The Best 24-Hour Restaurants in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"This Michigan-born restaurant with a storied history brings its classic Detroit staples to the heart of Las Vegas. At American Coney Island, find classic coney dogs slathered with chili, yellow mustard, and diced onions; “loose burgers” given the same coney dog chili/mustard/onion treatment; gyros with diner’s choice of meat and tzatziki in a steamed pita, piled-high chili fries, and fountain drinks." - Janna Karel

Find Hot Dogs in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"The 24-hour American Coney Island brings a taste of Detroit to the D Las Vegas. The restaurant, an icon in Detroit for nearly a century, brings seasoned, natural-casing Dearborn sausage brand hot dog topped with the Keros family secret recipe Coney Island chili sauce, mustard, and sweet chopped onions, all served in a warm steamed bun. Bonus: it’s open 24 hours and hotdogs are start around $5." - Janna Karel

After a few drinks and losses at the slots, Coney hits the spot. A cool diner vibe with tasty dogs and gyros. We only tried those 2 items but they were very tasty. I wish the dog was bigger but I guess that’s how they come. $20 for the both and a bottled water. It’s one of those places that you want to hit up later in the evening for a quick guilty pleasure snack, then go just outside the door and brave the Fremont Street Experience if you dare.

Morgan Colyer

Google
Located on Fremont street attached to The D, this iconic Detroit restaurant is open 24 hrs. Serving up their famous chili and dogs. The food is made fresh and the taste is delicious.

Tommy Andrew

Google
Open 24/7, if you’re downtown Vegas - put American Coney Island on your food destination list! Pictured are the Detroit dogs I scarfed down, they were fantastic!!

Shitbag Heman

Google
Fire and good prices I got 4 dogs cheese fries and chili fries. 30 bones. Not bad for Vegas and like Fremont in general better values than most places plus 24/7.

Santiago

Google
Had a chili dog and fries. It was ok. The chili wasn't bad, just not what I'm used to. Quick bite while walking around the area. Staff was friendly. The restaurant is small and could have used a nice wiped down.

Google
Spent $18 on 2 coney dogs and one French fry, was expecting the famous Coney flavor and nope! Just buy Hornel chile, Nathan’s hot dogs cut some onions. Better flavor for 10 bucks. Very disappointed

Nessa

Google
Went here for the first time and for $6.45 I got the American Special and it was a good. If you’re looking for something filling and on a budget this is worth it. Also I recommend getting the gyros wrap as well.

Google
Don't usually opt for hot dogs, but it started to monsoon while walking Fremont, this was close, and chili dog sounded good. Totally worth it. Bun warm and soft, hot dog tastes great and has the pop as you bite it, and chili is flavorful. Employees were suuuper nice. All around good stuff on Fremont. Didn't realize how much I'd like it until it was in my face hole.

Yelp
Just needed a quick snack and on the go. Saw this place on Freemont Street at the "D." Hot dogs. Open 24/7 and has some air condition seating tables in side to get out of the 110-degree heat at 10 am. Hot dog, want can go wrong!! I ordered the original because I had never had this type of hot dog before. Hot dog with that snappy skin in a bun, covered with chili, a squit of mustard and topped with onions. Added an order of fries and diet coke. It was one of the few places I found Diet coke. Nerve been to Coney Island, but it looks like it on the inside with photos, stars, and strips all over. Nothing fancy, no bells and whisles. Just a good place to grab a good chili dog, fries, a drink, and go or rest awhile. Pros: Grab and go or sit awhile. Love a hot dog with a snap to it. Order of fries is large, so I hope you have someone to share with. They will offer knife and fork to eat your chili dog or man handle that chili dog. Cons: The chili is nothing to write home about, but it works. There is no salt on the fries, so ask for salt. Would I come back? Yes. Will have to order with cheese on top and extra onions. Love them onions with my chili. Good eats.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years. On today's trip there was a man with fungus all under his fingernails. He was handling the food without gloves. This man also appeared to be pretending to be a woman talking in a fake woman voice. He was crying apparently a customer said something to him not only about pretending to be a woman but also about handling the food with fungus fingers and no gloves. I won't go here again since they don't follow basic food safety.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I used a food credit to eat here. My review will still be impartial. But in the interest of transparency still wanted to let everyone know. All that being said. This place is wonderful! It's no frills simple food. Probably one of the best values on the strip if you're looking for something cheap and quick to get. The service inside was amazing. The person working the cash register was super friendly. Helped me out with getting the transaction done for my food credit and was really knowledgeable about that. And the food was great! It wasn't five star gourmet but it worked. I got the gyro and the All-American Coney dog. And it was wonderful. The atmosphere inside was clean and honestly recommend if you're on Fremont Street stop in. Get yourself a hot dog!

Yelp
Great option for those looking for a quick bite on Fremont Street. First time here, and we had a good experience. Restaurant next door to the 'D' Casino. Brought back childhood memories of fairs and carnival foods type of vibe. Let's dive into the food Cheese fries::: SO GOOD! it's all about the cheese in this dish! Smooth, creamy and plenty! on a bed of crunchy fries. Chili Cheese dog::: Fantastic! Not sure if it's because we were hungry. But, it hit the spot. This place has burgers and gyros too. Probably check out next time. The staff was friendly and helpful! Thank you for a good experience!

Yelp
So I gave a recent review about coney island and it comes to my attention from my bank that my card was used several times, I never use door dash! I hardly ever use my card for that matter because of fraudulent situa like this. Coney Islands employees are trash, they already over charged me and added their own tip. I want my $ bk in my card or I will move forward with a police report.

Yelp
So I had just flew in from LA on a late Thursday night and I was hungry but my hotel didn't have much option open, I went down Fremont st and found this place. The aroma of chili and cheese smell'd great and it was open 24 hours. I got the Coney Island hot dog with extra onion and mustard along with some chili cheese fries. The combo was delicious and full of flavor. This definitely filled my craving and my stomach.
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
I came to this place during my visit to Vegas on summer of 2024, I had the chili dog with fries and the food was great. The place is very small so it's not ideal for group gatherings, but if it is only you and a couple of people this is a great spot to get a great chilli dog or chilli fries.
google avatar

Bethany T.

Yelp
Fremont fast food. Great for "on the go food" when you're hungry. I've heard about it for years, and i was a smidge disappointment. I got a gyro, and it had a lot of sauce on it, and the meat was in these over cooked strips. Maybe it was an off day for them.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
An extra star for being open 24 hours! The snap when u bite into the hot dog is oddly satisfying. The Coney dog comes with chili, mustard and onions - add cheese for $1. Fast and friendly. My order was ready by the time I finished paying. Have a seat inside or take it with you.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Cool place with hot dogs, chili, and Coke products soda. A few tables inside. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Rodney G.

Yelp
I found this Coney Island restaurant located on the Freemont St. It wasn't busy on a Sunday evening. I ordered 4 Coney Island chili dogs and a chili fry. The chili dogs tasted delicious. The chili fries were just okay. The customer service was okay. Would I come here again? Maybe not. Weinersnitzel is about as good as this & and a lot cheaper. I spent about $42.00, and at weinersnitzel, it would have been half that price. I overall give this place 3 stars .

Yelp
Visited 2/23/2023 This is a excellent quick little place to grab a great Chili Dog and some very tasty fries. Accessible from Fremont Street Experience or inside The D Casino. Service was quick and food was very good. Will definitely stop by again and they are open 24 Hours. Give it a try.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is putting out some good coney dogs.; if you're in the mood for a coney dog. And I (didn't) get one, but there were plenty of people getting the gyros....so much so.....they have to be good too. Ans chili fries; they were selling like hot cakes ! The coney: Not too bad and I enjoyed it. The dog cooked on a flat top...has that major casing snap! The dog tasted pretty good and what you'd expect from a good hot dog stand. The coney sauce....is a chili based sauce that is thin and messy a touch.....but with the mustard stripe and the onion....they worked well together. This place is small and can look like you'll never get to order. But first off, the staff was fast and they get your food quickly. Hats off to the people that work here....they were some really good folks!
google avatar

Collin C.

Yelp
Cool place if you're missing the midwest coneys. I'm from Cincinnati and recently moved here to Las Vegas and havnt had anything close to compare to Cincinnati chili like Skyline. But I'll say Coney Island gave me a warm nice welcome with hospitality, ambience and quick food service. As the sober DD of the night I left the club early in search of a snack at 4am, and this hit the spot. Small place but that's what makes it feel good to run in and out.
google avatar

Anthony P.

Yelp
Vegas Baby! Fremont street was vining and was craving something tasty! I saw Coney Island dogs and immediately gravitated to the place. This is a Detroit, MI place but they had a spot here in Vegas. It was fresh, hot and had all the fixings on it. Chili cheese dog with mustard and onions. The only way you should have it! It was cheap and super tasty! The ladies inside behind the counter have a system and very efficient! This is a small spot and the line can get long but the ladies get you in and out with there super fast system! Loved it and affordable! Definitely be back when I am in Vegas!
google avatar

Lou M.

Yelp
I mean.... I was ok. I got the American chili dog and meat... or something like that. It was ok but forgettable honestly. I guess good if you're drunk as hell roaming Fremont Street but I wasn't impressed too much. Should have got White Castle. Haha. Company was good though.
google avatar

Crazy Bernie S.

Yelp
Being a chili dog connoisseur I was doubtful as I stood in the long line tonight. My buddy Carl ordered it up and since the tables were all taken we took the dogs up to the room. Let me tell you the chili dogs here are world class! Chili fries excellent too!
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Barely okay and is cramp when people are hungry. Go to White Castle or walk a bit further. The chili is trash (50%+ soy texture protein). Vienna sausage taste like meat compared to their chili. Mustard, onion, relish, nor sauerkraut is offered wtf lol fr why : ( Chili cheese fries are standard, chili meat is just...zzz Fries - flavorless with no grab. Cheese isn't bad but everything feels flat; it's about feeling full and not tasting flavors. For a food place? Mehh. The decor is better than the food. I will say tho: a crispy hot dog casing while traveling Fremont Ave? I'd go again if I'm too hungry. Order the dog bun sans chili.
google avatar

Kristin C.

Yelp
Quick stop for a snack at ACI. Always a crowd but the line moves super fast. They forgot the cheese on my chili dog, and not enough chili. This place isn't very clean, but can't expect them to keep up its super busy. I appreciate that there are some tables to sit and enjoy my meal. ACI Is located right outside the D.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Uhm if you haven't been here and you don't mind a dirty water dog-this is the place to go. I call it the drunk spot but the hotdogs here fully loaded are delicious also get their cheese fries! I come here a few times every time I'm in town which is once every couple of months! This photo doesn't do justice it's a sloppy delicious mess of goodness and I promise it doesn't disappoint!
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick late dinner and the BF suggested this place because we had seen it before. Plus doesn't love a chilli cheese dog?! We ordered 2 Coney Island chilli dogs and regular fries. I had read a bunch of reviews so I didn't expect much. Well, as expected it had no flavor and like the other reviews it was very bland. I would had added salt to it but we didn't have any given we were in our hotel eating this. We probably won't be going back here but had to try it for ourselves. The staff was very nice and the cashier was polite so 3 stars to just that. The location is in the Fremont experience the restaurant is small limited seating. Try it for yourself at least 1x or save your money go elsewhere.
google avatar

Kien H.

Yelp
So I'm from Detroit, so we take coney Island really seriously. You'll come in and the service is good because the line moves really fast. It may look like a lot but the hot dogs are already done so you don't have to wait for them to cook the food from scratch so that definitely helps. The shop is really small, but that's not a big deal, because it's just basically a carry out spot. People only sit to eat for a couple of minutes I assume. But at the same breath, there is a places to eat if you absolutely need it too. The place is 24 hours so you can always come in whenever you're between your bar hopping. So just keep that in mind. Ended up getting a couple of coneys, wasn't really feel like going in like I could have, but in the same time, I do miss a little bit of home since Georgia doesn't have Coney Islands lol. The Coney Islands were good commented Chili was hot, the onions were fresh, I have no complaints. They put the shredded cheese on the bottom of it. If you're from Detroit or from the Midwest, you would get it. There was somebody in the restaurant that was complaining about something being called Coney Island when it's not from New York. Had to kind of explain the fact that the place Coney Island in New York and the food establishment Coney Island got two separate things. So if you're expecting something from New York, this is not the place! Otherwise, enjoy.

Yelp
Went to Vegas for wife's bday We decided to get some burgers and hot dogs. Went in person to order Cool little spot and smelled delicious ordered a chili dog and chili burger with a cup of chili We literally ordered and 30 seconds later it was done. This part was my fault I should have checked the bag but I didn't /: got to my room opened the bag and was missing my burger chili burger they gave us an extra hot dog Instead. And when I took a bite there was not hot dog in It lol My wife got one and hers had a hot dog in it ! Fast service be sure to check your bags !
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
I love stopping in here, just as a local. It's hard finding real coney dogs, extra mustard and light onions! The employees are fun, and eager to help make sure your satisfied. The coney dog always has that wonderful same taste.

Almas A.

Yelp
Coney Dog is basic. The chili cheese fries basic. Regular. Nothing special. Sustenance or sure. And cheap af
google avatar

Yelp
Went on a quick little lunch date here, it was cute because the girl I went with did not know that gyros are a popular Greek food that you can get, like, at many places. She thought they were a special thing on Fremont at this hole-in-the-wall. On the walk there, with overwhelming enthusiasm, she was describing the tzatziki sauce - telling me that I would have my mind blown. I kept my mouth shut and will let her remain oblivious. However, American Coney Island killed it. Perfect sauce to lamb ratio, the onions were fresh and no ingredient overwhelmed it's place - making for a perfect gyro. Professional, friendly and quick service.

Moises R.

Yelp
I always get greeted by the workers as soon as I walk in. The food is always hot and is served to my liking! I love how much better the place looks after the remodel. I definitely recommend trying this place if you haven't already!
google avatar

Margaret P.

Yelp
Grabbed some hot dogs here since we were staying at The D. Hot dogs will run you about $5. There is a snap to them, so the quality of the dog itself is good. They also gyros and chili cheese fries. We definitely dabbled in all of them. To be honest though, this hot dog spot isn't a make it or break it deal for me on Fremont street. However, if you're looking for something quick and cheap to eat to help you sober up, it's not a bad option!
google avatar

Harold S.

Yelp
I stopped in here for a quick lunch while visiting Fremont St and ordered the gyro. The place was clean and decent inside and the staff was attentive, but I did not enjoy the gyro as the pita they used to make it was stale. Also, the tzatziki that was topped over the meat did not have the consistency I would normally expect. It was more like a creamy sauce, and I could not see any cucumbers inside.
google avatar

Sue S.

Yelp
Always a stop when we come to LasVegas. They are incredible!!! Get them with everything!!

Ryan B.

Yelp
Totally on point Detroit style chili cheese hotdogs! Cheap, fast, friendly and worth it! Crispy hot dog in a mild chili with mustard and onions. Literally brought me back to the Greek diners of Detroit! Worth the visit!
google avatar

Dorian R.

Yelp
Found this place while on the Fremont Street experience. The food is good. Small lounge. The customer service was ok. The wait time to receive your order wasn't that bad . Overall a decent place to come get some food .
google avatar

Micah B.

Yelp
It's okay for a first try. Nice old fashion joint.o I mean for a first try it's cool.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
Great location in the D casino with an entrance on Fremont or inside the casino. The place is really small but it's open 24 hours which is nice the price of a hot dog is around $5. It was good but I'm surprised they don't have sauerkraut.

John M.

Yelp
3 am Late nite Dogs have a snap when biting. Solid cannot go wrong AWSOME! staff friendly.
google avatar

Victor C.

Yelp
While American was never my favorite Coney in Detroit, it's still solid. I like that I can now get my coney dog fix when I'm in Vegas since I don't make it to Detroit very often. The only reason for the -1 star is that you really have to pay $.90 for extra chili here ($5.40 total) if you want your dog to be served how they serve them in Detroit. Otherwise, it will be too dry. I realized this on my first trip there which was a slight disappointment. I got it right on my second trip there.
google avatar

Lou H.

Yelp
Snap! Now that's a Coney Dog! They serve the basics perfectly. Looking for the perfect dog with that classic Coney Island snap? This is it! "Naw, I'm gonna have steak and lobster later at the buffet." Fine, walk by ACI on the way for chili-dog appetizer. I promise, you will regret missing this dog.
google avatar

Steff A.

Yelp
Located in the D hotel, American Coney Island is exactly what you need when you've been day drinking at the Freemont Street Experience.. You can dine in but it's a tiny hot dog joint mainly for to go orders in my opinion. The staff is friendly and I was impressed that they kept the tables clean and cleared immediately after a party was finished. The hot dogs come to you quickly after they're ordered...speaking of hot dogs Coney Island Hot Dog- Topped with mustard and chili, the Coney Island Hot Dog is drunk snack food for adults and a meal for kids. The expectation of a hot dog on the go is met here. If you're coming here for some kind gourmet hot dog experience, read the name of the place again and know that you're in the wrong place. If you keep your expectations realistic ACI provides the casual hot dog experience that they advertise. Enjoy!
google avatar

Franklin F.

Yelp
Price and portions were good. We got 4 Coney Island classics, fries (1 order is enough for 2), and 1 large drink. Our total was $27.09. Hot dogs had a good flavor but we didn't like the thicker hotdog casing as it seemed a little chewy for our taste.
google avatar

Hossein E.

Yelp
A great place to get a greasy cheesy and just what the doctor ordered chili dog. It's right in the action on Freemmont street in the heart of old town Vegas. This place really hit the spot in terms of being the savory meal I needed after a light night out. One of the perks is that you can go right into the casino of the D hotel when you're done with your food as the entrance is located directly next to the casino floor. I would recommend sticking with the classic Coney Island hot dog and if you're really hungry add a order of the chili cheese fries (pro tip extra onions) and you will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Excellent dogs. They have a crunch to them. Bite in and the casing pops. Love the chili, onions, and mustard. I probably had a total of 4 of them that weekend. Staff is friendly and quick. Line moves quickly. Try 'em out.
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
After a long night and returning to our room, I was hungry and looked up the menu and wanted some chili cheese fries! It was about 1am and since they're open 24 hrs, I ran downstairs to place an order for chili cheese fries while the hubby played at the nearby slots. The employees were nice, alert and, the service was super quick, I wanna say maybe less than 2 mins. The cashier asked if I wanted onions and, yes, I had "them" added. Now you might ask yourself, why did she put the word THEM in quotes. I tell ya why in a minute. We get back to the room and open the bag to see a small container ... then I open the container and see there's not a lot of chili ( nothing like any the other pictures on uploaded to yelp). the chili was definitely delicious, HOWEVER, I maybe had only 3 bites that were covered in chili n cheese . there definitely wasn't enough chili throughout the fries but also not enough to mix it in so the fries. AND, I seriously only got 2 pieces of chopped pinions lol, TWO PIECES...literally!!!!! I dug around thinking did he threw them in the middle? On the bottom?? NOPE! I dug around not only hoping more onions would appear but also hoping I'd find more chili at the bottom.. but that's a no! I was too tired to go back downstairs to show them. I gave 2 stars because the service was fast, but would've only given 1 star because price, the small size for the price, the 2 diced pieces of onions and not enough chili. NOT worth the $6 plus tax at all!!
google avatar

Tara F.

Yelp
Great service, but I wasn't a fan of the chili dog itself. It was lacking major flavor!
google avatar

L A.

Yelp
Husband and I ordered a Coney dog and chili cheese fries. Both were really good. The sign says they're open 24 hours. Located in the D casino on Fremont Street. Customer service was awesome. Haven't had such pleasant customer service for a while. Lots of smiles
google avatar

Spencer K.

Yelp
All things considered Coney Island is a decent fast food spot for late night eats when you're running out of options.
google avatar

Wally W.

Yelp
I'm from Detroit and this place is sub standard compared to the ones back home the actual hot dog is decent but they are extremely skimpy with the chili for what reason?? And charge for extra onions wow it's beyond disappointing and they don't even have Faygo pop hopefully after the renovations they will remedy this

Melissa H.

Yelp
The food is wonderful....when you bite into the hot dog, the skin is crispy enough that you can feel the "pop" in your mouth! The service was top notch...VERY friendly staff! You can tell that they genuinely enjoy their job!! Small area to eat, but clean...like a diner!
google avatar

Dustin H.

Yelp
Cheapest meal we had in Vegas! After a day walking first the strip then old Vegas, ACI right there in the Fremont Street area really hit the spot. Chilli dogs, hot french fries, friendly service, no judgement at our carried in cocktails...what's more to ask for in a place like this?
google avatar

Ross B.

Yelp
A no-frills Coney dog just like your dad used to make. They're cheap and kind of small, so the perfect late night snack. (But be forewarned: they don't sell beer, so make sure you figure out where you're going to get that to go with your dog.)
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
Oh well The great advertising photos, it's history, and it's family owned. All the reasons why I decided to forego the other spots on Fremont Street, like the Hotdog & Soda Special for $4.99! My expectations of a great All American meal was deflated by the food specialist's attitude. I understand its hot and you have other problems that does not involve me... I completely understand that a person can have a bad day. But, all you needed to do is take a deep breath and remember its not my fault. I decided to ignore this and just have a great Coney Island Classic. I went up to my room in the D excited, hungry, and ready for an awesome All American Classic as described and promoted on the advertisements. Took the food out of the bag to find the fries still needed another minute for good crispiness. Bit into the dog only to experience what a hotdog that's been out warming for at least 2-3 hours tastes like... not good not good at all. The only thing good was the Diet Coke I hope they can make some adjustments to the operations... they can learn a lot from McDonald's system of food delivery. At least, McDonald's has been very consistent with me... don't judge McDonlad's IS AN ALL AMERICAN Classic!!!
