"Denim American Bistro is a new restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with a denim theme. The restaurant is located at 312 Kresson Road in a historic house dating back to the 1850s. Chef-owner David Murray offers an American menu featuring dishes like butternut squash gnocchi and crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon. The restaurant is BYOB, though it sells wines by the bottle from White Horse Winery. It has four rooms seating nearly 90 people and an outdoor patio. The decor includes blue walls, blue napkins, fabric roses, and denim-themed artwork by Ian Berry. Denim American Bistro is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, and also offers a buffet-style Sunday brunch. Diners can order a la carte or choose from prix fixe and tasting menus. WOW! Authentic Italian at its best! Great place for casual dining or a special event. We came as a large party of 11 for a special birthday celebration and it was amazing! When we walked in on a Thursday evening the whole restaurant was humming and live music was playing! We opted to be seated upstairs which was intimate and perfect for a large group. They have a bathroom upstairs! The experience was divine from the minute we stepped in until our last bite of dessert! Hot fresh food and impeccable service! 3 generations in one table and everyone was satisfied! From the sizzling ribeye special to the kids chicken fingers we wouldn’t change a thing! Steak was cooked perfectly and pasta was fresh. Lots of warm bread! What a gem. The tartufo, crème brûlée, and ice cream was amazing!! I see awesome outdoor seating and can’t wait to return in the Spring!

The service was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and quick without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for a night out with friends. The highlight of the meal was definitely the seafood—it was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. And the tiramisu? Absolutely the best we’ve ever had—light, creamy, and bursting with flavor. If you’re looking for a top-notch Italian restaurant with great food and a welcoming vibe, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Google
Great atmosphere and fantastic food. I enjoyed sitting on the patio, taking in the nice weather and the sound of the waterfall. The service was good, with attentive staff, and the owner even stopped by to check on us.

Google
This place was absolutely amazing! The steak was off the chain The service was unmatched! i cannot say enough about they whole staff! it was a perfect place to catch up with family!

My father is a "retired" jazz vocalist...I say retired because, not really and whenever he comes to visit there is no other place for him to dine. The service is top tier and the food is chef's kiss!!! I mean no better steak anywhere! The musical entertainment couldn't have been better selected. If you are in the mood food great food with great service in an AMAZING ATMOSPHERE, look NO FURTHER folks this is it!

Stopped in for lunch. First time here. The food was fantastic! Wonderful choices and everything was incredibly fresh! French onion soup is my favorite, and they made it beautifully. The steak came out sizzling on the cast iron plate. Will definitely be back!

We also had party of 12 for my MIL birthday dinner. Everyone was incredibly happy with their meals. Eggplant roll it’s I appetizer was phenomenal & vodka chicken parm was excellent.

Yelp
Best (French) Onion Soup we've ever had. The wife and kid are onion soup fanatics; and they can't stop raving about it. Any time we pass within 30 minutes of this place, we stop by. The other food is just as great. Absolutely phenomenal restaurant. Filet, to die for. Pasta, delicious. Quiet music and atmosphere and great service as well.

Yelp
This is my husbands and mine go to place especially for special occasions. We love dining on the porch. Everything is so fresh and the atmosphere is amazing! The portions are pretty big so we always end up taking some of it home. The staff is very friendly and are on top of everything making sure we have water at all times and that everything is to our liking. The French onion soup for starters is our favorite. I absolutely love the little neck clams as well. My husband loves the Lobster Ravioli. Not sure what more I can say. We love Amici's! We highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed!

Mike A.

Yelp
We just recently had a wonderful luncheon at Amici's! Both the ravioli and gnocchi were delightful appetizers - large portions, the sauce was well seasoned, and the cheese was great. While all of the desserts were , the chocolate gelato takes the cake! It was creamy, smooth, and richly flavored. The service was both fast and friendly, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting. Overall all of our friends who'd dined at Amici's before said they weren't surprised that this meal was just as great (if not better) than their previous experiences! Certainly recommend for a great Italian meal!

Helga Z.

Yelp
If you're craving delicious Italian food, look no further! We took our party of 20 and left with happy hearts and happier stomachs. The appetizers were simply Chef's kiss! Carefully curated and beautifully presented. The real showstoppers were the desserts. The tiramisu was an absolute dream. The service was also top-notch! Our servers were lovely and maintained a positive attitude, despite us being there for too long of a time. They handled everything with a smile. If you're planning a big night out, this spot is a must. Unbeatable Italian food and heavenly desserts. Will def be back!

Sheila M.

Yelp
Food was ok, service was... we were put " outside" that wasn't too bad, but I think they only had 1 waiter out there and it was crowded. When the waiter finally got to us, we tried to order apps, but he said he only takes full orders and freaking left! Didn't even ask if we were ready to order! When the waiter FINALLY came back to take our order, he then tells us the specials but with no prices. All in all it was just ok, not sure if I would go back. Maybe

Maryanne V.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is amazing and they give the highest level of service. We just had my daughter's baby shower there and all the guests raved about the place. Most were from north Jersey, but commented that they wish it was closer because they would be regulars. I have also been there for dinner and food and service were exceptional as well. I highly recommend!!

Dolores A.

Yelp
Beautiful intimate lunch spot! We enjoyed our salads and the fresh hot bread offering, complete with seasoned oil. We absolutely loved the seafood salad, one of the best appetizers!Absolutely delicious flavors lingered in my mouth, as it was so fresh & very well seasoned. Our entrees, Pappardelle Amici & Chicken Piccata were OUTSTANDING!! The flavors of the individual components are so distinct and clean. We topped off our meal with the tiramisu cake... Get it!!! Gio, Donnell & another young man gave us friendly good service. Thank you all for a fantastic experience! Hats off to the very talented chef!

Steve H.

Yelp
Pleasant environment for dining, nice interior. This is a byob, so focus is on the food. Food was good, but does not hold up to an Il Fiore or Bistro di Marino in Collingswood. One of the hot apps was served cold, never came back to ask how they were, had to flagged them down. My fish was fair. Saltimbocca was not traditional, perhaps the menu stated this and we missed it. One thing I did not like was a surprise 3% charge for using my credit card. Watch out folks! Needless to say, I will not be back with so many selections local.

Chelle L.

Yelp
We were a party of 15. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special and welcome. The food was very good and there were many delicious sounding choices on the menu. Several of our party are vegan and they enjoyed their meals as well. The main dining room is very pretty. The outside dining was booked by a large party and that is very lovely as well. You will enjoy this BYOB restaurant!!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
My husband an I were in the area. Decided to stop in for a bite to eat. Staff and food were great! We will be back again !

Ed B.

Yelp
My wife and I ate dinner here last night. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing. My wifes fig salad was great. Her dover sole and my veil was outstandingly. Also the finally was desert which also was great.

Yelp
Waiting to come here for a while. Wife and I decided to go for lunch for out 11th wedding anniversary lunch, we have two young kids so it's hard for dinner. I was able to make a 12 o'clock lunch reservation on a Friday although when we go there it didn't seem necessary. Also tried to move the reservation to 1130 but they didn't allow it even though they were open. It was a nice day so we decided to eat outside. There was a very pleasant view, a fountain in the back, nice garden area which blocked the street. We ordered the meat and cheese plate. That was superb it was quite a variety for the value, would definitely recommend it. I ordered the pork chops and was able to replace with spinach as a side while my wife ordered the pasta. The pork chops were a little on the salty side but still delicious but I think we were full from the bread and cheese. The dessert was okay I had creme brulee and the wife got the tiramisu. I would definitely come back. I see a lot of things on the dinner menu that I would've enjoyed for lunch, maybe next time.

Dany B.

Yelp
I recently went with a large group. I need a gluten free meal and I was told they can make any meal gluten free. I ordered the "gluten free" Chicken Parmesan. When the waiter brought my meal he assured me this was gluten free. A few hours later I was very sick. The next day I spoke to Alex, the manager. I told him about my reaction to what was clearly not safe for me to eat. He was very cold and said the meal was made to my specifications and was gluten free. I said it made me very sick. He said it was made to my specifications and was gluten free. No responsibility was taken for serving something that was not safe for me to eat. I said thank you and goodbye and he said goodbye. If you need a gluten free meal this is not the place that will be safe for you.

Yelp
October 17, 2024 Amici restaurant in Cherry Hill. A very Rude owner. We have been regular customers at this establishment and have always enjoyed our visits. Yesterday, we hosted our annual club dinner there. As we did last year, we booked the event months in advance and requested the usual option include cappuccino for those who wanted it, at no extra charge. However, when we received the bill, there was an additional charge of $50 for the cappuccinos. I informed the waiter that we had confirmed twice that this was included in our arrangement. The waiter mentioned that the owner disagreed. I approached the owner to discuss the issue, but I found him to be extremely rude. His dismissive tone was unlike anything I have ever experienced in a business setting. It felt as though he was judging me based on my skin color, which added an unpleasant note to an otherwise festive evening. We chose not to escalate the matter further or respond in kind, and we paid the full bill, including the additional charge for cappuccino. I am writing this to warn potential customers about the owner's behavior. We have decided to boycott Amici until the owner publicly apologizes for his unprofessional demeanor and donates the extra charge to a charity of his choice for a humanitarian cause.

Yelp
The place has changed hands before Amici's. This is probably the best it has been in a long time. Amici's had a great menu and the food was very fresh and delicious.

Suzy B.

Yelp
outstanding restaurant! its a beautiful restaurant. the food is always fresh and perfectly cooked and the service is excellent .

Ilene S.

Yelp
First time at the new location. They did a great job re-decorating the building ; however, it was so open and full that it was very loud making it hard to hear the table Conversation. Service was accommodating but fair. Salads were good. The onion soup was a big disappointment. I felt it lacked flavor, lacked depth that you would except from onion soup. Meals were good no complaints but nothing to rave over.

Sheila H.

Yelp
It was our first time here. We were seated outside. I had the Amici salad as an appetizer and my husband had the sausage & broccoli Rabe with white beans. His appetizer could easily serve 2 people. I had the pasta seafood special with shrimp, crab & 1/2 a lobster over GF pasta. It was supposed to come over homemade tagliatelle, but I'm gluten sensitive. My husband had the pork chop milanese. He said it was one of the best he's ever had. We had leftovers of everything except the salad. Service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. We'll be back!

Deborah J.

Yelp
This new location is very nice. During nicer weather the patio surrounding by a beautiful garden is lovely. My husband and I were driving by and decided to come in for the $22 lunch. We ate inside this time and had great service. We started with the Amici salad and the blend of ingredients were delicious. I had the chicken piccata and my husband the bolognese. Both entrees were extremely good. Sorry I didn't capture any pictures but trust me the food is great! I've dined here on several occasions and intend to keep spending money here!

Lee M.

Yelp
Visited during a beautiful evening. Newly renovated and with a lovely interior. We needed reservations since weekends were fully booked. I loved my burrata and prosciutto salad while my husband's Caesar salad was just as tasty. My seafood linguine was delicious and the chicken parmigiana was tender. The sauce was just a tad heavy. We split the death by chocolate dessert and no crumbs were left. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. Like many other restaurants, they were short of wait staff which resulted in a wait for being seated and delays in service. The staff did their best and we, as customers, chose to adjust our attitudes to enjoy our leisurely meal. We witnessed some snarky behavior from grumpy customers - no need to take it out on the staff who were there. We'll be returning again.

Megan W.

Yelp
I want to like Amici. I've dined here 3-4 times and while the ambiance and service have been acceptable, it seems like the food is mass produced. The feeling I get is they take a sheet pan of plain, unseasoned chicken cutlets and change which sauce they pour over it when it's plated. I say this because everyone who got a chicken dish at our table felt the same way. It seems like it lacks depth and corners are being cut. I have enjoyed my experiences for the most part so I won't completely write them off if a friend wants to go there, but I won't be making my own reservation here.

Al G.

Yelp
food is amazing!!!! you also get bread when you sit down. music was authentic, heard some of my favorite songs. service wasn't the best, had to keep looking for a waiter, they are professional though. they don't bother you, not the typical American experience, not very engaging. intimate experience

Maria D.

Yelp
Great spot for a group event. We hosted a baby shower luncheon for 40 people here. The food was excellent: fresh, high-quality ingredients and delicious. Everything came out on on time, hot, and tasted made-to-order. Portions were generous. The service was great. They were very responsive to our requests. The planning was well-managed as well. Looking forward to eating dinner here soon.

Frank M.

Yelp
Not a fan. Got seated outside which wasn't an option when I made reservations. Crab cake appetizer was very good main entree was just ok. Fieni's is a much better option.

Andrew M.

Yelp
The restaurant is a neighborhood gem in the past and lost its glamour. We sat in an upstairs room with three large tables accommodating more than 6-10 per table. We were a table of 6 and were accompanied by two tables of 10 around usual. One table were the most loud obnoxious people Who made the evening intolerable and didn't recognize life extends beyond their selfish loudness Benny the server was a gentle nice young man Good was average to poor featuring overdone calamari with a spicy marinara and over drenched Caesar salad Entrees of low aptitude were a poorly prepared Dover sole which was flavorless despite four red grapes in a lemon sauce absolutely boring Salmon was fair and branzino was also fair at best The veal parmigiana was an overbreaddf elephant ear prep that looked inedible What was a true highlight were the choices for dessert all undoubtedly not made there but still wonderful choices including a Moist tiramisu well drenched in coffee and a 10 Overall a poor experience Never again

Chris E.

Yelp
If you want a good italian american dinner this is your place. The food is decent. It was unfortunate that they didn't have certain things on the menu. I don't remember the last time I ordered a pork chop but I recommend it for everyone. Service was excellent. The ambiance outside was great but inside was very quiet.

John T.

Yelp
We went to Amici on recommendation from a friend. Insofar as the food experience, the food is second to none. Prepared well, very tasty. From a value perspective, I paid exactly what I thought I should pay for a meal of this caliber. There are three ambiance issues that moved the overall score from a "five" to a "four". One, the table are jammed in and I felt very cramped, particularly at a two seat table literally next to a pole and in the center of the room. Two, the room is loud. The low ceiling and other acoustics amplify conversations from each table and make it very difficult to hear. Three, the room lacks charm, which, given the feel the place is going for, just doesn't make much sense. If you are looking for some great food in the area, this is definitely a wonderful spot. For charm and quiet, at least on a Saturday night, this may not be your place.

Lucy B.

Yelp
excellent! Our staff was great! Very helpful, kind, efficient, and were hands on with accommodations when unexpected guests showed up.The food was superb chocolate mousse was the best. thank you all.

Bob I.

Yelp
5/27/23 Saturday night was Our first time eating here. BYOB, we dont drink but thought it was worth mentioning. I rode by a few weeks prior, always wanting to try something new I suggested to my wife. Inside and outside Appearance is upscale. The only complaints we have would be regarding the seating, as we felt cramped in a 2 seat table up against a column in the middle of the restaurant. Also, while the Waitstaff were dressed and acted professionally, it would have been nice if they were more attentive to see if we needed a refill on our beverages, and check back with us after our entrees were served to see if all came out to our liking. We had a "Meat and Cheese Board" appetizer that was really good. Consisted of fruit, nuts, meats, bruschetta, cheese and olives. My bride had the Chicken Carciofi and I had the spaghetti Pasitano. Both were good, but nothing to write home about. Afterwards we had a slice of strawberry layer cake, Coffee and a Cappuccino (cappuccino was very good).

William W.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time on New Year's Eve. Food was good but not very kid friendly. My grandson who is 4 years old had the chicken fingers and fries for $25, ok I understood it's a holiday price fix menu. But the kicker was for dessert there were 4 choices, no sorbet, no ice cream nothing a child would like. So we asked the waiter if they could put a little whip cream in a bowl for my grandson and he said sure. He brought out a small bowl of whip cream with a little chocolate syrup. So after we all received desserts we felt like we were being rushed out, which once again it was a holiday and people were waiting to be seated. I gave the waiter my credit card for the check and when we left I realized we were charged $9 for a small bowl of whip cream. So $34 for a kid's meal with whip cream. So beware, sorry we won't be returning.

Renee H.

Yelp
Recently had an excellent baby sprinkle at this BYOB. Could not have asked for a better shower! All guests enjoyed fantastic food and service at this afternoon party. The family style appetizers were outstanding and could be considered a meal. Surprisingly, they were considered party of the lunch. The staff of servers were excellent. The superb food was ordered and served promptly, as well as the desserts. The attention to guests at the shower made this a five star event. The outside grounds are well maintained and look lovely. As well as the ambiance of the restaurant. Many guests live in the area and said they would definitely come back to this gem in Cherry Hill.

Donna V.

Yelp
Just attended a baby shower in the back patio space. Beautiful room prepared for any weather with heaters and removable walls. The staff was pleasant and very attentive. The food was amazing. Great selection from the catering menu selected by the baby shower host. Food was fresh, generous portions and artfully presented. This is a perfect space and place for a special event.

Gledis H.

Yelp
The service was great and food delicious. Great atmosphere indoors and out. The valet parking was a great plus.

Kay L.

Yelp
Service was great for our party of 9. Has the eggplant roll-up and loved it. Thank you. We enjoyed celebrating a college graduation here.

L D.

Yelp
Great food and service I when there with my family party of 4 Food and service was great Beautiful Restaurant beautiful Patio

Mike L.

Yelp
Service , food , atmosphere were all fantastic. Valet is a huge plus on a biter cold night. Highly recommend.

Steve J.

Yelp
First time at Amici in Cherry Hill. The remodel of the last restaurant (Denim) is amazing. There are no more rooms, just one big room. They also have outdoor seating. The service was good. A bit leisurely at times but overall it was good. The food was very good. The different sauces were all tasty in their own way and none of the meals were super heavy. Everything was light and flavorful. From the tender veal, to the chicken, to the homemade lobster ravioli, no complaints. The desserts were good as well.

M G.

Yelp
The food there is always tasty and they have great specials. Staff is always pleasant and the atmosphere is nice. Never disappointed when we go.

Micki C.

Yelp
My friends and I had a reservation and we were put outside in the tent. Very cold , even the waiter said how cold it was. When the waiter came to give us bread and oil, he dropped it all ove the steps. He took our order after he tried to wipe it up ( very poorly ). We finally got our meal. Mine was pappardelle with vodka sauce and the other people got a seafood and spaghetti. One was chicken parm. And a steak My pappardelle was stuck together in a clump Chicken parm was like rubber, seafood spaghetti there was barely seafood on it. One of the people got up to fine our waiter and slipped on the step and fell back and hit the back of her head. They came asked if they could assist her in getting up. She declined. But , just walked away. Never gratis her her meal or apologized for the incident. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT OR WILL EVERY GO BACK.

Tara D.

Yelp
Service was lousy, never got bread for the table. The waiter was awful no personality and never asked if we needed anything. Surf and turf dinner and the lobster came out burnt and stuck in the shell. I asked him to take it back which he gave me a dirty look for. I will note the filet was fabulous, potatoes and spinach very good. Chicken Amici had no taste and was small in portion. Calamari was fabulous and portion was great! Overall very good but the service and waiter was not.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
We were started with a nice fresh bread basket and ordered the calamari and a soft shell crab appetizer. The calamari was fried to the perfect golden brown served with a nice marinara sauce and the soft shell crab over salad was also very good. For my entree I had the Penne Con Salmon which was a nice penne vodka topped with diced salmon. The sauce was very flavorful and the salmon was very good also. We also ordered a Veal dish with assorted vegetables that was very fresh and delicious as well. We ended our meal with a wonderful tartufo dessert topped with chocolate and some cappuccinos. The service was excellent and the Owner Alex was a wonderful host... Highly recommend...

Rich R.

Yelp
Had dinner at their new location. Very nice, clean place, including the rest rooms, and plenty of parking including valet. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The place was absolutely packed and servers were literally running around and into each other. They could not fit another table in the jammed dining room, unlike their website pics. Lots of parties and very loud. Food, although standard fare and plentiful, lacked any depth of flavor, and rather bland. The octopus app had three tough pieces and a large amount of arugola with tasteless dressing. The bread was cold and nothing special. Not a "relaxing eperience". We paid our check and left without trying the amazing-looking desserts. Our attentive server admitted it is crazy-busy like this every day for lunch and dinner. Hey, they must be doing something right, it was just not our style.was

Michael C.

Yelp
This time I went it was packed on a Saturday night. The bread and olive oil to start was incredible. The waiter took down our meals within 5 minutes and it was served about 12 minutes later. I've never seen such fast service anywhere, let alone on a Saturday night. The food was cooked to perfection too. I have no idea why this place isn't rated 5 stars.

Dennis M.

Yelp
Wow!! Great food and excellent service! Our wait staff did an excellent job taking care of our table. Reasonable priced menu and BYOB. Desserts were yummy. Well worth the visit. I certainly will be back. Thank you!!

Valerie C.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and service was excellent. Long hots for our appetizer were tasty. Salad was good. My husband loved his minestrone soup. He ordered gnocchi with a basil pesto sauce, he said it was just ok. My shrimp scampi wasn't flavorful at all. I was totally disappointed, even salt and pepper wouldn't help. My husband said his key lime pie was the best he's ever had. I will go again to try something different.

Lynne A.

Yelp
Early dinner on a Saturday evening. My husbands Appetizer, and both of our entrees (scampi & seafood extravaganza) - were VERY bland and flavorless. Very disappointing. Our service was great. I don't mind paying $30-$40 or more for pasta entrees but not for these dishes. Seriously lacking...sad.

Christine M.

Yelp
Picked this place because all of the reviews seemed to rave about this place and how delicious it was. We got the calamari, buffalo mozzarella, and an orange + beet salad as an appetizer. Calamari was very chewy but both other apps were fantastic. I got a scallop and shrimp pasta special they had. The shrimp were extremely tough but the scallops were super fantastic. My partner got the veal Parmesan which was also rather tough for a very delicate piece of meat. We got coffee and carrot cake plus a creme Bruce cheese cake which was the best part of the entire night. 10/10 would recommend getting dessert here. Don't forget Amichi's is BYOB

Steve G.

Yelp
There was a shard jagged piece of black plastic was found in my food, with sharp, jagged edges that would have called serious internal damage if I swallowed it. When I brought it to the waiters attention, he apologized immediately and tells me it's most likely a piece of plastic from a to go container, which is exactly what it looked like I asked to speak to the owner, who was rude in a professional manner. I wasn't asked to pay, but this experience was a setting for me and my fiancé and myself this was my second experience here but I cannot recommend amici to anyone. Also, later that night, my fiancé got incredibly sick from small amount of the meal we enjoyed that didn't contain dangerous fragments of plastic.

Paul D.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Cherry Hill! I got the special summer Burrata salad with peaches, arugula, shaved apples and parmigiana. Absolutely delicious and very well balanced. I also got the linguini special with shrimp and crab meat in white wine sauce. The taste of each individual component is distinct but all works together in harmony. The ambiance is really nice inside and out. I sat outside and the weather was gorgeous. The service is great and very friendly. Definitely a destination place for when you are in Cherry hill.
