Service is always good here and the food is pretty good. Loved their French toast, and they have French vanilla coffee creamer for your coffee which is always a plus in my book.

Same owner for 23 years and same staff for nearly as long. At least for the most part, not really but they have been for a long time. This place is great and always has been. Country fried steak is always on point and and the patty melt is always good as well. These last few reviews are a bit suspect. Not true at all. American Cafe is the best Cafe around and there long history should solidify that.

Just a nice hole-in-the-wall neighborhood breakfast joint. Everyone is kind and it feels very home like.

Great service, even better food. The biscuits were perfect. The French toast tasted like Paris, and the coffee is always hot and ready, like my 2nd wife was with the neighbor.

Stopped in with my daughter for a quick bite... good food and service. Average prices for area.

I came here on a Friday around 9:30 and the place was empty but by the time I left there were about 8 tables occupied. Half the people that came in the waiter asked if they wanted their normal order. Clear indication it is a local favorite. I had the county fried steak with grits and sunny side up eggs. The dish was overall pretty good, the steak was cooked perfectly and the grits were not runny. The waiter was very attentive and refilled my coffee and water. I'm definitely coming back.

Used to be great a year ago. Different owners/staff. Service was non-existent. Got our own menus and water. Waited 20 minutes. Food was not good! Not cooked to order and bland. Waitress NEVER checked on us. Coffee was watered down, WAWA coffee is better. Place was empty on a Sunday, should have read the room. NEVER AGAIN. Will pass this info to the area. Shame.

If you have not yet wondered into this little place randomly yet, or just waiting for someone to recommend going.. this is it! Skip Denny's over priced small serving, half hearted made food. Just behind it is American Cafe.. the breakfast options and price you can't beat. The speed and friendly service is top notch! You must give this place a try especially if you like a good cheap breakfast. They even have a Spanish menu with authentic dishes!
