Everything from the octopus 🐙 to the Anassa chips for appetizers were great! For the entrees you can select your fish of choice and they prepare it to perfection. I went with the lamb chops with the lemon potatoes which were amazing. Service was good but the place was packed so I get it. Overall great experience 🙌🏽

Visited for a birthday dinner with family and the food/service were phenomenal! The appetizers had us so full! The entrees were all amazing! I throughly enjoyed each course as well as the sangria. My faves were the Greek sausage and lamb chops- cooked to perfection! HIGHLY recommend for a special celebration or an intimate dinner. The restaurant is very stylish with great ambiance. LOVED it!!

First time there. Restaurant vibes were great. It seemed busy and lots of tables were packed. Bar was busy as well. Food was very good. However, the service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress didn’t fully speak English, but proceeded to correct us on the pronunciation of the dishes. She was very condescending and only warmed up to us once my friend started speaking Greek to her. She did not walk around the table to take the order. I felt like I was ordering at a pub because I was basically screaming my order to her since the place was so loud. She then never came back to check on the table at all. Food came out very late and in batches. Not because it was busy, it was because they didn’t have anyone running the plates. I cancelled an order because somehow it never showed up to the table with everything else, once I called a busboy to ask to call the waitress over, she decided to come like 10 minutes after. By then everyone else was finished with their dishes so I canceled mine. I would probably go there once more to get the vibe again, and see if these are recurring issues. I will definitely not go back during dinner time, seems like they are not ready for a packed house. Again, food was good, for what we had. Drinks were not strong, but not weak either. They were ok restaurant drinks. Service was 1/10 and if I was given the same server I would request a different one. She was terrible. Being pretty and blonde doesn’t mean she has to be condescending, inattentive and rude.

Google
Can’t say enough about this restaurant. Been dining here for years and never written a review. Food is always on point, drinks are always great. Staff is phenomenal, managers are always taking care of everyone. It’s a great space, even for events.

Google
My first visit to this restaurant won’t be my last. The food was delicious, from the Skordalia, the zucchini chips, and lamb chops to the lava cake finish. Service was equally wonderful—friendly and responsive on all levels. I also enjoyed the casual atmosphere combined with a fine dining sensibility and attention to detail.

Google
There are many Greek restaurants in Astoria, : Anassa became my favorite. Everything was excellent—the food, the service, and the ambiance. My only suggestion would be to lower the music volume or consider playing something more calming, like classical or higher-frequency music, to enhance the overall atmosphere.

Google
TOP NOTCH!!! I highly recommend Anassa Estiatori in LIC! I frequently dine there with family and friends, at least monthly, given my Westchester residence. Reservations are essential. For my recent 40th birthday celebration, I collaborated with Dimitri, George, and Antoni to host 30 adults and 8 children. Their support was exceptional. The atmosphere was superb, the cuisine consistently delicious, and the service outstanding. Dimitri and his team provided a truly familial hospitality. I look forward to planning our next event there.

Google
Good ambience and great service. The lamb chops and octopus; both were really good overall. Though, I’d say the octopus had a bit too much dill; it kind of took over the flavor. I also ordered the truffle fries, but they came out more like baked truffle potatoes , which ruined the whole truffle fry experience. Wouldn’t recommend getting those.

Yelp
I really wish I could give this place 5 stars, but I can't bring myself to do that. The food was amazing. It was Mother's Day and fairly busy, but not as busy as I've been to other restaurants which were more able to handle the volume. We were told that we had a time limit of 2 hours, because they need the table, yet... It took over an hour to receive our main course. Without anyone telling us anything. After we became frustrated and asked we were told "five minutes or less" which was false information, because it came out in like 15 to 20 minutes. We ate our food quickly. At that point we were very hungry. We had to wave down our server to ask for the check. When he arrived he asked if we'd like to see the dessert menu or have some coffee. With the time we waited coffee should have been offered to us for free at that point. Any sort of gratitude would have been nice, but hey they didn't even really come often enough to refill our water so what am I thinking? The ambiance was beautiful. Nice artwork and lighting. I'd also like to add that it seemed like they paid closer attention to the larger groups & less to the smaller families. Overall a good experience food wise. Doubt we will ever return.

Yelp
I showed up for Sunday brunch and the place was spacious and calm, like I accidentally wandered into a fancy Greek villa instead of a loud New York joint (they even played base heavy island music that actually let me hear my thoughts). The servers were friendly and helpful, like they knew you were there to vibe and not audition for a food show. Free bread and hummus came out lightning fast, then each dish, octopus, Greek sausage, sea bass skewers, landed one after the other like well choreographed Greek Gods delivering snacks, citrusy and peppered with capers galore. Totally chill vibes, and I left thinking, "I'll never look at Sunday the same way again."

Yelp
Anassa is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Queens. I took my parents here for Mother's Day last year and they wanted me to take them here again for Father's Day tonight. We made reservations because it's super busy on holidays. The interior of the restaurant is fantastic. It's beautiful, clean and classy. The waitstaff is always attentive and efficient too. I recommend the Madame Onassis drink, which does not taste like alcohol and has popping boba! So delicious! We had fried calamari and Anassa chips for apps. Both were so good and I love their tzatziki so much. It's rich, creamy and simple yet amazing! My dad got the Greek salad and he loved it. I haf the kefte kabab platter, which I ordered before and loved. The meat was super fresh and flavorful. My mom had the salmon and my dad had the burger. Everyone loved their meals and we ended with baklava. Always a pleasure dining at this gem!

Yelp
Food was excellent. We weren't expecting the bread service and it was so good! The restaurant was very clean and we sat right next to the window which was very nice. We look forward to going back!

Yelp
One of the best Greek restaurants I have been to in NYC, in the heart of Astoria. The service is top-notch and the ambiance is festive and authentic. I recommend: the octopus, lamb chops,Tzatzicki, Chilean Sea Bass. meatballs, and classic Greek Salad!

Yelp
Not only is Anassa a beautiful restaurant to admire, the ambiance is perfect for a date night, girls night or family outing. And the food is absolutely delicious, kudos to the staff that is both super friendly and accommodating!

Yelp
First things first- the Madame Onassis drink is absolutely amazing!!! As a peach lover, it was first love at first sip- the cocktail reminds me of a peach candy/ boba tea. It came with popping peach boba as well, absolutely refreshing and not too sweet. Our other drinks were also good and strong but again Madame Onassis was the star of the show for me. My friend got the filet mignon kebab which was a small portion of food but he said he enjoyed it. I got the kefte kebab which was good but the lamb was a bit dry. Overall, the service and vibe was lovely and upbeat. I'm definitely coming back for my Jackie O drink!!

Yelp
We placed an order through DoorDash because it was the only platform that offered delivery beyond the usual range--for an extra fee. This was specifically for **Mother's Day**, a very important occasion for us. Unfortunately, when the delivery person arrived at the restaurant to pick up our order, they were told that the restaurant does not work with DoorDash. I was then informed over the phone that you only partner with Uber Eats and Grubhub. If that's the case, why is your full menu available for ordering on DoorDash? This not only ruined our Mother's Day plans, but it also wasted the time and effort of the delivery driver, who traveled all the way to Astoria to pick up an order that didn't exist. Additionally, I feel compelled to mention that even when we dine in, the service can be very slow--sometimes it takes a long time just to receive a menu, let alone the food. It's disappointing and has discouraged us from coming back. I hope you take this feedback seriously and work toward improving both your organization and your service. Thank you.

Yelp
Super cute spot - perfect for a date night or just a special dinner. We share the octopus (amazing and perfectly tender), the meatballs (yummy) and split a whole branzino (perfectly cooked). We even got to pick our own fish. Service was friendly and helpful. Great place.

Yelp
Celebrated our friends big birthday at Anassa and it was a success, thanks to her boyfriend for planning. The place was decorated so cute and the plates and glasses were so pretty. The hostess and waitress of ours (Melanie & Naomi) were so friendly and welcoming. We had a large party of about 15 people and they took care of us really well. The drinks were tasty, appetizers and entrees to dessert were really good and filling. Thank you again Naomi for being so good at your job! Will definitely come back again. Favorite dishes were the filet mignon kebab medium rare, grilled shrimp, anassa chips, fried calamari and Mediterranean spreads.

Yelp
Anassa Taverna has very good drinks and seating arrangement. Their food was rather pricy, but very tasty!

Yelp
I came here for dinner with my fiancé and his family for a wedding celebration of family friends. I had never been to any of the locations for this restaurant but I was very happy to come to the one in Astoria as my introduction. This is a newer location, it is spacious, open and has a trendy feel. The rustic decoration makes it feel like you are in a nice winery in Greece. They had a pre-set menu for our party of 13 people that was beautifully printed with a cute design and the names of the couple. The meal had abundant food and drinks, it was truly a great environment for a celebration. The waiters were very attentive of our table and it never felt like anything was missing. I tried some white wine and it was refreshing, smooth, and dry. For food, we tried a myriad of things and everything I sampled was delicious. - Greek salad: refreshing produce, with the perfect amount of feta and olives. One of my favorite Greek salads that I've had at a restaurant. - Dips: we tried the tzatziki, eggplant, and tirokafteri which came with generous amounts of cut pita (made it super easy for sharing). The eggplant was creamy and garlicky. The tzatziki was refreshing with the cool yogurt and aromatics. The tirokafteri had a spicy salty punch that was delicious on its own, as well as paired with the other two dips in the mix, it had the perfect balance of peppers and feta. Excellent. - Calamari: best calamari I've had in a restaurant. The squid was flavorful, juicy, fresh and just very lightly battered (I don't love heavily battered calamari). Came with two sauces that were addictive and some lemon. Would come back just for this. - Kolokithokeftedes: first time trying these but very good! Crispy on the outside, with a very moist and almost a little sweet filling from the zucchini that is well balanced by a layer of creamy salty cheese underneath. - Branzino: got this for my entree and it had a pretty good portion size! The branzino itself was not as impressive as in other places but was still fairly good. The spinach rice was very yummy. - Lamb chops: exceptional! I tried some from my fiancé. I wish I had ordered this instead. These were tender, not gamey at all, and had the perfect amount of fats to make them feel satisfying but not too heavy. - Dessert platter: great option for a big party! This platter basically comes with almost all the desserts in the menu if you cannot make up your mind. My favorites were the portokalopita which was alike an orange syrupy pound cake, and then the cylinder phyllo filled with custard (I believe called galaktoboureko), it was so flaky and subtly sweet! The baklava was a little too sweet for my taste but also good. We ended our meal with one shot of ouzo which was delicious and went down smoothly into our full and happy bellies. Overall, had a great experience here as a guest of a big dinner party. I cannot speak of the prices or logistics of planning but the team definitely did a fantastic job of catering to us and making sure we all left happy, being attentive of us, making sure all our food came out at the same time. I certainly will be coming back to try more of their dishes and have more of their addictive calamari. Highly recommend them for a large party!

Yelp
TLDR: Authentic greek food, delicious and highly recommended The squid here was so fresh and tasty, it was almost like eating tender chicken. The pita bread with the different spreads were amazing. The hummus and Ziti were full of flavor. Baklava and ice cream were very well done. The service was ok, maybe not as attentive as I would have liked, but the food made up for it.

Yelp
Absolute best Greek food I've ever had. Service was excellent. I would definitely come back. We started with 3 spreads. All tables are served with complimentary bread + hummus, so for our spreads we chose Tirokafteri, Skordalia and Eggplant. Tirokafteri was definitely the favorite! Has a subtle spice. We also got the saganaki cheese, which was also delicious but very heavy and filling. For entrees, we got the swordfish kebabs and lamb chops. Lamb chops were very meaty and cooked perfectly. For dessert you must get BAKLAVA! It was PHENOMENAL. It's so flaky and delicious, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and crushed pistachios. 10/10 recommend. Shout out to our amazing waitress Melanie who definitely made our dining experience top tier. She was super friendly and attentive and gave us solid recommendations. Saturday night was of course busy but she was calm and composed and did a great job! Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. Inside is a bit dimly lit but not too dark. People definitely come here a bit dressed up for dinner (heels, cute dress, etc).

Yelp
The food, drinks, and service were outstanding. From the moment we were seated, our server Antonis was warm, accommodating, and friendly. The interior is stunning, and every dish we tried from the mezze to the snapper, salad,Saganaki Cheese, octopus and bread etc was incredibly fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Highly recommended, and we can't wait to come back!

Morgan P.

Yelp
The service and food was outstanding! Definitely the best Greek food I've ever had. The owner was so kind and gave us free appetizers and dessert because we were a bridal party! The ambiance was perfect. It has mood lighting and we stayed for almost 3 and a half hours. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Yelp
What a great place to go on date night. Elegant with a huge area filled with ambiance. Real authentic Greek cuisine that brought me back to the motherland . The staff was personable and inviting. Go there to treat yourself to something new.

Yelp
I would love to give this restaurant 4 stars because the food was delicious and the service was great. However, the music was so ridiculously loud that we couldn't have a conversation. It wasn't even Greek music...it was loud, thumping club music. We asked the waiter if it could be turned down and it got slightly better for about 20 minutes and then returned to the original volume. Even our kids and their significant others (all in their late 20s) felt that that the music was way too loud. I chose this restaurant because of the great reviews, many of them commenting about the wonderful ambiance. The ambiance last night was definitely not conducive to enjoying a meal. Very disappointed to have spent over $400 on a dinner where we couldn't enjoy each others' company.

Yelp
It's always a great time and quality service whenever I come to here! Definitely try to come early if you don't have a reservation because I always see this place fill up after 6pm sometimes, it's super popular! I came back for their lobster spaghetti dish because it's so good and I got the portion for 2 people to split with my friend. We both loved it and it was saucier than the first time I had it and I loved it! The restaurant is so beautiful and it feels so fancy, definitely a place for date nights and celebrations!!

Meg B.

Yelp
Always have a great time at Anassa. The food is consistently delicious and fresh, the drinks incredible (Jackie O is my fave), and the service top notch. The wait staff is always so on top of everything and so helpful. The space is large and inviting as well--tables not cramped and always a fun atmosphere. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Best in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Made a reservation and came for dinner with a friend. We got a free round of cocktails with Yelp checkin, which was a nice touch! I tried: + Passionista cocktail + Anassa chips + Classic Greek salad + Saganaki cheese + Lobster ravioli Everything was super tasty and portions were great. Would return!

Giselle R.

Yelp
We were running late for our reservation, so I called ahead to let the restaurant know. I didn't want to delay their ability to seat other guests who arrived on time and wanted to be respectful of their schedule. I also asked them not to cancel our reservation, as we were still on our way. The staff was wonderful and made a note of it. When we arrived, I fully expected to wait, which I completely understood, but to my surprise, they had a table ready and seated us immediately. Everyone working was lovely, and their hospitality truly made a difference. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with perfect lighting that created a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The overall aesthetic was beautifully done, adding to the dining experience. For appetizers, we ordered the crab cake and octopus, both of which were absolutely delicious. For our main course, we had the lamb chops with lemon potatoes and the lobster spaghetti, both of which tasted great. The food was fantastic overall, though my only note is that the lobster spaghetti had a lot of pasta but not quite enough lobster, and the lemon potatoes could have had a more pronounced lemon flavor.

Yelp
Came here for brunch after having a horrid experience at another restaurant nearby, and what a wonderful save Anissa was! First off, it was pouring in NYC all day, so the vibe was uplifting inside Anissa. Beautiful decor and ambiance and excellent customer service. Our trio started with a round of drinks. I had the sangria, and it was refreshing and jlnot too sweet. We started with some hummus and warm pita. The hummus was garlicky and smooth while the pita was buttery and warm. It was a very promising start. My dining mates had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and hollandaise. I had the kefte kebab - a ground lamb and beef sausage with tzatziki, pita, and oregano fries. The kebab was flavorful and very filling - the tzatziki was a nice accompaniment. We ended the meal with cappuccinos, baklava, and greek yogurt with brandy cherries and walnuts. The quality of the yogurt was superb. From start to finish, this was a phenomenal meal with a lovely ambiance and delicious food. Bonus for the restroom having a changing table in one of the stalls in the ladies' room! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
It would be criminal to disregard what an exceptional experience and menu and service there is at this venue. The ambience alone evokes some of the highest accolades I personally could afford as far as hospitality. The menu is top notch as is the illustrious service by the wonderful staff and bartenders (please tip them accordingly!). This spot is easily one of my favorites in Astoria and should be a standout in this community for years to come. I'm looking forward to visiting again and again and again...

Yelp
Upscale Greek dining in a great location...lots of indoor seating and additional street side outdoor tables available. No reservation on a Thursday evening for 4 and was sat promptly. Apps came out fresh and hot. All our entrees were delicious. Will come back to impress company

Yelp
The reposado tequila with the blood orange was a 10/10. We had the calamari as an appetizer 8/10. The lobster spaghetti was rather salty and the lobster was chewy. Would I revisit absolutely YES the ambiance was great on a Friday night and my waiter Adonis was GREAT. Super friendly very attentive and exceeded our expectations.

Yelp
I really like this location in Astoria. It's very clean and polished. Let's start off with the bread. Once you were seated, you were greeted with a lovely fresh perhaps sourdough toasted bread with a side of spicy hummus that has a few all is inside. Very delicious. The eggplant zucchini chips are also pretty good. The octopus is excellent. I will definitely be going back for more in the near future.

Yelp
One of my favorite Greek restaurants in Astoria. Everything is wonderful- from their drinks and food to their service and ambiance. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Booked a reservation for a party of 11 through the manager Vaso. Vaso was such a delight to work with. So attentive, thorough, and prompt! She gave us great prefixed options and was able to accommodate various dietary restrictions. She really made this whole process a breeze! The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The food is fresh, flavorful and came out HOT! The drinks were constantly being refilled and poured. They even allowed an outside cake. Our waitress was so kind and helpful as well. She always had a smile on her face. Great feedback from those who attended the dinner which is always a plus. 100% recommend for larger groups or a cute date night!

Yelp

Yelp
Branzino was cold but potatoes were hot. Zucchini fritters were very tasty and hot (temperature). Wish they had more options for dessert. Was a bit noisy but it was a Saturday after all. Restaurant is worth a try if you're in the neighborhood. I did appreciate waiters checking in frequently though.

Yelp
Amazing food, ambiance and service! Went here for my mom's birthday. Moms are usually the hardest to satisfy when it comes to a good plate of food ,being they are chefs themselves at home. This place satisfies every picky mom out there. Their fish was amazing as well as their meat dishes; I appreciate a restaurant that gives a just enough portions. Every dish ordered was delicious as well as the mock tail. For fish I had ordered the Lavraki (Branzino) ; had a herb butter Lemon taste. Our waiter Adonis was consistent and very welcoming. The atmosphere from the music to the staff was a 10/10. Definitely would come back and recommend anyone looking for a beautiful place to enjoy time and good food with the family also very charming for a date night.

Yelp
Returning after a long absence. We drove so parking was just around the corner so it was convenient. Place was very quiet so we had a nice table and food service. Appetizers were the salad and octopus with black eyed peas. Nice but not as good as I remember last time Wine list was reasonable and we have a Greek red - st George. The entrees were the lamb chops and branzino. Both cooked exceptionally well. Chops were a little pricey but generous portioned. I recommend this place.

Yelp
Best Greek Food In Astoria!!! We were invited by our friends who are locals and it was everyone's first time trying them out but it was my first time trying Greek Cuisine. Just wow... the service was out of this world where the water glass never touches the bottom and the food was true Greek cuisine so we were told by our friends. Prices are great for the amount of food you receive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice Greek restaurant only a block away from the Astoria Blvd subway. The place is big with high ceilings and a rustic decoration. The food was great too. We had the saganaki cheese, the Greek Salad, the Branzino, and the octopus. We didn't think the Greek Salad was as good as what we'd had in other places in Astoria. However, the Branzino and octopus were our favorites as they were fresh and were flavorful. The octopus, in particular, comes with a hand of red onions on top, which reminded me of Peruvian ceviche. Our server was kind and courteous and greeted my mom for Mother's Day. Overall, it was a great experience and we'd come back here again.

Yelp
Food is delicious and elegantly prepared. Room for song and dancing. Service is good. Nice place to go for a special occasion.

Yelp
Excellent food, Excellent service! Nice & relaxing atmosphere. They did not rush us out even though we were celebrating two birthday boys.

Yelp
Was able to make a last minute resy for two on a Sunday night around 7pm. When my husband and I walked in, we were immediately struck by the beautiful atmosphere. There were enough people that the place was lively, but not enough that it was super crowded. We got ready to order, and in the meantime, were given complimentary bread drizzled with olive oil, that was just toasted in the oven, and hummus. The complimentary bread was a nice touch and quite yummy! We then ordered a glass of white wine, the trio of dips (which came with pita bread), Greek salad, grilled octopus, sea bass skewers, and shrimp saganaki. Everything was amazing and tasted fresh, but my personal favorites were the Greek salad, grilled octopus, and sea bass skewers. In particular, the sea bass skewers were so tender. Our servers, Danielle and Melissa, were wonderful and attentive. My water glass was also never empty. At the end of our meal, we asked for our check, and while we got our check, they also gave us an orange cake dessert with vanilla ice cream and shots on the house to commemorate our first visit to the restaurant! We definitely will return and look forward to potentially becoming regulars here.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting this lovely restaurant for my friend Bridal Shower. Service was phenomenal. Staff made sure my friend vision was exceeded. The venue accommodate us very well. They made sure to keep the drinks flowing and the food was delicious. Love the calamari appetizer and chicken meal. Dessert was a delicious chocolate cake and also a vanilla cake.. I would definitely visit this restaurant again. Thank you to all the staff who made my fried bridal shower memorable.

Yelp
A very nice place to enjoy a good meal. From the hummus they give you when you enter, to the baklava we had for desert, everything was delicious. We started with drinks - which were good but not cheap, so beware, they add $$$ - and ordered the Greek salad which was mostly tomatoes, but I like tomatoes so it was enjoyable to me. For a main meal, I had the filet mignon shish kabob which was quite tasty. My wife had tortellini which was swimming in sauce, but otherwise good. There was a nice variety of fresh fish which you could pick from a display. The decor was modern and nice. Though the place was loud, it was medium loud. They had music playing too which I didn't think was necessary. Trendy, good looking crowd and there was two hour parking in a lot across the street. Our waiter, Adonis, was super helpful and a great server. Very good staff. Lots of birthday celebrations going on.
google avatar

Kelsey A.

Yelp
Best Greek food I've ever had. The branzino and octopus were my favorite bites of the meal, followed closely by the Greek sausage and the sea bass skewers. The humus is incredible. The eggplant dip was not my favorite, the only let down of the meal. I would skip the mezze and just have more food!
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
Hands down best birthday dinner ever. We ordered the mediterranean spread DELICIOUS, along with the loukaniko and saganaki for appetizers. Main meal was the filet mignon kebab, meat was tender and juicy. The waiting staff along with the manager Dimitri made sure our experience was absolutely top notch. He very attentive and made sure we had everything and more! Thank you Anassa staff for making my 30th bday so special

Yelp
Meh ... I expected more from this taverna . Beautiful place ,very elegant ,modern and sexy vibe , amazing outdoor heaters as well if you dine outside but... the food was extremely disappointing. They use way too much salt , every dish was beyond salty , presentation was basic and onto our unprofessional waiter Giorgo... I'm sure he was trying to be cute but he was extremely out of line . You have one job , I'm not there for the idiotic comments , picking on my brother in law for wearing a mask , making sexual jokes , I mean cmon . Anyways super disappointed, don't really get the great reviews but I'll stick to stamatis next time I want good Greek food .

Yelp
We got the lobster spaghetti for 1 ($42) and the kefte kabob ($19). The meal started with complimentary bread that was freshly toasted and still warm with hummus. Both dishes were good and tasted home-made in a good way. There was plentiful lobster to go with the spaghetti, and we couldn't finish the kefte kabob plate - the 2 logs of meat had the 'ground meat' texture that was chewy and bouncy that I appreciated. It went well with the tzaktiki, and it comes with fries (could afford to be a bit more crispy but freshly hot) and pita bread. Some reviews mention complimentary dessert, but we didn't get it.

Yelp
Nice place to hang out. Food was okay and took forever. Good drinks. Terrible service in my visit.
