Amin's Chinese Halal Food

I love eating dinner from Amins. It's tasty and the establishment seems to be clean. I have not seen the black rice at any other restaurant. Their prices are reasonable, however I do wish they accepted bank cards because of its Newark location.❤️❤️

Dined in there before the pandemic. Loved the taste of it. Everything was yummy including the soup. The place needs an uplift as it wasn't very tidy and welcoming. The water was available but the staff was busy to help us out with it. They even had some hot tea that we drank afterwards.

I love the food, but the lady who answers the phone really needs to learn english. I wanted to order from the Newark branch and not the Jersey City branch. So when I called to order , O simply asked her if I called the Newark one (not the jersey city one), bt the moment he heard the word Jersey city, she hung up on me. After that I called to explain again that I want to order from here only, bt she kept shouting ‘call jersey city’ .. to which I replied no I want to order from u… but she did nt listen. I tried calling again twice but she kept answering and keeping the phone aside. Really crazy!

I came to this place yesterday because it is halal and was 8 minutes away from where I was. Needless to say, I am very happy I did! I found a new favorite spot out in Jersey. You can also see from my picture that their portions are quite generous.

You can never go wrong with Amins. Decent prices you know what to except. Food portions are good and prices are good.

Disgusting service ! Everyone else must be lying for free food. I called the restaurant, woman immediately tells me hold on. I'm holding on for 6 minutes, then she hangs up on me. So, I call back, and I ask "do you guys deliver?" She says "no delivery" and hangs up again. Umm ma'am, I had other questions. How rude ! Absolutely disgusting.

One of the first Halal Chinese restaurants in the area. Standard American Chinese dishes and no pork, all the meat is halal.

The food was okay. It wasn't what I remembered from years ago. The service was good and the wait time was acceptable. It's better if you call in your order. The menu is extensive and they offer special platters. I would recommend this establishment.

Lemme tell you something about this place. It's in the ghetto. There's bulletproof glass like normal. You will get hounded for change and shit from the lovely fiends outside. You may catch a flat just going there. But if you only eat Halal and want some Chinese then you gotta make the trek. Personally I've ordered the same thing for 20 years and it's like mom's home cooking (if mom was Chinese and loved spicy curry with no vegetables).

I've liked such places for a long time. There is a polite attitude, the staff is very responsive. It really attracts attention. In general, it was nice to be here. The mood will always be from this place.

I have been going to Amins for years now. This place is a staple in the neighborhood and therefore that's always people ordering food there. They are known for their ketchup. Everyone is obsessed with their catch-up I don't really know what they make with it but it seems really it taste good. Over the years the prices of increase very much that I don't really know how much the food cost till I get there I called because the price changes so frequently. I think two weeks ago the four piece chicken wings were about six dollars and I noticed now that it's $6.25I'm not sure what they base their pricing off off. The food is always good to here. I ordered the four piece chicken wings with french fries, four piece wings with fried rice, shrimp roll and cheese wonton and they were all delicious. The wings just seem much smaller than usual but they were cooked just right. Always ask for them to make it crispy. I recommend calling in advance so you don't have to stand around and wait for long. Parking can be difficult sometimes it's depending on the time of the day since it's a busy road. You can always park in the neighborhood and walk up the street if anything. You may see some people walking around as wellBut don't be alarmed they are from the neighborhood and are harmless. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good Chinese food.

Found this place during my travels. I was excited halal Chinese food!!!! I dint eat pork so for me this was a blessing as I dont have to fear cross contamination, shared oil usage etc. The food itself is traditional Chinese awesomeness

Love the chicken wings, the shrimp lo mein and the shrimp wonton soup, and can't forget about the homemade tea

Overrated. I went to the spot for the first time just when the Covid pandemic began and they had just re-opened and everyone was seeing their prices so I went. I stood in a line outside with people with no mask on I was the only one. They only allowed for inside at a time and then you paid and picked up your order it was very ghetto with the plexiglass and empty shop and a whole bed but I persevered and got my food. Boy was I super disappointed.Nothing was that great as they had stated I got chicken wings and lo mein and believe me I could have just left it right there.

My family has been getting take out from Amin's since before I can even remember. We may not live in Newark any more, but still come here to pick up massive amounts of delicious, fresh, and generously portioned Chinese food whenever we have a large family gathering. Consistently filling my belly and warming my heart for the past 23 years.

This is my favorite Chinese food place! 1. Because it is Halal, and Im still not eating pork. 2. The food is so good! I've yet to have something that I did not enjoy. The place does have about two or three booths but I would not not advise using it a sitting area to eat my food after purchased. It is definitely a take out restaurant. Area is a little sketchy as all good food comes from, lol. So in Newark? Passing through? Stop by and grab something to go. Literally at the side of 78.

I ate there plenty of times, but I have a problem when the shrimp is not deveined!! Complete turn off and I will never go back!!!

The 3 stars is strictly for the food and in no way shape or form relates to the environment or customer service. My favorite take-out Halaal Chinese Restaurant. Now that does not mean its the best chinese food ever tasted, just the best halaal one I've tried. Its better than the one downtown Newark, that seems to always be closed down due to failed inspections. This is NOT a safe neighborhood. Order your food ahead, and bring your bulletproof vest. Actually its best to bring at least 2 people. One to get the food and one to sit in the car and keep it safe. I suggest you send a man in the store and not a woman, unless you enjoy cat calls from the reprobates and undesirables. If you are feeling charitable bring some spare change for the panhandlers and junkies. -2 stars location and atmosphere (yes, negative 2) 3 stars for food

Amin's has some the best, clean, halal food around. I'd give them 5 stars for food alone! But the service, it's always shaky. It depends on what kind of mood they're in. They have their rude moments in how they deal with customers and they have their shockingly good moods some days as well. So the 4 stars are because the service isn't consistent and while i don't go all of the time, I've gone frequently enough to notice that they continuously go up on their prices...a quarter here, 50 cents there. I think that's ridiculous!! Especially knowing they don't deliver. Ever! Other than that, the food is always on point!

Actually, VERY GOOD food here! This is my second favorite Chinese take out on the East Coast.

Great food and good price. Their food is tasty. Not too salty. I live in another town and make the drive to go there.

My boyfriend convinced me to go here again after I stopped for 10 years (was not eating Chinese food as much and I moved from the area for a bit). The food has definitely improved. The shrimp roll oozes with garlic (so good)! I give 4 stars because of the area and they don't accept debit/credit cards. Overall, amazing food.

Ok! Now I've seen it all. Halal Chinese food and I have to say this is the best Chinese food that I have had in along time. The wings are huge and fresh. The food is cooked to order and not precooked like some of the Chinese restaurants do with their Chinese rice. Mind you this is halal and according to the Islamic law it has to not only be slaughtered a certain kind of way it also can't be raised or feed any impurities( steroids and what have you). I recommend the wings and the egg foo yung which is "slamming". Everything is packed full of flavor and absolutely delicious. Amina has several locations throughout central jersey. You can't fail with it.

Over the years I've grown skeptic over chinese food with many Asiatic people bringing over their home lands dietary customs I never want to be someone who can say I've eaten rat. BUT OMG I LOVE Amins. Always fresh deliciously seasoned chicken. Never bad. I suggest to anyone. I don't eat anything but halal now.

Yum. Yum. Yum. So delicious, amazing portions, and great prices. Shady neighborhood, but worth the stop. Btw, it's not really a place to dine in. So park your car, grab your food, and take off.
