I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich and soup, and both were fresh, filling, and way better than expected for a casual café. Portions were generous, especially for NYC prices. Service was fast and friendly, my order came out quickly, even though there was a steady lunch crowd. The atmosphere felt relaxed and local, with people grabbing lunch, chatting quietly, or eating solo. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable.

Great deals for all meals (prices include your choice of can of soda). Staff behind the counters are very friendly. Food is very good portions and delicious! Awesome soups (change daily) with no MSG. Hot dinner is also very good and great price. Love the oatmeal in the AM with blueberries. Our go-to place for most meals while in NYC.

Unfortunately, I was craving an apple turnover, and I asked the clerk if it was fresh he said yes, and I bought it. It was nasty and hard. The rest is great. They have all sodas and refreshments and hot food. Otherwise, it is a great bodega

The guys preparing the food are very fast, consistent and friendly. Prices are reasonable, considering it's Manhattan. It's a really good place for whenever food.

I stopped by here for lunch after visiting the museum nearby. We ordered pilllycheese steak sandwich combo and pastrami sandwich. The combo was served with fries and can soda. The pastrami sandwich was served with chips, pickle and can soda. The portion of the food was good and the price was very reasonable. I remember it was about 22 or 23 bucks in total. Consider the fact that it is in nyc, I even thought that they gave you more food than the price, which was really nice! I hope they remain everything as now cuz I definitely will come back!

Stopped by after a visit to nearby American Museum of Natural History - within walking distance. Delicious and hot sandwiches just what we needed that day! The fries were great and we also tried a cup of the chicken noodle soup, which is made from scratch in store! Absolutely delicious and prices are fair. Service was good too 👌 Will definitely go this place more often!

Service, horrible extremely rude no cleanliness. We asked the food to go and they wouldn’t let us sit overall very not pleased with the experience aside from that the inside was empty and he still did not let us sit. We were very friendly not happy not happy at all.

Ordered macaroni salad and potato salad. They were literally potato and mayo and macaroni and mayo. Truly awful - no seasonings, carrots, celery, anything. Coleslaw was smothered with mayo and not much else. The only reason I didn't give them a lower rating was because they refunded my money for the salads and other items were good. Just avoid the premade salads.

The regular guy who makes the sandwiches here has an attitude problem. I'm sorry to say it, but he does. And not only that but today he messed up my sandwich. I ordered a tuna club on a wrap - it was clear as day, my two friends heard me order it, and he handed me a plastic container with a tuna salad sandwich on a cheap kaiser roll. I asked him politely to please remake it into a wrap like I asked, and he made me what my friends called a "punitive wrap," containing a tablespoon or so of tuna and the bare minimum amount of lettuce and tomato. I was very confused by the volume of this wrap - why was I being punished for HIS mistake? Please take a look at the photos if you don't believe me. This was disgraceful. To make matters worse, I was overcharged for the punitive sandwich. I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year. Every time I come in, I am charged the exact same amount, $10.83. For some reason today, the young man behind the register charged me $15.23 for my punitive wrap. I suppose I could have corrected his mistake but I was so unsettled and frustrated about the punitive wrap that I didn't speak up. One thing is for certain - I will never be returning to Amsterdam Deli. Here's how much business they're losing - 2 sandwiches / a week = $22 a week $88 a month $1056 a year. All because the guy behind the counter couldn't make me a [redacted] wrap. Jesus.

Got 3 bagels toasted and it literally the dough for the bagel wasn't cooked at ALL. Took a whole bite of legit dough. The cashier was so rude. Never go here

We needed a quick place to grab lunch and get out of the rain. We popped into this place, and I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich. It was delicious and extremely affordable. I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to grab a quick meal!

ordered a breakfast burrito and a waterbottle and coffee. only got the burrito and when I tried to call, they won't accept the call. just keep ignoring the call or ending it. haven't been able to talk to anyone about getting a refund for the water and coffee. horrible place

Straightforward NYC deli. No frills, but great selection of drinks and lunch/dinner items. Got the pastrami sandwich for 6.95, comes with free pickle, chips and a soda. Great value, can't complain. Service was quick; I'll definitely be back again. Service is as expected, no problems here either.

Food was great, BUT the people are NOT friendly at all! It was like they were doing me the favor and I was an inconvenience. I thought this was like the restaurant Dick's where they purposely treat you bad. I just read other reviews where others also commented on the hospitality. Would I come back? Probably not as other businesses will gladly take my money with a smile.

Horrible service and horrible food. Went in at 2:15am and asked for a chicken quesadilla. Got cold chicken on a cold tortilla and after spending $11 and asking to at least warm up and told "they're busy" Rude services, terrible food. Save your money and eat the garbage outside

Terrible, terrible! Ordered a Philly cheesesteak and basically received a piece of bread and cheese. See image... Called and said I was disappointed and was told my sub looks like this because I opted out of adding on peppers and onions. Gimme a break!

Breakfast wraps are the bomb! Great selection of ice cream pints for the late night munchies!

Was looking for a quick, inexpensive lunch and Amsterdam Deli did not disappoint! The combo meal (burger, fries, and a can of soda) came to ~$9 after tax and included a lot of food! Fries were solid too. I had the veggie burger (although you can choose a beef or turkey burger as well), and while it didn't look homemade it hit the spot. Full of veggies and slightly crisp from the grill. Not a black bean burger which is a positive for me. Will be back!

Gross, disgusting. Overpriced abs rude, I try to support local business but this guy is not helping himself, then he complains when a chain coffee shop takes over.

Been ordering from here during Covid-19, and they consistently take too long for delivery. Although the prices are reasonable, it might be my last time due to this.

the owner has horrible customer service! rude and disrespectful! i ordered over the phone and when they got the bread incorrect he said it was my fault! he also said it wasnt his problem that i messed up the order. refused to give me a refund or even make it the way i wanted! i will never go here again, even the turkey was old and gray looking!!

I came here because I was lost and I had my 13year old in tow with attitude because he was starving. Ordered an omelette it was flat, dry and not exciting in any way, even made my stomach hurt after for a few hours. My kid had 2 dogs with fries, I tried a couple of his fries, they were pretty good. Service was decent, grill cook took away the food after I tried to reach for it thinking it wasn't mine, so I went to go pay for it first, hopeful he would give it back .. lol. Cashier then told me to get my food, I said I can't because he took it way when I reached for it! Whatever, maybe he thought I didn't look like someone that would order an omelette, who knows yet at this point I'm not sure I care. Next!

Corner deli that offers a wide selection of food breakfast through dinner. I particularly enjoy the make-your-own pasta combo along with the hot bar, which typically serves up chicken, pepper steak, salmon, pasta along with several vegetable sides. Their burger and fries and philly cheese combos are pretty decent. They also offer fresh salad options. A bit pricy, especially post renovation, and delivery takes awhile.

This is a great place for some cheap breakfast and lunch items. The prices are hard to beat and they have a wide range of sandwiches, burgers, salads, breakfast items, etc. My wife and I often come here when we're too lazy to cook but not wanting to splurge on a $30 sitdown breakfast. And they've got good iced coffee too!

The sandwiches here from the grill station are EXCEPTIONAL to say the least. In particular the one with chicken and pastrami. Mercy me that is one heck of a sando. Not to mention the prices of them are excellent considering they come with chips and a can of pop. Good selection of drinks and snacks overall at the deli. Very clean store. Feeling blessed and highly favored to be able to frequent this establishment

Neighborhood Manhattan deli with Brooklyn prices. I have been coming here for a couple years now and have gotten constantly high quality food. Best part is as a regular I always receive a warm reception. My only complaint is that I received somewhat overcooked sandwiches a few times that left a burnt aftertaste. However, the times I received an imperfect sandwich are few in number compared to the amount of times my sandwich was created to my exact liking. Overall, if you live on the UWS and are looking for that neighborhood deli experience that is hard to find in the city, this is the place for you.

Sometimes this place is good and sometimes not so much. It really depends on who's working I guess because I've ordered pastas, salads and sandwiches from this place and have been super impressed, other times I've ordered the same thing and it was mediocre at best. So I guess take a chance at your own risk and see if you get one of the good ones.

Best bodega / deli in the neighborhood. Come here all the time for the chicken Caesar wrap and the chicken quesadilla is out of this world. Both are under $11 and come with a soda and big enough portions to share. Don't believe the bad reviews. This place is the tits and I look forward to trying other food items

Great breakfast sandwiches and before 11am you get a free delicious coffee or a small oj if you prefer. As previously stated, great no frills place for a cheap breakfast or late night meal after a wild night out at the local bars. There is seating here, which many delis and bodegas in area do not have. Good place to sit with your free coffee and read the newspaper if you need to get out of your tiny apartment!

I honestly used to love this spot... but they have really been failing me. I haven't been able to get ahold of them for days now. Their phone line rings twice and doesn't ring after that. Their online ordering system doesn't have my hot food options, so ordering there is a risk of getting things I don't want. And I can't call to fix it. So again haven't been able to order from here for a while now.

I had food delivered and it was cold. The fries were mushy, and the sandwich was simply not good. The chicken was char-grilled and seemed burned to me. I don't ever waste food but I couldn't eat the whole sandwich and threw it away. They seemed to have a great menu so I was excited but the food I got was simply not good. If you are looking for good quick food, I would sadly not be able to recommend this establishment. In fact, I would suggest you avoid it.

This place beat out Big Nicks for my late night UWS grub spot several years ago. And is still my undisputed champion! Whether I walk in or get my Seamless on, my order is never screwed. I wish that I could clone this spot and place it in strategic places like in the Bronx, or near Nitehawk Cinema, and some train stations when the drunkie munch munch gets me down. I need a good pick up. Boom. Chopped cheese. Boom. Hot fresh coffee. Good to go.

The attitudes in the men working in this place make my food taste nasty. I had the displeasure of overhearing a cashier make disparaging comments about a black female customer in Spanish. Same cashier ran my card without stating a total first and walked away to answer a phone order, leaving my card unattended on the counter after sending me to retrieve my "free soda."

Great local place for a reasonably priced bite to eat. You can get some good food without breaking the bank. This place is awesome if you're drunk and looking for some food after a night out. They have cold cuts, paninis, burgers, Philly cheesesteak, wings, gyros, salads, pasta, smoothies, sandwiches, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks. Bagels and spreads, pastries, yogurts, sodas, juices and soups and teas and coffees. If you're hungry, come here. If you're looking for somewhere quick and easy, come here. If you have the munchies, come here. I love this place because it's quick and has what I need. The best and cleanest neighborhood deli I have found on the uws.

24/7 food available at good price. The staff is very friendly. Perfect for a quick takeout. The food is ready within 5 mins. They have variety of options from sandwiches, pasta, salad, panini, burger.

The workers are super nice, but the owner who was at the register at the time I went, is an awful guy to costumers and his employees. He charge me more than it says at the menu, and when I told this to him, he just proceeded to yell at me and to the poor nice worker who did my meal. Other then that, as I said, the food is good.

I love having a 24 hr cafe, this one is good and cheap. You can get a lot of bang for your buck. They also have flowers that's open 24/7 as well.

I have had coffee in all the fancy coffee shops in the neighborhood, but this deli make the best coffee. Thy also make a really delicious bacon egg and cheese wrap. Service is quick.

So this use to be a great bodega for all your needs but now the staff has changed quite a bit and so have the prices They are trying to compete with Lenny's Gourmet by introducing salads and hot food but with these changes they are jacking up prices which is NOT cool! What they are gonna end up doing is alienating the core neighborhood people while trying to cater to new clientele!

Order from here a lot because they make a great sandwich and always include pickle and chips. However I ordered from seamless this weekend and found a long black hair in my food. I'm blonde so I know it wasn't mine. Was disgusted.

This place had good food everything is fresh . The place is clean and not bad in price. A win win for me and a place to come if you wanna get filled up but not break the bank to do so .

Me and a friend went here, typical New York deli interior, big menu selection for both breakfast and lunch, got some breakfast wraps and fresh fruit smoothies, made fresh to order and everything was delicious, far superior to Andy's deli down the block, would go again

It took the waiter 20 minutes to bring us a glass of water and take our order. To be clear the restaurant was not crowded. Once we received our food we had to constantly remind her to pour us water. The food was nice but the service really ruined the experience. I will not be returning.

Terrible Deli. You're better off going to Andy's deli around the corner which is much better! This place takes 20 minutes to make a sandwich, often screws up the order, and is usually overpriced.

Been going here for 12 years. Lost my wallet one night and the guy who's worked there for at most two years was not gracious enough to give me water, knowing I'd come back the next day with money. He sees me at least 3x per week, I'm a loyal customer. It's a shame an establishment would turn away a loyal customer who will with no doubt come back, someone who's spent thousands of dollars there. He's obviously not seasoned or business savvy enough to know what a loyal customer means in the grand scheme of things. This place has changed and is not the neighborhood place it used to be. For now on, my business will go to 82nd street who welcomes me with open arms and is always happy to see me.

If you don't mind sandy basil in your panini, go for it. These people put the sand in sandwich. Yecchhh... :-(

Love this place but just ordered a cubano sandwich and got home to realize it's a roll with sprouts and tomato.. Couldn't be more opposite of what I ordered. Extremely disappointed.

First time getting food from here! I got the smoked salmon omelet...so good! Looking at the menu, everything sounds good and cheap for Manhattan! I think I found my spot ya'll!

One of my favorites place to drop by for lunch when I am in the area. The owner is a really sweet guy and sometimes throws in a few things for free if you've come often enough. The food is served quickly and is such a good price for what it is. I would recommend any of their sandwiches. I am also a huge fan of the lamb and chicken over rice. It is the largest portion ever for just six dollars.

Place has gone down hill. Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich cost $6- and was pretty lousy. Food not as fresh as it once was. Skip this place.

I have this deli to thank for my recent weight gain. I come here from time to time when I'm on my lunch break to eat. The prices are cheap, especially for the neighborhood. Their cold sandwiches, especially the Columbus, is awesome. Huge sandwich served with potato chips is only $6 in change. I haven't tried their hot foods but I have seen the meals being prepared and I makes me want to take out a small personal loan to try them all. The staff is friendly and attentive. Service is quick. It's nothing special to look at inside, but that doesn't matter. As long as the food is food, which it is, i could watch "Honey Boo Boo" and be ok. But thank god they don't play that on TV at the deli. I don't visit here as often as I'd like, but that's slowly changing.
