Yelp
Ana la Santa had the best tapas on our trip to Spain so far. It's more of a restaurant than a pure tapas place of course, with a polished ambiance and slight hipster vibe. To their credit, having a family show up did not mean we were hustled off to a back corner, they put us right up front overlooking the square. You get bonus points for that Ana la Santa, we weren't in our hipster / beautiful people getups. The service was very good, our friendly waiter joked with our son as he tried his best Spanish speaking skills.
As for the dining highlights we enjoyed:
Crispy suckling pig with lime and jalapeño peppers - 8 €
-outstanding bites of moist pork, fried into crunchy goodness. Do not pass this up.
Homemade Spanish tortilla with "pan con tomate" - 7 €
-Unique concoction of potatoes, egg, and the famous regional tomato dish. Worth a try.
Crispy octopus 9 €
-Good stuff
Sautéed piquillo peppers with honey - 7 €
-Yes, it was a dish of cooked peppers, but the slight char they had in conjunction with the mildly sweet honey sauce was almost refreshing.
Rice with Catalan sausage, mushrooms, and asparagus - 16 €
-This one was memorable. It was a wide, paella type pan with a thin layer of perfectly cooked, browned, slightly crusty around the edges rice that was intermingled with savory sausage and asparagus spears (which I avoided). This dish should not be overlooked.
Club sandwich - 12 €
-Our son had the club sandwich and it was one of the best I've had in quite some time...it was almost delicate the way it was put together. The bread was thin, buttered and toasted slightly with damn goodness in between the slices. Good stuff.
