Live music was wonderful, staff member leaving took the time to make some suggestions from menu and bar drinks

We stopped in expecting a nice lunch on 8/21/25. We were disappointed. The Reuben sandwiches were great. The fried pickles were great. Unfortunately, everything else was way substandard. French onion soup was nothing but a pile of croutons and tasteless broth. The chips were stale. The confusing thing was when we told the waitress she acknowledge it. “Yeah the chips are stale and they only opened them yesterday.” There was no offer for a replacement side like oh maybe coleslaw?. we paid $67 including tip,for the disappointment. The bathroom was clean though. This place is going downhill. We’ve been coming here for several years and not been disappointed in the past.

Google
I love this place! My friends and I come here once a week! The food, service, and atmosphere keeps us coming back. If you're a Reuben lover, The Still absolutely nails it. This is also one of the few places that knows how to pour a great pint of Guinness.

Grady W.

Google
So we popped in on our way home from a weekend trip. Turned out they had a mother's day buffet so we didn't eat off the menu. The buffet was cheap and worth every penny. The food going by from the menu looked great. Will come back to try that. Cool place.

Catherine R.

Google
Red alert!! Food the first time we attended was fair. We had a reuben, my husband had a burger, and our daughters had the buffalo chicken flat bread. Reuben had no flavor, bread burned unacceptable indeed. My husband’s burger was overcooked, and again unacceptable. We tried to give them a second chance, however no improvement whatsoever. Management not understanding or willing to compensate in anyway at all. Second time the food was even worse than the first. We wasted over 200.00. Save your money. Go somewhere who has good food, and who is willing to fix a problem without placing blame or ignoring the facts.

Google
The atmosphere at this restaurant is undeniably charming — classic Irish decor with a cozy, welcoming vibe. The service was warm and attentive, which added to the overall pleasant experience. However, there were fruit flies througout and the food was a bit of a letdown. The crab dip looked rich and appealing but lacked any real crab — it was mostly thick cream with little flavor. The crab cake came out with a burnt bottom, and the fries had an overpowering lard taste that took away from the dish. The corned beef and cabbage was one highlight in terms of texture — incredibly moist and well-cooked — but unfortunately, it was quite bland and could’ve used more seasoning. Overall, a lovely place to visit for the ambiance and hospitality, but I left hoping for more from the kitchen.

Google
Kitchen needs to step it up. Onion rings are delicious. Fries were horrible. Bookmaker was disappointing. Food not as good as past visits. Living off of an outdated reputation. Service was terrific! Drinks were not as described.

Erin R.

Google
This place is a vibe complete with a Leprechaun entrance. The baked then fried Brie is awesome. I know you shouldn't eat an entire brick of cheese in one sitting but just make an exception for this one. Good staff too.

Yelp
Baltimores best Reuben sandwich! Large space with lots of private spaces and a bar that's friendly. Specials are generally excellent. All the staples are here too. Bangers and mash, shepherds pie, beer on tap is plentiful from Harp to Sam Adam's and I didn't check but I'd be shocked it Guinness wasn't in large supply. Flavored bourbons and lots of Irish ones too.

Yelp
Some of my dear LARP and Ren Faire friends and I were shopping at the annual Maryland Garb Sale at the fairgrounds. We were quite hungry after shopping. After consulting with the handy dandy Yelp app, we came across An Poitin Stil, and we are so glad. The entire restaurant looks like an old Irish pub, very sort of medieval-ish, and so us being in our ren faire clothes meant we fit in super well! We quickly found the Guinness Harp table in an alcove. Staff came by right away and were quite friendly. Food was excellent, very hearty and tasty. A couple of us got the shepherd's pie and one got the fish & chips. Now, the fun part. It was after the lunch rush, so less busy. We wanted to get some photos of us in our ren clothes in this very ren-style place. Not only were the staff fine with this, they even got a couple of decor items off the walls for us to pose with, and they took photos of us with them. Would we go again? YES. We're planning a meetup soon with our other friends, all of us in garb, to have a lovely meal. It's easy to get to, parking is free, plentiful and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Yelp
We've gone here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and it's fun, but coming here any time other than that is just... meh. We decided to come for an early celebration drink before St. Patrick's Day, and while the inside is really cute and has so much potential, the service is SLOW (we waited at the door with several other people who arrived the same time as us for like 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us/a host to seat anyone, so we just went to the bar). Also, there was literally no music playing at all inside. It was just weirdly silent--why don't Irish pubs at least play *some* Irish music?! Live music wasn't supposed to start until 8, which seems a bit late--especially to go listen to a random 60's tribute band--again, it's March! Give the people what they want! (Irish music.) While we only ordered drinks, the food people around us ordered didn't look that appetizing. The bar definitely could use a deep clean. With the right events, music, and service this place could really be revived but for now--it's a pass for anything other than St. Patrick's Day.

Yelp
We stopped by on Saturday afternoon and the food was good, but service was awful. We sat ourselves, which is fine, but almost every table was still covered with dirty dishes and trash. The table we ended up at was cleared of dishes but had crumbs and spilled sauce. Less than half of the tables were occupied but it took about 15 minutes for a server to bring us menus, and the table was still never wiped off. It took about 20 more minutes for the server to return to take our order. We put everything in at the same time including drinks, one appetizer and three entrees. She brought the appetizer out within a reasonable time but still no drinks. About 15 minutes after that, our food came out and we STILL had not gotten drinks that were ordered at the same time as the food. We reminded the server and she did bring them out but one was not correct. We ended up drinking it anyway rather than waiting until we finished the meal for the correct drink to be brought out. We didn't order refills, mostly because we were NEVER checked on until the end of the meal. The server visited the table across from us probably 4-6 times while we were there. Not sure if it's a staffing issue (again, the restaurant was not that busy and the table across from us was checked on multiple times) but to have two rounds of food brought out before any drinks are brought to the table is pretty poor service.

Yelp
We had lunch on Sunday afternoon, our servicer was attentive , the food was tasty. I had a burger and my spouse a reuben and were happy with everything until we received the bill. We were surprised and disappointed to see a 3 percent fee for paying by credit card added to our check. In this day and age that almost everyone pays by card, a business should accept this as a normal cost of business.

Yelp
Just had lunch there for restaurant week. I had corned beef and cabbage. Deb had the Gaelic Steak. Both were delicious. Our server, Darlene was fantastic. Pleasant and quick with a smile on her face. We will be back for sure. Thank you Darlene for such great service.

Yelp
Went in there around 9:00PM Saturday June 14th to see a band (Remains of Radio) and we waited at the bar to get served but nobody was working the bar. Can you imagine, it's Saturday night and there was no more than 15 people in there, the place was empty and there wasn't anyone at the bar around to take our drinks orders. We asked a passing waitress and asked her if there was anyone available and she snapped and gave us mega attitude! Unbelievably rude. We grabbed our stuff and left. We definitely do not recommend this place to anyone, empty on a Saturday night, no Manager in charge and the service was non existent. Disgraceful attitude by the waitress too.

Kara M.

Yelp
Came here for a work dinner and enjoyed most of the food I tried and the service was great especially considering how large and unorganized our group was. I got the Cherry Lime Crush which was tasty but personally a bit too sweet and concentrated for my liking. For the table we got Onion Rings, Calamari, and the Pretzel Bites&Beer Cheese, all of which were delicious. Myself and a coworker shared the Jerk Chicken Mac&Cheese and the Irish Turkey Club Panini with the old bay potato chips. Neither of us were a huge fan of the Mac and cheese but we both loved the panini. The chocolate lava cake and cheesecake were both delicious!

John B.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner at The Still and the food was awesome. The staff was friendly, and prices were very reasonable. We definitely plan on going back for another date night to try different dishes.

Jay K.

Yelp
Hands-down, the best chicken tenders on York Road. The service is fast and I stop by after games, and the place is not too tight and the people are awesome. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Always the go-to spot for corned beef and cabbage and shepherds pie...and that is exactly what we did around 4 PM Monday. Happy hour was in full swing with beers listed at $4.50 for 16 oz, including our favorites: Guinness stout, Smithwicks, and Dogfish 60.
google avatar

Supriya M.

Yelp
This place is mediocre. It was pretty much empty for happy hour on a Monday. The drinks were meh, the food was ok. There was an odd smell. Not sure I will be itching to go here again.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
Another great night out. Nearly half priced Rueben, $8 instead of $14. The fries were well seasoned. The beer was well poured, so the 5 stars is worth it with the free music. This time we came while the Sham-rogues were playing, and they brought a clogger. It was nice to hear Irish music and see the dancer. If you have time I suggest coming in a Wednesday while the Rueben is cheap and the bands playing.

Yelp
The food I suppose was par but my MD crab was pretty salty and although I didn't care for the taste it was a generous helping. I had the Gaelic Steak which looked amazing and had a smoky flare but lacked something. The Guinness was hearty and smooth along with the bar service on this very busy evening accompanied by a traditional Irish band.

Tom T.

Yelp
We are from Long Island and visit family in Maryland and always make it a point to have dinner here. Best live music ever and incredible pub food. Without a doubt the Best Maryland crab chowder I have ever had, chunks of real crab in every bite and perfectly spicy. Love this place!

Sandy H.

Yelp
My husband and I recently had dinner at The Still, and I was very dissatified! It was like they didn't even try to provide an edible meal. I had the boneless chicken thighs in a whiskey sauce with rice and green beans. The chicken was way overcooked and needed a steak knife just to cut through it. It was like jerky, it was so tough. The rice was completely tasteless and dried out with random crunchy rice that was aweful! The green beans tasted good, but were all over the place in doneness from extremely firm to completely flacid overcooked. The waitress was so scattered and overwhelmed, I just ate what I could and left. Never again...

Yelp
I heard about a new band playing at The Stil and wanted to check them out. The weather was a bit drizzly, but they had umbrellas and tented areas so patrons could still enjoy the live music and eat dinner. The Irish Nachos with corned beef were amazing! So good that I devoured them and then realized I didn't snap a pic. The Fish and Chips was pretty good, although I suspect the fish had been frozen prior to cooking. Most "fresh" fish is previously frozen, but this actually tasted previously frozen if that makes any sense! The band was fun and the drinks were good!
google avatar

Natalie W.

Yelp
Came in for lunch. we ordered fish & chips they made it as requested, and it was good. The fish was fresh, not battered to death, and the chips were hot and fresh also. I ordered the Bangers mash, and it was just OK to me it didn't come with a vegetable like peas just a few slices of cooked red onions. The Bangers were tasty but the mashed potatoes I didn't like because they tasted like packaged potatoes. They have outdoor seating that they call the Paddy-O. We opted to sit in the Paddy-O because it was dark and musty inside, and i didn't want to eat and smell must at the same time. Overall, it was a good experience our server was helpful and polite. We'll be back!

Yelp
I have visited this establishment twice now and have really enjoyed it both times. It's not crowded, you are naturally separated from the other patrons by way of design and the service is great. The food was unique and delicious. My son and I had children's portions the first time which were just right for us. We also loved our appetizers both times. Oh... I can't forget the desserts! We tried the bread pudding, the cheese cake, and the lava cake. All were wonderful. We'll definitely be back.

Brian F.

Yelp
My family has always had good meals. Book maker , fish and chips and gaelic steak are good . Service is super slow, tables need to be a cleaned up , and the outside looks lack luster . I remember when you all opened and wish it would get back that .

Yelp
We went to the Still on Monday because they were having 1/2 price burgers from open to close. What we did not know is that it is only for the Still Burger priced at $9.99; and, it seems, with the 1/2 price burger offer all you get is the 8 oz. Still burger, cheese, and a bun and NOTHING ELSE, according to our server. Even though the menu reads that Grillers and Sandwiches are served with homemade potato chips, French onion dip, and a dill pickle spear. Rebecca, the server, asked my husband if he wanted fries or chips and he said "chips." When she brought the burgers, each plate had a pickle, potato chips and the French onion dip on them. Imagine our surprise when she presented us with the bill with an additional charge for $1.00 for the potato chips. When we questioned her about this, she said that potato chips do not come with the 1/2 price burger offer - then why did we get the pickle and the French onion dip? I think the servers need to fully explain what is included in the 1/2 price burger offer. How cheap can a restaurant be that they would not give you potato chips with your burger? Needless to say, we won't be coming back.

Yelp
A comfy place for locals and visitors. Great food, drinks and happy hour specials on the paddy-o. I recommend the Brie appetizer and chicken tenders- naked or hot. The salads are really good too! Basically, I've never had anything bad here. I'm giving 4 stars because The service is a little slow. Lots of on-site, free parking. If you're considering visiting for St. Pat's Day, plan ahead; the place gets packed!

Yelp
So this was a nice surprise. This quaint Irish Pub popped up in the middle of nowhere. I arrived in the afternoon, so it didn't really boasts the biggest crowd; however, the authentic Irish decor was just what the Leprechaun ordered. They served a nice pint, and a hearty plate of spuds. If I were i were in the area against n, I would certainly stop in again.
google avatar

Rosita C.

Yelp
Old Irish pub. Had the Guinness lamb stew. Busy day and tent outside but really needed some chairs. Drinks were great. Bagpipers were excellent.

Leah T.

Yelp
Food is gross. Like not even the fries are edible. Fine for a drink, good ambience and good service.

Mike D.

Yelp
Got there and were seated right away. A normal person would think that service should be okay. This wasn't true. Our party waited over 20 min just to order some appetizers and two glasses of wine. After another 20 min when someone asked to speak to a manager, the glasses of wine arrived. After another 20 min we asked to speak to someone again, we got our appetizers. They were cold. We paid for the drinks and left. The only way they tried to make it "right" was to take the food off that came out cold and very late.

Nathan F.

Yelp
All of the food we where served on St. Patrick's Day was awful. If you are not going to put forth any effort with food, just serve drinks on St. Patrick's Day.
google avatar

Shaun K.

Yelp
Had the Gaelic steak wasn't too bad. Was very savory with the mushroom and cream sauce. And a few pints of Kilkenny cream ale :-)
google avatar

Justina B.

Yelp
A lovely place for dinner or lunch! My order: calamari and the shrimp tacos. Calamari: crispy and delicious. I thought it needed a little more salt, but that was not a hard fix. Not terribly greasy, which is refreshing. Came with classic tomato based sauce. Also came with sweet chilli sauce- a unique yet tasty touch. Shrimp tacos: 3 shrimp per taco. Heavily seasoned. Tasty too. Large portion- I took 1/3 home. Overall good. Tortillas were clearly heated fresh. Came with homemade chips and onion dip (a little unconventional but nonetheless nice) In a nutshell: Spunky unique environment. Lovely service staff. Large portions. Patio! Nice food!
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
This place was great. We loved the atmosphere. The staff was really friendly and everything we tried was great. I got the fish and chips and it was so good my eyes rolled back in my head (no exaggeration). We definitely be back next time we are in town.

Diane V.

Yelp
Awesome lunch on Christmas eve eve! Was in the area and visited for lunch, the best corned beef sandwich I've had! Tender and not fatty. Fries great too. Went well with a Guinness too. Diane V

Yelp
Had a lovely time hearing an Irish Celtic band called ShamRogues, completely with Irish dancers, and had a very good corned beef and cabbage. While It was a bit stingy on the potatoes it was very tasty. Nice job! Our server was very hospitable. It was nice to hear live music again. We will be back.

Yelp
I will never never never order here again. Ive ordered here several times before and it was ok but inconsistent. So i gave it another chance and my dinner was a real disappointment. I had left over pizza instead. I ordered take out and the pretzel and beer cheese I ordered was awful. The pretzel was so hard but soft in some spots as though it was heated in the microwave. The cheese was runny and flavorless. I ordered a Rachel with saurkraut. Not sure why I keep ordering it, for some reason I keep trying to like it but I had enough! Reubens are my absolute favorite sandwich but I have yet to find one that impressed me like the one I had in NY but of course that was NY, so who was I kidding. The Brussel sprouts were ok... and their crabdip, it's mostly creamcheese and bland and waxy.

Maria B.

Yelp
Shelby is a bartender and is very very a rude. She cussed out my group just because my sister in law asked to order first. She was super rude to CUSTOMERS and I know about holding back from rude customers I work in customer service. I worked at McDonald's for 4 years, I know what it means to want to be rude to customers, yet I had self control as an 17 year old child, unlike Shelby.
google avatar

Renee B.

Yelp
Awesome, awesome service. We had reservation for 11:30 a.m. We arrived as a group and were seated in a timely fashion. Let's just say they were ready for us. We had an awesome waitress by the name of Kristen. She was very friendly and attentive. We took advantage of the Sunday brunch all you can eat for $18.99 per person. There was a selection of drinks that you could add for all you could drink for an added $7.00 a person. Our glasses never stayed empty. It didn't matter if we were drinking water, tea, or the all you can drink selection. We were there to celebrate my aunts birthday. Our party was a group of 10. The selection of food that was available was very tasty. I loved my omelet which included onions, cheese, spinach and bacon. It was delicious. The Omelet man was also very cheerful and friendly. I had my fair share of shrimp, sausage and bacon. LOL. Everyone in our party was pleased not only with the awesome service but, also the quality of the food and the drinks. I did not take advantage of the all you could drink but, I did have a pretty awesome strawberry margarita. My chocolate cake and ice cream was also delicious. I would be willing to return to this restaurant. Check it out if you are in the area.

Yelp
Glad I stopped by. Cozy Irish pub. Will be back. Menu could be updated. But hell it's what you get mostly in UK.

Colleen L.

Yelp
Authentic Irish pub with great food! We went a a little early for dinner and got right in but by the time we left this place was full! Looks like a place where the locals gather after work and is a very popular spot for good reason. Although not local we were welcomed. Our waitress made us feel right at home.

Yelp
We went for a quick bite to An Poitin Stil the other day and it wasn't crowded so we ate outside. Our waitress was very friendly but seemed somewhat rushed. There were two other couples outside where we were sitting. She may have had other tables inside. Drinks took a little time to come but that was fine we had no where to be. I ordered a Bison burger and when it came there was no toppings. I hadn't seen on the menu where I could have ordered several different toppings which is my fault. However our waitress neglected to ask me if I wanted any toppings. I assumed it would come with lettuce and tomato and maybe cheese. Only a plain burger on a bun. Burger was good.

Rachael B.

Yelp
Sadly my food wasn't prepared as I asked...medium burger came out well done and burnt with sad looking french fries. Also, when mentioning to the wait staff they seemed personally offended saying they didn't do the cooking when I was relaying information to tell the cook to prevent this issue occuring in the future. I didn't want a redo or cost change. If you want a burger go to a burger joint (Koopers).

Melody M.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The Servers were wonderful, but the noise level was simply off the charts. My family came up from Southern Maryland and wanted to take me to dinner, we decided on The Stil because we had been there before on similar visits and always enjoyed. There were 3 or 4 musicians setting up as we sat down to dinner. This is a small place and the acoustics are horrendous, nevertheless we settled in for a pleasant evening. Wrong. When the band started, in my zillion years of following bands, I have never heard a group with amps up as high as they go IN A SMALL SPACE! The bar is tiny and the surrounding dining areas are off of the bar. The place is all hard surfaces which magnifies the sound even more. It got so bad that we had to simply stop trying to converse until the band broke. Our lovely young server was a sweetheart but like us, could barely hear anything. If the crew doesn't go home with splitting headaches every night I'd be amazed. We all agreed that The Stil is not someplace you want to have a lovely meal. How sad and unnecessary.
google avatar

Ed G.

Yelp
So we went to the Stil for prime rib night. And I have to say the chef is amazing. We ordered our prime rib medium rare it was both over cooked and cold! It takes a real talent to serve a over cooked yet cold pice of meat to table 12 feet from the kitchen. The best part of the dinner was my Guinness

David R.

Yelp
Simply great food and atmosphere. Beer was cold ad service on the ball. Will go back when in town
google avatar

Ukegal K.

Yelp
I was surprised at how homey a large place like you his could be. Though large with many dining areas it felt cosy without crowding. We had the baked Brie appetizer and ohhhh my... best Brie ever. Couldn't stop eating it...will def go back for more. Next up Gaelic steak with their signature sauce... my son who is a steak aficionado was struck dumbfounded- really surprised at how good it was. The fish and chips were less impressive, a bit bland for my taste, byut rounding off with their homemade bread pudding left me with a big smile. I can't recommend this place enough- and did.I mention they have live music Saturday? Going back next week can't wait
google avatar

Melody M.

Yelp
Met up with my cousins last week and they, from Calvert County, insisted on going here. . . Awesome night with love and laughter and an added bonus of the absolutely delightful service of Taylor! They were super crowded and, like most of the restaurants these days, short staffed. . . we barely noticed. Even if we did wait a tad between things, she always stopped by to tell us she was on it! If I owned a restaurant I'd try to steal her!

Yelp
Location: [10/10] Right by the Maryland State Fairground. Lots of parking. Inside is a very unique ambience - definitely got a pub feel around the bar and the rest of the restaurant is old Irish-themed, complete with armor on the walls and a nice fireplace. Fish and Chips: [8.5/10] Arguably the biggest piece of fried fish you will find, and literally the size of your head (picture below for reference)! It's just a lot of food. However, the fish itself I found relatively bland before adding tarter sauce. It was very crispy when first served but started getting soggy halfway through. Shepherd's Pie: [10/10] This is the real winner right here. Just the biggest shepherd's pie I've seen. Served really hot and the mashed potatoes on top is delicious. Perfect ratio of steak tips to mash to vegetables. Corned Beef and Cabbage: [7/10] Similar to the Fish and Chips, the serving size was awesome (huge portion of beef brisket, we had to take nearly half of it home) but unfortunately, was too bland, even after adding salt and pepper. It was recommended on the menu so a little disappointed there.

Yelp
Atmosphere A+++++ You just can't get any cuter ! We had wonderful waitress and food was delicious ! We had the muscles for an appetizer , I had the corned beef & cabbage and my boyfriend had fish & chips. He rarely takes leftovers home (usually eats it all) but here he had so much food he even took home leftovers !

Yelp
Highly disappointed. I had ordered curbside for St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) the listed "Shepard's Pie in a bread bowl" for $15.00. The photo is what I received. The "bread bowl" was a piece of cut sub roll. There was literally one piece of meat, four little pieces of carrot, a few onions, and peas. I messaged them via their webpage with no response. As a seasonal item, it just made it more disappointing and I wish I had gone elsewhere. My assumption is they did not order enough food to cover the entire day but did not communicate with customers if they were running low on items. This is just a guess and I hope this isn't a regular occurrence to other customers. I also wish they would have responded to my message via their webpage as if they cared about their quality. The order was placed around 4pm with my phone number included so there is no excuse if they needed to check to see if I wanted a substitution. I feel sorry for anyone who ordered later in the night.

Yelp
I get the Josh cab and Cesar salad with salmon. Service is good. Consistently is not good. They have trivia every Tuesday and it's fun. But overall not a bad experience. I would recommend to a friend.

Yelp
if you like bison burgers or have never had one then this is the place to try. unique dishes here and the service is always top notch. lots of parking and a large beautiful wooden bar to boot. good atmosphere, good service, good food.... "what's not to like"
