Yelp
As former Buffalonians, we were anxious to try this Buffalo favorite. We were sorely disappointed. First and foremost, send someone to Buffalo so that you can see what a beef on weck is supposed to be. Hint: it's not salt and caraway seeds on a hamburger bun. Secondly, when you eat Buffalo wings, your hands should be all messy from the sauce . It should not drip off the wings in a puddle on the plate. Thirdly, customer service is everything. We were a party of nine, so I get it, that's a lot of people. Our server was very nice, polite, seemed a bit overwhelmed. Let me add , we were the only group there. A few people at the bar but that's about all. When our food finally came out, it came in drips and draws. I would have started eating my salad but I had no silverware. My son in law got up and retrieved some for me, not sure our server noticed as she had promised to get some. Likewise for my granddaughters who were waiting for their dips and condiments. In her defense, she seemed to be alone and was not assisted by the lady who I presume was the manager. We also ordered a pizza which we all agreed was topped with spaghetti sauce.
As I said before, we were a large group with several different entrees ,pizza and wing selections spread out over a large table , delivered at different times. When we ordered the wings, we specified 40 wings all medium. Before the server left, we asked her if she could make 10 of those wings barbecue. She said, sure. As we were packing up our leftovers, again my son in law retrieved the boxes, we thought we had an awful lot of wings left. When the bill came, we saw that the server ordered an extra 10 barbecue wings, not taking 10 out of the 40 we ordered to barbecue. We brought this to the server's attention and she brought the manager over. We explained the situation to her and she said because we did not bring it to the server's immediate attention, there was nothing she could do. Now, bad on us, if we had any intention on coming back( we don't), we'll make sure and count the wings as they come out. She did end up taking 5.00 off the bill.
So as I said in my opening, overall very disappointed in the food, service and customer service. Let me add, we drove over 40 miles to celebrate Easter with a taste of our home town. Been there , done that, not going back. I see from other reviews, we're not alone. If you need lessons on how to make a weck roll, stop by. I'll be happy to show you.
