Excellent home cooked food and excellent service. Very clean. We always enjoy seeing the exhibits that they have and the Polish American Sports Hall of Fame. Most days they close at 6:00. And you should definitely call ahead to ensure there's no special events which would close the dining room. They have late hours on Friday and Saturday but definitely call ahead

Great portion sizing and the food was delicious. Definitely worth the trip. Beautiful ambiance when you first walk In The door, you’ll see an absolutely gorgeous piano. The entrance Inside the doorway has excellent craftsmanship The wood is just stunning.

If you want to experience some Polish- European ambiance, Wawel is a wonderful restaurant to go to. I suggest there potato pancake appetizer, snitzel, and city chicken were all good. Highly recommomend you have an imported polish beer while you are here! Only thing they are misssing is Kuhnhenn beer.

We love the restaurant. Home-made food. Very reasonable. The spacious dance floor is wonderful to dance on. Wait staff very attentive.

A very nice hall. I ate lunch in the restaurant. Pretty decent food, my Grandmother's is better honestly. Too "fancy" serving plates and bowls. Price is too high for the food you get. I'd rather goto Hamtramck

Google
Great venue for any occasion. Clean. Good size rooms. Delicious food. Friendly helpful staff. We had a great time at a 50th birthday party recently. Lots of easy parking with a covered entry way to protect us from the rain that night. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What good food. Dill pickle soup is on point. My first time having Pork Schnitzel and it's good. Tried a few different sides and still smiling. The MI salad looks awesome, but it will have to wait because the rest is yummy. My, my, dumplings m, perigee, potato cakes (a little greasy). I am glad the family got what they wanted. This was well worth it. Even got a plus from my wife who has a limit taste buds for polish food. That's a win.

Yelp
Amazing venue for a special event We held my parents' 50th wedding anniversary last night at the APCC, and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience from start to finish. The event manager, Tomasz, is incredible--knowledgeable, communicative, friendly. We were confident at all times that the event would run smoothly and be exactly what we wanted--which it was. The waitstaff and bartender were exceptional as well. We loved the Polish food we ordered as a buffet... there is literally nothing we would have changed about our experience. My mom has been crying all day because her party was so beautiful--it was like nothing she had ever imagined for herself. Thank you to the APCC for an unforgettable night.

Yelp
Atmosphere was very nice with the various memorabilia. Had a combination to get a taste of the various traditional foods. Potato pancakes, pierogi, and the dumplings were outstanding. Pork chops were a little disappointing, as the breading was soggy. City chicken was average. The service was excellent.

Yelp
Excellent cultural center located in Troy they hold an annual Christmas Polish buffet all your favorite specialties stuffed cabbage, beet soup mushroom soup, mashed potatoes, sourkraut

Yelp
Attended a friends wedding here. Was pleasantly surprised by good traditional polish food in the buffet. Haven't had carry out yet after that but planning on it.

Yelp
What can I say about this place. We attended a graduation here. The place has several rooms for rent to host a party. So if all the rooms are being use it can get pretty busy here and in the parking lot. The place is easy to find with huge signs on the corner. The rooms are pretty normal for a hall. Tables and chairs with a dance floor. Also, their is a bar area if you want to use it. The food there was mediocre with nothing special. Just another hall serving the same old stuff. The staff was very nice and cleaned up the tables pretty fast. At time though it was hard to get someone for things or took them forever to bring a pitcher of water. Overall, it is a hall that you can rent out and nicer than most. However, maybe try other places if you want better food.

Yelp
The best of the best of the best! Real, homemade Polish food (I know, first hand)... I love that it's so convenient and close. Very old world. If you speak Polish, do pipe up and greet your server in your native tongue. I simply adore this place, it brings me back, and the memories it conjures up are so very warming. This is a restaurant and banquet hall, and offers catering as well. They hold many events throughout the year. Paczki day! Get them here! Dances, festivals, events, funerals, showers, weddings. American Polish Cultural Center and Wawel Polish Restaurant is truly a place to consider for your event. The customer service cannot be matched!! Love love love this place!!

Yelp
Cześć. This is my 500th Yelp review so I had to think hard about who I was going to honor today. I cant believe I've neglected PCC, it just dawned on me. It had to be the cultural center. I feel like Steve Yzerman scoring his 500th goal. I've been around Polish food my entire life. I've been to more restaurants than I can count, bringing endless guests and recounting the scores of Wigilias and celebrations over the years where the cooking was done by my grandmother, my aunt's, my mom, and great aunts. I've had good and bad polish food and everything in between. There are some good ones still left in Hamtramck and around town and a new one nearby in Troy. Polish cultural center has the best and most authentic Polish food in the Detroit area. I will openly debate anyone on this topic. Their pierogis tastes very much like my grandmother's or the former Starlite on Michigan Avenue. They have the best golabki anywhere in town. They feature the Polish feast, Wawel chicken (only featured here) potato pancakes, delicious dill pickel soup and the occasional nalesniki for dessert. Seafood and vegetarian as well as a few Hungarian dishes. The ambience is classic old world style proudly served by ladies who pride this establishment. Full bar. 6 Polish bottles and 2 more on draft in addition to domestics. The restaurant is open a few days a week and is always clean and well operated. Very, very quaint and charming interior. Enjoy this experience and bring your family. Dziękuję.

Yelp
Slowest service on the planet. I cannot stress that enough. Sweet little ladies pushing carts in the slowest manner possible. The food is pretty standard homey Polish fare, filling, but not amazing. If you want amazing, go to Hamtramck. If you want quaint, dusty, bit decent food, stop through.

Yelp
We have been to APC in a couple of capacities. Occasionally we head down there for a family lunch. Food is delicious and the service isn't bad. Sometimes there is a bit of a language barrier but nothing you can't work through. The dill pickle soup makes everything all better :) We planned a large family dinner (party of 30) there and that is where the one star demotion comes in. Planning it was a challenge. We were planning it from the other side of the state and they wanted us to come in and sign on the contract. It's 2017 (almost '18) so technology should be able to alleviate the need for this. After we explained our situation they were a bit more accommodating. We did send some friends down to help us set things up and when they got there they were told the woman they needed to meet with was busy. Long story short they went down there for nothing because when they came back just a bit later she was gone. Oh well. It still worked out. Service the day of the party was just ok. We had one waitress for 30 and she was not the friendliest. I understand that she was busy but she just didn't smile. That was a bit of a buzzkill. Overall though the party went well and the food was delicious. We would definitely come back. That dill pickle soup again made it all worth it!

Yelp
Had a very bad experience with the banquet center. We booked months ahead for a decent size room with a bar. When we arrived, we were crammed into a very small room. The room was very cold, our guests wore their coats throughout the event. The food was cold, the waitstaff was rude, the women's bathroom was filthy, with water overflowing from a toilet. No banquet management on site to answer questions. Very poor service, we spent the day apologizing to our guests for the bad experience. Would never return and hope people see this as a warning of what to expect.

Yelp
APCC = Good food, Nice environment and Hospitality!!! No thanks to those using Yelp inappropriately to launch misguided ill informed political opinions. I support APCC

Yelp
This place is awesome if you want some authentic polish cuisine . The stuffed cabbage is the best I ever had , and it's mostly because of the tasty sauce. The potato pancakes were also the best I've had , they had a perfect crisp to them.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Meh! The food itself was somewhat tasty but it was absolutely all ice cold. What wasn't cold was definitely microwaved. As we were leaving this restaurant we noticed that there was a Polish market across the street with a Polish buffet we all wished we would've gone there instead. Irena our waitress was absolutely amazing the food was subpar.

Kandice N.

Yelp
Stuffed cabbage, city chicken, pierogies All were delicious. I had the dill soup and my husband had the mushroom soup both were amazing. Staff very friendly! Will be back with family!

Jonathan M.

Yelp
After having gone here for a family dinner, I can say the quality of the food is pleasing along with the decor. Most of us got the Polish platter - an assortment of city chicken, kielbasa, pierogi, etc. Though Polish isn't my preference for food (it was someone else's birthday!), I'd say they nailed it. -1 star for service; even in a sparsely-populated time, our waitress was rather pokey.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Just terrible overall!!! The service was extremely slow and we were there for over an hour! It took 15 minutes just to get our bill and they weren't busy at all. I received my soup before I got my drink that I had to ask twice for. My dinner was cold and they microwaved it (gross) for the price you pay you should receive hot food and better service. I definitely won't be back here. If you want polish food head across the street to polka.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. This is a horrible venue to plan a wedding at. We booked them for our wedding nearly 10 months in advance because we were having a large wedding and didn't have many options. I would recommend looking further if you're having a big wedding and think this is an option. They will ruin your wedding. They were TERRIBLE to get in touch with. They rarely answered the phone and took about two weeks to respond to emails. The week of our wedding, I went to the hall to ask a few questions (because I couldn't get a hold of them) and they were rude to me. The NIGHT OF our wedding, I left our reception crying because of how THE HALL was treating us. Terrible venue. Look elsewhere. I DO NOT recommend this hall.

Eric J.

Yelp
My rating is purely on the restaurant as I've never been to a party at the banquet hall. It wasn't bad; just wasn't great food. Waitress was very nice and suggestive. Everything food wise just seemed mediocre.

Martin S.

Yelp
I have ordered carry out here before, the food is good and reasonable. I am not Polish but I grew up around the Hamtramck area and have tasted authentic polish home cooking and this is pretty good. Definitely filling. My only issue is their recent 2017 paczki sale, the paczkis were not good like the previous year. They were bready, tough as if a day old. It seems they knew about this but still charged $15 a dozen for them. I will definitely look for other sources next year.

Jason D.

Yelp
Food here is great...very close to Hamtramck. However, I got 2 dozen Paczki this year and they were not very good. Tasted stale and at least 1-2 days old. Luckily a co-worker brought in grocery store Paczki to save my Fat Tuesday. Cannot believe the grocery store had better Paczki than the Polish American Cultural Center. I will be finding somewhere else in 2018 on Fat Tuesday.

Yelp
We recently held our school auction at the APCC and we can't say enough about the service we received. We worked with both Tomasz and Anya closely to execute every detail of our event. They were available during every site visit prior to the event to answer any questions and to help us with layout, menu options, etc. The morning of the event, they came early and opened the hall for us to set up our event. Later that night, they followed our program and provided drink and dinner services that worked with our timeline. The food was served hot and our guests were extremely happy. We received a number of compliments on their service and how delicious the food was. Tomasz is an excellent manager and went out of his way to make sure every need was covered. I would highly recommend the APCC for your next event!

Yelp
My husband and I ate at the restaurant part of this place and the food is awesome. We decided to hold our son's birthday here. The price was in our budget with 100 adults and 28 kids. For appetizer we chose potato and cheese pierogis and polish meatballs. We picked the dill soup, house salad, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, city chicken, mashed potato, and green beans. We also decided to use their cheesecake for dessert. Be aware, they charge $0.50 per person for dessert and another extra $0.50 if you bring your own cake. On my invoice I saw a charge and thought it was for having my own cake. One of the owners explained that it was for the cheesecake and not the cake. We had to pay an extra $70 at the end of the event. I would have omit the cheesecake if they had explained this in advance. Our guest loved the food, especially the dill soup and stuffed cabbage. The complaint we had was the dinner service. We were served family style because there was no room for buffet style. There were only 2 people on the floor when the food was being served. I noticed when a couple of tables were almost done eating, some tables had not been served with the main courses and sides. This really upset me. I could tell some of my guest were annoyed, especially the ones with children. I had to delay the main activity which made guest leave before the cake was served. So much cake leftover. I truly recommend buffet style or make sure you have at least 1 server per 2 tables. The bartender was the best. She's the reason I gave this place a 4 stars instead of 3 stars. I wish I could remember her name because you can request employees. Overall, we definitely recommend this place for the price.

A S.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. I am always very optimistic giving different restaurants multiple chances to impress. Although this place somehow reaches a new low every time. Not to mention it feels as if you just set foot into the haunted mansion in Disneyworld. Terribly slow service. And extremely poor customer service. It's as if they don't even care they have zero customers.

April H.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. Our waitress was Maria and she was very friendly and the service was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant for for authentic Polish food.

Amie K.

Yelp
Best polish food ever and from what my family was saying... it wasn't too expensive to host a wedding at either.

Chris M.

Yelp
I like this place. I'm not Polish, but some coworkers took me a while back... the reviews below about slow service are spot-on. Plan on a full hour if it's busy. The soup is good (I had some sort of potato with bean), and the 'elderly' waitstaff are usually pretty quick to re-fill water glasses. It's hilarious when they wheel the old squeaky cart out of the kitchen filled with food; every table is hoping it's their order!! I had a grilled sausage and piroegi platter...very tasty. Others in my group spoke Polish to the waitresses, so they're the real deal! Take an extra 5 minutes and walk around the banquet area...they have a "Polish Sports Hall of Fame" area that is awesome!! Pretty small area (Poles aren't known for their athletic abilities, I guess), but some of the names take you back (Ron Jaworski - The 'Polish Rifle' from Seattle Seahawks has a jersey displayed, etc...) Well worth the trip if you want some home-made bread and Polish style food.

Joe M.

Yelp
Was at a party here a couple days ago. The food is good and was a good place to hold an event. I have been here several times. Each time was fun. I would suggest that if you need to book an event you give them a try.

Trish Anne P.

Yelp
We attended the 58th International Armed Forces event last Friday evening, May 12, 2017, and the food was terrible! The only good experience, (besides the Scottish bag pipe entertainment) was the service. The servers were awesome, courteous and efficient. But the older blond bar-maid was out & out RUDE !!! She bit my head off, when I only asked her a question about opening! We WON'T be back!

John M.

Yelp
best mother day's buffet.....coming may 2015. great food and service.....

Cheryl R.

Yelp
Just got back from getting my paczki's from here...Very disappointed...color to begin with made me shake my head as they were more a golden yellow then deeper brown and after my first bite I felt these may of been made at least a few days ago almost hard... The only reason they did not get a 1 instead of a 2 is because a few years ago they did get it right in being authentic and fresh

Jean C.

Yelp
Even though I'm not polish, I can still say that the food is delicious. Everything I've ever eaten was very, very yummy. However, the service is average, depending on your server. I eat here at least once a month, although usually it's carryout. Would definitely recommend.
