amelie's a couple times now, but this was the first time I had visited in a while. It took me a couple minutes to decide because there are so many options! The atmosphere is great and gives off a nice cozy cafe vibe. They also have upstairs seating. I sat upstairs by the windows and it was a very nice view! I went with some family and I got the chocolate mousse cup with chocolate chips in it. It was delicious! I also tried their chocolate cake and cheese danish. Overall this was a very nice visit and I will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Came in during November, super busy shop with French atmosphere decor. Seating area downstairs and upstairs , clean bathrooms. Shop has a nice ambiance to go along with delectable baked goods minus the unfriendly staff. I asked some question about menu to two different staff members and they seemed to be annoyed so decided to not buy lunch there only dessert and coffee. The people in my group that bought hot chocolate complained it was watered down. My almond croissant was baked more than the normal toasty croissants this was over done.

Doug F.

Yelp
If you want top notch and high end service/ food, look no further. They have an amazing menu and selection. The decor and building are very neat and unique here with the old bank vibe
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Very yummy desserts and pastries! I really enjoy their quiche with a nice coffee for breakfast! Love the atmosphere and the upstairs sitting area is nice and quiet to get work done!

Yelp
Hate to do this ('cuz i used to LOVE Amelie's!), but at least at THIS location, it's gotten from bad to worse... On our most recent outing (about 2 weeks ago?), I was near repulsed while there...and here's why. For one, it happened to be crowded...yet they closed the upstairs floor (?!?)...so people were basically squeezed in downstairs (see picture). This tight space/setting did not make for a nice, relaxing ambiance...to say the least. Also, few chairs that were available downstairs were misplaced, and the tables were dirty (do the staff members ever bus these tables??). Despite their fun, kitschy decor, the place just looked really bad. Also, I know they're kind of going for that grungy look in a way, but the tables and chairs just look dilapidated. Most importantly, what happened to some of these bakery items?!? I usually get their fruity tarts...and they used to be quite good. Not anymore. The tarts were just super-sticky (cheap Snick Bars came to mind!), and even missing Kiwi...so just Strawberries and Blueberries on both large and small sizes. Then this Red Velvet Cheesecake...UGGGH!!! SO ridiculously thick and sticky...which equates to YUCKY for me! Also, just like last time, they can't even make Latte Art (and this is a coffee bar?!?)...let alone a nice, simple Latte without spilling gunk all over! Just look at my over-filled, artless Green Tea Latte...and tasted weak as well! Terrible!! Honestly, it was THE worst Amelie's experience I've had to date. This is supposedly an authentic French bakery...and I just expect better than this. I'm hoping that at least the other Amelie's locations are better...as in cleaner tables, and lighter-fluffier pastries. I mean, what's up with all the thickness-stickiness?? Based on this and previous experience, I feel that Amelie's have totally gone downhill...as in no quality control. I seriously wonder if I'll ever return to Amelie's...at least to this one.

Yelp
Cute decor and friendly service. We got a bunch of breakfast sandwiches and pastries to go. The bacon, egg and cheese biscuit was great - really flavorful, thin, crispy bacon and a nice flaky buttery biscuit - and the bite of almond croissant I tried was superb.

Daphne M.

Yelp
I came in search of a decent cup of java. I found it here at Amelie's in the form of a Cafe au Lait. It was absolutely delicious. I also had their signature chicken salad on a croissant, that too was delicious, moist and the serving size filled me up! I also bought a few pastries to bring home because it's almost impossible to leave without purchasing a few. The reason I didn't give a five star rating was because as I sat there enjoying my drink and food, I noticed a male employee entering a restroom wearing his apron and then exiting a few minutes later still wearing the apron. Perhaps, he took it off after he entered and put it back on when exiting but I was taught to hang up the apron before entering a restroom, citing sanitary reasons. Apart from that, the service was excellent.

Yelp
The desserts are delicious. The service is excellent and I absolutely love the incredible ambiance. The employees and baristas are so nice.

Yelp
We were told they were a chain; however, they were personal and friendly. This particular location is located inside of an old bank. They absolutely made the best of it with eclectic and trendy decor. Our pastry treats were absolutely delicious. I truly enjoyed my salted caramel mocha, and my wife raved about her coconut pistachio latte. Not sure if we'll be back as we were just visiting, but we certainly would like to try them again.

Steve F.

Yelp
Was mid afternoon, too late to get the good stuff at Mado, so I went to the lesser but ok Amelie's. Learned a second reason to not go. Staff decided to bypass people in line, for those who wandered in. At mado you will be served in the order you arrive, without playing a stupid, do you feel lucky punk, game.

Margaret C.

Yelp
The service was welcoming from one lady, I wish I got her name, she was behind the dessert display, took our orders and rang us up when a group four or so of young adults (possible high school age) behind the register all but ignored us. Her and about three people on the kitchen area were in the back working. The building is interesting and looked historical with outdoor seating. The vanilla late I had was good, then bacon egg and cheese biscuit was delicious but maybe a touch too buttery for some. The cinnamon roll looked good but it could use more cinnamon sugar, it was but too bready. Overall it was nice enough that we would give them a second try.

Yelp
Best ambiance ever! I absolutely love bakeries and this one didn't disappoint! The decor was fun to look at, the choices were plentiful and the employees were nice! I watched some other customers have their food brought to them, and each dish looked delicious. We were there just for a treat so we got a smorgasboard of different desserts. Some we decided to taste there, others we decided to bring home and share! It was the end of the day, so I was very surprised at how fresh each of our pastries tasted. We definitely will be coming back. Next time I will choose item like their French dip!

Amy S.

Yelp
I used it to love it here and I still think the view from the upstairs windows is absolutely beautiful. I do also love (not sarcastic) the creaking stairs as you walk up but I agree with other reviewers who feel everything is sticky and the furniture looks old and broken and not in a cool, antique way. Just a "we need to throw this out" way. I've always had a good experience ordering pastries. The staff isn't overly friendly but I get what I asked for and it is nicely boxed or plated. The coffee counter is a mess...slow, messy, seemingly annoyed, on their phones and you have to stand there while they make coffee or you will never know when it is ready. Even if they would just call out your name once, you could relax instead of hovering wondering if yours is next while the rest of your party is eating. There is zero flow. You could take the coffee order first and then get that made while you order the rest and pay. Then you have a chance at things being ready together. We skipped coffees today just because we didn't want to be annoyed. The bathrooms are clean. The pastries are good (try Mado - also in Rock Hill for amazing). I wish this place was better but it is just Ok.

Yelp
We had excellent and friendly service from Jeremy - thank you! He helped us pick out desserts which were fantastic. I've been here twice and both times with consistent service, food, and it's a great atmosphere!

Yelp
Remodeled bank. Quaint interior with seating on entry level and upstairs. Nice array of sandwiches. Although not very large, the sandwiches are tasty. We tried 4 and a dessert which was delicious. Large display case of desserts. Definitely worth a visit.

Kelyn M.

Yelp
I ate the best Europe sweets in SC and the coffee was delicious. The workers are very nice. The only bad thing is the parking, they don't have a place, so we spent 15 minutes to find a parking spot.
google avatar

Sarina P.

Yelp
Great coffee and great food. My favorite menu item is the chicken salad croissant, mainly because of how good the croissant is! My husband loves the chicken pesto on ciabatta. It's also in the perfect location for a stroll down Main Street and by Fountain Park. I am a return customer for the Cafe Marcotter iced coffee as well!
google avatar

Marcia C.

Yelp
More meh food in rock hill. Chicken salad sandwich was fine but had too many cranberries. Croissant was fine. Wasn't a fan of the caramel torte and I normally love salted caramel. Something was off with it. Decided to try out a marcotter and did not enjoy this either. Practically water with caramel in it, not much espresso. Disappointing. Ambiance is lovely at least and staff seemed very nice. I'd be willing to try it out again next time I'm passing through town.

Yelp
This used to be a star in downtown rock Hill now it has become very subpar. There's always something out and they don't seem to prepare enough ahead for a large number of guest. We had guest in town and wanted to take them to a great place for coffee, dessert and like snacks. Need to say I was very embarrassed by the location that we had been bragging to them about . It took me three days to get some crème brûlée and then the one craving that we had on a cold rainy day was the chicken pot pie soup however at 3 PM they were totally out to cause more harm to injury the girl at the register suggested we come back because it's being made. We were here now ready to eat now while we leave go back out in the rain to come back out just to get the soup it's good, but not that great. The star of downtown is fallen. I doubt we will be back.

Yelp
Great cafe with tons of different desserts, breakfast options, and lunch options. Lots of different specialty cafe drinks. Very nice inside. Overall great place to get coffee and some pastries. Would love to go back and try move things next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Amelie's has delicious coffee and sandwiches. I love that I can go there and get work done too as they have plenty of outlets and seats upstairs. The atmosphere is as great as their service also.

Yelp
macaroon? More like macaSWOON If you're a broke girly and can't afford a trip to France, don't fret it. You'll find love at first sight when you walk into Amalies and see the bakery counters full of goodies! Who needs a man when you have have Amelie. This is a magical land of macaroons and petit tarts, a flavor for all palettes! My sister, my bestie, and I walked in "oh let's get a little treat!" Did we walk out with two giant boxes of delicate French treats? Yes. Yes we did. A dozen macaroons and we sampled everyone. I cannot emphasize this enough: I would sell my soul for a lavender lemon macaroon from Amalie's. ALSO what really made the experience was the staff and the *vibes* The patronage and servers were very inclusive and helpful and patient with our squeals of admiration and indecision for all the beautiful food here. Stop thinking about going and just GO TO AMELIES. Order the French silk tart and the lemon lavender macaroon. You will finally be able to die happy
google avatar

Britanny T.

Yelp
The customer service is atrocious. It really doesn't matter how good your pastries taste if your customer service is going to be so absolutely terrible. As far as the food of course is absolutely wonderful because it comes from North Davison location in Charlotte and that place is a dream I used to go there every single day so I wanted a new replacement and this is not it.
google avatar

Cyndi S.

Yelp
Don't come here if you are avoiding artificial food dyes. They only use artificial food dyes.
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
This is the third location I've visited. I've been to the flagship location in NoDa. This place is great for Rock Hill, it's in the heart of downtown and is a great option for coffee and pastries. The space is not impressive. It feels like a pawnshop or an old general store. It could be so much more. The beverage and food selection is good. I had a mixed berry pastrie and an Americano which was just OK The staff is great and professional.. You will be challenged to find street parking.
google avatar

Jesus S.

Yelp
We visited the NC location. D liked it so much we visited the SC location. The food and coffee didn't disappoint. The service was great, the food was delicious and the devour once again was amazing. The old safe in front of the freezer was so cool. Looks like Amelia's will be on our stop when we're coming back to the areas.

Deb M.

Yelp
I've always had a great experience until today. Ann, who we've never seen at this location, seemed irritated that my daughter and I needed to order coffee and matcha. I always enjoy coming to this location but today I've second guessed returning.
google avatar

Della L.

Yelp
If you're ever in rock Hill please go to this bakery! It's located downtown rock Hill and everything about it is amazing! We clearly went overboard with our pastry order but it was so worth it everything was so delicious. I also got an iced coffee and my partner got a Crim Brulé French soda which was absolutely divine! The staff was very friendly and the eclectic design of the shop will take your breath away! I will definitely be visiting this bakery again! It goes in the book as one of my all-time favorites!
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
The food, the pastries, and the beverages are amazing here. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. They have a cute, avant- Garde vibe. The staff is mostly nice, occasionally bristly but the trip is worth it
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
I sort of expected more bakery item, or variety. However, I purchased 4 items, they all looked great. The person behind the counter was super friendly, and helpful. I plan to go back and try the food they serve. The place looked clean, and the atmosphere was nice.
google avatar

Linh An L.

Yelp
Great French bakery! Great service and the heartwarming atmosphere is amazing! I will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Karlene B.

Yelp
chicken cranberry pecan on a croissant and fruit cup with coffee and petite desserts for a light lunch definitely worth the stop
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
Great lunch and friendly service. Really like this place. I will be back here again. Oh. And sinful pastries galore. ......................................................
google avatar

Yelp
My very first time having macarons was in Paris. I literally felt like these were from France! The food menu looks delicious, I'm coming back to dine in. Service is quick and staff is pleasant. Atmosphere is super cute and Parisian love the replica gate with the locks.

Yelp
If there were a way to submit a 0-star review that's what this place would have gotten! I'm outraged in a way that words cannot even describe! I ordered 2 sandwiches and a cup of soup with each sandwiches (the counter person recommended me get the cup of soup as a side for the sandwich so I didn't pay an exorbitant price for the soup). One sandwich had 2 thin deli slices of roast beef and half a piece of cheese for the whole 6 inch sandwich. I've had subway sandwiches with more meat and toppings for 8 bucks. The 2nd sandwich had about 2 ounces of chicken breast for which there was a 3 dollar up charge for choosing chicken (I'm not kidding you when I say there wasn't even 3 dollars worth of chicken in the whole damn sandwich). There was a cup of broccoli soup that was RANCID! Yes RANCID!! The soup tasted like bad peanut butter. I can't make this sh*t up. The 2nd soup was not soup at all. It was a cup with fire roasted diced tomatoes (hotter than all hell). Both of these meals were almost inedible but definitely sandwiches for a 5 year old. Those 2 Sandwiches with inedible soups were 40 dollars! (FORTY DOLLARS)! I added two desserts that were another 12 bucks, thank god I wouldn't have had dinner at all. Oh except the desserts tasted freezer burnt. 52 bucks total for this slop! Never fu*king again. I'm so mad right now I could bring it back and throw it in the floor! HORRIBLE! I guess I'll make the sandwich at home that should've been made for the 52 dollars I spent! You all should be ashamed of yourselves for serving this! No wonder shops in this little town are closing down. You cannot treat customers like this serving food like this and expect to stay in business!
google avatar

Abigail C.

Yelp
I love this place. We try to stop in to one of the locations whenever we're in the area. I love coming for lunch and taking a box of pastries home.

Yelp
Great breakfast sandwich and baked treats! The coffee is always super fresh and light without being too sweet!

Yelp
Meandered to downtown Rock Hill for a treat for the kids (and myself!). I particularly wanted to try their seasonal items. Upon entering you are met with a sweet smell that can only put a nostalgic smile on your face. The lady behind the counter was extremely patient as well as helpful and knowledgeable as we decided on our fare. I liked the bright, large case so that we could see what we wanted to get. The seasonal items also marked wig Blue description rather than white which helped me find them easily. We decided on the chocolate raspberry torte, mini pumpkin pie tart, sweet potato layered bar (as delicious as beautiful!), and the s'mores eclair. All were delicious and we were able to enjoy outside and watch the antics of downtown Rock Hill and view the changing trees. Cannot wait to return: with kids, myself, on a date, etc Bob appetite y'all!

Yelp
Came here a few years ago but didn't leave a review then. This time I got a beautiful salad with a blueberry vinaigrette and added chicken..... it was delicious!!!! So filling!!!! I never got his name but the guy that took our order was very nice as we interacted with other employees there who were also incredibly kind. The restaurant is very cute with blue color scheme and a historical and abstract theme it's very cute! Definitely give this place a try because I know my mother and I will be returning.

Yelp
Reviewed said, "Best Roast Beef Ever" NOT true! I paid $9.50 for a small sandwich with two slices of processed roast beef that had a shiny film liked we got served back in grade school, didn't include a side AND the meat was cold. I expected so much more. Left hungry and irritated. My wife hated the roast beef as well, she only ate 1/4 of her sandwich. She enjoyed her $3 side of beef stroganoff soup. My daughter came out the winner with the Chicken Pesto sandwich and hot chocolate. Ordering better, I could have been happy. A disappointing $60 lunch for three.
google avatar

Samantha T.

Yelp
Very importantly, the service was great. The lady who helped us was attentive and helpful. If it weren't for the service Amelie's would be getting 1 star. Unfortunately, the coffee was bad, watered down and lackluster. The macarons, which we were really looking forward to trying, looked great in the case. Once we opened the box we realized the cookies themselves are dull and dense, not light, airy, and shiny as macarons are supposed to be. The fillings are all overly sweet. I can't speak to any other of the baked goods but the macarons are overpriced and very disappointing.
google avatar

Ana H.

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious. MUST TRY. I promise if you want desserts this is a place you must come to. We went to Rock Hill specifically to come here and were not disappointed after the 1 1/2 drive. If anything we came back a few more times throughout the year! My favorite is the macarons and the chocolate mousse cups. We have gotten a few drinks before but haven't tried the food before like the sandwiches. The staff is always so so kind and helpful. especially when we ask for the flavors of the macarons as they don't have them labeled. Don't be afraid to ask because they are so helpful. Everything looks delicious but I'm not an expert in pastries so I do ask what is this etc! The place itself is so so decorative and very unique. Overall amazing place.
google avatar

Nicoel I.

Yelp
Amazing pastries, sandwiches and coffee! I ordered a lemon bar, cappuccino, and chicken salad sandwich and everything was so fresh and delicious. Prices are high, but worth it 100%. And its in cute DT Rock Hill.

Yelp
Originally I had been to this location way before COVID, and loved the inside space so much. It (was) a great spot to hang out with some friends and have such yummy desserts. Right now, it is only open for to go orders, but we still love coming here to support them, and we still love their food. I look forward to when things can go back to being able to hang out there (but I understand). We love this place!
