A Summer Wellness Getaway in Budapest's Storied Baths

"Skin-softening Lake Hévíz mud is also the star of a signature offering at the Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel’s cocooning underground spa; in this rendition, it's applied to the back and paired with a milky lavender foot bath, sea salt and olive oil scrub, and a coconut oil body massage."

Our dinner at the White Salon was truly memorable. The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a fantastic bottle of aged wine, and the waiter’s thoughtful explanation of its history added a special touch that elevated the entire experience. The hotel was spotless and beautifully maintained. Every staff member we encountered greeted us warmly, which made us feel genuinely welcomed. Breakfast was another highlight—both the buffet and in-room dining were excellent. A special mention to the lady from Guest Relations who went above and beyond by waiving our minibar charges—an incredibly kind gesture that reflected the hotel’s outstanding hospitality. The in-room terraces are spacious, and the view from the Presidential Suite is simply breathtaking. The interior design throughout the hotel is elegant and truly impressive. One moment that stood out during our stay was when we were upgrading to the Executive Suite with a terrace. We had checked out of our previous room at 12:10 PM and left our luggage at reception, with the understanding that our new room would be ready by 1 PM. However, it wasn’t, and we were told it might only be available by 3 PM due to standard policy. Even by 3 PM, the room was still not ready. At 3:30 PM, I approached the Guest Relations desk to share our disappointment. The lady there responded with empathy and professionalism, and within 10 minutes, she had arranged a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful suite. Her prompt action and warm attitude completely turned our experience around and left us deeply impressed with the level of service. Anantara New York Palace exceeded our expectations in every way—with its hospitality, ambiance, and attention to detail. We look forward to returning.

I had a wonderful stay at the Anantara New York Budapest Hotel. The staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. They greeted me as a special guest and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They were always available to answer any of my questions or respond to a request. The White Salon Restaurant was relaxing and wait staff extremely attentive. The cold salmon appetizer in mustard and dill sauce became a favorite and I ordered it 2 nights in a row. The dining room, which overlooks the famous cafe was stunningly beautiful and elegant. I highly recommend this hotel, with its fabulous location and staff.

We stayed here as part of an extension to a Viking River Cruise. The room we were allocated (757) was amazing- far beyond our expectations. Huge room with a kitchenette and a big bathroom with bath, shower and two sinks. Beds extremely comfortable. We also had a large private balcony- unfortunately the door lock was so stiff we couldn't get it open. Maintenance came to check and show us how to do it but we still found it very difficult so sadly missed out on using it. There was also a weird clicking noise occasionally in the kitchenette. Apart from the bathroom there were no plug sockets close enough to mirrors to allow you to do hair etc. The room was also quite hot even with the AC on full blast. Despite these niggles it's still one of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in!||The breakfast alone is worth staying with as it is in the most amazing surroundings, one floor below the famous New York Cafe (where so many people queued to get in each day!). The breakfast itself had a lot of choice though sadly some of the hot options were cold (some elements were not on a hot tray or under a lamp). The coffee too was a bit cold and there was no offer of refills. It was nice to be able to have a prosecco though!

I had a wonderful stay at Anantara New York Palace Budapest . The live chef ( Kókai Zoltán) at the breakfast restaurant was one of the kindest people I’ve met. He had such a warm, movie-like presence — smiling, engaging, and making the experience feel personal and special. And Orcován Kristóf who served me that morning so polite, respectful, and kind. His gentle way of speaking and how he paid attention to every little detail really stood out. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The design is so pretty and eye-catching, it’s hard not to stop and stare at everything. Honestly, if I could live here forever, I wouldn’t say no.

I stayed in Room 215, a Grand Premium Room with City View. The check in was from 1500 hours, but I attended earlier at around midday to drop off my luggage. The staff there were very attentive, helpful and welcoming, and to my surprise and luck my room was ready and I was able to check in 3 hours early which made the rest of my day so much easier! My first impressions of the hotel and my room were absolutely breathtaking. The room was super spacious, clean, and had beautiful furniture. The bed was very comfortable, and had bedside USB, type C and UK plugs which was very unexpected but very handy! Bed and breakfast was an option I had included, this was dining in the Atrium which had beautiful views of the whole New York Cafe, breakfast was from 0700 hours and included an item from an a la carte menu, and unlimited buffet which has cold, hot and dessert options. The eggs Benedict were delicious, topped with crispy thinly grated potatoes. The hotel had an inclusive Spa. The Spa opens from 0900 hours to 2100 hours, I attended from the opening. The Spa was also breathtaking and clean, with beautiful architecture which was very calming. It included a sauna, steam room, showers, a relaxation room which had included lemonade, tea, coffee and water amongst some cold lemon scented towels and dried fruits. It also has a large pool, which was to me more of a large, heated jacuzzi which was also very pleasant. My overall experience was exclusive, the staff and facilities were faultless. I highly recommend this hotel and it's facilities, which also has easy access to the several restaurants within.

Couldn’t recommend this hotel more. We were able to walk to many great sights and landmarks within only 10-20 minutes (Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion). There are lots of restaurants, parks, shopping and bars only a short walk away. It is definitely in a very touristy area with the hotel restaurant (New York Cafe) constantly having a long queue, which makes sense since the interior is so beautiful. The service is great with all workers being polite, professional and fast. All the staff spoke English which made it very easy to communicate. I had some questions for the staff prior and during my stay, and they were prompt and responsive via email. I appreciate them putting up with my constant questions! I also recommend booking one of the suite options which include breakfast, and a complimentary car service to/from a train station or airport. Would love to stay here again!

The hotel is very opulent and tastefully decorated. Our junior suite room was incredible and worth every penny. The small terrace with seating was semiprivate and was a welcome addition. Lastly, the staff was absolutely on point and amazing. Oh and the New York Cafe is attached and as a hotel guest you don’t have to wait in the public line outside 😉. Don’t hesitate booking your room.

Staff incredibly helpful all the way around. No matter how small or big the questions or requests were. They managed to have an answer. Breakfast staff also above and beyond. Karolina the breakfast host. Shared what was local offerings. That I should try and experience at breakfast. As well as local must have local eateries. Which is great help when wandering the city.
