The Best Indian Food in Philadelphia | Eater Philly

"Amma’s is a Philly staple, with aloo bonda served with cooling coconut chutney, idli dipped into sambar, masala dosa, and lamb chettinad (a long-cooked lamb dish spiced with coconut and ginger). The Couple’s Combo, which includes chicken and mutton biryani, chicken kuruma, parotta, raitha, raitha, and dessert, is a good bet for date night night out or in." - Ernest Owens

Delicious food, great for a quick dinner pickup! I love the Gobi Manchurian, paratha, and naan

Good food (if maybe too spicy for me), but I was frustrated that they didn't seem to start working on my order until I arrived. And no one was manning the front desk. Combo meal for couples was a good deal.

Ordered takeout from an Indian restaurant and tried the dosa and veg biryani. The dosa was a highlight—authentic flavors with three chutneys that paired perfectly, plus a surprise halwa dessert that I absolutely loved! Everything was well-packaged with no spills. The biryani, though flavorful, was light on veggies, and the sweet yogurt raita didn’t quite complement the dish. At $30 for both items, the pricing felt a bit on the higher side for the portions. Overall, a mixed experience but worth trying for the dosa alone!

The food here is authentic and great. I am lucky enough to live nearby and it makes the whole neighborhood smell amazing as well.

Food is good but for a to-go place they take a lot of time to give food. They say 10-15 mins but they take at least 30mins.

Their food is way overpriced. $16, $17 for Dosa is ridiculous price. If you want a best south Indian food then ho to Morganville South India temple. $6 for dosa and $5 for Idli.

Staff was super kind and accommodating, the food here is honestly some of the best Indian food I've had in South Jersey. I cannot recommend the Ravatha enough, and the chicken kurma was delicious. I'll definitely be coming back!
