Quite good classic Italian cuisine, well executed, and excellent service (a good sign: waitstaff were all Italians!). It's location in Cabot Square of the Canary Wharf area borders the water (former dockyards - but clean and picturesque now) and on this balmy Thursday night, the restaurant was hopping with the after-work crowd, downing convivial and reviving aperitifs at the outside tables.
We decided to go all out with antipasti, primi, and secondi. We shared antipasti of mixed cured meats (always good - who can say no to a platter of prosciutto and parmigiano?); a terrific tender-crisp calamari; and a nice ripe Caprese salad. For the pastas, we had: A spaghetti in beef ragu which was rich and meaty and perfectly al dente (after our collective sighs, this was also the best in our collective opinions); a very satisfying tortellini in mushroom cream sauce (second best!); and a very good spaghetti with tomato cream sauce and lobster (third best - but really, all were excellent!). For secondi, we had: A fine veal saltimbocca, pan-seared branzino, and oven-roasted chicken with wild mushrooms. All delicious, best to us was the saltimbocca. On the downside, however, we were sadly too full to partake of any dessert and we waddled out of there replete and happy, and glad to stroll (or roll?) slowly along the wharves.
