Yelp
We love Ancestry Brewing.
I have supported this business since 2017. Eaten there at least 35+ times and never had a bad meal. Miss their shrimp panko appetizer as it didn't survive Covid.
The beer is great. My favorite is the Piney IPA. It's probably my most favorite beer ever brewed. Love it so much that I buy about ten cases a year easy. Also, drink at least one, probably two each time we have eaten there.
The purpose of this review is for the poor customer service I received today.
I called Ancestry this morning (8/25/24) @11:45AM. As I have done for over seven years, I called in advance to ensure there was a case of Piney IPA available for purchase. I live about thirty minutes away.
A female employee answered my call. I introduced myself as Bob and asked if there was a case of Piney IPA in stock. She said, "we don't sell by the case as there is no discount on how many you buy." I explained that I have purchased twelve bottles for $54 numerous times. She said we have some in our refrigerator case. I asked, "Can you put a case aside so I can pick it up later this afternoon?" Her response, "We have enough that it "shouldn't" sell out." I was floored. I didn't want to drive there if I wasn't assured I had a case to buy.
There was no way in hell I was going to give Ancestry Brewing a one-star review because they have an employee who lacks customer service skills.
How hard is it to put twelve bottles into a cardboard box, write my name on it, and put in a cooler?
We drove to Sherwood this afternoon and passed Ancestry. We had planned on eating lunch there, but ate at another establishment. I didn't stop either to see "if" there was beer for me to purchase.
As stated, I have followed this process for years. If Vanessa still works there, she knows me well as Piney IPA Bob. She even knows my wife as she has stopped in many times to pick up beer for me. Vanessa has excellent customer service skills.
Wish I was drinking a cold Piney while writing this review
