American Pizza Mfg is a Take and Bake Pizza establishment -you order one of their signature pies (or create your own pie with whatever ingredients you want), it is assembled, and shrink wrapped fresh to take home to bake at your leisure. These pizzas are not cooked, just assembled with the ingredients you love, and packaged with instructions to bake at home. It’s like your own refrigerated pizza from a local grocer, but without the preservatives and freshly manufactured on-the-spot especially for you. They also have nice dessert options - we ordered the take and bake chocolate chip cookie, but will try other dessert options at a later date. What we especially love about American Pizza Mfg are the extensive veggie offerings, the goat cheese option on the menu, and the Cutie Pie Kit for a kids pizza party. As a vegetarian, it is nice to find a place with plant-based options, and to be able to create your own vegetarian pizza or vegan pizza is not an easy find. We did curbside delivery for our order, and Andrew had the best customer service and common courtesy with the delivery of our order. We are a military family of six and we appreciate that our sacrifices are appreciated with a 15% military discount offered (military families need to call in to receive this discount or show military identification before payment). Wasn’t sure about the take-and-bake concept at first, but I was totally wrong—this is some of the best pizza in San Diego! Fresh, thin crust, unique flavors, and top-quality ingredients. Their salads are also amazing! The owners are local and incredibly kind. Support this awesome small business!

Have always wanted to try this spot and today was the day after 4 years of passing it so often! I have to say I was impressed and when I say I love pizza… I love pizza and have pretty high standards. This place definitely brought it home!! 10/10 recommend.

You could really taste the difference in their high-quality sourced ingredients & I’ll forever recommend this as a healthier alternative for all my clients! This is my absolute favorite spot for pizza! The owners/workers are super nice and friendly. The pizza is incredible and I love that you can choose from a variety of sauces and toppings. Every time I go here I enjoy a complimentary glass of wine while waiting for my pizza. :)

Instead of getting a pizza from Costco, consider swinging by American Pizza Manufacturing and take home a fresh pie made to order. These guys rock, they don’t make your take home and bake pizza until you order it. You can phone in, use their webpage or just walk in and they will greet you and make you feel at home while you wait for your pizza to be made. Their pizza is delicious, we have tried almost every one and we love them all. Just set your oven to 425 and cook for about 10 minutes and you are done. Nothing better than a fresh hot pizza out of the oven. They have classics like pepperoni and Margherita but they also have some signature dishes which use top quality ingredients including caramelized onions, prosciutto, burrata and Italian sausage. Their pasta dishes are also awesome, we love the lasagna and macaroni and cheese. We always get a salad, our favorite is a palm desert, with candied walnuts and grapefruit slices along with Gorgonzola, delicious!

We discovered APM when we moved to La Jolla-- and what a great discovery. The food is fresh, deliciously tasty, and of terrific quality. Everyone at APM is friendly and service is always fast and reliable. Andrew, the owner, is utterly delightful and is happy to deliver with a smile and super fast. We love the Harley-- superior pepperoni. Great toppings all around though. Delicious crust and fresh, delicious salads. Highly recommend APM, especially on one of those "I don't want to cook but I don't want to go out and want a glass of wine at home and restaurant quality dinner" nights.

This shop offers take and bake homemade pizzas, which makes a wonderful, unique experience - perfect for a date night, girls gathering, or family pizza night! They make everything homemade, even their pastas! The owners are so warm and friendly and offered a complimentary wine sample while you wait. We got two pizzas, the Levi and Pendleton which were both amazing. They use fresh, high quality ingredients that you can really taste. We also got the "Cup-Prese" salad which was the perfect app while we cooked the pizza. We also sprung for the garlic knots. Everything turned out amazing and we can't wait to come back!

This is THE BEST PIZZA in San Diego! I'm not kidding. The service is incredible as well. I highly recommend stopping by here if you are in La Jolla and want to have a fun date night or family night at home with incredible pizza. Don't even get me started on the ranch dressing!!! Thank you.

So when my wife and I first moved to La Jolla, we came to this pizza shop because it was right by our place. When we first ordered, we were surprised that the pizza was not cooked and we had to bring it back home and cook it ourselves. The servicemen behind the counter was very nice about my shock. At first we were frustrated, then we took a bite and were absolutely blown away. We also bought a cookie that we warmed up and we basically collapsed in heaven. I think the main point is as long as you know you're buying a pizza you need to warm up at home this will be one delicious pizza

This review is for the lasagna and Frank's Chicken Pasta. They are both incredibly generous in size and will easily feed 4+ people. The lasagna is slightly larger and is a really solid bulletproof dish. It withstands a reheat and tastes as good the second time. I'd rate it at or near the top against any lasagna in the village, but the price/value is in a league of its own. I didn't know what to expect from Frank's, but it ended up being one of the tastiest pasta dishes I've ever eaten. It is flat out fabulous! Paired with the Palm Desert salad we were blown away with how successful this meal was. It had a perfect balance of heat and richness and was again a very generous portion. My new favorite dish!

Every time we order pizza from this (I get the mushroom one every time), I seriously can't get enough. Probably the only pizza I could finish entirely on my own... I want to try the other ones but can't seem to order anything but the mushroom for now Thank you for continuing to absolutely kill it!!

Delicious! Everyone in our family of 8 complimented the fantastic flavor of the pizza and pasta. I Pre-ordered on the app for pick up later that day - super easy. Had questions when picking up and the staff was great. She especially helped by explaining how to cook 2 pizzas at once. Our pizza order included the Shandy, Harley (added soppressata) and Edsel (added prosciutto), plus an order of the Mac & Cheese. What a hit! We will definitely be regulars.

We scheduled delivery for 6:30 and it arrived at 6:27 The pizzas were easy to cook and all tasted great We got the margarita, pepperoni, sausage and a custom veggie. Prices very reasonable

American Pizza Manufacturing is in our top 3 favorite pizza places in San Diego. Their classic pepperoni pizza is one of the best we've had. They use very fresh ingredients and the quality has been consistent each time. We don't mind having to bake them at home, they have always turned out perfectly following the provided instructions.

First of all, my favorite salad is the Palm Desert. It's not just my favorite salad on this menu, it's my favorite salad. So delicious and refreshing with lots of citrus, beautiful beautiful greens, cheese, nut nibbles etc. Truly a delight. Next level salad is just one of the surprising items here. Pasta? Yeah pasta. Franks Chicken Pasta has saved my life more than one evening. I just love their take and bake entrees-Franks is my most frequent go to, but the lasagna tastes remarkably like my besties and super delish. I usually cook them up a little slower and lower and can count on having some equally delicious leftovers. Everyone knows about the great pizza here, but I'm obsessing over the weekly salad and pasta dinners at my house. It's nice to have options.

Wow. This pizza was fantastic- thanks Yelpers for steering us in the right direction! As it was our last night in La Jolla, daughter suggested pizza delivery- we found out this place is just .2 mile walk away and I liked the 'take and bake' idea so we'd have hot pizza. Hubs and I built our own Cali crust with speck, pepper mix, sun dried tomatoes and calibrian Chile and daughter had regular crust. About 10 mins in the over for each and we had fantastic pizza. Crust was crisp and just perfect on both pizzas! We also shared an Italian salad between the three of us- it was huge! About $46 and that included 20% off of you download and order thru app. Easy peasy. Now we go home to Phoenix and I will have to see if we have anyplace like this around us!!

Husband and I just consumed a 12" pepperoni with cauliflower crust. Crispy and delicious as ever. Very impressed with the results. Taste and quality are exceptional. Excited for the next time. PS We used a pizza stone and it worked out perfectly.

Quick service, the pizza we selected was good. The Caesar dressing was the thickest I've ever seen and took a a fair amount of tossing to coat the lettuce nicely. We've been here before and will be back again. Like the concept, good execution.

Third time getting Pizza here after only the 2nd time in La Jolla. Last time we went back a 2nd night and I knew when we came back this would be one of the first stops. The ingredients are all good, but it's the crust for me. I'm not sure what the secret is, but it's perfect every time. Crispy yet thin, but still has some chewiness. It's just perfect. I'm not even a big sauce guy, but the sauce is perfect too. Excellent spot, I'm envious to locals that can get this whenever they want.

First of all, great people work here and they will do whatever they can to accommodate you. Ive gotten the take n bake pizza several times and it bakes to perfection. Ive gotten the salads, and lasagna too. The ice cream although pricey is amaaazing!

I have mixed feelings. I love this type of pizza experience as my family grew up getting pizza from a local take and bake. First, the ingredients are totally fresh which was a plus. My problem was the crust. It was so thin we could barely get it to cook and some parts completely collapsed through the crust. It was at this point more fork and knife quality. Which was okay. we cooked it for 20 minutes and the middle crust just would not cook to a point it was going to support the pizza. Overall flavor and taste (the toppin was great, I would suggest making the dough maybe a little thicker to support the weight of the pizza.

We LOVE this place!! The pizza is quite possibly one of the best we have ever had! The concept of take and bake is so brilliant as well!!! Like who doesn't want a hot fresh pizza right out of the oven. We usually order the cauliflower crust which is phenomenal. We actually prefer it over the regular crust. Every bite is a flavor explosion. Looking at the pizza it doesn't seem like anything special but after cooking it and having that first piping hot bite it makes all of your pizza dreams come true. I usually order the Deere and my friends and husband will customize theirs and every pizza we have had has been soo good! I love adding extra veggies and vegan cheese once I'm home to my pizza and the Calabrian chili's make all the difference so i definitely recommend adding those to any pizza if you like a little bit of heat. As far as cooking goes you really can't mess it up. Just set a timer and let it bake!! I like to get ours nice and crispy. My mouth is watering as I type and I can't wait to go back!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE My favorite part of being in La Jolla is being able to come here and get pizza, pizookie, and the best ice cream I've ever had in my life (I am somewhat of an ice cream expert). The owners are nice as can be. Shout out to Andrew for being so welcoming and giving us free wine while we wait with nothing asked in return. The food is so good it makes me want to fly a banner in the sky saying how it is a SD must try. Hope to see your restaurant in Orange County soon!

Stopped in and ordered two pies. They offered a small glass of wine while waiting for them to be built. Nice touch! Pizza ingredients were fresh and baked by easily following the provided instructions.

Pizza was amazing and very easy to cook. We had a long day at the beach and were too tired to go to a restaurant, so we stayed in and had a family dinner at our Airbnb.

We love this place. Their pizzas are great to take home and bake. It's so nice to have a hot pizza fresh from your own oven. The pizza topping combinations suggested on their menu are very tasty. Their salads are fresh and flavorful. We like to add their take and bake chocolate chip cookie for dessert. It is so delightful. You can't go wrong ordering from here. The staff are friendly and professional. The service is superb. We have never been disappointed.

Delicious pizza and the nicest people! Likely the best customer service experience I have had. They went above and beyond to help me out after I made a mistake in an order I placed online. Worth noting again - this was entirely an error on my end and they were beyond nice and helpful. Totally exceeded what I could have expected.

Super simple concept executed very well! We picked up a Large Hallmark pie to go and added on some shredded mozzarella and a CRP blend from Italy before we popped it into the oven. The pie was freshly assembled and it was great to be able to enjoy hot when it worked best for us. A great option for those who want to enjoy a restaurant quality meal without the risk during these times. We will definitely be back to try other options.

The take and bake pizza concept has arrived in the La Jolla area. You can order one of the seven preset styles, and the kitchen will make the pizza pie fresh to-go. They won't cook it for you but rather provide instructions on how to optimally bake the pizza in the oven when you get home. Lasagna, mac 'n cheese, four salads, and two desserts rounded out the rest of the menu. I chose The Flyer which was one of the most popular types. Homemade ruby red tomato sauce, freshly grated mozzarella, bold & spicy pepperoni, and a parmesan sprinkle made up this pizza. I put it in my oven for 16 minutes to get the crunchy crust I had desired. The pepperoni slices were quite salty for my taste but other than that, the rest of the components were just fine. Their fresh pizzas are superior to any of the frozen and reheat brands you can get at the market. Don't come here though if you are looking for an already cooked pizza, whole or by the slice.

So my brother-in-law had a gift certificate to visit this place nearby... Thus we gave it a try. I picked up three pizzas, mac and cheese plus a Caesar. The staff was really cheerful and super cordial. The appearance from the outside and looking inside at the prep area it looked fresh clean and first rate. To be clear this is a take and bake operation. Unless I'm mistaken there is no pickup and dining with ready to eat stuff other than salad. In my time I've had a lot of pizza in authentic Italian neighborhoods where my spouse grew up. Across the Nation and abroad spread across hundreds of reviews I've entered. I'm no genuine expert but I'm also no shill ... I'm an armchair critic who's Fair minded. As such we picked up our pizzas in nicely packed bags. We noticed underneath the pizzas were handwritten cheerful remarks. That was a very nice personal touch. Cooking at home was a snap. I must say it was a really good pizza no matter which one of the three. The mac and cheese was pretty good with large diameter pasta. my brother-in-law thought the salad was kind of small but I'd say it's just modestly undersized. So why only four stars? In spite of the fact that this was a good meal with acceptable sized portions for the money and decently good taste and freshness. Quality in the ingredients, packaging and quality in the kitchen and staff this really is a solid four stars. Five stars from me goes for the exceptional . It has to be among the very best for me to give top marks. I'd say it really comes close but it is not over the top with generous portions for the money. It's decently good just not super impressive in any one respect. I'm sure we'll go back again sometime soon. If you haven't tried this place I'd highly recommend you give them a chance. You're not going to be disappointed in all probability.

We have ordered from American Pizza Mfg twice and both times have been incredible. The first time we did a pick up order and yesterday we did a walk up order and only waited 10 min while they make your pizza to order so that it's nice and fresh. The take and bake concept is so cool and the quality is far better than anything you would get from almost all of the takeout pizza that we have tried throughout the area. Laura was extremely kind and all of the staff made us feel welcome and gave great suggestions. We ordered the Margherita pizza and made our own custom pizza. Each were absolutely excellent and we even had leftovers to take to work the next day. Highly recommend if you don't have the energy to cook for the night and want a quick stop for quality food to take home. My wife and I will definitely be going back!

Delicious!!! Homemade pizza dough. Homemade pasta! Pizza was delicious! Build your own pizza was perfect. The ingredients were not overwhelming and not too much. We baked ours on a pizza stone although they say, put it directly on the rack as they give you parchment paper it was wonderful We had the mac & cheese the next night for dinner, and I have to say it was probably the best mac & cheese I've ever had! We were visiting from Irvine California, were walking around the area and stopped in to say hello. Ended up coming back the next night for pizza.!

Fresh ingredients, excellent combinations and the BEST gluten free crust I've ever tasted. Ordered a veggie plus olives and a caramelized onion sausage plus mushrooms and olives. AMAZING.

After a week of going out to eat while visiting family in La Jolla, my wife daughter and I were craving a night in but didn't really want to cook. My parents introduced us to American Pizza Manufacturing Co. I can say, without a doubt, it was the BEST take-and-bake pizza I've had! The salad was also amazing, but the best pizza in the area, take and bake or not! Not only was the pizza amazing, but the restaurant itself was bright and CLEAN, unlike some other notable places in the area. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

Dang this pizza is good! Brought the family in to get excited about picking out their favorite pizzas and going home to cook them. They make it fresh to order, ingredients were fresh and it came out amazing I highly recommend it!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We wanted to try this place for a while and I'm so glad we finally did! Now we have a new place for takeout, and what a treat. The owner Lori was so friendly and offered us great customer service. The food is high quality and delicious! We bought the Frank's Chicken Pasta and it was incredible. It was a generous size, so we were able to enjoy leftovers the next day. I can't wait to pick up something else this weekend! Love this place.

My friends and I love this place. The pizzas are SO fresh and delicious. Perfect for a night when you really don't feel like cooking or for when you just want a damn good pizza! Staff is also super friendly, we were treated with a bit of wine while we waited :) definitely worth a try if you haven't been here! And don't forget one of their homemade cookies ;)

WARNING: THE PIZZA IS RAW! It's not at all apparent, but be prepared to have to cook the pizza. Was hoping for a quick dinner and was pretty disappointed to find out we had to cook it after planning around a late meeting. Pizza was good tho. I suppose it's nice to cook to your liking? Just wish we had known it came raw and probably wouldn't have gone had we known. An expensive lesson!

our extended family just got a place near this spot and we've now ordered 4 times so we feel ready to review! we're foodies and can appreciate high quality ingredients and this place definitely uses them. the shandy pizza, the margarita pizza, the lasagna, and the chicken pasta have been our favorites so far. we've tried the salads and "bones" too. feedback on the salads is that they are fresh but not worth buying going forward. the Caesar salad we had came with five small chops of red onion a handful of croutons and sprinkle of a very lightly detectable parmesan shaving...so much so, we ran over to Vons to get more to add to the piles of plain lettuce. going forward, we will skip ordering the salad and make our own while we are cooking the take home pizza. the bones were tasty but at $7, we felt annoyed having to spend $3 to add a small cup of marinara to dip them. again, we get this is La Jolla, the ingredients for the pizzas are high end, but we don't like spending $25 for a pizza and having to stop at Vons for Parmesan to shake on top or pay $2 extra for a cup. these items are usually included and our latest order ballooned to well over $130 once we added salads and dipping sauces. overall, now that we know this, we'll keep the extra sides on hand (salad stuff, sauces and Parmesan) and stick to $75 for a two pizzas and a few garlic bones. flavors are all top notch and ingredients are amazing. only other comment is that in general, readers can tell "fake reviews" and all of the grumpy commentary by the owner is not a good look at all. Less is sometimes more. It actually makes me less likely to come here again even though we actually liked the pizza/pasta and felt it was worth the money, but feel free to leave me a grumpy comment too and tell me to head to Vons. I guess it's your right To agree to disagree.

I love this pizza! OK, so it's the same pizza every time and I can only discuss their vegan pizza called The Deere. It's made with no cheese and I ask them to leave off the garlic oil drizzle they normally put on it. However I also get the extra topping of roasted garlic on it. It is SO delicious when it comes out of the oven!

The pizza is delicious and the convenience of eating a great pizza whenever you are ready is outstanding. What stands out most is the service and commitment to customer experience. No restaurant will appreciate your business more. Great people, great product.

Excellent pizza! We had the Harley + pepperoni. Great addition to the pie. Their sausage has tons of flavor with a little spice. Same with their pepperoni. Pro tip: we baked the pizza for ~15 minutes. Let sit for 2 minutes, then sliced it. I then put the slices on a hot skillet for ~1 minute to crisp the crust = amazing. Try it, you'll be amazed. Also had the Palm Desert salad. Bursting w flavor. Love their house made dressing.

Update: Deere ordered again. They were right, the last time was a fluke and this time the right balance of tomato was there and didnt get soggy. Yay! Btw these hold up from the freezer very well.

I was soooo surprised that this pizza was so good. Ima huge pizza snob so i kind of wasnt getting my hopes up, but this was really good. I got the edsel pizza . If you love mushroom this is it! i also got the standard which is just cheese to make the next day. Aaaannnddd the mac n cheese was prob the best mac n cheese I had in San Diego by far

We heard about this place and how amazing it was and how great the owner Andrew is and we came in and ordered the Deere and the Edsel pizzas and a Popeye Salad. We then took a walk to the beach right down the street while we waited for it to be prepared fresh and watched the incredible sunset and came back and it was ready. Just like that! Came home and baked it up to perfection! The pizza is so yummy!!!! You should definitely come support this small business!! We love it!!!

Love their Ceaser salad!! Their dressing is phenomenal and it's a nice mix of romaine, red onion and crispy croutons that they make. The owners are so very kind and always greet you with a cheery attitude. Their place is always spotless too!! Very inviting local spot. I'm also impressed how much they give back to their local schools and community as well.
