The 11 Best Restaurants In Walla Walla

"The best pizza in Walla Walla isn’t in Walla Walla at all, but rather a half-hour drive away in Waitsburg—a town whose thoroughfare is approximately two blocks long. American 35 excels at chewy, blistered Neapolitan pies that compete with the ones back in Seattle, and you’ll see topping combinations like sausage and spicy peppers, or pecorino romano with red onion, rosemary, and crushed pistachio. If you’re doing Waitsburg the correct way, you'll share hot honey-drizzled cup and char pepperoni slices with friends alongside a round of cocktails." - aimee rizzo

American 35 - Review - Waitsburg - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The best pizza in Walla Walla isn’t in Walla Walla at all, but rather a half-hour drive away in Waitsburg—a town whose thoroughfare is approximately two blocks long. American 35 excels at chewy, blistered Neapolitan pies that compete with the ones back in Seattle, and you’ll see topping combinations like sausage and spicy peppers, or pecorino romano with red onion, rosemary, and crushed pistachio. (That one’s an homage to Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix.) If you’re doing Waitsburg the correct way, the evening will start by sharing hot honey-drizzled cup and char pepperoni slices with friends as a prelude to dinner at Bar Bacetto across the street." - Aimee Rizzo

I had a fantastic experience at American 35 while visiting the area for work. Now, let’s talk about the food—everything I tried was amazing, but the pizza was the real standout. Each slice was perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings that left me wanting more. It's definitely one of the best pizzas I've had!

Wow this place is such a gem - amazing pizza, super fresh salads and veggie dishes. You would not expect food of this quality in the middle of nowhere, but I would drive from Walla Walla any day to enjoy dinner at American 35. The pizza is UNREAL!

Was craving a good brick oven pizza and decided to go to Waitsburg and check this place out after looking it up on Google maps. Got there and the place was empty and it looked like it had just been remodeled, very nicely I might add. Ordered a craft your own pizza with pepperoni, onions and bacon. Shortly after the place filled up quick and the waitress Lisa was super busy, however she did an excellent job with a great attitude.. the pizza was very good however it would have been 5 stars if it would have been Canadian Bacon but they don't offer that topping. Had the Basque Cheesecake for dessert and it was really good as well but could have been 5 stars if it had Carmel drizzled on it. I would definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out for yourself sometime.. I will be back to try some of the other things on the menu..

This place is great! So excited to have this gem here in Waitsburg. The food was excellent and the service is wonderful! We had the warmed olives and the Mama Lil’s pizza. I’m not usually a fan of olives but would definitely order again. As for the Mama Lil’s pizza, this is quickly becoming my go-to for this place! Just the right amount of spice and packed full of flavor. I love the atmosphere here, and the owner makes you feel like a friend when he speaks to you. We’ll definitely be back!

My daughter and I went out to dinner and enjoyed the Chicken Rosemary Garlic Pizza and Potato Fingerlings. It was refreshing to eat somewhere where everything was fresh. Even the in-house Rhubarb fruit soda was tasty! Large space, great atmosphere and live shows at 7 pm. (We didn't stay for that part) but I will definitely be going back again. Who knew this treasure was hiding in plain sight.

Google
DELICIOUS. Such an awesome new addition to Waitsburg. Bloody marys and beer were so good, and the pizza is DIVINE. Gluten free crust is as good as regular which took this pizza place to the next level. Every ingredient used is done so with care and you can taste how fresh everything is. The atmosphere is the perfect blend of small town cozy and modern. I love the local Mary mix and how much time was put into making sure this place supports other local businesses. You should definitely make this place a regular stop. Vanessa gave us great service.

Butternut squash, sausage, goat cheese, sage, and a few other touches (Pizza) for an amazing flavor combo. This is a must try!

I went there for Valentine’s Day and it was my first time ever there and I enjoyed it, I had been wanting to try it all the way from Texas, and so when I was here in walla walla I decided to try it and I’m glad I finally got to try their food it was so amazing. One thing I’m disappointed about it all though is that it was my first and last time ever getting to eat here. And my server Allison was super friendly, really nice, and gave me some pretty good advice. Overall if you’re ever in the neighborhood or town or close by Waitsburg you should go try it out! You won’t be disappointed!!

Yelp
We were here on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. , our food arrived quick and was amazing. Lisa was our waitress and she seemed to be helping everyone. Love her!!! We are from Phoenix and I wish there was a place with Pizza this good. The ambiance was cool and loved the design and artwork. This whole place is amazing. Best pizza we have ever had. Beet salad was wonderful and I would definitely recommend. Worth the drive from Walla Walla.

Yelp
If you are in the walla walla area take the time to drive the 12 Highway to Waitsburg. Not only will you see some of the most beautiful land in Washington state, you can have an astounding meal at American 35. From their appetizers (steak bites, mezza plate, smashed potato fingerlings to name a few) to the salads, shared plates and gourmet pizzas. Every dish is carefully prepared and delicious. Highly recommend the pizza specials as they are unique in every way; the cauliflower crust is the best we've had. Cocktails are inspired, tiramisu was rich, creamy and boozy, and trust me when I say, order the gochujang carrots. What a delightful spot and so worth the trip.

Yelp
We had a great lunch here. I do love this thin crisp cust style of pizza. I saw another reviewer that did not, so you ought to know that going in. Service was great, atmosphere is fun. I had the chef's special salad (Kale and pistachio) which was so good I am going to try and make it at home. I also had the chef's special pizza which I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks American 35 for a wonderful visit. If I lived closer, I would come all the time.

Yelp
Went for an event, quite a large place and layout. The waitress took quite a while to help us, and we tried a couple different pizzas, and app. The tots were disappointing, very little portion with a dab of pepper sauce on them. For 9$ I expected more. We tried the fig rosemary garlic pizza, which sounded good. It was so dry, pretty small portion for 18dollars, I was beyond disappointed. Also tried the hot honey pizza for 22 bucks. Again, very hard and dry. I am still trying to forget the texture. It was so over cooked. We ordered drinks and my order was wrong, and so was my friend's order. I was charged wrong on my ticket, and had to track down the waitress since she was busy. She fixed it, but I still didn't find anything worth liking. Very sad, all around, very pricey for what you get without feeling satisfied and I hope they improve, for a small town needs good dining choices.

Yelp
Seriously the best pizza we've had on the west coast. Amazing food and service. Fun pool table and bar in the back The hot honey pizza and crème brûlée can't be missed!

Yelp
I really want them to do well, I like to support small town local places. I can honestly say, I wasn't alone in my review of the pizza. There were 8 of us, some had been there before, & go for drinks. I would hands down give the pizza 1 star, for tasting like a piece of hard cardboard. It was a white pie, and literally had NO 'white.' It was dry and hard to chew. Thankfully we had a side of marinara, but that was like dipping cardboard..sorry but that's the best I can describe it. I thought I was alone, but we all decided how we just paid $18 for a sprinkle of dry toppings..(Mushrooms & bacon). The waitress may have been new, she never really checked on us. When she did, we requested more sauce, but that never happened. The other party had tater tots that were a small bowl of tots with pepper sauce for $9. No fancy plating of tots. They were edible but boring. The other couple had a fig pizza before and said the topping was lacking & the crust was hard. I'm sad. I think we'll only go for drinks at this point if we return. There are too many really good pizza places to claim a good pie, and I'm sorry, this was absolutely not one of them. I've had my share of real Italian pies, and local, and well...you get it. FYI, with those prices, please make a pizza that has sauce, not skimpy on the toppings, and memorable..just not a bad memory.

Yelp
Really innovative drinks, crispy pizza with high-quality ingredients, funky, atmosphere, charming service, and a free jukebox. Highly recommended if you find yourself in Waitsburg.

Yelp
Go check out this great spot for pizza and drinks. It's a charming space with friendly service and delicious food. We had the hummus platter and tried a couple different pizzas. Would definitely recommend the fig pizza! I'm looking forward to going back on a night when they're having live music or events.

Yelp
Exploring the town and stopped in for a drink and snack. The bartender suggested a smoked old fashion and blood Mary (their own mix- I suggest the smoked onion) - both were excellent. We also got their mezze plate which was very good. We finished with a fig pizza which was very good. This place has a great pizza oven and free plays on the jutebox. Highly recommend if you are in town!!

Yelp
The absolute best pizza in the Walla Walla valley! It is worth the trip to Waitsburg just for the pizza...especially the rosemary, fig and roasted garlic pizza. AMAZING!

Sara A.

Yelp
Really outstanding food and vibe. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, and watching them hand toss pizza crusts adds to the charm.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area plus a full bar and good local wine. So good! We'll be back for sure! Thank you Judy!
