Riverside Sports Bar The Draft Pick Closes its Doors - Eater Austin

"Homegrown sports bar The Draft Pick seems to have closed its doors over the weekend. Eater’s call to the bar’s building management indicated that The Draft Pick is permanently closed; meanwhile, the bar’s Facebook has been deleted. A Redditor also noticed locked doors and signage for non-payment of rent. The Draft Pick, which was located at the Amli South Shore at 1620 East Riverside Drive, opened in 2011 and was profiled by Eater for its one-year anniversary. It was known for chicken wings, a local-focused 32 beers on tap, and large TV screens for watching sports." - Erin Russell

I’ve been living here for a few months and it’s been a great experience. The amenities are top-notch, and the office staff—shout out to Jenna and Alli—have been incredibly helpful. Jenna came through for me in a pinch, and Alli made my move-in process smooth and stress-free. The property is right on the lake (major win), with a private park and direct access to the trail and water. There are even tasty food trucks that come right onto the property—such a nice bonus. The gym, business center, and Amazon package lockers round out a solid list of amenities. Maintenance is fast and friendly—I submitted two tickets last night and they showed up this morning. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed living here.

We’ve lived in so many places, and now that we’re back to city life, I can’t imagine a better place to be than AMLI South Shore! The location is unbeatable, with easy access to everything Austin has to offer, plus the apartments are modern and well-designed. The lifestyle here is amazing—not just for us, but for dogs and kids too! It truly feels like home, and we love every bit of it!

I’ve been living in this community for a while now, and I can honestly say the difference since the new manager and office staff came in has been incredible. You can tell they genuinely care about the residents and the community. The new manager is professional, responsive, and always willing to listen. Issues that used to take weeks to resolve are now being handled quickly and efficiently. The office staff is warm, welcoming, and always helpful. Whether it’s answering questions, helping with maintenance requests, or just greeting you with a smile when you walk in, they go above and beyond. You can feel the positive shift in the energy here—things are cleaner, better organized, and overall just feel more like home. It’s refreshing to see a team that truly takes pride in their work and cares about the people who live here. I’m grateful for the improvements and excited to see how the community continues to grow under this new leadership.

Just moved into AMLI South Shore and it’s been one of the best moving experiences I’ve had. Adan has helped me every step of the way with any questions I’ve had. Beautiful view of the lake, clean amenities, super pet friendly, quick maintenance team, and overall such a lovely community. I highly recommend moving here. I toured many apartments in Austin over the summer and I am so glad I chose AMLI South Shore. You won’t regret it! :)

I don’t know how this apartment complex has anything but 5 stars. Perfect design and location. Next to a lake! Tight knit community and dog park. Super well maintained. Employees are super responsive. Calli in particular goes above and beyond. Always very sweet and helpful. Would not have found my dream apartment without her.

The amli south shore has been such a great experience, and a big part of that is thanks to Alexa! She truly goes above and beyond—whether it’s answering questions, or just being friendly. You can tell she genuinely cares about the residents and takes pride in making this community feel like home. All the staff here at Amli South Shore is truly amazing and willing to go the extra mile for you. The complex itself is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, and the amenities are a huge bonus. But it’s the people—especially Alexa—that make this place really stand out. I’m so glad I chose to live here!

We lived in the town homes for over 3 years. I would not have normally written a review but after leaving our unit spotless when we vacated Amli withheld a portion of our deposit. The amount was less than $300. We had paid over $180,000 in rent over the three years. They thought it was important to keep my $300.00. The location is great with the exception that my F150 was stolen along with other residents reporting the same issue. Several significant issues with crime over the years. The biggest being a swat experience. If you have a pet this is a great place. In August and September, the aroma of the pet friendly environment is overwhelmingly ripe. The complex failed to enforce no parking along the food trailer area limiting the access of emergency vehicles. Again, I would never have listed my concerns, but AMLI thought they deserved my $300.00. Respectfully Dirk W. Van De Graaf

Moving from Australia to Austin Texas in June 2024, finding our first place to live was kind of a big deal. We were lucky to have temporary accomodation for 6 weeks to have a chance to look around in different areas and complexes. My wife and I came across AMLI South shore and immediately fell in love with it. From a location perspective, it’s probably the best place to live if needing to be close to the city. It is perfectly located along the lake and is great for outdoors, jogging, kayaking etc. The view from the community area on the top floor overlooking the lake and the city is spectacular. The staff here are excellent. Maintenance are very responsive, the pool guy Dereck takes his job very seriously and the admin staff Aidan and the team have provided an A1 service. They even signed a birthday card and dropped it off to our door. Although AMLI South Shore feels like a holiday resort it also feels like home. The residents here are also very friendly.

Aiden, Shelby and Joyce could not have been better. Amazing staff and location! Love being here and all the events they have going on. Austin Texas best apartment!

Yelp
Don't ignore the low rating this place has like we did. After giving Amli 15 months of rent, my wife and I had to move out early on our renewed lease as we were having a baby. Here's how they thanked us: They offered a $5k termination fee (not in the lease) or a $2.3k reletting fee plus rent until re-rented. They knew it was re-rented immediately but didn't tell us when our rent obligation ended. We found out later we only owed $534 for six days. Despite asking them not to charge the $5k, they did. For a month, they withheld the actual amount due to extract more money. We paid the rent and then our total due went to $25,000+. They were charging double rent which is illegal in Texas. When we posted screenshots in a review, their employee Aden retaliated by leaving my marketing business a one-star review under a fake Google account. He didn't make his reviews fully anonymous, revealing his name and that he's been defaming businesses all over Austin. One of the businesses knew who he was and posted his name in a reply. This violates Texas Property Code § 92.331 - Retaliation by Landlord. Other unwarranted fee attempts: A toilet broke the week we moved in when it was due to their staff over tightening the handle. Two other times they tried to fine us over things not in the lease. You have to pay the fee along with rent to avoid late fees as they don't allow partial payments. If you're late, you have to pay with a card and they charge a ridiculous $100 fee. If you're lucky after that you may get to dispute the fee. The apartment/neighborhood: The front of the apartment is a 7-11 often occupied by drug addicts puking in the trash or thieves being chased down. The back has the river... The price is based on the river by $700-2k extra, but you sacrifice everything else for that. If I could tell my old self what I know now, this is the worst neighborhood in Austin. Since you have to drive to downtown from here anyways (not walkable), you may as well go 2-3 minutes out and be in a way less sketchy neighborhood, save a ton on rent, and not live right on a busy sproad/highway. We did this and have no regrets other than this Amli situation.

Yelp
The entire office staff is the best I've ever had. I brought my dog to my tour, and all of the girls were so excited to meet him. He was so happy to get the attention and that's when I first knew that I was going to love it here. And I don't normally leave reviews but Adan was so helpful through every step that he also deserves a special shout out. He got me scheduled for a tour, called me to make sure I knew there were 2 units available in the floor plan and then helped me decide between the two, and the day I got my keys was smooth and easy, it didn't even feel real compared to some of my past experiences. Now I've been living here for about 3 weeks, and I still haven't had a single negative interaction. My neighbors and the staff are nice, the location is amazing, and there are cute dogs everywhere you go. No complaints!

Yelp
UPDATE: WITHIN 24 HRS OF POSTING THIS, THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT MY LEASE WAS TERMINATED. SEE THEIR COMMENT BELOW. THEY'RE FRAUDS. About a month after I moved in, I woke up to gunfire and bullets coming through my bedroom wall, feet from my head. When I notified the police, they said this was the third time this happened in my building. Apparently kids shoot in the lake and the bullets skip off. When I notified Amli staff, they did nothing. This is just one of many stories. The people who work here are bullies. They once returned my mail to sender for not picking it up for 3 days (from their mail room which takes me 10 minutes to get to, and then 10-20 minutes to sift through to find my package). That's a federal crime. They also told me after I moved in that I couldn't pay rent with 2 different payments on auto-pay. I need to pay with 2 different payments, and because it wasn't automatic, I was late multiple times, and charged hundreds of dollars in late fees. I could have been better about paying on time, but I just found out last week that they gave me the wrong information, and I could have been set up with 2 payments on auto-pay this whole time. Last month, their payment portal didn't work. I paid my rent on time and got a success message for each of the 2 payments. But I got a late notice the next day because apparently one of them didn't go through. I replied to the late notice 2 minutes after receiving, informing them of this, but apparently due to the fact that I didn't get a second confirmation email, I should have known it didn't work, and I was still responsible for paying a late fee. I said I wasn't going to pay (yet another) late fee when I wasn't late, especially since I had already paid so many late fees that would have never happened had I been on auto-pay. Instead of trying to help, they broke into my apartment unannounced and delivered an eviction notice. In all of these situations, they take ZERO responsibility and ZERO effort to help. Their goal isn't to help or serve their renters, it's too eliminate/silence the 'nuisance' that is unhappy customers. They also advertise these as 'luxury' apartments but the walls are made of paper and I hear my neighbors screaming and playing video games all the time. From inside my bedroom, I can hear music from people's cars from the other side of the lake. Some local row teams come by almost every morning - their coaching screaming through a loudspeaker. That's how I wake up most days. It's really insane that they've done nothing about the shootings. A very simple solution would be to put a sign on the other side of the lake warning people if they shoot into the lake, bullets can skip off. People's lives are literally at risk here and they're doing nothing about it. They just want to silence it so people don't find out their building has been hit multiple times from stray bullets. And 9 months later, they still haven't finished fixing the bullet holes in my wall. They're still there. (I'm sure they'll fix them before the next renter comes). They don't give a F******

Yelp
The good = Great location, nice units, easy access to walking trails, food trucks on site The bad = Expensive, management is average at best, lots of small issues, not a "value" rent We enjoyed living at AMLI, but the issues that came up and the lack of help we received are frustrating. Our AC unit broke down at least 5 times and it took a long time for it to be fixed. More than 10 fire alarm tests were sounded off for extended periods of time in a 12-month period. One of them scared our dog into chewing blinds and that resulted in a $200 charge. Spent $500 on paddleboard storage and my board was stolen or cleaned up by maintenance, no help from management. Although it may have been recently changed, towing company they hired was awful and expensive. Package room is a mess, so we had a couple packages that were lost. The common area by Lady Bird Lake can only be used until 9:30pm, including weekend nights. Elevators went out a few times throughout our lease. Scaffolding was left next to the apartment building for over two months. In addition to rent and utilities premium, I would recommend budgeting a couple hundred dollars for various issues that may come up. You pay for a luxury apartment but do not get the luxury experience.

Yelp
Honestly the worst complex I've ever lived in. The only good parts have nothing to do with the complex. My car has been broken into multiple times, I've had my motorcycle stolen and attempted stolen 4x - finally it's now gone. There is zero security(they tell you there is) and zero cameras. On top of that, I've been held up at gunpoint in my own garage in the middle of the day while catching an individual stealing my motorcycle. This is far from a luxury complex and definitely not a nice or safe one. I cannot wait to get out of my lease, and wish they would cut my lease early. Don't even get me started on the fire alarms that basically bi monthly go off for nearly a week without a plan. The valet trash is a scam. Management isn't great. The only perk here is location and that's me trying to find something.

Yelp
Adan has been so helpful with the move in process!! He answers emails with any questions I have so fast and is very thorough with everything that needs to be done prior to moving in. Highly recommend asking for him if you come to AMLI South Shore.

Yelp
Just moved out after living here for a year. CONS: 1. EXTREMELY noisy. * I lived on the ground floor facing the road and between living on Riverside Dr, all the businesses, customers, delivery vehicles / construction, & garbage trucks it was always very noisy and loud at all hours every single day. 2. Parking * due to the businesses on-site, if you are trying to find a spot outside to go to the leasing office, unload items, or have a friend come over, you likely will not find parking. If you do happen to find a spot, beware of getting towed- multiple friends of mine were 3. Pests * my unit and multiple others, even those on high floors, had major problems with roaches, ants, and even snakes 4. Package room * they did improve this, but it's often very unorganized and difficult to find your packages. I've also had packages stolen even from the secure room. 5. reported crime / car break ins in the garage & often homeless people around - not necessarily a problem but I've seen people doing drugs and someone threw trash at me PROS: * great location right on the lake, tons of stores and food nearby, close to downtown and SoCo, food trucks on-site * friendly staff and maintenance requests were always completed quickly * very nice amenities and common spaces that were always clean / being updated & nice rooftop * discounts at on-site businesses Overall I moved out due to all the noise and cost but it's a nice building with a great location. Worth looking into if you can get a higher-up unit not facing the street

Jacquelyn B.

Yelp
Beware front desk staff lying about the security deposit. I paid $1225 security deposit + $75 application fee and was told $1000 would be refundable for several weeks prior to the move in date if I cancelled. I called today to request that refund (3 wks prior to move in - within the window we were told we could be refunded) and were told ZERO is refundable. We were told there's only 24 hrs from approval or rejection of the application to request the refund. That's definitely NOT what was said and we were more than 1 person who heard the lie. Read everything you sign and record those conversations with the staff. VERY disappointed!

Yelp
UPDATE: Definitely wouldn't recommend moving here now. Staff has gone way downhill - very unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with (I won't call out any individuals in particular). Also, we and our neighbors have had to call the police several times on other neighbors for everything from trespassing to animal mistreatment. AMLI security and staff do nothing at all.

Erika W.

Yelp
I just recently moved out and the only reason why was because of our above neighbors. Numerous times we have complained and called and nothing was done or taken care of. This would go on all hours of the night! The pros though are that the apartments are big, we were in a 2/2 and it was beautiful. The amenities are great. The entire community was very dog friendly which is a perk if you have a dog. I felt safe. The upkeep is really good. My bf did get tools stolen from his car on a couple of occasions which was frustrating. I would recommend living here, just maybe the top floor? Or the newer building which is very nice!

Yelp
Stuff you can expect to hear at 7AM: Chainsaws directly outside your bedroom. This place is still a joke when it comes to respecting residents. Counting down the days of my lease... Do not make a mistake by living here.
google avatar

Dac N.

Yelp
I could not tell how much frustrated I am. I rent the large unit on block 7, one of the most expensive units just 1 month ago. And in last few days, the noise (low frequency noise) from the unit below's ceiling fan is too annoying which I could not sleep since. That is unusual as it happens in 1 bedroom, not the other but the management insist it is normal, without bother to take a look. I am thinking to end the lease early because I simply could not live in that environment and lack of care from management.

Jon S.

Yelp
They are increasing my rent 20% because they can is what I'm told. How can they they do this when: My car has been broken into once. They have tried to steal my motorcycle 3x all of these were done behind their gated parking garage. I was on a travel nursing assignment out of state and I came back in town only to see i was kept out of my complex for hours because of swat. They say they have security, but it is only around sometimes. This Saturday was the last time they tried to steal my motorcycle causing more damage and when I searched the property for security not one person was found. I brought up these concerns to the leasing office and was told that I had attitude. She did not want to deal with that. I guess attitude is when you complain about something.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
This property stole $1000 from me during the application process. The leasing agent, Adrian, lied about the security deposit being processed. I was informed by a Stephanie I'd have it back in 3 - 5 business days. That hasn't occurred and was also a lie.

Yelp
Impressed. I went to pick up some gear from a friend at his place at AMLI South Shore and liked what I saw. I'm probably going to start renting my house to some family that was displaced and move back into an apartment until they are back on their feet and I lived at an AMLI once before. It was a good experience so why change if it's temporary? The office was able to help me without an appointment and I got to see some 1 bedroom apartments. They're nice and it seems like an active place, and the bonus on top of everything was that I can just walk to town lake. I talked to Miriam and she was really informative and seemed to know the answer to literally everything. She didn't try to over sell me on anything, it was just all honest. My friend really loves it there, I felt good about it being an option if I can't stand to live with my family, and I also wouldn't have to move very far if I do. The only negative is that after owning a house for a while I know I'll get spoiled not having to do maintenance and I'll have to go back to fixing everything myself. I miss that! Thanks for letting me barge in unannounced and showing me around.

Yelp
If you have any other choice, move there instead. My roommates and I have lived here for about two years and have about six months left on our current lease. In the last few months we have seen the service and general concern for their residents well being go by the wayside. It started with our want to transfer to another unit in the same complex with a pool view instead of the incredibly noisy and horrible view of the 7/11. The process was overly complicated, the front office was generally unhelpful and every time we thought we had the right answers or forms or money the answer would change. Then there was the construction in their unoccupied units to update them. Construction began at 7am and wouldn't end until around 7pm with them banging and ripping stuff up, all of which you could hear through your bedroom walls. When issues were brought up to the front about the noise or the schedule for people who work nights, the office listened but disregarded the concerns. This wasn't as big of a deal because we knew it was only lasting a couple of months. The final straw, and reason for this review is the eighteen month long construction project that is going to shut down the back lawn where the docs, lake view and dog park are. I have a dog and work as a dog trainer professionally. The BIGGEST reason we moved to this particular complex was it's easy access to the Lady Bird Lake Trail and the dog park. They are now taking that amenity away and I will not be able to use it at all for the remainder of my lease. This was reported to the AMlI residents with less than a week to do anything about it, and even with the dog owners in the complex pleading with the front desk and city council to change their actions and delay construction or build a walkway through the the dog park can be used, as you can see by the pictures they are pressing forward. All of this is to say thy if you're looking for a place that has trail access and dog parks or lake views you have ten other options along the trail and I would choose any other apartment to rent at. I don't want to be one of those Yelp reviewers and say that If I could give this zero stars I woulda so instead I'll say I wish there were negative stars to give so I could at least have some semblance of justice for how AMLI South Shore has treated its residents.

Yelp
This place is great! Kilish in leasing was a total bad@$$ and helped me get into an amazing space! The staff here are all pretty awesome, Ana was great and followed up with me on my move in along with everyone else in the office. :) Each time I walk in i'm always greeted with kindness, which for sure goes a long way to me. Maintenance is pretty good too! I submitted a request for a lighting issue after-hours and it was fixed next day! Super responsive and attentive! The noise level that others are talking about on here are not bad at all. There hasn't been any construction since I moved in, other than updates to the community which by the way, the community is gorgeous so i'm fine with them keeping up the beauty! Weekends are pretty busy with the shops on the lower level, which may constitute to the "noise" but ya live by downtown, get over it. Ha! I leave my balcony door open all the time and it's nice! Overall, I'm happy with the place!

Yelp
I am beyond satisfied with the customer service and overall experience provided at Amli South Shore that I don't even know where to begin, but before I begin, special thanks to Stephanie Marshall. I was having such a terrible day from a previous apartment complex tour but the minute Stephanie greeted and showed us the beautiful apartment complex unit my mood completely changed, to say the least, from start to finish my experience was beyond my expectations, she was friendly, very personable, extremely professional that by the end of the tour I initiated the application process to rent a unit at Amli South Shore. Thank you so much Stephanie and team, can't wait to move in! Great job Amli South Shore for also following all COVID-19 regulations to keep everyone safe! PS Stephanie is such an amazing asset to the company

Sarah R.

Yelp
The property it's always clean, the office keeps you well informed on events/work happening on the property, and the maintenance team is always quick to fix any problems! Ben and Christian have been super helpful! So far living at AMLI South Shore has been a great experience!

Hannah H.

Yelp
Adan has been fantastic throughout my entire moving process. From the tour to applying to moving, he has always been there to answer any and every question. He has gone above and beyond to make me feel at home here at Amli South Shore.

Lily I.

Yelp
AMLI has been great! Despite some loud noises & sketchy garage activity (which I feel is almost unavoidable at any apartment close to the city) it's been a lovely place to live! Kilish hands down deserves an award for his kindness & assistance with the move in process! Waking up and being yards away from lady bird trail is hard to beat! Rent is $$$$ but it's hard to hold that against AMLI when Austin rent is unaffordable at every single establishment. If you want access to the trail & be close to downtown this is a wonderful place :) Also shoutout to the head of maintenance, whenever I had a leak in the wall that required weeks of different repairs they tailored the repair schedule to mine because I am a night shift nurse & I really appreciated it!

Yelp
Good location, but the construction crew here are very disrespectful of people's sleeping hours, start drilling and hammering at 5:30am in the morning. Complained to the management office and the noise continues this week. Be aware that this building is going through a lot of renovation, and they will do work at any odd hours in violation of the city's noise ordinance. I will not recommend moving here until the construction is done. Also, the gated garage here is a joke, had my locked bike stolen on the fifth floor of the garage. There were multiple break-ins and thefts in the garage earlier this year, but the management refused to beef up security or even install some cameras.

Emily S.

Yelp
While I haven't yet moved into AMLI South Shore, I have to give a massive shoutout to the team in the leasing office. I have called them countless times to discuss options and apartment locations, and they have been nothing but gracious and helpful. They were honest about apartments that weren't in good locations in the building. They went in and measured units to make sure my furniture would fit. They sent pictures of units on different floors to compare the natural light. They helped me price out different move-in dates, and switched my quotes and offers multiple times. Luckily I got to see a model unit in person before they had to stop tours for the coronavirus, but the team's patience in answering my follow up questions and sending photos from the property made me so comfortable applying and commuting to a unit. Troy, Stephanie, Ana and Elizabeth, thank you so much!

Soraya P.

Yelp
had such a great experience touring the apartments with adan! He gave me so much helpful information on the renting / moving process. So great to go to if looking for a new home!

Yelp
I've enjoyed this location for going on 8 years. Yes, there are issues like every place has, but they listen and do their best to help solve problems. The staff is nice and helpful. My 2 stars are off because of the huge construction project.they started months ago. I am so distressed about this new construction. There are a lot of BEEP BEEP BEEP 6 days a week. Construction starts at 7 am and stops at 7:00 pm. On top of the incessant noise and dust, my entire view is gone. See the photos below. I fear the apartments that have taken my view will be more expensive I'm not sure? If you want to live here, wait for the construction to end if you want to view the lake. If you want to look at one of the 2 pools, you're good. You'll still have to deal with the heavy traffic though. This entire South Shore area is full of condos and apartments, which means more traffic. Once all of the apartments here are finished, getting in and out of the complex I fear it's going to be difficult at best. It can hardly handle the traffic that's already here. My beloved Austin is becoming just another city, which is a drag because there are so many artists, musicians, and we've always prided ourselves with "Keep Austin Weird" I see much less weird these days. I hope the city council and city planners get a grip and stop some of these damned condos and apartments. At least until there is affective mass transit! Pretty soon the only grass will be at the parks.

Yelp
Once more can't begin to express my praise for the staff at AMLI. Reported huge amounts of dust on balcony, furniture, plants etc from sand blasting at 3pm. By 4pm two of AMLI amazing guys were here with a blower fan and left everything like new. No wonder I resigned my lease for another wonderful year with this outstanding group. I've now been living here for two years and still cannot praise the staff and apartment enough. For the first time yesterday, a Sunday, had to call maintenance. A non emergency situation but still something that needed checking. Five minutes after calling Danny called me and within ten minutes he was at my apartment and made necessary repair. NO THAT'S SERVICE. THANK YOU Thankfully a lot more efficient than Yelp

Ben L.

Yelp
Place literally has cockroach's. Not even a joke. Plus the leasing office is zero help. They also just add charges to you account but tell you you're not gonna get charged? Overall terrible experience

Jade P.

Yelp
Amazing location and overall great experience living here. The rent is pretty expensive, but living directly on lady bird lake trail typically has that price markup unfortunately :( maintenance is very responsive (but I think they charge you extra for light bulb replacements now?) Sidenote: if they place you in a unit that faces Riverside, you will definitely need a box fan or to hang extra curtains because the traffic noise is kinda bad. Also do NOT agree to a 1st level unit, I've heard of multiple break-ins My only real complaint is that, since it's not a true gated community, walking outside the complex at night is somewhat dangerous. I've seen a few homeless people stragglers around before so just be mindful and careful.

Yelp
My husband and I have been enjoying living at AMLI South Shore for about a month now. The residents staffs are all very helpful with our moving in, our storage needs and anything else to get us settled in comfortably in the apartment. The amenities are well maintained and any request for house maintenance are quickly taken care of. We are very happy at AMLI South Shore.

Yelp
Don't move here. They are building new condos on the front lawn. They tried charging us a higher rent when our lease was up even though they were about to build right in front of our window. Our so called river view apartment was gone.. The food trucks are being taken out, along with the dog park. They make you wear wrist bands in the pool. The gate is never working for the parking garage, and for some reason it's always on sundays. Cars are constantly being broken into and when you tell the management they pretend they had no idea the gate is broken. They constantly forget to pick up the garbage even if you put it out in the time frame. This place is now mismanaged and pretty much only cares about making more money from oracle when it's completed.

Yelp
I highly recommend staying away from these apartments, they honestly screwed us over multiple times, I don't want to get too much into detail. They get you with a bunch of fees, even after you move out. You will feel like you're walking on eggshells to get by, doesn't feel like home at all. Also there's two guys named Troy and Robert that were no help at all. Only great thing about this place is it's by ladybird, other than that I would never live here again even if it were free.

Yelp
Throw up in the hallway for over a week before it was cleaned. Unreasonable with situation during covid-19. Very noisy CONSTRUCTION you can hear from inside the building. Will charge you if you leave your trash can out for more than 24hours (I was traveling and had no way to remove the trash CAN from outside my door).

Yelp
I'm definitely a fan! It has always been me and my partner's DREAM to live on the lake and being here has made dreams come true. Don't get me wrong this place had its issues just like an other apartment complex but you get what you pay for here! My one star off is because of Stephanie in the leasing office - She is extremely condescending and rude; I would recommend dealing with absolutely anyone else but her!

Yelp
Run away! If I were to give a review last year it would have been 5-stars hands down. I used to love living here. Now, it is non-stop construction. I was told when I moved in that they would be building a new building on the water but that the construction would not affect us. BS. The construction is everywhere and all the freaking time. It is impossible to drive in and out of the complex because the workers and their trucks are in the way. It is impossible to check your mail because the workers and their ladders are in the way. Want to take the elevator? Nope, sorry the workers are using it. Want to sleep past 7 am? Good luck. Not going to happen. What could be worse then non-stop construction? Installing a new locking system that does NOT work. Some idiot in the Amli management decided to purchase Latch for all their properties. This is a system that is now on all the apartments as well as every door to get into every building that runs off your phone. So if your phone dies, good luck getting in. Forget your phone at the apartment, better hope the office is open. Even if you pay attention to not forget your phone and always bring a charger you still can't trust to get in. Last night, with arms full of groceries, I was unable to get the Latch app to work. Neither of the garage doors would let me in. The garage is hot and there is no cell service in it, so I had to go put my groceries back and wait for another resident to show up so I could follow them in. My roommate told the leasing agent this morning about the issues and I still have not heard from them. You'd think they would call and apologize but no. Why is that? Because everyone is complaining right now about this ridiculous system and they can't keep up. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX AS FAST AS YOU CAN! EVEN IF THE RENT WAS $500 A MONTH I WOULD NOT LIVE HERE!

Yelp
If you want to be awake by 6 am every day; don't worry AMLI South Shore has you covered. (Construction starts before the sun is up (sometimes 6 days a week)) I cannot express the joy I feel of being woken up by the sound of a truck backing up when I get home from my night shift two hours earlier. Who needs bumble when you LITERALLY have men on a crane unexpectedly outside your window? No wonder business can't stay open in this complex. I have two roommates, the girl I signed the lease with and the giant cockroach that has occupied her bathroom for 2 years. Also, living without AC in the summer is fun, especially when you report it to maintenance once a week. Oh. And they one time refused to fix our dishwasher for two weeks, also cool. Upside, if your car gets broken into, your neighbor can empathize. Just the kind of community support you need. It's amazing that any one can find time to rob you when AMLI has been so diligent about towing that you have a handicapped friend drop you off, is parked for less than 20 minutes and her car disappears. Btw I NEVER complain. This is literally my first yelp review....ever. Let's see what fun thing they do next! Install an inconvenient key system?! Oh wait, they just did... welcome to the f(AMLI) y'all! UPDATE: Thank you for your feedback! But when we moved in we we're told by Ana that work would start at 8 am and end at 5 pm. As a current resident, I am fully aware that the dumpster dragging and tow trucks sometimes begin around 6 AM, well before anyone in the front office is at work. (About two hours before I was "sold on".) As for the cockroach; he currently lives in my roommate's bathroom and she's called the front office about it. Thank you for recording her service requests. We're growing fond of the "rodents" among other things. I'm sure you're trying (and the main maintenance guy is great, especially given his workload), but things have, as others said, gone down hill.

Yelp
There are many options on Riverside. Choose any one but this one. There are too many problems to list, including non-stop construction, the closure of the amenity center (perks we are paying for in our rent), and unreasonable and inexplicable policies. A new lock system was installed and no hard copy keys were provided. The battery to the lock died. Can't leave the apartment. The gym, coffee, and meeting/work rooms were all shuttered for construction. The apartment is shoddily constructed, making even day-to-day noises from neighbors impossible to ignore. I purchased an extra key fob for $50. They changed to the new lock system making the fobs worthless. No refund. While there are friendly and competent people (maintenance in particular), the most frustrating part of living here has been dealing with upper-level staff.

Yelp
If you love seeing and smelling garbage everyday, this is the property for you! Ever since AMLI South Shore has added the hallway landfill service to their "amenities" it has become clear their priority is disappointment. They call it "Valet Trash" but it really means is all of your neighbors will know it is perfectly okay to leave their trash outside their door whenever they want. The best part is, aside of the beautiful property with bags of random trash everywhere, that the management claims to enforce the hours which trash may be left out. Rest assured, they don't. Policies say it must be in a trash can? Don't bother, they don't care if you leave it laying around the hallways so that dogs at pick at it. It's charming! You can even pass one of the leasing agents in the hall and ask "did you see that bag of trash you passed" to which they'll respond "huh?" Contact the office? Nothing happens. Contact corporate? Nothing happens. Beautiful views of the Lake, a not-dog park overlooking it, retail shops, and a daily dose of your neighbor's trash. AMLI South Shore has it all. Feel free to move in and leave your garbage out for all to see! Your friends will be super impressed to see what your neighbors eat everyday.

Yelp
I never write negative reviews... However, Ana at Amli South Shore compelled me to. Listen, I'm the ideal renter - I pay my rent on time, or early, 100% of the time. I report issues to maintenance so they can fix them and not cause further damage. Additionally, during my time spent at Amli, I travelled extensively for work and play. I also even attempted to give them additional business and brought a friend by the leasing office. Although, I ended up giving him the tour and showing him one the rooftop deck when she was too lazy and wasn't going to tour him because it was close to the end of the day. (But, it was before tour cutoffs because I called to verify.) Nothing was done when my apartment flooded from a mulch and draining issue on their part. They'd rather just inconvenience you for 2 weeks and offer no sympathy for the situation. When they replaced the carpet, I noticed it wasn't the same type of carpet I had prior to being flooded. It was a different color and of a poorer quality. After I moved out, they replaced the carpet again, which coincidentally now matches their color palette options. They then proceeded to charge me for a carpet replacement on my final account statement. I asked for photos of the "damage." Ana sent me ONE, with no evidence of wear and tear. She made a point to communicate with me on the phone versus email and even said when they did the walk through, she didn't think it warranted replacement. (To give you an idea of my travel schedule, I was gone 28 days in January of 2016, almost all of that February, and only home for a week in March of 2016.) So, it's hard for me to believe it's worn when I was never home to wear it out. Basically, you'll apartment flood and they will charge you to replace it. The pros of this complex? It is right on the boardwalk. But, you can go to South Shore District or Azul for that AND get nicer appliances and granite countertops. You'll also have better cell phone reception at a different property. Rooftop deck is cool, but Azul has one with a bathroom that's convenient. The maintenance team is friendly and will fix everything that goes wrong quickly.

Yelp
This MIGHT BE A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE IN 2020 THAT'S WHEN THE CONSTRUCTION IS OVER! Constant beeping from the vehicles going in reverse and your various saws and banging construction sounds. It's ridiculous. I can't wait to move out of here. Just another greedy Austin apartment complex that decided to take away the huge dog park and make more apartments. You will regret living here.

Yelp
This place is very poorly ran and I can not wait to get out of my lease. I would never recommend anyone moving into this place the way it is now. It use to have shops and food trucks, which was a huge selling point of this place but all that is gone so they can build more buildings and parking. It's been under construction for 6 months now and I don't see an end to it anytime soon. Stay away from this place if possible

Yelp
My review is for the renting process here. I dropped by this complex earlier and had a really terrible experience with Ana. I'm normally quite forgiving in reviews. I can't be for this one. It was really that bad. It's crazy that an experience with a representative can taint one's opinion of a complex. What I've found in this whole experience is that reps can really make or break an apartment renting experience. Finding a new apartment that fits the needs of two different individuals can be tough. Renting property is the worst possible investment one can make. The state of Texas requires three times salary for yearly lease total. For this particular "investment/aka money pit that's $25,656. One would think a complex would be sensitive to prospective renters and so called "future residents." If i'm going to spend that amount of money on something that wont return anything, I need to like it and be shown the value before I agree to make monthly payments on it. Ana was really indifferent to our needs and did not care whether we rented or not. She had no pride in her job and poorly represented the complex. We have a dog, love views of the city, and have different working situations, all of which the complex could have showcased and spoken to. None of these were addressed during the process, nor were we shown the dog park, rooftop deck, and river setup. It was pretty crazy. Other complexes were eager to entertain us and did so for up to an hour in the best of experiences. When we asked to be shown a unit here it was if we were forcing her to do our job and the whole encounter took me maybe 20-30 minutes. I've never had such an awkward experience. I'm not sure whether Ana thought we were unqualified or what. When we were shown a unit she stood staring into space in the living room. We walked around the unit tinkering and were met with 0 insight. Again, we had little to no value to Ana and the complex. You might as well have given me a key with a laptop locked on their "online portal" where you can find the latest rates and even go through pre approval. I would have had a better chance of renting. Anyways, thanks for wasting my time. Ana, hopefully it was actually you who showed us around. You didn't even introduce yourself to us and we had to grab the card on the desk.

Yelp
I am not a resident but I can say that the staff in the office are very sincere and helpful! I left my computer at the pool which by the way is very nice..salt water with awesome grills, plenty of seating and lots of sun! Well, anyway when I left my computer the staff was active in helping return it to me when it was found, I'm beyond thankful! I can imagine that they are the same way towards their residents :)

Yelp
There's a reason why there are so many bad reviews of this place. If we could get out of our lease, we would. Everyone's talking about the construction, and yeah it sucks, but let's be real- this place wasn't great before all of that started. The leasing office is nice until they get your signature and check, don't be fooled. This place is part of a larger chain and once you're a resident, you feel it. There are other (better) options in Austin for the price!

Yelp
If you love having your vehicle vandalized, or you go to bed dreaming about having your apartment getting broken into, than this is the place to live. Although the staff on premises is extremely polite, whoever oversees them fails to do anything to protect/help their residents. I normally don't leave reviews for anything, but I feel compelled to inform the general public.

Yelp
One more shout out. I am leaving the area and unfortunately can't stay at AMLI South Shore or any of the other AMLI locations.. I have been living here at South Shore for years and have been treated with the upmost respect and care. Dan the maintenance manager is so on his game. Robert, Ana and team have been responsive across the board. The community is looking sick and I am bummed I can't be here for for the new pool, restaurant etc. If my new gig doesn't work out I will be back in Austin and South Shore in a heartbeat. Anyways, thanks again you guys and keep up the great work!!

Yelp
Kilish is an absolute angel! He does his job with love, all he helped me with was done out of the kindness in his heart. I am grateful for the experiences I had while living at ALMI South Shore!

Yelp
Hopefully this new review doesn't totally replace my last one, but here we go again.... so the latest from AMLI South Shore is that you have no choice but to get their Valet Living Waste Management services and yet if you have a problem with the service it's on you as a resident to try to get your money back directly from the Valet Living. As I said directly in my email to AMLI: I am looking forward to moving out. Most of AMLI South Shore's policies just create a large inconvenience to residents. I have lived in Philadelphia, Phoenix, New York, and Seattle in apartments of a wide variety (some much older than 10 years, as this was what they cited as part of the resin did not being as great as AMLI in Seattle) and this is by far one of the worst experiences. I don't live in a building like this one, because I have all the time or energy, with a high stress job to run around and deal with these things in my supposedly free time. The whole purpose of living in a building like this one is to pay to not have to deal with these things. This is another inconvenience to add to the laundry list I posted a couple of months ago, because at the end of the day I didn't separately contract with Valet Living. I'm forced into this situation as a result of my relationship to AMLI. It's not as if Valet Living is a separate utility like the Internet and I chose them, so it's ridiculous for me to have to deal with them directly. Counting down ... approximately 6 months to go! Luckily I have some out of town vacations coming up in between.

Yelp
I lived at AMLI South Shore for three years. During that time, my car got broken into five times -- three of those times it was parked behind the gate in the garage -- and my apartment flooded. When I moved out, I left some things in a kitchen cabinet that were immediately thrown away despite a policy that requires Amli to keep left behind items for 30 days. Throughout all of this, management could not have cared less. After the fifth car break-in, I called the police and they said they couldn't do much because there weren't enough security cameras. I asked management why they couldn't install more and they gave me a non-answer and treated me like I was crazy for being so mad. After the flood, maintenance swiftly invaded my apartment, ripped out baseboards and set up noisy fans without telling me whether I should stay or how long it would take. Call your renters insurance, they said. Maybe they'll put you up in a hotel. Not sure what else to tell you. The items that I accidentally left behind during move out that they threw away were of great personal value to me. When I realized they were missing, I emailed the office. One of the staffers told me they had a policy requiring them to keep left behind items for 30 days but he eventually stopped responding to my messages asking me when I could come to pick them up. I finally stopped by the office and a staffer took me to my old apartment. It had been completely gutted for renovation. I was livid and asked if they could reimburse me. I spent weeks tracking down old receipts. After weeks of back-and-forth, they said they couldn't reimburse me but promised a $150 gift card THAT I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED. If I didn't have to deal with management, this place would have been decent. Oh, but watch out for all the construction going on!
