"Occupying an old Denny’s and decked out with mod fixtures and faux taxidermy, Kings Highway is exactly what one might expect from Ace hotel’s riff on a roadside diner. In addition to providing the hotel with room service, the restaurant serves elevated versions of standard diner fare (burgers, omelets, pie) as well as random but welcome additions—grilled Monterey squid, shrimp vindaloo, black eyed pea hummus—all day long and well into the night on weekends. Next door is the Amigo Room bar, a former rancher watering hole which was purposely left out of the renovation to keep its gritty ambiance. There are 21 craft beers on tap and a killer craft cocktail menu that goes perfectly with the slew of campy activities (bingo is a fan favorite) hosted at the bar pretty much nightly."

My boyfriend took me on a date to the Amigo Room and we had an absolutely phenomenal experience! If you’re looking for incredibly unique cocktails, and a suite of bartenders with impressive depths of alcoholic knowledge, the Amigo Room is definitely for you. Dauntless and the Corn & Oil cocktail were my favorites, so incredibly balanced, perfect ratios. We also dined, the Fried Cauliflower was killer, the 10oz pork chop was juicy and flavorful, and the Branzino fish was the best I’ve had in my life! We left feeling full and impressed! Check this moody well decorated spot out for a lowkey and lovely date night.

Came here for a birthday party and had a blast. The staff reserved a space for us and decorated it nicely. The cocktails were delicious, and the music kept the party going all night. Everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere was electric. Highly recommend for group celebrations.

Google
A great place with a unique ambiance to stop and have a few drinks with friends! The service was great and the drinks were made to order delicious! Prices are reasonable, too. You can order food (a limited menu in the bar) from Kings Highway restaurant, if you need a snack. Definitely one of the local bars to check off of your list when you are exploring Palm Springs!

I got to the Amigo Room around 9 p.m. and it was rather inviting. I liked the decor and the vibe. It's a small space, but the booth setup provided what felt like a little privacy that allowed for talking with friends. Until a little later that hour when the DJ started. The volume was up so high that talking (or hearing anyway) became very difficult. I would anticipate that at a bar more suited to dancing, but the Amigo Room is more of a tiny, low-key, pseudo-Mexican cocktail bar that would be better left to those who want to sit and drink. However, that being said, it's not a great place to go if you appreciate a good drink. I was warned by more the one person in the party we were joining not to order the drinks that they had chosen, and my whiskey sour was all sour and nearly no whiskey. Overall, the Amigo Room had some charm, but probably not enough to get me back there.

My husband still talks of Drag Nite Bingo at this place: COWBELLS!! Where to start? How about with the 6'3" drag queen hostess/ bingo-trivia leader/ performer with the 8" tall purple hair-do? Enuf said. OK, add that she/he keeps everyone in line with a COWBELL and a friendly "YOOO- HOOOOO!!" every once in awhile. Friendly place, you will meet your neighbors in this bar, people are happy to start a conversation. TOO much in every way, and we LOVED IT!!

Bit of a sleeper this one but some great cocktails (Oxacan) good food (Amigo burger with horseradish!). Good selection of craft beers. Friendly staff are what made it.

Google
This is a place I have been to many times before, but not recently. I write this now because there is a new sheriff in town and he did time at Mikkeller DTLA. He scrapped the previous, anemic tap list and immediately installed the real deal on tap. I had a English pale from Yorkshire Square in Torrance and a Reissdorf Kolsch - an actual Kolsch from Cologne, fresh! This may easily be the new king in town when it comes to craft beer (not that that is saying much, unfortunately) and there are plans for more. Keep it up!

Yelp
Nice cool & dark bar to escape the heat! They definitely have their AC on more than other places. Good amount of seating, good music, fun photobooth. I ordered a gummy flavored sour beer and onion rings. Both super good! Overall would recommend looking for a bar in the area.

Yelp
Lame spot. Amigo should be replaced with Apathy. Apathy Room. Yes, that's it! Bartender was super unenthusiastic and was mostly concerned about happy hour ending in 15 minutes and not taking drinks outside. The lightning was weird too. You know when you're at a dance club and at the end of the night they turn on the bright lights to clear everyone out? That was it, that lighting, ya know? I thought the place was lame. Probably two stars, but I'm feeling magnanimous today, maybe 2.5 stars? Time to do a refresh and breath some life back into the Apathy Room, my friend. 2 stars

Yelp
Walked in and managed to meet several others from our hometown. The vibe was pretty chill despite the DJ on a Sunday evening. Bartender was fantastic and attentive. Great beverages and everyone just looked happy to be there. Will absolutely return when we come back to Palm Springs.

Yelp
Scuttled in just my luck to trivia night! Occupied a corner booth with my orange wine by myself. Could not participate due to my unfortunate thin breadth of data on earlier American pop culture but happily observed the festivities. Orange wine was tasty. The food was unnervingly overpriced. Bartender was friendly. Atmosphere was lively. Queen hostess really brought the roof down. Was accused of espionage by my suspicious booth neighbors due to my single company but that only delighted me. Noticeably older and queer crowd but that's what I assumed Ace Hotel was known for hosting. Great night :)

Yelp
The lounging area. Pretty dead on a Thursday night in August. Friday night- there's a DJ starting at 9pm. Pools open! I didn't mind the decor. They need more good beer on tap...may I suggest Paperback Brewing from Glendale, Ca?

Yelp
This place used to be the hangout spot, not sure what happened... I won't be coming back here though. Unless there's some kind of amazing event or DJ but for any regular weekend I certainly won't be here. Their drinks are not tasty, I tried their Paloma and it was awful, I try their margarita that was also awful it tasted so cheap, thought I would grab a beer only to find out they don't carry mango cart anymore like they used to what the hell? They also don't carry Stella what the hell? All around it was just not vibing. And whatever DJs they have here have been pretty whack the last DJ I saw was this recent Saturday, October 15 & he was super whack. They need to bring back DJ day and DJ ODC though I know that will never happen; they're too good for this place now lol.

Yelp
This used to be a go to spot for me but they have changed all of their signature cocktails. Didn't love what we got. Stick to your go to drink instead of trying their signature cocktails--they've changed from years past and just don't hit the mark. Cute bar and nice staff but now it's way too bright in there! Used to be a dark bar with candlelight. Photobooth is still worth a stop in.

Yelp
We loved vampy ambience of the Amigo Room. Drinks are strong and bartenders are friendly.

Yelp
Such a great little local hot spot. We came here with a couple local folks. What an amazing spot to hang out with throw back ambiance and great tasting drinks. The staff are right there to offer drinks, but leave you alone to have good conversations. We had a great crescent booth which just added to the charm of this tuck away bar. They have great craft beer selections, along with great inspired cocktails. We will definitely be back to this location the next time we come back to Palm Springs.

Yelp
Speaking as a guest staying at the Ace Hotel, this place was a ton of fun and a good time. However, I don't know if I would go out of my way for this bar if I weren't staying just a few feet away. I came here with a group on a crowded Saturday night and the best part was seeing the DJ playing some vinyl records. The music was right in my alley, complete with disco, 80's hair metal, and some other funk that got people moving. Fit right in with that desert, "stuck in a different time period" feel of Palm Springs. Definitely fun to people watch! That being said, the service wasn't that great and the drinks weren't particularly special. For the atmosphere and a quick drink though, it might be worth stopping by.
google avatar

Stacey B.

Yelp
This was an interesting place some good singing, not to bad of singers when we were there, fun place to people watch. Drinks were not good, when you went to the bar to order drinks they were quick to attend to you, but def needs help in making better drinks. Overall not a bad place, could be fun if you were with a group and liked singing.

Yelp
We did a lot of drinking and hanging out here when we were waiting around or after the wedding. And one thing we all noticed: Full of weird people There's no ventilation Smells like fart Let's just say there were a lot of weird hippie people or people on drugs at the Ace hotel and ventured their way into the bar. It was quite packed on Friday and Saturday. They had a band play and took up half the space. Place was extremely crowded/stuffy with bad ventilation and smelled like someone farted a lot. We were turned off at getting a mixed drink since it cost about $12-15, so we stuck with beer.

Yelp
A little bit of a hippster bar. Staff is descent and prices are a little high. Cool dark vibe. Went last week and heard some talented karaoke singers who all seemed like regulars. I would like to see the Karaoke again. Small lot with free parking. No cover charge.

Yelp
Tasty cocktails, but couldn't get past the plastic glasses. And space lacks pleasant ambiance...just ok.

Yelp
Whiled away a few hours here on a wet (yes it rained in Palm Springs..) Sunday afternoon. Nice feel, friendly staff and great selection of drinks.

Yelp
Stopped by the Amigo Room after a visit to Joshua Tree in the middle of the day on a Monday. It had a great vibe, a friendly mixologist, and the cocktail menu was full of fun and innovative cocktails, and each one that we tried was delicious. We also ordered the baked date appetizer to nibble on, and it was pretty good. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in PS, and recommend to others passing through.

Yelp
A solidly hip bar in the Ace Hotel. We went during the end of modernism week and the small indoor room was filled. Loved that they had live music, and the singer was really great -- not too loud, super talented, actually contributed to the experience rather than detracting. The only thing is that she was unfortunately shoved into a corner. Spacing is limited here, but I wish they could have given her more room, poor thing. If it's too crowded inside, venture outside and enjoy your drink by the pool -- there's plenty of bench seating and heaters. The cocktail menu is interesting, but I found the service bizarrely cold. It didn't seem like they were very busy (most clientele seemed to already have their drinks and were chatting), but it was a little hard to get someone's attention and they seemed pretty dismissive. I do love the taxidermied bear a lot.

Yelp
Checked out Amigo Room again last night and it was a much better experience! They had a DJ spinning disco mixes throughout the night which I enjoyed! They had tables in the middle of the bar, but moved them out as more people started to arrive, and as more people started to dance lol. We had an awesome bartender for the night, which was Daved, who I happened to know! He mixed the drinks very well, and I would highly suggest ordering The Gold Digger. That's his own concoction, and it's actually very good. I was eyeing that drink on the menu, but since I saw Scotch..I avoided it. Daved ended up making it, which I'm glad he did! Probably the best drink I had (out of 3). Hopefully whenever you decide to check out Amigo Room..you'll have Daved as your bartender. If you go at night, I would suggest going a bit earlier to get some seats. Not the biggest bar in the world.

Yelp
The Glass Menagerie. We headed into this darken cavern of a bar after having dinner next door at King's Highway. It was Karaoke night, and things were about to get crazy up in here. Looking around at the clientele, it was like the island of misfit toys. I felt at home immediately. We snagged a corner table, stage left, as others exited, and ordered drinks. My friends put in their song requests. The drinks were perfectly made with a heavy hand. The crowd was super fun and energetic. We felt comfortable enough to bring out our traveling dolls, and people even sang to them! I loved this place. We ordered a second round and enjoyed singing and performances. At one point I tried balancing my doll on a pint of beer, and all went south. Beer everywhere!!! As the beer dripped off the end of the table, another customer at the table next to us threw a pile of his napkins at us. We'd already used up the ones at our table. The DJ refused to try to help, and spent all her time playing with her glass menagerie and her old phonograph records.

Yelp
We were looking for a cool cocktail lounge to try before heading to dinner and Yelp led us to the Amigo Room. The bar definitely has a great vibe and the bartenders were really nice. They offer an extensive drink list, a little pricey, but guess you are paying for the atmosphere. Fun place to grab a drink and hang out!

Yelp
When my friend told me that we were heading for drink at the Ace Hotel, the amount of prompting she gave me about how hipster this location was not NEARLY enough. Off the charts! As someone who is not into crowds, and prefers my bar scene to quiet and conversational, I am really glad that my first experience at the Amigo Room was in the dead of a SoCal winter. Even for a random Saturday in January, the bar was pretty full with another 20 or so people sitting outside, crowded around heaters. In the summer, I can only imagine what the bar looks like (and it terrifies me). I agree with Glen N. There definitely was a sewer-y smell here, like an overly dank basement. Since I paid a hefiter price for a well drink and a beer, I would like my drinking experience to not be marred by the smell of old pool. We arrived here earlier, around 8:30, but before we had officially left around 10, the people started streaming in. If there is an event at the hotel, the crowds usually end up here and fast. I enjoy the hipster ambiance of antlers, old lamps, weird statues, and "mixology" just as much as the average Angeleno. But this was not a place that i would come back to. I know that Palm Springs can be a haven for the young and carefree to escape Los Angeles for a weekend, but I personally subscribe to the lifestyle of Palm Springs retirees: quiet, quant, and preferably pool side. This is not it.

Yelp
We loved this spot, located just behind the ace hotel check in. Tony was the man and took great care of us, we were sad when we eventually had to leave. If you're looking for a spot to stop in for a drink, I couldn't recommend this place higher. Thanks Tony and the Amigo Room! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Not quite what I was expecting after being to the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. The Palm Springs version is a hipster-macrame-stuffed dead animal mashup. As nightlife options were fairly limited, I went here both Friday and Saturday and had varying experiences. Friday night was kind of quiet and we weren't feeling the random music so we grabbed a drink (yummy guava concoction) and left. In contrast, Saturday was packed and had great danceable music. The crowd was pretty eclectic (locals, a wedding party, and random tourists) and provided fun people watching. There was a group (I think inspired by recreational drugs) doing wild interpretive dance type movements and a freaky Malibu Barbie getting down and dirty on the dance floor. I definitely was entertained, but if I had more options, this would not make my list of top places to hang out.

Yelp
The Ace hotel, and Amigo room attract a plethera of international guests. Whether it be karaoke, or drag queen bingo, there are fun activities every night of the week for visitors and locals alike. Supervisor Alexis is a delight. Always there to greet regulars by name, and to insure they have a great time. If you're lucky enough to get Kip as your poolside server , you are guaranteed excellent service ( and some eye candy as well ) . Locals love the Ace for their open door policy during the weekdays. Hope to see you there!!

Yelp
Linda Bingo! Yeah that's right...Monday night bingo with Linda. She was amazingly funny and entertaining. She hosts free bingo night on Mondays at the Amigo Room and the prizes were things such as koozies, boxed wine, champagne, chips, and pies. What fun! Waiters and bartenders were super nice. They have a unique bar menu, but we were so focused on bingo, we stuck with the basics...fries and bean dip, both of which were really delicious. They have a few beers on tap and a few more bottled varieties. Dive bar diner in the desert. It's decor reminds me of El Dorado in SD. Sure, maybe I didn't feel hipster enough for this place, but it was still a great time.
google avatar

Glen N.

Yelp
Hipster, dark, and cozy with interesting menu, but every once in a while there was a sewage smell. My wife insisted that the smell was coming from the garnish station beside me, but that could not have been it, unless they put poo in drinks, unless they're serving poodrivers or Maker's Make. I want to give it two stars (for the number two smell), but I settled on three because it is otherwise great. As for drinks, the first one was stiff, the second one was not (Excuse me, where's that Asian bartender? He left? Dang.)
google avatar

ChezZY S.

Yelp
Where else in the desert would you find: A) not only strong and good cocktails and B) a strong play list? No where! I am a music nerd and pretty much a music snob on top of that. I'll snub off any crap music and that is why one of the main reasons I loathe venturing out to bars in the desert! NOT ANY MORE! While chatting it up with some friends here we heard Dungen!! I was shocked!! Where else could one get Bjork, Beta Band, Dungen, Neil Diamond and Hercules and Love Affair in the desert? That is just to name a few... Best part came when we danced our arses off to a DJ set done by Susan in Accounting!! My only regret was that I didn't try the Jack and Lavender. The bf said no to Jack because I turn into "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde".. I think not but whatever. I was on a Tinto de Verano kick and didn't want to mix! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4TTXYKViIc

Yelp
Earlier this month, I spent the weekend with girlfriends at The Ace Hotel. We economized by doing a lot of our drinking in the room, but we stopped by the bar on our way out our second night. We had one round of cocktails and one round of tequila shots before we got our cab. I liked the bar's dark, intimate atmosphere, its cozy lighting and comfortable booths. It was small and easy to access, right by the lobby, and I can imagine stopping by for a drink any time of day. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday night, and the bartender was nice. I wasn't quite sold, though, on any of the drinks. I went straight for the Figa, a cocktail of fig-infused vodka with Earl Grey tea, orange juice, and muddled orange and fig. It was okay, but not as good as it sounded. The drink was very sweet, like liquid Fig Newton, without much balance. It was also garnished with a couple dried figs, which was a good idea until the figs got hard and bitter and inedible. The Blood Orange Caipirinha was on the other side of the spectrum. It was pretty decent, cachaca mixed with blood orange and lime, but it was very strong. Don't get it if you don't like the taste of cachaca. The best of our drinks was the Cool Hand Luke. This had gin and St. Germaine elderflower liqueur with muddled mint and cucumber and a splash of soda. It was cool indeed, smooth and refreshing, made like the $10 cocktail it was. On the whole the drinks were unimpressive, and to underline this, our round of shots came out very lukewarm. They were big shots, which was nice, but drinking room temperature tequila is a little like shaving with a rusty dull blade. Just, why? Anyway, it was still a fun place with pleasant atmosphere, and it was a worthwhile stepping stone between dinner and Zelda's. If you're staying at The Ace, you might as well check it out.

Yelp
I go here on Mondays for Trivia Night hosted by the wonderful Bella Da Ball. I go here on Thursdays for the wonderful @DJday event - Reunion. I go here on Saturdays for wonderful people watching and a little late night lentil burger and Red Stripe. Ok, I go here every night. For the booths, the music, the vibe, the staff, the fun.

Yelp
WOW... This was the coolest place!!! the best cocktails ever. I had a frozen watermelon margarita and my hubby had a cucumber vodka selection... we decided to have a couple of apps. bacon wrapped dates, an onion and grilled cheese tartine, and these ridiculously delicious NOT nachos. It's refreshing to find goog that has thought put into it... ANNND the ACE HOTEL is it's own wicked cool entity... CHECK IT OUT

Yelp
I wanted to really like this place. Dark, dungeony, basement like, the DJ spun some good soul, RnB, lounge house, but the drinks and appetizers killed it bad. The raw? Drinks sucked royally. Either the recipes are whack or the bartenders need to return to school. Chips (not complimentary), tacos (one bite wonders with hardly any filling), salsa and ceviche (in tiny tins the size of hot sauce you'd get from a hole in the wall 24hr Mexican food restaurant) were only tolerable. Maybe... just maybe, on a different night with different bartenders and only drinking bottled beer it would be better. But that kinda defeats the purpose of the place having a happy hour with food and their own mixed drink recipes.

Yelp
This was one of the most pleasant surprises to stumble upon. Our intention was to grab dinner at the King's Highway Diner but we were so fascinated with the hotel we decided to explore a bit, thus discovering the Amigo Room. Live music was playing and the decor reminded me of a speakeasy. We grabbed a booth to order food and drinks while we enjoyed the live music which blew me away in all honesty. My boyfriend and I were in Palm Springs for the evening from Joshua Tree to get massages but the Amigo Room definitely made our night!

Yelp
As a frequent, satisfied guest, I was baffled by the service tonight. I came into the bar 25 minutes before closing to order three drinks. My friends and I waited patiently keeping to ourselves. All was well until the bartender (or barback...I don't know) decided to mock us in front of our face, complaining about making three cocktails only 25 minutes before closing. I don't know about the standards here in Palm Springs or The Ace Hotel, but as a bartender for 5 years in New York I know that customer service is key....especially when your income relies on tips. FYI: this worker had her jet black hair half-shaven with tattoos and piercings looking like a wannabe extra from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It's a shame coming here during vacation and receiving such treatment.

Yelp
Although I Love the Ace hotel, I can't say the same about it's bar. Its super small which is fine but even the energy of it is really weird. We came 2 different nights and didn't really care much for it either night. One night had an awful Dj that played "experimental" music, whatever the hell that is, and the other night was some stand up comedy which was only funny to the comedians friends. If your staying at the hotel I guess it's a place to grab a drink but recommend moving elsewhere after. Coming here for a night out wouldn't be a good idea.
google avatar

Yelp
Great entertainment on Monday nights at 9pm with Bella! She definitely made the night! We didn't have anything from the menu, but they do have a small bar menu with nachos, street tacos, and other apps if you are hungry. Drinks were okay; only one bartender for the entire bar/restaurant so slow service. Drink menu is the same as their drink pool menu with a great watermelon margarita. It seemed like they had entertainment most nights of the week, so I am sure the place is busy most nights. Great location for a slow night.

Yelp
I went last August and haven't been back since nor will I ever be. RUDE bartender. Just horrible horrible service and they overcharged my credit card which is beyond unethical and just bad business. The drinks weren't anything special and for the price they could've been a lot stronger. Seriously, avoid this place, there's much better options in Palm Springs.
google avatar

Rain S.

Yelp
This place looks cool... it's like an inside of a classy dungeon.... or Crypts of Winterfell type of feel...The only issue I had with this place was the fact that I literally sat at my booth for 10mins without service. Nobody was even at the bar. They took forever to give us the bill too! Like don't you want your money?? The drinks were kind of generic too. It's whatever.

Yelp
Awesome Burgers! Definitely a hipster joint. Great cocktails.. good service. Fun Brunch spot too. Try their Bloody Mary ! It's relatively empty on Sunday mornings.

Yelp
Get ready to pay 12$ a beer and have mediocre service. Psh psh psh i wish I could have a dollar for every second I had to wait for a drink. Thank god I just snuck in booze and food. Thanks for nothing. Love their drinks tho

Yelp
So I came to Palm Springs for a good time/ relaxing birthday getaway with my best friend. To just drink and chill by the pool. We decided to go to the Amigo Room tonight for some good drinks and a cool atmosphere. We were excited because we've never been, were from LA and love trendy little bars and from the looks of this one we were stoked! First of all the place was empty mind you we got there nearly at 11 PM. The Dj and atmosphere was supper adorable but we left the place PISSED AND ANNOYED and well in tears. We sat at the bar in the dark and the bartender was talking to some people and didn't even noticed we sat down. ( I work in food and beverage so are you kidding me?! ) since there was NOT 1 Security guard at the door we got our ID's checked at the bar which isn't a problem since WE ARE BOTH OF AGE. ( mind you we look young) and I have to say her ID is from Arizona ( I'm 23 and she's 22) WE NEVER EVER HAVE HAD THIS BIG OF AN ISSUE before and I'm still so angry! I ordered the I believe EL Ray drink and nearly was halfway finished with it, and after basically 5 security guards and whoever the bar staff manager is they came over to us and rudely said her ID is no good and looked at my friend like she was some 16 year old. We were both flabbergasted because we go out all the time and already had drinks at dinner and most places have scanners it's 2015. To be denied because kids underage abuse the privilege and a REAL 22 year old can't drink with her BEST friend on her birthday is darn right crazy to me! She said they didn't have a scanner to verify it and then just walked away, that is nonsense to me! I wanted to ask for the manager but I was just disgusted with the way they treated us. She kept saying the Palm Springs police were checking everything tonight and by God I wish they were there cause then they would've had a damn scanner!!! After that the bartender ( didn't get her name... ) But dared to ask me if I wanted another drink because sureeeee what girl is gonna drink without her sidekick and laughed at me because I was so angry I was crying! This place is just A place that charges SO MUCH to stay at doesn't have a scanner! And to be rude about it. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. It literally makes me not even want to come back to Palm Springs. Horrible horrible it deserves 0 stars. And I never leave reviews but I've never been so pissed off at the way someone handled a situation before.

Yelp
As CV bars go, they have ingredients other bars don't have. They have a hipper look than most bars. But it's still a hotel bar--which is great on Trivia Night. Vacationers like to drink, so if you stay (relatively) sober you can win a hefty bar tab on Monday nights! Staff are friendly some days, indifferent on others. Some nights everyone gets their drinks served in plastic cups (perhaps they don't want glass by the pool if we decide to go outside); other nights my companion and I have been the only ones drinking out of plastic cups. Those other nights are frustrating, especially when we see young folks in swim trunks drinking beer in a pint glass while the bf drinks his fancy whiskey from a plastic cup. The events they host can be pretty cool. The aforementioned Trivia Night with Bella de Ball is a blast. Coachella-related events sound fun but get a little too crowded and too cool for me. DJ nights skew young, but there are always a few older hotel guests who stop in to keep the room interesting (and make me feel less self-conscious).

Yelp
Dark and moody, exactly the contrast you need for a break from those hot desert days. Dance the night away in here. Great drink selection too. When you tire of being indoors, you can take your situation out to the pool area too. Cheers!

Yelp
The food is lousy and overpriced. In addition two of us in our group got stomach sick within a short period of time. Tourist Trap.

Yelp
dirty, dark smells like sour bar mats. expensive drinks that aren't even good. DO NOT order food, including greasy chips and salsa.

Yelp
In the vast desert plains of Palm Springs and missing the comfort of your local nouveau Prohibition-era speakeasy? It comes as no surprise that the hipster-chic confines of the Ace Hotel has your back with their lobby bar, Amigo Room. If you were to be knocked over the head with a blunt object in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York and came to inside this cozy saloon, it might take a moment to realize you're not tipping back craft cocktails at PDT, Bourbon & Branch, or Varnish. Same sort of old-school appeal, same piquant elixirs, and an overall vibe that rides shotgun with the usual suspects in the Big City mixology scene. Unlike the other bars mentioned previously, one thing that Amigo Room does to my delight is live music. I'm not entirely certain what their schedule of events looks like, but on my particular visit, a band with a seemingly healthy following was gearing up to swoon and croon the night away. I've also been here during Coachella madness, and there's always some sort of live music element to accompany the setting. Though I DJ quite frequently, there's just nothing quite like a live band to ignite the mood. If you're hungry, you can snag a few items from their bar bites menu. Everything from fish tacos, mac 'n' cheese, lamb stews, ceviche, and more dot the scribe of sustenance, and all are definitely above your average pub grub fare.

Yelp
Such a fun spot! It's the bar at the Ace Hotel. They have a great spot right off the lobby and serve drinks outside! I had a very refreshing one with aloe in it. It was so lovely to sit outside in the delightful October warmth while drinking a cocktail. I'll be back for sure. Every day if I could.

Yelp
Here five reasons you will love the Amigo Bar: 1 You are almost drinking age. 2 You are looking for a recommendation for a local tattoo artist. 3 You like black spray paint more than you like earth tones. 4 You find the self service concept at Jack-In-the- Box sensational. 5 You're looking for a new hook up with better drugs. Hopefully something that will make you forget the entire experience.

Yelp
Dark, dingy and overpriced. This was a year and a half ago or so but.. I got charged $32 for one double shot of Jack Daniels. Enough said.

Yelp
Two stars = Meh. I've experienced better. I want to like The Amigo Room, I really do. I love the Ace, I enjoy the food at the King's Highway and pool area is very hip. But man oh man, I have tried several times and I just cannot GET The Amigo Room. Prices are redic- recently ordered a jack and ginger ale and was surprised when I got my bill. $10 for the shot of whiskey and $2 for the mixer. I don't think I've ever been charged for a mixer in a cocktail before and now I've just had a $12 drink. Are you kidding me? Also, in the bar area, there is no service- you need to step up to the bar to order for yourself. No biggie. What's to like? Their TNT(Taco N Tequila) Thursday deals are pretty good. Craft nights and bingo in the bar are fun.
