Ancestral is awesome! Definitely the place to go in Atlanta for all your “agave” needs (tequila, mezcal, mezonte, raicilla, bacanora, sotol, etc.). Great selection of bottles, many of which are even quite difficult to find in Mexico. Roxana, the owner, is very knowledgeable and happy to educate her customers on all the products she offers. Though some of the bottles may seem pricey, those which I have tried have been worth every penny, especially considering many are super small-batch artisanal products. I would say the prices on bottles of tequila and mezcal that I have also seen at Tower and Total Wine are comparable here, but it feels much better supporting a local small business IMO. Also, you won’t find any celebrity-owned additive-packed tequila brands here, so you oughta know this spot is a gem. Highly recommend you check out Ancestral and bring home a bottle of mezonte for special-occasion sipping!

Such a great find! The owner is so nice and knows their stuff! My father in law found the perfect tequila that he couldn’t find anywhere else. Can’t wait to come back!!

This is hands down my favorite new bottle shop in Atlanta because it is loaded with the BEST Tequila and Mexican spirits. The owner is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She spent a good 15 minutes describing the different Mexican liquors and many Tequila options. We left with two bottles of Tequila and can confirm they are delicious. The space is gorgeous as well, definitely photo worthy. Looking forward to the hosted tastings!! There are a couple of excellent restaurants nearby as well!

We were blown away by the exceptional service. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to provide my fiancé with great recommendations as he’s just starting to get into mezcals. Not only did she suggest some unique bottles, but she also shared insightful tips about each one! We couldn't leave without a bottle and can’t wait to go back for more! It's so refreshing to shop at a small business where the owner truly cares about the customer experience. Highly recommend!

Ancestral is a superb shop, Roxana is thoughtfully crafting the nicest selection of agave spirits between Birmingham and Atlanta (well worth the drive from Birmingham). I dare say competitive with anything this side of Oaxaca and CDMX! I look forward to many future visits!

I visited Ancestral this past weekend after seeing it on Tik Tok, and let me tell you, I was in awe of how beautiful the shop is. The real star of the show is the owner Roxana she is very knowledgeable, professional, and has such a heartwarming personality. We loved talking to her about the products in the store and can't wait to stop by for future tastings!

Stopped in for the first time today and had an incredible visit!!! The owner spent time with us and answered a ton of questions. I’m an avid tequila fan and over the past several years, I’ve learned a lot about agave and the processes involved in crafting tequila. However, today I learned more than I’ve learned so far! I had no idea that Mexico produced a large variety of spirits with different characteristics dependent upon the methods and variety of plants used. We really enjoyed our time there and we were impressed by the beautiful set up of the store and the selections of tequila, mezcal, sotol, and more. Lots gorgeous of handmade glassware, ceramics, bitters, and other accoutrements. Next time I think I’ll buy the sotol with a fascinating distillation secret! Be sure to ask about it when you visit. Ancestral is a magical place filled with stories, rich culture, and a wonderful energy. Can’t wait to return!

One of my favorite shops in town! Not only is it beautiful but as soon as you walk in you feel at home. The owner is so kind and knowledgeable, and not the mention their events are amazing!!!

This is a cute little bottle shop in West Midtown. Decent variety of tequilas, a few wines, and I saw at least one whiskey on the shelf. Went there for a tequila tasting and it did not disappoint! There were at least 7 different tequilas to taste and they each had a very unique flavor profile. Throughout the store there are also a variety of items like drinking glassware, and traditional Mexican crafts. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming which made for an overall good experience.

Simply the best agave shop in Atlanta hands down. No one comes remotely close to the selection of tequila, (Mexican) rum, and most importantly (IMO) the mezcal. Not even close. Roxana is incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. Her selection is impeccable. Please support your local community and buy from this wonderful establishment.
