We’ve been to Ana Sophia’s a few times now. Each time it’s clean, great service, and hot fresh food. Family friendly and a scale above typical Mexican food joint. The food has great flavor and the chips and salsa are a hit. We also tried the dessert- Churros are a must!

We dinned in on Sunday 11/10. We were looking for authentic mom and pop kinda mexican food and boy did this place come through. First off, the staff were all kind, attentive and social. They even offered a family who came in for a pickup order some water while they grabbed their order. The owner took time to chat with us, make recommendations as did our waiter, and the owner Miguel even provided us with a sample he felt we had to try! The food was so prompt, not to mention fresh. We ordered the chimichanga with fajita chicken topped with queso, the queso bowl, flautas dinner, sopapias and were given a sample of the churro to try. Absolutely nothing disappointed. If I had to recommend any of the items we had, it would hands down be the chimmichanga with fajita chicken and queso topped, as well as the churro. Never had we had a chimmichanga with fajita items inside but I never want to eT a chimmichanga any other way. It was phenomenal. The churro was they best I've ever had. The coating was perfect, it was Crunchy on the outside and perfectly goey on the inside with the most delectable dulce de Leche in and around the churro. The waiter said when you get a full order it comes with ice cream... i honestly just want a churro and a nice cup of coffee. Mmmm. The chicken in the flautas was very flavorful, the Crispiness was perfect. They spritsed some type of.. i assume it was lime juice on top with the Lettuce and tomatoes and It added even more fresh flavor to an already flavorful dish. It was served with sour cream and guacamole... again the guacamole was so fresh and flavorful. I find that at lots of restaurants you get one or the other... but here, they nailed both! The rice was wonderful, the beans were ok.. but i feel that I found them just ok because everything else was so astounding. We also ordered the Sopapias which are my partner's favorite and he said these are the best ones he's had in 20 years. They were of a decent size. Nicely crusted on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, the cinnamon and sugar dusting was the right amount and even the honey they give for drizzling was delicious. I highly recommend getting the queso it was a nice treat and a decent amount for the bowl size. I can't say enough good things about this place. It has become our new favorite spot and we will be making the 45 minute drive to visit again without hesitation!

Google
Excellent service and excellent food - the presentation was phenomenal and wonderful flavor throughout. I got the bean soup with my shrimp tacos and was not expecting much, but it might have ended up being my favorite just because I was so surprised at how delicious it was! Shrimp tacos were fantastic too. I loved how they diced them up a bit so you didn’t just get a four mouthfuls of shrimp and then separately eat the rest of the tortilla, but each bite was shrimp, cheese, and pico. Also…the salad was colorful and fresh. Wait staff are highly attentive without being overbearing. We’ll be back very soon!!!!

Google
Fantastic small business family owned Mexican restaurant are the place to grab authentic food. I ordered the brisket chimichanga, I want to try all the protein selection they have from chicken to beef fajita and ground beef if that’s your jam! I’m sure every thing else on the menu lives up to the hype. The only grape I have is that it wasn’t piping hot. It was warm/cold, still tasted great. Atmosphere was nice, service was A1. Will be back to try tacos for lunch! The chips and dip was a great starter. They had spicy queso, I ordered a side of it and was blown away!

Google
Nice!! We went there on a Friday evening and it was 80% full. They do have a bar. Nice date night. Prices reasonable. I ordered the Amelia's. Yanno to counteract the yummy no so healthy items. They are yummy vegetable enchiladas. He got chimichangas. They were both yummy! I almost ate mine before I took a picture. But I took some pictures. Place was clean. Music was fitting. Mostly adults when we came. Waiter was great! I ordered a mango margarita (yum)! Oh they do out a patio too. Great place. Oh and they have a TV showing basketball so...

Yelp
Sometimes you find some of the best places almost by accident. When the restaurant we intended to go to was closed, we found this place. Yelp said it's the most viewed Tex-Mex restaurant in Allen and after tonight I understand why. This is a small family run place and there is another level to the love that is put into what they do. The ambiance and service are a bit homey, and that's alright in my book. I ordered Queso and it was delicious. I also ordered Chicken Fajitas, and they pretty much rocked. For dessert we had Churros and omg, I shouldn't have, but was glad I did! Review #2103

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while and thought I'd check it out. Last visit the solid Tex Mex satisfied. This trip a few soft spots but overall good enough. My cheese enchilada with rice, beans and crunchy beef taco was good. However, the food could have been hotter and the taco meat was on the salty side. The tacos Polanco were made with fajita meat which was delicious. However, the guacamole was a feeble attempt after thought. The customary complementary chips are substandard and salsa just ok. Prices are still decent for 2024 but creeping up. After letting this review simmer overnight I've decided. Three stars is what they deserve. That's tough because they used to be so good. However, when I really dig down to uncover how I feel, these guys are last on my list for Tex Mex and there's good reason. I'm sure if they wanted to they could flirt with five stars but, the" want to 'has left the house. Seems they're satisfied with just good enough. Revised menu nus one star

Yelp
We tried Anasofia's for dinner, and we loved the food. The ambiance was also perfect, and the service was good, though it was difficult for us to communicate what we wanted in English and understand the lady serving us as she was talking mainly in Spanish. Regardless, we got exactly what we ordered. We were a group of 6 and ordered vegetarian and non-vegetarian items on the menu; every item was good. They have delicious margaritas as well. Since I am a vegetarian, I will write about what I tried specifically. For starters, we had the chips & salsa. I had Chili Relleno ( vegetarian version with no meat or beef) for the main course, and it was super yummy! We will be back to this place. It is a must-try!

Yelp
We went by early on a Saturday had a great meal (chicken enchiladas covered in spinach and ranchera, a shredded chicken chimichanga. Frozen margs were on point. Service was friendly and the red and green salsas were solid.

Yelp
Small Family Business that offers delicious food, from Pescado al Mojo de Ajo to Tex-Mex Enchiladas. Their Tres Leches Cake and Flan are a bomb full of flavor. The service is quick and caring. The ambiance is intimate and homey. A wonderful spot to get a well rounded and exquisite Top Shelf Margarita after a tough day at work. Miguel and team truly care for all customers that come in. Miguel treats everyone like family. An amazing place to enjoy a delicious meal and have a great time.

Yelp
I want to love small businesses! We visited on May 9th, 2025. We were greeted happily and seated promptly at lunch on a Friday. There were about 6 people in the restaurant at about 12:30 pm. I first noticed how stocked the bar was. A nice area and a wide range of alcohol. Place looked clean around the table areas. We were seated next to the bar. TV's were visible from most seating areas. I ordered a top shelf margarita which is a must for trying a New Mexican restaurant and it was good! $13.50 but it was a good drink. Personally, I think lowering the price of the drinks a bit would bring more people in. We ordered lunch chicken fajitas for one to split. There was plenty of food but the down side is the food was not very flavorful. In addition, the chicken and green peppers were large pieces so even to put them on your tortilla you had to cut them with a knife into smaller pieces. The hot sauce was very bland and we asked for a hotter spicier version which we tried and ... still bland. We ended up mixing the green, red and "spicy" versions all together but still bland. The chips were good and appeared to have been homemade. The flour tortillas were an odd color of yellow and after tasting my husband knew they had been cooked in butter instead of a healthier olive oil or such. I know this is a small place with not much space but there were plenty of seating booths so I'm not sure why in an open area exposed to all patrons was a lot of unopened boxes and cleaning supplies and clutter (I've included a photo). Our server was lovely and attentive. So the best part about this visit was the drink, service, and the chips. We can't go back based on those three things.

Yelp
Delicious brisket tacos and bean soup. Liked the salad also. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
It's a decent tex mex option, but in a sea of tex mex restaurants, it didn't do enough for us to return. I would say that it is most similar to Salsa Tex Mex in terms of offerings and flavor. We tried the fajitas, enchiladas, and can easily say we've had better at multiple places around the metroplex, and in the area. The food wasn't bad, but nothing stood out and nothing you couldn't find better in a 10 mile radius. Chips weren't fresh, salsa tasted mediocre, tortillas weren't fresh, and they serve sodas in cans. Service was a little lackluster but I won't factor one waiter into our score. Ambiance was pretty standard for a strip mall tex mex restaurant, with a small patio out front by the parking lot. It wasn't good enough for us to return, even if someone invited us...we'd probably try to suggest something else. It's not terrible, but there's better. Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Price: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5

Yelp
Easiest review yet - go there! I can't believe I've read countless reviews from others in the area and we've never tried it. What a hidden gem! Hands down some of the best food we have had. All of it. Margarita - amazing. Food - delicious, so many great flavors, service, Excellent. Can't wait to make this a regular stop!

Yelp
A friend recommended Anasofia's because she knows I am very picky about my frozen margaritas. And Anasofia's did not disappoint! But, of course margaritas aren't the only thing that make a great Mexican food experience. The food was OUTSTANDING, the service super friendly, the atmosphere small, intimate, clean, welcoming. I had the brisket tacos, which were delicious, and my husband had the shrimp tacos which were also fantastic. We shared a melted queso appetizer with sautéed poblano peppers, onions, and mushrooms that was to die for. Their borracho beans on the side were amazing. I make the best beans ever, but I've met my match! There were plenty of other tempting items we could've easily chosen from so we will definitely be back to try more!!! Servings were generous, so I am looking forward to our leftovers!

Yelp
Food was delicious and the service was great. If you're looking for a smaller, family owned restaurant, and not a chain restaurant, give them a try.

Yelp
Anasofia's exceeded my expectations! The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic--especially the street tacos and enchiladas. The vibrant decor and warm hospitality made the experience even better. Service was excellent, and I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Saying this once again (for the 2nd time this week but saying it with nothing but sincerity in my heart). I love this place...big warm welcome to everyone that walks thru the door, HUGE family friendly feel, good food and THE BEST cold margaritas in town!! Never gets old... Salud

Wow tried this for the first time and it was amazing! I am pretty picky about my tacos but the brisket tacos were wonderful and juicy. But my new favorite was the churros! We have found our new place!!!

Yelp
My wife and I love this place. I almost didn't leave a review because I don't want anyone to go there so when I visit next time, I don't have to wait to get a seat. It's good. People are nice. Food is great. Great neighborhood place.

Yelp
Allen Texas needs places like this. It's not a chain, customer service is beyond incredible, and the food in consistent and wonderful every time we visit. I'm happy to be dining out again, and I'm ecstatic that we have Anasofia's in Allen to enjoy for family dinners.amily out and about and have some Mexican food. In particular, I was craving mole sauce. I can still recall the first time I had mole sauce at Anasofia's, it was pretty incredible. On my previous visit, I asked them to make me a burrito similar to what i used to order when I lived in Northern California. in California a lot of places make what was called a "web burrito", meaning the sauce was covered over the burrito and the cheese on top of the sauce. Anasofia's made this for me and it was awesome. My family and I were seated quickly, it was a Saturday night, so I was happily surprised that we were able to be seated pretty quickly. Our drink orders were taken pretty fast and brought to our table with a great attitude. Even though we had a waitress, several others constantly asked was there anything we needed. We ordered our food. My wife ordered enchiladas, I ordered the off menu item mentioned previously (mole burrito), my daughter ordered a regular burrito and my son ordered shrimp tacos. The food came out quickly and everything was incredible. I'll say again, the mole covered burrito was awesomely incredible. Allen Texas needs places like this. It's not a chain, customer service is beyond incredible, and the food in consistant and wonderful every time we visit. I'm happy to be dining out again, and I'm ecstatic that we have Anasofia's in Allen to enjoy for family dinners. I give Anasofia's my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger line: "I'll be back!!"

Yelp
Great food and great service me and my family have been here multiple times and it's always great. Great atmosphere. I was going to take a pic of my food but it was so good I couldn't put my fork down.

Bob A.

Yelp
Food was not to my liking. No seasoning as Mexican food needs to be. Should have taste without taking the flesh off your tongue.

ItsMy O.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best Mexican food we had. The staff is so friendly, the drinks are amazing- martinis were fire. Fast service. Get the churros, so warm and the perfect way to end the meal. We'll be back soon.

Joanna S.

Yelp
Service was amazing. Food was average, but the bean soup was the best I've ever had! The deserts were good, too.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Best place around!!!!! So fresh and attention to detail!!!! This is our new go to Mexican restaurant!!!
google avatar

Sophia Z.

Yelp
Service was wonderful! Mole enchiladas were delicious, the mole sauce was really good! The rest of the food was not good, zero flavor. We tried the steak fajitas, guacamole, steak tacos, chicken enchiladas. Would return only for the mole enchiladas

Yelp
Came on a Friday and had a brief wait for a table. It was worth the wait! Cadillac margarita and Combo Fajita, our kid had Salmon. Server moved things along and was very nice. Atmosphere was a little loud, everyone sounded like they were enjoying good food and company. Here's to Friday night!

Julia

Yelp
The food is great, skinny margarita is my favorite! I love the queso too. The service is always good as well.
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
The Yelp reviews are all true!! We tried the ribeye Fajitas, served over a medly of yellow squash, zucchini, and green bell peppers. Delicious!
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
The service was beyond amazing. My husband and I brought our two small children and all of the servers checked in on us and made us feel so welcome. The food was really great too. I wish we lived nearby. I'll dream about that mole sauce!

John G.

Yelp
I ordered the two burrito plate to go with chilli con carne.... What I got was 2 flour tortillas with ground beef slim, 3 shreads of cheese on a ton of lettuce, and a salad dressing container of greese. How is that a burrito? Don't bother.. pass. Rip off. Ashamed, they are in Allen.

Yelp
Simply fantastic on all points. Understand that after living in the North Dallas For the past 17 years, my wife and myself have been unable to find authentic Mexican food - as when have enjoyed when visiting the many areas of Mexico over the years. With this being stated, this restaurant has achieved the highest mark for "authentic" Mexican food in the North Dallas area. Our meal was especially enjoyable due to the very pleasant wait staff, including the family matriarch who actively ensured that everyone truly enjoyed their meal. We did not have an opportunity to enjoy a dessert- as we were pressed for time. However, we are certainly looking forward to returning soon and exploring more dishes. This is truly a great family owned and managed Mexican gem.

Yelp
I love the salad with grilled chicken and margaritas are unbelievable good especially mango one . Service is very friendly and ambiance is very pleasant I would definitely recommend it .

Yelp
I find the recipes to be very ordinary. The presentation of the plates seems hurried and thrown together.

Yelp
For this new location in prosper, you'd think you'd get more. The food was good but the service was not good. The hostess seemed annoyed a large table was asking to be seated (table of 8). When we asked her she just got the table ready walked off and was like "over here".... I didn't realize asking for a table would upset a hostess that bad. It took forever to get our drinks. The waitress seemed lost and forgot about our table. The busboy kept asking if we needed anything else and he brought us more napkins and was about to bring extra chips but then our actual waitress appeared and she seemed upset cause he was helping. She told him it was her table and she would take care of it. Overall, I would try this place again due to it being down the street and the food wasn't horrible... but I am hoping that this was just an off day and next time the food and service will be up to par.
google avatar

Greg L.

Yelp
Love Anasofia's. We always have margaritas on the rocks here and we always comment wherever we are that they are not as good as Anasofia's. We've had just about every entree on the menu and never been disappointed. I always look forward to the guiso.

Yelp
Alright all you new Texans, this is your chance to understand a big part of living here... Tejano cowboy food, aka Tex-Mex! If you think you are hungry, they will show you who the boss is! Be sure to set yourself up to have something like flan or tres-leches cake at the end of your meal. This tells your brain you are satisfied and "seals the deal." Anasofia's isn't some cantina where the food takes a back seat to the margaritas. The food is consistently ( five stars in my parlance ) well-prepared, fresh and tasty. However, if you are interested in the medicinal fermentations of the agave plant, this is the place to sample as they have the good stuff. The dining room decor is a sort of cozy modern with a touch of elegance, like that of a rancher who's found oil on the property ( so Texan! ). If you don't want something really spicy, don't order Tacos Polanico, the menu says it has serrano peppers in it. You should order fajitas. Now they've dialed it back for you, and we aficionados have to get it back the way it was. Maybe the boss can put an "extra hot pepper" notice on the menu for you.

Yelp
We were visiting and was looking for a great Mexican food restaurant. This place is great! Food is delicious and the customer service was outstanding! Definitely a must if you are in the mood for Mexican food. Very casual dining experience ;very good all the way around.

Yelp
Been here twice in the last few months and both times I opted to try the enchiladas de mole. For starters, the service has been great to acceptable (most recent visit.) Table salsas are decent, but I highly recommend asking for their molcajete. It's one of the better ones I've tried in DFW. First visit m everything was a 5/5. Most recently, my tortillas were a little on the chewy side for my liking, beans lacked in flavor and seemed like they needed a little more, and the rice was slightly bland. Mole and preparation of the chicken were on point both times. My dad had the fajitas most recently and enjoyed his entire meal as well as the table salsas. Based on my last visit I probably won't be rushing back, but I would like to try their tamales one day.

Yelp
Tried this place on a whim as my bride wanted to try a new Tex-Mex restaurant in North Dallas area. Greeted & seated promptly. Waiter came promptly as well staff to bring us chips & 2 different types of salsa. Took drink orders as well promptly received them and took our food order. We order Carne Asada and Tacos El Carbon. Came hot, fresh & was delicious! Our waiter was amazing & we have become instant fans! Highly recommend to any Tex-Mex enthusiast!

Yelp
Highly recommend Anasofias. The service is phenomenal. Above and behind polite. Highly recommend the Gabriel, the tamale dinner and any of the enchiladas. The management and wait staff is great!

Yelp
Best Mexican food I've had in a long time! Carne Asada and the Carlos mixed plate were excellent, Topo Chico came with frosted cold glasses. Great and friendly service.
