"Ana La Santa is one of two Madrid restaurants from En Compañia de Lobos, a restaurant group out of Barcelona that's a total family affair. Owner Tomas Tarruella founded his first few restaurants with his mother, Rosa Maria Esteva, and while his new restaurant company is actually a solo venture, it lacks none of the creativity and excellent service his family originally became famous for. Chief among his new projects is this Salamanca spot, which offers traditional Spanish food (including an enormous tapas menu) that's not afraid to take risks: Expect several different variations of paella served alongside a quinoa salad, Mexican tortilla soup, and a delicious red curry with Iberian pork cheek. In keeping with family tradition, the bright, verdant, Scandinavian-inspired interiors were designed by Tarruella's sister, Sandra."

We chose this restaurant on a Tuesday evening and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and drink. Neither of us were aware the restaurant was connected to a hotel but nonetheless, our experience was great. We shared an Iberian ham starter and then had an octopus main and a steak. Both were fantastic, especially when paired with the super drink options. The cocktail menu is a decent length and when the drinks came to the table, they both looked and tasted fantastic. Our initial waiter had poor English but tried his best while a second waiter was excellent; both with his bilingual skills and general competence as a server. The service was great but was a small bit slow at times. Overall the atmosphere was good and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal at a decent price.

Went here for breakfast twice during our stay at the hotel here and once at night for a drink. Nice atmosphere morning and night. The cocktails are really good too! Especially the first picture with the dried lime. The second drink that's glowy looking was good too but not my preference.

I love this restaurant ! The employees are really friendly, patient and smiley, they give good advices about the menu. The terrace is great, under the sun and on a quite large plaza. The plate is really enjoyed is the octopus - not that cheap (17€) but one of the best I’ve tried in Madrid.

We had Paella and sangria red Free tap water 54 paella for two and one sangria drink. Very delicious! The manager was very nice to help us mix the paella. We learned from him some tidbits of info.

This restaurant is the perfect mix between traditional kitchen and a modern and friendly place to spend a night with friends. Food is really good, everything was perfectly cooked and served. Above all the presence of Bett is the cherry on top! She's lovely and super helpful in every moment during the dinner!

Our last night in Madrid ended with our best meal. Everything was delicious. Especially the croquette with chicken and potato, the shrimp ceviche and the tuna sashimi on a crispy tortilla. The bonus came when they accidentally served us the fried chicken and, man, were we glad. The chicken was perfectly fried and the mustard sauce was uniquely yum. Recommend making a reservation. Note: Something I saw online seemed to indicate there was rooftop dining but that’s not the case. The tables look out over plaza Santa Anna.

Good place for cocktails. Food is also good. Prices a bit high. Usually have place to sit.

Food was overall good. A little slow on the service. Good vibes for a restaurant.

Yelp
Busy place with really good food. We had the roasted vegetables which had a fantastic wood-fired taste. The croquettes (ham) were very tasty. We also shared the greens (spinach) salad. We lucked out and were sat by the window so we had prime people-watching in the plaza.

Yelp
Saw a lot of mixed reviews online of this spot but came here on a recommendation from a food blog I follow so I trusted it. The restaurant is really pretty and trendy inside and has a very cool vibe. Overall we enjoyed all of the top we ordered, if anything I would say it was slightly overpriced but considering the beautiful atmosphere inside the restaurant you're definitely getting the experience you're paying for. Weirdly enough the service we got here was mediocre compared to other places. I don't know if it was because we were English speakers, but we had to flag waiters down a few times. Taking off one sorry for the slightly weird service and the fact that I think everything is a tad bit overpriced but again the atmosphere here is great so I would still recommend it as a fancier tapas experience.

Yelp
La comida fue increíble, mi madre pidió la lubina y si el solomillo. El único problema era el servicio. Hemos estado separando como 30 minutos para volver la camarera. Al fin fui al bar para pedir postre.

Yelp
Ana la Santa is a nice restaurant located on the west end of la Plaza Santa Ana. They have quite a large footprint inside with beautiful decorations and greenery. Tables are placed around their bar, which is the first thing you see when you enter. They feature quite a number of different dishes. We ordered their fried chicken, tuna, and Spanish tortilla. They brought bread for the table and the tortilla came out with its own serving of bread. I had draft beer and my wife did a dry white wine. The service was a bit slow for my taste, but we were on vacation so it was ultimately okay.

Yelp
FANTASTICO COMIDA!!!!! The breakfast and dinner here were both very good!! It's pricey but worth it. The service is excellent also.

Yelp
Nice place, we had a few tapas off the menu all of which were pretty good - ham, croquetas, ensalada rusa, calamares (I've struggled to remember some of the others even though it was last night so it's an illustration that they were neither memorably bad or good!). I also enjoyed my vermut. We got cold and the server helped us move inside which was kind. The outside seating is in a beautiful square but inside is also a very pleasant environment - a very large bar/restaurant area (somewhat unusual in Madrid) with cool lighting and furniture. There was nothing so amazing that would make me rush back or urge you to go but I certainly would be happy to visit again. I think there were some more adventurous options on the menu that would be worth trying.

Yelp
I had the Iberico jamon special here cut by the chef from different parts of the leg. Each piece tasted different and he chef came over and told me to eat it in a specific order. He was master of his craft and this is the place to understand the cut of Iberico ham and get an appreciation for the delicate taste. It was like a party for my taste buds. Good service as well. My concierge at the hotel had recommended this place and the host Alba took very good care of me. The restaurant is also in a cute plaza so it is a Great location. Honestly I didn't have jamon anywhere else in Spain that tasted like this. A++

Yelp
All in all, the food here is pretty good. Good service. Clean restaurant. Decor is tasteful. You even get a view of Plaza Santa Ana if you're sitting in the balcony area. My only concern were the patatas bravas. To me, they were still a little too firm and there wasn't too much flavour except for the delicious spicy olio sauce. Otherwise, I fully recommend this place.

Yelp
Loved the tapas. Great location right on Santa Ana place. I was there on the early side but the vibe seemed cool.

Yelp
Service is usually pretty bad in Europe in general but this place was appalling. Such a shame because the hotel is quite nice. Please avoid this place.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant for people watching. It's located in a busy area on Plaza de Santa Ana. The food is, for the most part, modern versions of classic Spanish dishes. The menu includes tapas, soups and salads, meat and fish entrees, and large pans of paella for sharing at the table. I've eaten at Ana La Santa several times, and don't think I've had a bad dish. Their steak tartare is the best I've ever had, and the paellas have always been impressive. Typical Spanish tapas like clams, tortilla, and pan con tomate with anchovies are well executed and great for sharing. They have a full bar and a small, but solid wine-list. The service has always been friendly and attentive when I've been there, which is impressive considering how packed the place usually is. I'd definitely recommend making reservations.

Yelp
Ana la Santa had the best tapas on our trip to Spain so far. It's more of a restaurant than a pure tapas place of course, with a polished ambiance and slight hipster vibe. To their credit, having a family show up did not mean we were hustled off to a back corner, they put us right up front overlooking the square. You get bonus points for that Ana la Santa, we weren't in our hipster / beautiful people getups. The service was very good, our friendly waiter joked with our son as he tried his best Spanish speaking skills. As for the dining highlights we enjoyed: Crispy suckling pig with lime and jalapeño peppers - 8 € -outstanding bites of moist pork, fried into crunchy goodness. Do not pass this up. Homemade Spanish tortilla with "pan con tomate" - 7 € -Unique concoction of potatoes, egg, and the famous regional tomato dish. Worth a try. Crispy octopus 9 € -Good stuff Sautéed piquillo peppers with honey - 7 € -Yes, it was a dish of cooked peppers, but the slight char they had in conjunction with the mildly sweet honey sauce was almost refreshing. Rice with Catalan sausage, mushrooms, and asparagus - 16 € -This one was memorable. It was a wide, paella type pan with a thin layer of perfectly cooked, browned, slightly crusty around the edges rice that was intermingled with savory sausage and asparagus spears (which I avoided). This dish should not be overlooked. Club sandwich - 12 € -Our son had the club sandwich and it was one of the best I've had in quite some time...it was almost delicate the way it was put together. The bread was thin, buttered and toasted slightly with damn goodness in between the slices. Good stuff.

Yelp
We stopped here for pre-dinner tapas and some wine. We ordered grilled asparagus, tortilla espanola with pan con tomates, and a bottle of Rioja. The food was delicious and wine enjoyable. The ambiance is very modern and chic. The service was nice but could have been a bit more attentive. The restaurant is inside a nice hotel in Plaza de Santa Ana, a popular hangout among locals and tourists.

Yelp
Ordered the grilled vegetables which were great but the seafood paella caused concern. The clams were "muddy", not fresh, and inedible. The whole dish was overwhelmed with that thick, heavy, too-much-squid flavor...not to mention there were no prawns as stated on the menu. Service wasn't good either but not the worst.

Yelp
Sophisticated setting in the gorgeous Melia Reina Victoria on Plaza Santa Ana. Pricey but worth it for the elegant space and quality food. Eggs and Jamon dish on the dinner menu was fantastic and something I've been wanting to order for dinner so many times! Pop up to the roof top lounge for EUR 15 which gets you in with a drink to a swank setting with a sexy vibe.

Yelp
Extremely poor customer service. I even asked to talk to a manager and was ignored! Pick another place.

Yelp
Very good wine choices , the starters are real good but the best of the night was the jamon iberico plate where's we can try different tastes. Don't loose it

Yelp
Overpriced tourist trap with poor service. The breakfast menu goes until noon. I arrived a few minutes before noon hoping to have breakfast (I hadn't yet eaten and the lunch menu didn't appeal) and was informed at 12:03pm that there was no way I could be served breakfast. There was a Spanish omelet listed on the lunch menu, so I asked if it would be possible to just have a plain omelet. Was told that that would be impossible, because it would be a breakfast. We ordered the Spanish omelet and a burger. It took a long time for the food to come, and in the interim we couldn't locate a waiter from whom to ask for some water. We were at one of only 3 occupied tables (none of which were getting any service either). The food itself was bad (my boyfriend could only force down half of the burger), and overpriced. Avoid!

Yelp
One of the biggest rip offs in Madrid. 11 euro for a cocktail. And it was poor to mediocre. Stay away at all costs. Places like this should be driven out of business.

Yelp
Just the spot to chill dressy or super casual, great atmosphere and choice of seating areas, try not to sit too close to the laptop crowd, and definitely try the huge choice of G & T's may well be worth a hotel stay at the Me by Melia in the future as St Anne's Square is our sort of place

Yelp
Our best meal in Spain so far. After tapas for days it was nice to find a steak cooked to perfection! I'd definitely recommend.
