Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort

We have just returned from 9 days at this beautiful hotel. Having noted some mixed reviews we weren't entirely sure what to expect but our experience was entirely positive. The location is stunning and a short 10 minute walk along a very pretty seafront walk into the bustle of Hvar town. The pool is exceptionally large with well established trees all around and on islands within it. It's spotlessly clean as is the hotel. We had two rooms for our family (sea facing) and both had what appeared to be recently refitted bathrooms with large walk in showers (good water pressure and temperature). Extra large and comfy bed. Our air con worked fine too! Our room also had plenty of storage which has been a rarity on our numerous travels. We found all the staff we met throughout our stay to be polite and friendly. The buffet breakfast was tasty, fresh, varied and plentiful. The view from the restaurant is a stunning panorama over to the Pakleni Islands. Without doubt this hotel was a pleasure to stay in. We would happily return and have no hesitation in recommending it.

We had an amazing time at Amfora. The location is unbeatable—right by the water and only about a 10-minute walk to the main part of Hvar town. The pool area is huge and absolutely beautiful, and we spent hours just relaxing there. Our room was comfortable and had a balcony with a great view of the sea. Breakfast every morning had a ton of options and everything was fresh. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk. We also loved hanging out at the beach club—it’s a bit upscale but worth it for the views and vibe. Definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed in Croatia. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

I stayed at Hotel Amfora for three days during my Europe holiday, and it was by far the best hotel I’ve experienced, not just in Europe, but anywhere in the world. The location is unbeatable, with countless amenities and everything you could need within easy walking distance. The bar offered great food and service, the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The lobby was clean, spacious, and had a modern, welcoming feel. The pool area was fantastic, with plenty of sun beds and an excellent food and drinks menu. Just a 1–2 minute walk from the hotel is a stunning beach with hotel-managed sun beds, absolutely beautiful. I’m already planning to return here for my honeymoon. Hotel Amfora offers breathtaking views, outstanding service, and a truly memorable stay.

We stayed here for 7 nights and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job. All the staff members were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was large and delicious with a wide variety to choose from, and the dinner buffet was excellent, offering many flavorful dishes. The only downside was that the blackout curtains didn’t fully cover the windows and weren’t thick enough to block out the light completely, which affected the sleep quality a little bit. Other than that, we highly recommend this place and would gladly come back!

We arrived yesterday and we were greeted by Merissa who went out of her way for dinner for us. She was lovely And knowledgeable… We’ve had lunch two days in a row with the server Nikola and he was so welcoming and knew the menu of drinks and food inside out. He provided us with great service. The bellman Stefan was also fantastic he knew the property inside out. If you eat at The restaurant by the window make sure sanja serves you the most amazing welcoming!!!!! She serves with her heart. And the hostess was amazing also make sure to get your cappuccino made by Ivan !!!

This my family’s second time here at the resort. It is a stunning resort that caters to a variety of people. The location is absolutely perfect. There is a beach right in front of the resort and it is a very short and pleasant walk into Hvar town. The promenade is right out front of the resort and it will take you wherever you need to go. The rooms themselves are modern and clean and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast is second to none. It’s so hard to leave this place!

We had a wonderful stay overall, and our experience at the pool restaurant excellent —our server Noa was absolutely fantastic: friendly, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, and the hotel location couldn't be better. The property offers stunning views, and the beach is just steps away, with the charming town within easy walking distance. The shared grounds are well maintained, and the pool is perfect for families with kids. That said, the guest rooms could use some attention. Ours felt a bit worn and could benefit from a fresh coat of paint or a deep clean, particularly in the bathroom. We also encountered ants in the room, including on the beds, which was a concern. The fridge wasn’t functioning, and there was no in-room safe to store valuables, which was surprising. Additionally, the shower had low water pressure and poor drainage, causing water to spill into the rest of the bathroom. Despite these issues, we truly enjoyed our time here. The breakfast was excellent, and both the cleaning and pool bar staff were consistently kind and helpful. With a few updates to the rooms, this would be an outstanding place to stay. We hope management considers these improvements for future guests.

Our family had the most unforgettable holiday in Hvar, staying at the beautiful Amfora Hotel. It truly felt like a slice of paradise—especially for our kids, who spent hours every day enjoying the waterslide, splashing in the children’s pool, and playing with the water fountains.||The location is ideal: the beach is just a two-minute walk away, and the newly built playground is only a three-minute stroll. The hotel also boasts what is, without a doubt, the best view in town.||One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible service. My husband commented that he had never experienced such friendly, professional, and attentive service from hotel staff anywhere in the world. Every single team member we encountered made our stay exceptional.||A special thank you to Maria, who manages breakfast—she welcomed us warmly each morning, helped with our kids, and made sure we were always well taken care of. Miladin brought us water and juice daily with a smile and lovely conversation, while Angela and the rest of the breakfast team were equally kind and helpful.||The breakfast buffet was the best we’ve had at any hotel worldwide—something for everyone, fresh and delicious. And a special mention must go to Tonka, who made the most perfect omelets!||We also loved the dinner buffet, which quickly became a family favorite—we dined there every evening. The variety and quality of food were outstanding, offering many tasty and healthy options. Children up to a certain age eat free, which was a wonderful bonus. Marko, the dinner manager and Sanja were always warm, welcoming and very helpful. ||Service throughout the hotel was consistently top-notch—from the Lobby Bar, Cascade Pool team, concierge and luggage service, to the reception staff—everyone was amazing. The food at the hotel restaurants was simply exquisite.||Our room was spacious, stylish, and modern, with a breathtaking view. Even the hotel director took time to personally greet guests and ensure everything was perfect. That level of hospitality truly stood out.||It was a privilege to be looked after by such a talented, passionate, and genuinely friendly team. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories.||Highly recommended – Amfora is hands down the best place to stay in Hvar!
