American Ice Co. Cafe

My daughter broke her arm in this town, but that has absolutely nothing to do with American Ice Co. Cafe, just a little tidbit that I thought would be fun to share. The American Ice Co. Cafe is one of the most delightful cafes I've ever been to, and that's saying a lot because the dozens of bots that follow my account know how much I love a cafe. We came around the lunch hour and the restaurant was busy, but there was still plenty of seating. We grabbed a table outside and were quickly served our drinks by a very friendly waiter. We also ordered a few sandwiches and some tomato soup which took a little longer to find their way to our mouths, but came all the same. There was apparently a "soup crisis" according to the waiter, which is why our food was delayed. I don't know what that means, but if that soup was born out of a crisis, I can't imagine what would happen if it was created in normal circumstances. By that, I mean that it was without a doubt some of the best tomato soup I've ever had. My wife, who is as passionate about soup as she is about our marriage I'm pretty sure, has claimed that it is the best soup she's ever had in her life. Tall words but they check out seeing as she continues to talk about it several weeks after our visit. Everything was delicious. The coffee, the sandwiches, the soup, the water in the copper cups, everything. Loved it.

We came in for lunch and coffee, it was pretty busy but service was fast. I got a crème brûlée latte, tomato soup, and ham and cheese, and my partner got their turkey panini and vanilla latte. Overall, it was less than $50 and everything was super delicious! If we’re back in the area, we will certainly visit again!! The last time we were here was in the 2010s (maybe 2018-19?).

Delicious eats and drinks! I would keep practicing the matcha and Vietnamese coffee drinks, otherwise we had no other issues with anything else. The service is great, folks are kind, and the shop was kind, spacious, and always popular! I went twice on my stay in town and highly recommend the House Latte. *chef's kiss*

Ok, this is nice; generous ham, a lovely egg with cheddar on a buttery croissant. (oh and tasty, dark coffee.) yes here!

Came here with a few friends to grab coffee and a bite. Nancy was amazing! Super kind, helpful and efficient. I tried the fireside latte and it was delicious along with the banana chocolate chip muffin. Will definitely be returning!

The staff at American ice is so friendly and personable! Jenna and Nancy are always so welcoming and literally remember our regular order, from drinks to the food. They change their drink specials based on the season and always have some fun and interesting drinks you can’t find anywhere else. High quality coffee, delicious chai and the food there is GREAT. Always see the same guy cooking and can not complain one bit. Worth giving this place a try! I forgot to mention, they have little duck figurines by the register that are so cute.

Coffee is pretty good, not the greatest. Atmosphere is good. I will work there from time to time and meet up with co-workers. Great space up there for doing that. Some times I've gotten coffee and it is fantastic. Other times, it is just ok. Inconsistent between one visit to the next. None the less, I do like supporting the small business community.

I love everything about this Café! I wish there were more around the area. The atmosphere is great. I visited two days in a row for a cappuccino and sandwich. This cafe reminded me of being back in Sweden. Sandwiches are great! I have eaten the Nan-which and the turkey panini. Both great! I really loved the Nan-which. I'd say it's one of my favs so far, but I will keep u posted if it changes. If I had to critique one thing about the sandwiches so far, I would say for the price, there should be some chips included. Both times eating there, I wanted chips. That was the only downside for me. Cappuccino was on point. I added a small amount of sugar-free vanilla syrup, and boy o boy, was it amazing. It's a must try! There is plenty of seating. Downstairs tables and upstairs table and booths. While the downstairs seemed more "put together" and cozy, the upstairs is nice. I think it is still a work in progress. Hopefully, they will give the upstairs some decoration and appeal. Check it out for yourselves and enjoy.

Great coffee shop to dive in for an espresso. Even when they were about to close with 10 minutes left on the clock. I came in. They told me that food is not currently available but that's ok. I needed an espresso before the movie to keep me awake. The caffeine slinger got me set right and I was wide awake for the next two hours. The movie was not great but the coffee was excellent.

Excellent coffee! If you want to try a creative treat, this is your place. The setting is coffee shop. There's seating in two areas, and we didn't have trouble finding a spot. Service was quick and helpful. Why should you choose American Ice Co? Easy! Ohemgee, the flavors! While they have all the basics (including Vietnamese coffee, a personal fave), their seasonal menu is where it's at. I ordered the... I think it was called the Squirrel's Nuts or something like that. And that name was accurate. It was so nutty with various nutty flavors. I giggled when I took my first sip. I highly recommend stepping away from the chains to try this little spot.

Awesome relaxed vibe, super friendly staff and great food are rounded out with a great coffee house. It looks tiny when you walk in, but there is seating on both sides when you walk in and upstairs. Some how it's sort of kid friendly while still being hip. Everything we got was good.

This is a cozy spot for coffee, breakfast or lunch. It has a limited menu but everything is freshly made and tastes fantastic. There are three small dining areas. It has a cozy vibe and is a hidden gem.

Great food every time I'm in there, the service is always super friendly and lovely. Drinks are on point and it's such a cute space! The upstairs is great for reading or studying

I have been going to American Ice Company (AIC) for over 3 years, but I have to make a special callout to Katelin and Africa for outstanding service. I stop by there almost every week and it is almost like being with family:) Both Katelin & Africa make my Cortado perfectly and I am very happy with the coffee:) I have lived all over the world and I am indeed a coffee snob, but I am very satisfied with my order at AIC every time. I will make it a point to get my coffee there every week! Thanks guys!!

I had a work meeting at American Ice Co. Cafe this past week. The cafe is charming, cozy, and comfortable. And the staff were really friendly and helpful. My London Fog was good. I'd be happy to return and enjoy more at American Ice Co. Cafe in the future.

Unique cafe with lunch offerings. They have milk tea and bobas are add-on for $3 each cup. The drinks were good but I though the honey dew was too sweet. I think there were 4 ice cream flavors available per scoop. There's a second level which seats more people but the view downstairs look better for picture-taking! Service was superb and quick! Would visit again if we were in the area.

Just stopped in for a latte. Very tasty, nice and hot, friendly barista. I'd go back for sure.

Long wait for one BLT, which was missing Tomato. Overpriced for lack luster food I could make at home.

I placed an order online simply for a bagel with cream cheese. I went and I picked up the order. The lady at the counter, handed it to me and said "have a great day" with no mention of the extreme disappointment i was about to experience. I said "thank you you too".I came home to enjoy my delicious bagel with cream cheese that I was really really really excited about except when I opened the box it was just a bagel, no cream cheese. Keep in mind I had to pay $1.50 or two dollars to add cream cheese and as a broke 23 year-old that kind of money goes a long way so I called them to ask how this could've happened and I just said "hey you know I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and just picked up my order. I have the bagel just no cream cheese" and the lady on the phone said "yeah sorry about that. We're out of cream cheese", like I was supposed to know that when I paid two extra dollars for it, they offered no compensation so now I'm just eating a bagel with butter on it from home.

Ive been coming here for years. Through some of my darkest days. And their employee has been there for me every time. Keeping this review short because of the waterworks, but i want everyone to know; Luke Dodge saved my life. also the food and ambiance is good.

Every time I come here I enjoy it. The coffee is good and so is the food. Even though the staffing seems to rotate often, they have all been fantastic to talk to (but, I force them to talk to me :). The atmosphere is quaint and historic, love it!! My go to locally

Only three stars because my Turtle Latte wasn't made with less sugar as requested. And my son's Thai Boba tea was mostly milk and the boba was hard and sticky. The baristas were kind and the Huz loved his Americano with Honey. They were closing early so we couldn't enjoy lunch or sit in the roaster area. I'd come back the back looked nice and cozy to sit, sip and read.

Such a cute spot for a variety of different drinks! I wish I had more time to explore the menu, food and drink selection! It was a very easy spot to find with ample seating and plenty of staff working to ensure drinks were given out in a timely fashion. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and it was delicious! They also had boba and other varieties! Tons of options. Love it!

Today was my first time visiting this unique cafe and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and well prepared! The cafe is small and quite charming and offers quite a nice variety of menu items to choose from. We were all vegetarians and had plenty of menu items to choose from. The atmosphere is comfortable and the service was great! We will be back to try more of the delicious menu items!

Basically the Same place as the Hershey restaurant- cute and small and your place for espresso style or latte style coffee. Easy street parking and walk trying to find this place. Went with the iced Vietnamese coffee and felt it was a good call. Kinda was like chocolate milk with some coffee in it. Would definitely head back for a cappuccino- was in a rush so didn't poke around much and look for pastries. Owner was nice and they have a loyalty card.

I love American Ice! From the coffee to the environment. I typically get only coffee but the times I've ordered food, amazing!

Nice craft coffee. Has live music and open mic nights. Good place to study for local students who need to get out. Half a mile walk from McDaniel college.

Cute place, but do NOT I repeat do NOT order avocado from them. On 2 separate occasions I spent $2 for 1/4 of an avocado, and not just any avocado, but a rock hard avocado that was not ripe yet. The workers here obviously do not know how to tell if an avocado is ready or not. Food is good but I will never make the expensive mistake of ordering anything with avocado again. BTW, birthday cake latte is amazing

Decent food. Glacial service. If you're in a hurry, go somewhere else. If you have time (potentially a looooonnng time), then hang out. Staff are friendly, food is solid-not-fancy, coffee is good. Really the only thing that keeps me from giving them more stars is the service. I can't adequately explain how slow they are.

This is a real cute coffee shop that has so much to offer including food and other goodies! I hosted a small work holiday gathering in their rentable conference room which has a private bathroom and kitchenette. I originally worked with the supervisor Angela to coordinate- she was lovely and very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. We planned the concept of a hot chocolate bar with pastries, fruit and cheese and crackers- light fare. Many of my guests said it was the best hot chocolate they have had in a long time. The owners allowed me to decorate the room and they supplied food by special order they don't normally offer. Todd was especially helpful during the event. I loved to see was handicap access from the rear entrance. One thing that surprised me was the back patio where it appears there is a bar and entertainment area though it was winter during my party and too cold to use. I highly recommend using the conference room for a small get together- comfortable for under 10 people. This conference room I used was on the second floor, they also have a room on the ground level too Angela said they would consider renting as well. Great service, cute place, yummy food and drinks. I want to preface my review of America Ice Coffee Co. by stating two things upfront--my experience with them is limited, and that I want them to succeed, very much so. That is why I will write this review with the criticisms I have hoping that the next time I visit my experience is better. I'll start with the good, location is great. The cafe is cute leaning on coffee shop cliché but whatever. And they're open on Sunday and Monday which for some reason in Westminster seems to be asking a lot so that a huge advantage in their favor. Now for the criticism. My experience is based on a quick coffee run, but if you're going to have coffee to go you need to offer more than a single size 12oz cup. If I order ice coffee I expect there to be ice in it, at the very least I expect it to be cold--not room temperature. Maybe if of the three people working behind the counter, the one I assume to have been the manager was less busy looking at their phone and more focused on customer satisfaction that might not have been an issue for me. Iced coffee means ice in the coffee! If I want cream or milk in my coffee I want to add it in myself, not the staff member behind the counter. Please allow me to add my own cream. If I want made-to-go coffee I'll go to Dunkin. The coffee--both coffees--I ordered were bitter and the flavor was poor, I had the feeling the coffee was sitting around a while :(. Then Menu--I wish they would put the menu put it behind the counter so the customer can see it. The only menu I saw was behind me when I was facing the cashier and so to see it I had to crane my neck around. American Ice seems like a shop more focused on appearances and less on customer experience (mine was poor). I will go back but I'm going to give them some time to improve and when I do return and if my experience is better than my first one I'll update my review to reflect that. I genuinely hope my next experience is better. I think they have it in them to succeed and I hope they do.

Good coffee, gps could not find the place but found it to be a nice cool hole in the wall kinda coffee shop!

Delicious lattes, panini's and wraps in a family friendly atmosphere! Roast Beef panini and a Ghirardelli mocha latte is a must have. They use the best and fresh ingredients. In talking to the barista, they use locally sourced organic ingredients. Service was fast and friendly. Inside seating was spacious with the upper level and free WiFi! Was able to study in the upper room while having a meal and coffee to keep me going. Definitely coming back in the spring/summer for a scoop of ice cream! Off menu tip: they offer milk steamers of any flavor for kids not drinking coffee.

Friendly and charming place. Good coffee and much-better-than-expected breakfast sandwiches. We will definitely come back if we have the opportunity.

Stopped by this new coffee place for the second time for breakfast. First visit both my wife and I had coffee and ham, cheese, and egg croissant. That was a great experience. Coffee was fresh and sandwiches were well made with two perfectly cooked eggs, as the menu states. This time I ordered the same thing but my wife opted for the quiche. Unfortunately, our experience was not the same. She described her quiche as mostly bread and my sandwich had one seriously over cooked egg, on a stale croissant. First visit our food was prepared by the owner and this time by new untrained or poorly trained employee with no enthusiasm. We'll likely give it another try but in a town with half a dozen similar choices, the new kid on the block needs to step up their game.

This place is adorable and has the best choices for food and drinks! I love coming here for coffee dates with friends. So much to choose from and the staff is wonderful. Definitely recommend!!

I'm a local and always try to support local business's. Saturday night our town had a Christmas parade and since we arrived early, decided to get some yummy hot chocolate on the chilly night from the American ice company cafe. It was our first time in and we were excited about trying something new and even took a menu so we could do business in the future. It was busy but not crazy busy (I think 3 other people were in there) we ordered our hot chocolate and waited and waited and waited. It took 20 minutes to get them. The parade was about to start and we walked back to our seats across the street and noticed that our drinks were terrible and didn't taste right. They forgot to add the chocolate! It was just warm milk and whipped topping. Yuck! I took all three drinks back and by then they were packed with people waiting for drinks and it took another 10 minutes to replace the drinks. This time they remembered the chocolate but forgot the hot part. It was cold and all three cups were only 1/2 to 3/4 full. Really disappointed and my wife and I decided it cost us $12 to realize we don't need to go back there for anything else. It's hot chocolate!!! Two ingredients HOT AND CHOCOLATE, oh well...

Great atmosphere! Loved the house oatmeal! Will be back soon:) Give this cute coffee shop a try!! Lots of coffee types to choose from.

I can't wait to have an indoors lunch at this location. EVERYTHING that I have gotten through the carry out window has been excellent. I've tried every panini and the chicken curry salad so far. It looks pretty cool inside, although through the window for now. The staff person is also so full of personality ........ ordering is almost as fun as the food is good. I'll definitely be a return customer Such a cool place.

this is my new favorite coffee and breakfast shop. all of the sandwiches i've ordered have been fresh and delicious. the staff is really friendly. the environment is great and they have live music weekly. i highly recommend

What an awesome place. The staff is always friendly, always make the orders correctly and promptly. We have been here three times in the past couple months and very much look forward to returning again. It is always a great place to work from if you need to work, or place to sit and chat if you want. Thank you fro a great place.

You must stop by this little gem and try the Chai latte and the Everything Bagel Sandwich with Bacon Egg & Cheese. You will not be disappointed!

Such a great place to grab a tasty treat (especially breakfast and lunch), chat with friends, and find a quiet place to study!! A lot of great coffee/tea options :) Also a ton of different little nooks to sit, since they have several rooms to eat in. Super friendly service as well!

Stopped for morning coffee and a bagel. I was warmly greeted and attended to by an attentive staff. They are still learning the ropes but this has the makings of a wonderful addition to downtown Westminster. My best observation was their amazingly large unisex bathroom which easily holds 8-10 people. I know this because approximately 8 of us sheltered in there when a tornado hit nearby. The place weathered the storm! American Ice Co Cafe: welcome to Westminster I'm glad you are here.

Absolutely worst customer service I've ever experienced. Twice in the last 3 days I have ordered a smoked Gouda and apple grilled cheese sandwich. Twice I have received a sandwich with zero apples yet covered in an inch thick layer of what appears to be ham. The employees stand around taking about weekend conquests instead of doing their job. Clearly are so distracted that they can't tell the difference between lunch meat and apples. Don't go here. The first order we picked up ourselves and didn't realize until we got home the mistake. The second order was DoorDashed. The dasher sat there for a good 25 minutes waiting for them to make this one sandwich. It took an hour and 25 minutes to receive it from the moment I placed the order until it finally arrived. This cafe is 8 minutes from my house.

Service was great, my coffee tasty, but.. if I can add my own creamer that would make it a 5 star.

Such a relaxing friendly atmosphere. Sat outside and enjoyed delicious sandwiches. I had the roast beef which had excellent flavor. My first experience was their curry chicken wrap - enough for two meals and so good got me to show up again in person and take a friend.

I've picked up food from there three times, once before the pandemic and twice after. The food is delicious--if I were just rating the food, it would get 5 stars. The service is not friendly, however. Once, when I walked in to pick up my order, the staff was complaining about the trouble they had to go to to make my sandwich. When I picked up an order to go, they told me that "everything was in the bag." I got back to my office and the chips I had ordered were not in there. When one of my staff walked back, in the rain, to get the chips, they made it sound like it was my fault for not picking up the chips off the rack on my way out. When I called in an order, the person on the phone didn't seem to know what was included with certain offers. The food is great, but they really need some training in customer service.

Loved their latte! Little cold for ice cream but will definitely be back for Hershey's Ice Cream!
