Going to be honest, though ive always liked Amicis enough to come back every now and then i havent always been impressed with the food quality. But i just came back from dinner and happy to report i was pleasantly surprised about our experience and food today. I discovered their garlic bread today and it was amazing. In the past some of their pastas didn’t feel as freshly made as they could but today they completely hit the mark. Keep it up and i may start coming back slightly more often! Great and friendly service today by the way! Thank you.

Had an incredible Detroit Style pizza here called SMOG (initials for Sausage, Mushroom, caramelized Onions, and Green peppers). Perfect crust on the sides, soft light dough. Good size - brought home leftovers and they warm up very well on an air fryer (6 minutes at 370 F).

Meh pizzas at best... Thin crust was really chewy. One piece was enough.... everyone knows the rules....

I frequent the Amici’s Pizzeria in Vacaville, CA. Luv the pizza. Their thin crust, oven flamed fired pizza is so good. So when I was in San Rafael for the night and realized there was an Amici’s close by, I definitely made it a point to order a pizza. I called in an order for pickup. I ordered my favorite… pepperoni pizza. It was delicious. Plus the customer service was fantastic. The pizza is baked in an open flame pizza oven. The pizza from this Amici’s had a thin crust; it was light with a soft chew. The pizza was beautifully lightly blistered. The pepperoni is so good, great quality and taste. The pepperoni curled up into little cup shapes with crisp edges. They use quality mozzarella as well. Overall just a darn good pizza. The customer service is great. Everyone I spoke to was kind, outgoing, and helpful. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, as are most of the downtown eateries. Another thing to note is the parking situation; there are metered street parking and a paid city lot around the corner down a block on C and 5th Street.

Amici's food items are always delicious! We have never been disappointed with their Pastas, Pizzas, Salads, Chicken Wings and their dinner rolls are exceptional! Apart from all that, the staff are wonderful! Hashmi is a true asset to Amici's! Keep up the awesome work!

This is my go to when I come to town for pizza. I like thin crust pizza and the New Haven White Clam pizza is my standard order with some type of salad. I have had various salads they are all delicious and fresh. The picture is from a previous take out. The standard salad is big enough for two to share. I went with a colleague and we shared the antipasto salad and each ordered our own pizza. I have tried the meat balls and sausage and enjoyed both of them. I go to the clam pizza because it is not something you can get everywhere. The food is fantastic, the service good, lots of people do take away or delivery.

Amicis meets all of our pizza needs! The staff is all so friendly, the pizza is terrific and the caesar salad is delish. We love to bring the pizza to gatherings and introduce Amicis to more friends.

July 2023: We went out for lunch with my Father and enjoyed a veggie pizza 🍕 and the hot grilled broccoli. In the past decade, I've always eaten at the two Amici's in San Francisco (Lombard Street and King Street were my go to places). Really like the sauce on Amici's pizza! 👍 Unfortunately, the King Street closed due to the pandemic ☹️. But glad I found the one in San Rafael! The hot broccoli 🥦 was cooked perfectly. Love the garlic and lemon with red chili flakes. Pizza was loaded with ingredients and the crust was nice and crispy. Service was very friendly and attentive. Thank you for a great lunch!

Yelp
I am back in San Rafael visiting the fam. Of course that included our tradition of ordering a pizza (or two or three) from Amici's. They offer Detroit thick crust and New York thin crust pizza with a gluten free option if the thin crust. The NY crust is my fave... thin, chewy crisp crust. Mmm. This time, we dined at the restaurant. It is in the heart of downtown San Rafael on 4th Street . The shop front is not very large. We got there early and they were able to accommodate the eight of us. The fam ordered garden salads and three pizzas with one being gluten free with vegan cheese (Daiya brand). The gluten free fam bammers liked the crust. It looked just like the non gluten crust and had the same beautiful flame fired blistered crust. Mmm it was delicious as well. Our food was served quickly after ordering. Besides pizza, the menu includes appetizers, salads ( in various sizes), sandwiches, pastas, desserts, kid menu, and alcohol (wines, beers, and hard seltzers). Heads up on the parking situation. There is metered street parking ($1.50 per hour and free on Sundays & after 6pm) and is mostly parallel. If parallel parking is not your jam, the downtown city lot is around the corner on C Street ($1 per hour and free on the weekends). FYI - they accept: cash payments with bills no larger than a $20, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Goggle Pay.

Yelp
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try this pizza spot for the first time on Pi Day! Grateful I follow them on IG and saw they were doing a special for the holiday between 2:00pm and 3:14pm and I was able to snag 2 small cheese pizzas for $3.14 each. The service was absolutely great! Everyone was so friendly and they even offered to ring the deal in 5 min early so I could run a grab a coffee next door. Within 15 minutes, both pizzas were ready! The pizza oven added to the ambiance of the restaurant and really felt like a "family" staff environment. Pizza was great!! I love trying pizza spots with a plain cheese and I will say, I was impressed. Not only was it light, perfect crust, but also tasted great! We cannot wait to return and try some of their speciality pizzas! Thanks for celebrating Pi Day and offering a great deal!

Yelp
Gluten free pizza is tough to pull off. Oftentimes gluten free pizza crust tastes slimy. That makes me sad. Great pizza, to me, tastes undetectably gluten free. It should taste "regular" This is that. Everyone knows what to expect from Amici's: a thin crispy crust with a tender middle and a modest smattering of high quality ingredients. If you've visited Italy this feels familiar. Tasting this pizza, you know it's different from every other pizza in your neighborhood. That's a good thing. Grab some gluten free beer to go with your gluten free pizza from Amici's and turn the game on. It's what we did while enjoying these delicious pizzas.

Yelp
Excellent pizza, excellent service. If you enjoy true NY pizza this place is the spot. Their pepperoni pie is the most authentic NY style pizza I've had outside of NYC. Heshmi was an excellent server. His attention to detail was second to none. Highly recommend this place if you want truly good authentic pizza.

Yelp
I'm a pizza snob and I know this place has no hipster vibe. But Amici's is a really good pizzeria. The crust is always crisp, thin and cooked just shy of burnt, which is how I like it. The Caesar salad rocks, the cold broccoli is really good and the meatballs too. Plus there are daily specials (like half price salads). Service is great and the atmosphere is fine. So if you're near an Amici's try them out.

Yelp
We ordered a large clam pizza with thin crust slightly underdone through Door Dash. So, I have no idea what service or ambiance is like if you eat in. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. I am an east coast girl and finding a true thin crust pizza is so challenging out here. It was delivered quickly and the pizza was good though the clams, while clearly fresh, were not cleaned super well so we had little crunchy moments lol - the crust was decent enough (sorry! I am SUPER picky!) that we will try again though probably not the clams. ****Update - Based on Amici's excellent customer service I can honestly now give them a solid 4 stars. They reached out to me immediately and offered me a gift card for the cost of our clam pizza. We will definitely be trying them again - and as they suggested, we might even dine in so we can get the full benefit of the pizza right out of the oven. I will update again once we have a chance to try them again. *****

Yelp
Forgot 3 out of 5 items in a delivery order, despite them being charged and on receipt. Careless going on over there. Pizza was good. Don't bother trying to order anything else.

Chad K.

Yelp
Food was really good, but I didn't get any napkins, straws, forks, cheese and pepper.
google avatar

Cindy W.

Yelp
Take out but make you ask for it not to be overdone. Sadly the same day 2nd order was burnt on one side of the pie

Catherine R.

Yelp
RIP OFF! Ordered two medium pizzas to the tiune of almost $80 including tip. Pizza took 1 1/2 to arrive was told 60 minutes and was cold. Didn't even bring the Parmesan and Chili Flakes I asked for. Called after waiting and hour and fifteen and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Such a bummer. Lesson learned.

Janice D.

Yelp
Everything here was great. The service was excellent. Loved the pizza and antipasto salad were delicious. Good time all around!

Yelp
Amici's is a Bayer brand of pizzas actually really good pricey but really good. I have a gluten analogies so that even their gluten-free pizza it's really good I usually get it with their pesto sauce, red sauce and pepperoni and roasted garlic. If you like garlic, cut the roasted garlic and also don't miss theirCaesar, salad dressing to die for

Yelp
Nice spot for a New York style pizza I got 3 slices in b4 I started this review Cute place , courteous staff, nice atmosphere

Yelp
This is the best pizza around. The pasta is good too especially the lasagna it's hot and cheesey. The service is good and the place is small but cozy.

Yelp
Delicious pizza! The Manhattan Red Clams was so goooood!!! My girls loved the New York Style crust. I personally loved my Philly! First time I tried it in New York style crust. Staff was attentive and friendly. Glad We found this pizza place near our hotel!

Yelp
This place is my kinda pizza spot. A bit pricey but the food is good. They have good customer service. The servers were very kind.

Rich H.

Yelp
Restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The menu had many more items than we expected, but the manager (Patty?) was very helpful recommending a few items to try. Everything was great (and the leftovers were even better the next day). We will definitely be back to try and work our way through the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a smaller location but in a very nice area. We happened to be in the area and decided to have dinner here. It was quite busy on a Friday night but we were able to get a table right away. Servers were very nice and food was great. We ordered the breadsticks, a margherita pizza to share and each got a pesto pasta with chicken. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. Honestly had no complaints at all. Would definitely come back to this location.
google avatar

De Marie Q.

Yelp
We ordered the four cheese lasagna and the Caesar salad with anchovies and the bread. The food was delicious. I will definitely come back. We got a pizza, but we would've liked it. better, had we not added the chicken, but it was good as well.

Yelp
Long time customer. I think their pizza is best in Marin. Normally, they deliver what they quote and if they don't, the manager makes up for it with a future discount. Not anymore. Was quoted a 45 minute-1 hour wait for delivery. My pizza took over 1.5 hours, came cold, and the manager did nothing about it. It's way too expensive for this level of service.
google avatar

JD I.

Yelp
The pizza is really good, the prices are not. Maybe it's because they have a wait staff, which seems really unnecessary. This is not a place you'd want to eat out at. The atmosphere i's a bit like a run down pizza chain from the 90s. There's also a funky smell lingering in the 4th st location.
google avatar

Genie O.

Yelp
I get it, people have had issues. But every time, especially tonight, I've had a great experience. Giovanna, my server was super sweet. My kale and sausage pizza was delivered fresh and hot within 10 minutes. Nicely done thin crust, delicious with the roasted garlic and hot sausage, (which wasn't spicy hot). A bit pricey but at least I got a 20% discount because it's Happy Hour All Day Monday! I went up a size to a small so I would have leftovers. Including an inexpensive glass of wine and tip, it's close to $40. Overall, a great experience though still a splurge for a small meal. 4 stars because of atmosphere and cost. 5 stars for service and food. Wish we could do half stars!

Richard B.

Yelp

Yelp
One of the best pepperoni pizzas in Marin. I recently tried the meat sauce pasta too and it was delish. Always fast pick up and friendly workers. We have never had a problem with our order, always done take out. Last time they delivered our pizza to the bar in San Rafael lol! Not cheap at all, a little over priced but hey it's Marin - they have to pay rent too what do you expect. Maybe loyalty cards or coupons occasionally would be nice but we will keep ordering either way
google avatar

Michaelangelo B.

Yelp
These guys are the best! Consistently serving great food. Our forever "go to" place whenever the need arises.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Pizza shouldn't cost 57 to 68 bucks plus a delivery fee and tip. This is insane!!! Barely any toppings on this pizza, total rip off. Pure profit for these people, plus they keep the delivery fee not giving it to the drivers. Round Table is fabulous, blows this place away for a fraction of the price 32.95 for a large with 4 different toppings (loads of toppings)!

Debra F.

Yelp
Great, friendly service! We've only had the pizza here but we are hooked! Our go to pizza place! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were getting ready for a low key evening and the group decided on pizza. Since we were in a fairly remote spot - and it was getting late - none of the pizza spots in the area delivered. My sister-in-law was headed our way from the city and offered to pick up some pies. The group decided to place an order with Amici's. The whole process couldn't have been smoother. The staff on the phone were helpful and we were able to place a larger order for a number of pizzas as well as fresh salads. My sister-in-law was able to easily pick up the order and remarked that the staff were just as personable in person. Everyone was impressed with the pies and raved over the thin crust and tangy tomato sauce. For a solid pick-up pizza experience or delivery (if you are close-by) - I recommend checking out Amici's. Trust.

Yelp
Best NY pizza since 1977 in Brooklyn! Had white clam pizza w fresh basil w gorgeous crust. Caesar salad w anchovy strips was perfect to my pallet. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Nice casual ambiance. Great for family and casual date nights. Our server packed their 'special' ranch dressing for our leftover pizza slices which will not last til tonight. Grazie Amici! Will return soon! Dipped the leftover pizza crust in their special HOME MADE RANCH DRESSING at home. Explosively good!

Yelp
Cold night, as usual, but it was hitting us harder because we were tired, with the grandchildren and all of us were starving. Amici's is a very excellent pizza joint that serves thin crust, well-topped pies, and lots of salads and sandwiches and sides. We had to sit outside on the sidewalk. The inside was too crowded to find seating before we would all perish from starvation. Two large Kale & sausage (this is California) pizzas $37.75, one small plain NY pizza $15.75, two large Modelos, which were the beer of the month $6.75 each, glass of zinfandel $8 and two kid sprites at $1.95 each. We lived through it and were stuffed. It was very good for $86.20.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid pizza, close as you will get to NY in Marin. They have vegan cheese options as well. My monthly spot I hit up!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and attentive service. Rodrigo our server was excellent. He made some great recommendations and made sure we were taken care of. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Yelp
I have a lot of childhood memories at this Amici's, and recently returned after at least 15 years thanks to Yelp's Passport to Italy. We went with a large veggie pizza and a side of chilled broccoli, which came to $43 after applying the 15% coupon. I would not pay that much for the quality of pizza we received. First of all, it was lukewarm when we picked it up, despite arriving at the time we indicated while ordering. Second, even after reheating it, the pizza was so limp. You couldn't pick up a slice with out it bending over and the toppings sliding off. This is my worst pizza pet peeve. I also wasn't a fan of the huge chunks of overcooked bell pepper that seemed haphazardly thrown on top. The chilled broccoli was good, but again, at $10 for a few pieces, it's simple enough to just make at home.

Steve D.

Yelp
My party of three walked in to this Amici's on 7/22 around 2pm and before we sat down we turned around and left. It was empty except for the kids working there. Unfortunately, there was a smell in the place, as if someone had just sprayed fart spray. (Smelled like human poop) My wife thinks it might have been some TicTok prank, but it really didn't give us a good impression of the place. We went to the great Thai place a few doors down.

Isagani M.

Yelp
Ordered food via ubereats and picked up food myself. The food came out quick and hot. When I got back to my hotel, I noticed that my order was missing an item. I called and mention the missing item. They corrected the situation immediately by bringing the missing food to my hotel and with a complimentary dessert. Food was really good. I love the baked lemon chicken wing and meatballs! Recommend.

Yelp
Good, tasty food. I had the Veneto pizza - no sauce, red grapes, pancetta, goat cheese and arugula. I couldn't stop eating it and stuffed myself. Friend had veggie pasta which he said was very good. Other two friends shared a combo which they also took down. I'll come back.

Yelp
Incredibly small portion sizes, highly mediocre taste, worse than most roadside pizzerias and even fast food places. We ordered pickup at 8:30pm on Uber Eats after some happy hour cocktails to hang out and chill. Margherita pizza is bland, not flavorful, and lacks savoriness. The dough was particularly dry and tasteless. At such mediocre quality for $24, it's the worst value in pizza I have ever eaten. The garlic bread -- one piece was burnt and most of it was dry, even after we seasoned with the olive oil on the side. The chilled broccoli just tastes like broccoli with some lemon and olive oil. It was kind of hard and not juicy or tender. This is hardly restaurant fare and microwaved steamed broccoli tastes better. The sour lemon taste is strong and the bottom is very oily. It's as if someone drizzled some olive oil and placed a slice of lemon and some old broccoli in the box, and called it a day. Four cheese lasagna -- it came with two bread rolls, but they were dry. The lasagna itself was very meh, not sure how to describe, but the last lasagna I ate was Costco and this was much less savory. The cheese didn't taste rubbery but it felt not fresh. The Caesar salad came in a plastic box and was very lacking -- I'm a big salad lover and we just had to trash it, it was so tasteless and like a bunch of iceberg lettuce. The whole occasion was just very, very disappointing, and not better than grocery store fare. It put a dampening in our evening, and it was quite a sorry excuse for a meal. This is the most disappointing food experience I've had possibly since my review of getting food poisoning from quesadillas a few years ago.

Yelp
Good place dining together, kind, fast, delicious. I'd like to recommend you to go there and enjoy food and fellowship.

Yelp
The Saturday crew voted pizza for lunch. While we are carnivores, somehow Veggie and Eggplant pies arrived. Me? I got no problem with it! The Boston had fried eggplant. Thin slices topped. Not bad. The Veggie was covered with roasted green peppers, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and black olives. Both on thin crust and delicious. My parents taught me to be grateful for free food and indeed I am!
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
The pizza is great. Thin crust and nice and crisp dough. Lots of flavor. Cheese, sauce and crust seamlessly pair together. The pizza is the sole selling point. The atmosphere and service are nothing special but I can't think of another pizza restaurant in Marin that comes close on the pizza. As a pure pizza restaurant they are at the top of my list.
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
We love the Boston pizza and their salads are delicious and fresh, service has always been good and we have been getting pizza here for years!
google avatar

Dawn S.

Yelp
This place makes legit New York style food. It's our go to for pizza. They do have a tendency to burn the edges of sandwiches which, when your food is being delivered, is disappointing but: when we mentioned it to management they made it right. Try their cheesecake it's amazing!!!

Martina K.

Yelp
Food is served on very used plates. Utensils are cheap and used. Kids Mac and cheese is spicy. Tv was off when we entered restaurant. They turned it on after and said cannot be off. Inappropriate for kids!

Yelp
Being from Boston , I consider myself a pizza / dining out expert so nothing much phases me. On a recent trip west to visit family we decided to get a couple of pizzas and a couple of salads to bring home and eat casually. Someone suggested this place so, off I went. Ordering two large pizzas and two salads is nothing out of the ordinary. I've done it plenty of times. What I did not expect was sticker shock when I got to the register and the gentleman told me my bill was $110. I asked the cashier if he had the correct order and yes he did. Shame on me for not checking prices when the order was phoned in. If I was alone, I would've walked out but since I was with a teenager and I was on vacation, I just paid the bill and left. The sausage pizza was good but certainly not worth $38. The plain pizza was average at best. The salads were also average. I could've gotten the same type of food on the East Coast for less than $60 - Take this review for what you want, I am not complaining just warning people that the place is way over priced. I understand Covid and the loss of income to these places but, this was over the top. Good luck to them as I know I would never go back. PS: the photo behind the register of Bobby Orr scoring the winning Stanley Cup goal was the best thing about this place.

Yelp
First off, the service was good. I called in my order ahead of time and their marketing worked because I've signed up for the Thanx app, so I ended up taking the suggestion of trying their Flame Roasted Chicken Wings, although those wouldn't have been something I would have instinctively tried. I think they were actually our favorite menu item in our order! I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the meat was tender and the lemon leant a zesty, sharp taste to the nicely roasted wings. The other menu items fell a little short for me. Nothing was terrible, mind you and I got a deal, so my intention isn't to be ungrateful either. Altogether, with the promotion, we got a great deal on a decent meal. The trick is, it's so tempting to want better than decent, right? While the citrus flavor for the wings added to their tastiness, the lemon in the broccoli primarily drowned out the vegetables and, for some of you, perhaps that's a win. Biting into greens and getting a mouthful of spicy zestiness might be ideal if you fear vegetables, but for those of us who look forward to at least some of the delicate sweetness of broccoli, it was lost. To their credit, nothing was overcooked, quite a feat when it comes to take-out, but not quite enough to salvage the dish for me. The Mac N Cheese checked the basics without offering the comfort of true comfort food. The cream sauce was heavy and the cheese didn't have the depth of flavor I hoped for. Again - adequate and not bad, but not quite good either. For the New York Pizza, I liked that it was thin crust. The tomato sauce tasted a lot more like Campbell's Tomato Soup than a fresh marinara. It had a mellow almost sweet flavor that threw me off a bit. Usually, the brilliance of your basic cheese pizza is in the balance between the salty, rich cheese and the tangy red sauce, contrasted with the crisp crust, but everything fell in the mid-range here. I enjoyed the Milano Pizza. The flavors seemed well balanced and it worked well as a thin crust option. Thanks to the staff. The manager especially did a great job of greeting us, making sure our order was complete and delivered in a timely fashion. Overall, my issue is probably with a lack of inspiration when it comes to the recipes, but they own a string of restaurants and I'm a Yelp reviewer, so the owners probably know better than I do!

Jimmy W.

Yelp
I was in San Rafael, for the classic car show, and decided to stop at Amici's. We shared a pepperoni pizza and a meat lasagna, both were great. The lasagna portion was very good. The service was quick and the server was very friendly and welcoming, his name was Christian. I will in the future order takeout from Amici's.

Yelp
Best pizza in town-- my 5 year old son approves! The pizza here tastes fresh and is delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients and a lot of their sauces are house made. The service is quick and employees are friendly.

Yelp
The food is delicious and always hits the spot for me. I prefer thin crust pizza. The people that work there are really nice. I placed a phone order for linguine with meat sauce. I love the way they make it. The delicious meat is teasingly good. They put just the right amount of meat sauce, not too little and not too much. I was seeking comfort food and they delivered. I was impressed that I asked for rolls, cheese and red pepper flakes. They were nice and threw in 3 rolls with butter. I would give 5 stars but wonder if my large pasta order was expensive. I only got one large linguini with meat sauce and I ended up spending $28 (includes $5 tip). Still I think Amici's is under rated and recommend them.

Yelp
I've been a long time Amici's fan. I was introduced to their delicious pizzas during my high school years and I've been hooked ever since. The inside of the restaurant was nostalgic: Everything is exactly the same as it's always been, very cozy with about a dozen or so tables right up to the front counter. For our appetizers we ordered the spicy lemon chicken wings and a family size Caesar salad. I wasn't a fan of the flavor of the wings and the salad was on the smaller side that came with a dressing more consistent to a vinaigrette than the usual creamy Caesar dressing. Our first pizza was half Manhattan red clam and half Philly. One pizza wasn't enough for our table so we ordered a half New Haven white clam and Manhattan red clam. Half of the pizza was different from our original order (we got margherita instead of the Manhattan red clam) so the server sent it back to the kitchen to be remade. Amici's thin crust has just the right amount of crunch and softness. My favorite pizza we had was the Manhattan red clam, there was a good amount of minced clams. The New Haven white clam was on the dryer side and salty from the bacon. The manager ended up comping our second pizza which I did not expect so thank you for the kind gesture. Until next time!
