The Best Indian Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"A refreshing and new addition to the Suwanee area, this a homestyle eatery purely designed for Andhra-style takeout entrees. A large freezer contains a variety of dosa batters, two large glass cases are lined with unique spice blends far beyond garam masala or tandoori masala, and freshly made traditional Andhra-style sweet and savory snacks. Try one of their daily specials like a Mango Daal, or a Jackfruit Curry complete with crunchy peanuts. Place an order for a 16-ounce serving of one of their many vegetarian entrees. Also, pursue their selection of homestyle preserves." - Nandita Godbole

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The food is authentic and fresh. My child was sick and I needed fresh idly batter as we ran out and the quality of idlys were super soft and very good quality. Very authentic food. I almost ran out of jackfruit curry to update the picture and it is a good thing if you know what I mean.

It is a takeout place only. I ordered onion samosa and Jackfruit curry. Onion samosas were tiny. 4 onion samosas for $5.99 is very expensive. Similar onion samosa at Patel Brothers Cafe is 79 cents each. The Jackfruit curry was Jackfruit pickle. I don't understand how they call it curry. They can add it to their pickle list for sure. It was tasty as a pickle, but definitely not a curry. I went to try there for the first time by seeing the great reviews, but it was meh

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Family owned take out place. Fresh masalas, pickles, snacks and sweets. We got their protein vadas (made with black eyed peas), millet pongulu, Aritikaya bhajji (like paneer pakora, but with raw banana), and amazing sambar. Taking biriyani and eggplant sabzi to to for the evening!

Authentic Telugu Flavors, Just Like Home As a weekly customer at Amruth Ahar, I can say with complete confidence—this place is a treasure for anyone craving authentic Telugu food. I’ve tasted every item on the menu, and not once have I been disappointed. Every dish feels like it’s been cooked in a traditional Telugu kitchen with love and care. A heartfelt thanks to the owners for maintaining such high standards and making sure every item stays true to its roots. Their commitment to authenticity shows in every bite. From comforting curries and tangy pulusu to spicy pappu and rich sambar, the flavors are balanced, fresh, and utterly satisfying. What makes Amruth Ahar even more special is their selection of traditional sweets and snacks. Their bobbatlu are soft, perfectly stuffed, and melt-in-your-mouth. And don’t miss the karapusa—crunchy, flavorful, and made just right. They also serve nostalgic street-style snacks like muntha masala and punugulu, which instantly transport you to a typical Telugu street corner. A big thanks also to the amazing staff who ensures every order—big or small—is handled with care and delivered promptly. Amruth Ahar isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a slice of home for Telugu food lovers. Highly recommended for anyone looking for soul-satisfying, home-style Andhra food.

Take away ONLY. Everyone shall try this place. They have the best snacks and sweets. They do have plenty of varieties freshly made in the kitchen. They do change their oil everyday. Dr. Kumar and Ms. Rajeswari are so welcoming and treat you well. When we say veg, they are true to heart, all those working in the kitchen are also vegetarians. Food tastes good. Veg biryani with salan was very yummy. We will be back with our future orders.

Coming from DC, I was in the lookout for a new casual Indian place like those I loved. I came in and the owner gave me a few samples without even asking. It was so tasty I knew I was at the right place! It’s got a small seating area if you want to stay and eat. There’s a large selection of spices to buy, along with a huge case of fresh items. It was also extremely clean. I look forward to coming back! I recommend what I had this time: paneer masala, jackfruit biryani, gulag jamun, and the mango lassi.

If you really like vegetarian home food, this is the best place in Atlanta. Ava pulihora is outstanding and unbeatable! Fresh pickles, idli/Dosa batter, snacks, etc, are excellent! Restaurant food can never match home style food in my opinion.
