Great night life vibes, a level above clubbing. Nice staff. I'd go with friends, delicious and large assortment of drinks, the appetizers were delicious. The smash burger was ok, not bad but not great. The fries were delicious. Lively night. I recommend a reservation, has security guards and is very busy, loud, hard to have conversation, indoor and outdoor bar, high tops and low tops. Waterview by Waters edge. Parking Garage ticket can be validated if you purchase food (2hr free, $5/hr after the initial 2hrs). I kid you not - the steak fried rice was probably one of my top 5 favorite meals I’ve *EVER* had! Absolutely delicious! Our waitress was so incredibly kind, the margaritas were wonderful, & the environment was so fabulous for a dinner night! As an Oklahoman who grew up on a cattle farm - just want to brag on how amazing the steak was on top of the rice! 😋

My wife and I stopped by to sample the cuisine, especially the seafood. We weren't disappointed at all. We tried the Mahi and shrimp tacos. They were delicious! Our waitress talked me into trying the "Guavanero" wings; we enjoyed them!

We were told we’d love American Social because the food was even better than Jackson’s. I thought, “No way—Jackson’s is great on its own.” But we were thoroughly surprised and couldn’t believe the caliber of food being served at a bar. We were actually there to celebrate a birthday, and at first I didn’t think it would be the ideal place. But the vibe, food, drinks, and service completely changed my mind — it turned out to be the perfect spot for a celebration. Although it was extremely packed due to some type of college football event, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We got lucky with parking, but I’d definitely recommend valet for this area. While I didn’t get pictures of everything, our alcoholic drinks were absolutely delicious — balanced, creative, and refreshing. Every bite of food was perfectly seasoned, thoughtfully paired, and cooked to perfection. For starters: Goat Cheese Croquettes – crisp golden on the outside with warm, creamy goat cheese inside, drizzled with a tangy sauce. Deviled Eggs – velvety and rich with a hint of smoky seasoning. East Coast Oysters – briny, fresh, and chilled just right. Garlic Parmesan Fries – crispy, aromatic, and generously dusted with real parmesan and herbs. Chicken Wings – juicy, flavorful, and perfectly sauced. For entrées: Chicken B.L.A.T. – tender chicken layered with smoky bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato on soft bread with a satisfying crunch. Green Goddess Salmon – flaky, perfectly cooked salmon topped with a vibrant herb sauce. Steak Fried Rice – hearty, savory, and packed with tender bites of steak mixed into flavorful fried rice. Plus a few other dishes we can’t even recall because everything was so memorable and delicious! Our server was extremely attentive and friendly, and being right on the water was the perfect bonus. Highly recommend American Social — it definitely lived up to the hype and made for a fantastic birthday celebration.

Delicious food with good portions for price. Service was a little slow due to how busy it was for the Bucs game. Great place to watch a sporting event. Overall, always a great time at AMSO!

We went on a Saturday night and this placed was packed. We made a reservation. Showed up on time and still had to wait over 20 minutes for the hostess to get help “cleaning” off the table. (They left behind napkins and a used water glass) The music was a vibe but loud and people were all over the place. So if you’re looking for a chill dinner and conversation, I’d think twice. Our server took a while to emerge, but once she did - she was attentive and responsive. The food was okay. Nothing extraordinary, and they’re menus pricey. The portions were large so I guess you get what you pay for in that way. Overall the experience was not terrible, but definitely could be better.

The hype behind American Social is real! Everything was amazing from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Our waiter PJ led me to the Mahi sliders and they did not disappoint! Pj was friendly, prompt, and funny! I will definitely be back !

Came in over the weekend and definitely will return just because of the service provided by Previn. He provided exceptional service and recommended some drinks that were great. 10/10

Hosted my birthday brunch at American Social and had the best time! They made me feel so special with a birthday sign, and our server was incredibly attentive. I had the steak and eggs, which were absolutely delicious! I've been to American Social plenty of times before, and it's always a good experience. I love the vibe and hanging out there more than anything. They do have good drinks too, so no complaints. The only downside I've noticed is that when I stopped in to watch college football on a Saturday, they didn't have the Big Ten Network (at least that's what our server said), so we ended up leaving. For a bar like American Social, I would expect they'd be able to play a college football game.

I wish I could give half stars because American Social is a solid 3.5. The restaurant has a great vibe. It was trendy, modern, and lively. When we went on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., there was music playing and the atmosphere was upbeat. We sat outside with a great view, and the people watching was top tier. I've honestly never seen so much spandex in one place at one time in my life. Our server was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. My friend and I ordered iced teas (some of the best we've had anywhere), and she kept them coming without missing a beat. She even brought us a carafe and extra ice since it was melting fast. The food, however, is why this place lands at 3.5 stars instead of 5. Deviled eggs appetizer: good, but nothing special. The eggs were a little small. Santa Fe Turkey Club: tasted good, but one side of the bread was unevenly sliced, making it awkward to eat. I upgraded to the ranch wedges after the waitress said they were crispy and worth it. They were fine, but not crispy. My friend said they were very salty and couldn't finish the wedge. Chai yogurt (my girl friend's order): total miss. There was less yogurt than what I had in the two tiny complimentary hotel breakfast cups, and the granola came in solid blocks that required some serious chiseling. Chicken Caesar (my friend's order): looked dry and tasted dry. Bottom line was great service and atmosphere, average food. It's a great place to hang out and get drinks at the bar but I wouldn't be back for food.

Despite being known as a nightlife spot, American Social has some great food. I've had good food here on a previous occasion but unfortunately do not remember what I ate. I've had the following recently: Beyond burger: 10/10 Fantastic. The sauce really makes it great. Cooked perfectly. Hummus: 9/10 Hummus is good. Love the toppings. The best part about it was the watermelon radish slices to dip in it. I've never liked radishes but these were great and had the perfect crunch and texture to go with hummus. The pita bread was okay. Garlic broccolini: 7/10 Nothing special. Not a lot of flavor but it was good.

We come here often due to location, views, and food options. We are always happy! From shareables to sandwiches to steaks the food is always delicious as well as the drinks! The lavender martini is wonderful!

This place was great. The food was amazing but pretty pricey But totally worth it. The naughty strawberry was delicious!! and not pictured we had the spinach artichoke dip as an app. As for my entree the server recommended the Maui tacos and wow they were full pf flavor. I love lime and it had the perfect amount of lime juice. Delicious!!! And afterwards we went outside to see the view. Gorgeous. And they had Superbad playing on the projector. Glad I picked this place out - it was a perfect way to start our vacation.

This is a solid place to come for a good time during the weekend. Fun vibes, friendly servers, lots of TVs with lots of football games going, and good views. Food is solid. It's your standard brunch items if you come on the weekend, but portion sizes are solid and is well executed. All in all, a place I would come back to if a bunch of friends wanted to meet up for some solid food and good vibes :)

I took my friend here for her birthday luncheon and we were both blown away with the food, service (our server had worked there for over four years which is a sign of an excellent employer), outdoor ambience, and overall great experience. The menu is unique and delicious. Their regional manager has done a superior job. They surprised my friend with a special birthday honor. Go and enjoy!

We came here as a group of 40 and I ordered the grilled vegetable pizza extra crispy. I got to say that it's probably the best bar pizza I've ever had. Haley was our waitress and she did a fantastic job and was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. They were almost no empty plates at my table.

Fantastic food. We ate here twice while staying right next door. It was great both times. Service was great, and ambiance is super cool. We were super impressed.

This is a great place with beautiful views right on the water. They have indoor and outdoor bars and seating. We've been there for events and the staff is very accommodating. The cocktails are great and the food is exceptional. I cannot wait to go back.

Had a fun girls night out at American Social for happy hour. I finally got to see what the hype was about. We sat outside and got beautiful views of Tampa's Riverwalk. Even at 6pm, it was still so hot and would recommend to sit inside next time, then head outside to enjoy the views. The food was SO good and their passionfruit margaritas were such a hit with us. So refreshing and full of flavor . Our service was outstanding. Our waitress kept checking on us which is a plus for me! I had the crispy truffleshroom burger with truffle fries and I recommend it, if you love mushrooms! So delicious. Definitely a great spot for casual vibes, tasty bites, delicious drinks and a little photo op on the cute green deck area near the water. Parking is free for 2 hours with validation.

Went here on a Tuesday around 5pm. They have a great happy hour from 4-7pm on weekdays. On tuesdays, they also had a taco Tuesday menu with some discounted tacos and additional discounted drinks. The food here is okay. You mainly go here for the views. The server we had was sooo sweet and attentive! She continually checked to see if we needed anything! I will say, this really is not a place you want to go if you are expecting a dinner on a weekend night. Past 7pm it turns into a very loud bar atmosphere so keep that in mind!

My family and I visited AMSO the other night for a late lunch/early dinner and asked for a table on the patio (we brought out dog with us). I was so glad to see that they had such a nice patio and I appreciated how dog friendly this spot was! The menu had a lot of great choices and the cocktail menu was also expansive! Our server was super quick at bringing us water and taking our drink orders. When we were ready to order, she answered questions and made recommendations. I asked for the grilled shrimp tacos and couldn't wait to try them. The cocktails were really good and when the food came out, the tacos were not just grilled to perfection, but extremely flavorful. I was so glad that I ordered them. Just the right amount of food. The location is simply divine as the patio overlooks the water and we could enjoy the sunset while enjoying a cocktail and some food. Pro-tip, if you park in the garage, they will validate your ticket at the hostess station so be sure you bring the packing ticket with you!

10/10 food, drinks, views and service. I wish we could remember our servers name but she was absolutely amazing! Food we got was a spinach artichoke appetizer and split a smash burger. Amazing! Drinks were NA, and yet so refreshing! We can't wait to come back!

Food: Ordered the spinach & artichoke dip, mushroom pappardelle pasta, and crispy truffleshroom burger. The pasta was fantastic, perfect amount of mushroom to sauce to pasta ratio. The burger tasted like a normal burger. The spinach & artichoke dip didn't blow my mind. Drinks: ordered the cucumber fizz and PB&J Old Fashion. The cucumber fizz was a refreshing drink. PB&J Old Fashion was unique (the small PB&J slipped down the stick so by the time it was retrieved, it was already soaked in alcohol.) Ambiance: It was pretty crowded, so I think that's why it was so loud there. It was pretty difficult to hear the person across the table. View of the riverwalk is nice. Service: it would have been nice if they refilled the water but like I said, they were pretty busy which may have contributed to this service.

Went for lunch with two colleagues. Service was good, could have been a little more attentive to refills out in the heat. Shared the goat cheese fritters - those were delicious! All our food was good - I enjoyed my pork belly tacos immensely.

This place (known as AMSO by the locals) was an AMAZING spot for lunch! Out of everything we ordered there wasn't a single bad bite. I ordered the kimchi fried rice with steak and it was INCREDIBLE! My wife had the steak frites with chimichurri and she loved it as well. If we come back to Tampa, this is one spot that we will be coming back to. We also started with the ceviche which was great!

Round 2!! I'm so glad I am able to do a follow up review. It's been awhile since our first visit to American Social Tampa. First time was not so great. However the Area Manager Jason Thompson was so gracious and invited us to come back. So Easter Sunday 2025 was the day. I want to shout out our server Ashley. Amazing. Sweet. Very attentive. Ashley made our time there memorable. She made recommendations. She was patient. Loved it. My drink of choice was the Naughty Margarita. 10 out of 10. And for my entree had the Santa Fe Turkey Club with fries. It was pretty good. My granddaughter had a cheese pizza. She finished it all. She's definitely a fan. Overall the ReDo was good. My husband and I have made plans to return for a date night. Thank you Jason for being so gracious. And thank you Ashley for being an awesome server!!

Burgers were awesome! Fresh pretzel bread was amazing! The service was great! We sat outside on the deck and had the best views. Weather was good this day so it wasn't too humid for us.

I went here because another restaurant I wanted to actually get a salad from was closed for maintenance or construction located right next to it. I am glad I decided to eat here because the salad I had was the bomb! The green goddess dressing was amazing. I ended up getting more! I got the West Coast salmon salad bowl with no quinoa and I got my salmon blackened. I also had a passionfruit margarita which was great! It was very crowded, but I was able to get a seat at the bar and there was a musician playing outside on the patio so it was a great vibe. The bartender was a little slow. I'm going to say because they were Kind of busy and it was happy hour and it was on a Friday but other than that everything was great.

American Social is a cute spot with a great view of the boats and the water! There is an inside dining option, as well as some seating/bar that's outside. The food was pretty standard but they do have a fair variety of menu items to select from! The mac and cheese was yummy but the buffalo fries fell short for me. The ratio was off in terms of meat to fry, as they only gave me a little bit. The cocktail I had was also just ok! The pull to come back to American Social would definitely be the view for me!

If your downtown Tampa you can miss on visiting the American social. I visited while at night and it was so lively. Great live music and great restaurant service from the staff. The food was so good. I had the smash burger with a side salad. The burger was juicy and not dry and salads tasty. We also tried their fries which I love they were wedge fries instead of horse fries. The dip mad it extra spicy. I will say going here at night would be the best to enjoy the live music and the views of the water and the view of the city. You can't miss it

Celebrating my birthday and we stopped in for a sunset drink . We seat outside , waterfront with a refreshing Gold Rush drink. We tried the shrimp ceviche and it was decent but the drinks were better. Our server , Devin was cool and recommended another spot for the evening.

The American social in Tampa will always be one of my favorites! From the beautiful views, to the freshly made burgers, they will always be number one on my list for places to go to when I'm in town. I am someone who absolutely loves toppings on my burgers, from lettuce to pickles to onions to tomatoes, etc. you can never go wrong with extra toppings! BUT American social has changed the game for me. Their Smashburger's come with a fresh juicy patty, caramelized, onions, and cheese. That's it! It also comes on a pretzel bun and that bun tastes and feels like a pillowy soft cloud! By far the best burger I have ever had! I also ordered the side of spicy ranch wedges, and they compliment the burger so well. Now, I have tried other things on the menu, but I always end up feeling disappointed. Their smash burger never disappoints and hits every single time haha! Can't wait to come back!

Our crew from Wakesurf Tampa had such an awesome experience at American Social! This was our second time hosting a private event on the outdoor VIP patio, and both times have been amazing. Nicole made the setup super easy, and Lexi took such great care of us the day of the event. The food was delicious, the service was on point, and the whole vibe was perfect for our group. We'll definitely be back -- already looking forward to our next Wakesurf Tampa event there!

Came here for my company's holiday party. This makes the second year we've come here. It's a great area with a beautiful view of the water. Parking is available in the garage below level. Always a nice setup. Food is ok -- nothing to rave about and is typically buffet style for our event. They did serve some apps to include artichoke dip and wings. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Was not impressed. The ambiance was very engaging and entertaining! They had a Dj on the inside which played great house music, loved it! The service was good and our waitress did share her recommendations. The food was not good, I ordered the Grilled Tuscan Chicken Sandwich and the chicken was not seasoned very bland and the topping weren't tasteful. The Chicken BLAT the same, and the fries on the side were very hard clearly not fresh. The food was disappointing. I would recommend this spot to watch sports and for happy hour with friends thats about it.

I visit Tampa yearly and wanted to try something on the river front, I landed at American Social. The service was initially a bit slow after the hostess sat me. I had to walk to the bar to ask them who served my table. Once I did that service was better. Seems like a good place for groups but it is not a mixed crowd at all. I wanted a bit more diversity I ordered a Rhiskey Passion and fries and read my book. I enjoyed both items. The place was somewhat loud but not so bad that I couldn't read. I would recommend this place for a future visit.

American Social is popular for a reason. It's got one of the best waterfront views in Tampa, and while the parking situation can be... character-building, trust me--it's all worth it once you sit down. Great food, great service. I ordered the Brunch in the Keys and it might go down as one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. A perfectly crisp Key West pink shrimp cake topped with a poached egg, drizzled in green goddess and hollandaise, and finished with fresh cilantro--every bite was balanced, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. If this were my last meal, I'd be happy. Brunch at American Social is too good not to enjoy every bite.

First time here and it didn't disappoint! Great service by everyone which always makes for a good experience. Started with a Bloody Mary and it was fantastic. Balanced. Perfect. Shared a Key West shrimp cake and it was really good. I am not a crab cake type style fan but this was awesome. Sauce was really tasty too. For dinner I had the Steak Frites which was maybe the best of the night. The steak super tender, cooked to a perfect medium. My beautiful date wanted to try something different and new to us. She ordered the Steak fried rice with homemade kimchi and an over medium egg. She chose to have the crispy hot sauce on the side. In all honesty, it didn't need the sauce because the steak, egg and rice was really good on its own. Maybe an extra egg for a little more yolk but this is really nitpicking. I had a PB&J old fashioned to wash that down with and it was also just as good. It even had a mini PB&J on top! Many times a downtown upscale place is lacking in some form. Not here. Felt the pricing was good for the location and really enjoyed the meal and the view.

Two female coworkers reunited (after one's retirement) to catch up over brunch on a gorgeous Sunday morning in Tampa. PJ was our server and he was outstanding! Extremely kind & attentive and wonderful with suggestions and follow through. We loved our food and drinks... I even spilled my Mojito and PJ got me another one. Will definitely be back.

My team's experience at American Social was phenomenal! This was our second time hosting a private event on the outdoor VIP patio and we have absolutely loved both experiences! Working with Nicole to get the event set up was simple and seamless, and Lexi was very kind and attentive on the day of our event! The food was great, service was incredible, I highly recommend! We are already looking forward to setting up our next event!

A very busy Friday night! The drinks, especially the lemon drop martini, were very good! It was the consistency of a slushy. The bartenders held their own while being slammed with orders. The bathrooms are night and clean and there is a nice etiquette here. The waterfront is soo relaxing when you want to take a break from the loud and noisy bar/club vibe. Really enjoy the upstairs and downstairs vibes. The tequila shots were also pretty smooth. I would come back with my friends absolutely.

American Social is a place to drink and hang out at the bar and not eat in my opinion. All of our food was ok, but nothing outstanding. None of our plates were ever cleared so we spent most of the night with old food sitting on the table. Great choice if you want to come get drinks and sit at the bar, but skip the food and sit down dinner here.

We were sat right away on the patio with a nice view of the Riverwalk. Our server was on top of it with refilling waters, especially helpful on a hot day, and checked in on us often. The blood mary was excellent, bacon garnish is always a nice touch. Steak fried rice was delicious with a little bit of heat, though the pieces of steak could have been sliced thinner for a more tender bite. Spicy ranch potato wedges are a must try side. We even got a visit from the manager Alex, who was very friendly and made sure we had the best experience possible! Overall a great, trendy place for a fun brunch or a nice dinner out, would definitely go back!

Was walking by and saw the outside patio was packed decided to have dinner here while in town. I ordered the Crispy Goat Cheese Salad and the Guavanero wings! It was absolutely delicious , the wings were spicy and sweet and covered in a slaw. I would definitely return ! The server was friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed

We arrived at 5pm, no reservations, but were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait. At 6:30 we have we checked to see the status of our table and told we were 2nd up. At 7:15, checked on our reservation again and again told we were 2nd up. Asked the host how much longer it would be because we have seen several people sat since we last checked and she said we should probably try for bar seats. She said everyone that has been seated since had reservations. I asked if they are only seating reservations and she said yes. I said that would've been nice to know. After 3 plus hours of waiting, we left!

Great place located with water views & a large outdoor area including a few bars. Happy hour drink prices were great with quality alcohol. We grazed on the guavanero wings (yum!), brussel sprouts (unique way of preparing them), & delish deviled eggs. Service was excellent! Definitely check this place out! It's always nice to spend some time in American Social with friends. We made a quick stop to take some shots before continuing walking through Tampa and was so nice sit, talk for a little bit and enjoy the vibe.

Went to try the sushi that was recommended to me in the bar only to find out there was no sushi lol. Burn on me. The bartender looked just like Kelsey plum, the goat cheese salad was excellent and had I not been exhausted I would have stayed later

It was the perfect day with the perfect weather to have a Sunday brunch at American Social! The vibe outside was perfect! Our service was super good and they were very attentive. The food was tasty we loved the dip!

Enjoyed the scenery and atmosphere here. Servers and food runners were polite and accommodating. We enjoyed our meals and the drinks were fairly priced and tasty. Menu was fairly average. Nothing stood out too much to be super excited to try.

Great experience for our first time being here. Food was top notch and tasted like it had fresh ingredients. Our service was great and prompt at all times. The entree size was a bit small for the price but it makes sense on the area. It was clean and there are lot of TVs to watch any games that are playing. It was loud outside with music, but I was glad the reservation was inside. Definitely a good spot for someone visiting the city!
