Best Things to Eat and Drink at Downtown San Jose’s San Pedro Square Market - Eater SF

"Have a hankering for halibut? The crispy clam strips, scallop linguine, and New England chowder at Anchors will sweep you right out to sea (fittingly, the sign on the back wall instructs guests to “work like a captain, play like a pirate.”) You’ll be tempted to settle for the classic comfort food of fish and chips, but we encourage you to order their lobster roll. A buttery French roll (soft on the inside, toasted on the outside) is loaded with generous chunks of lobster to fulfill your crustacean cravings. And they won’t drown it in mayo so you can still taste the ocean. This roll pairs perfectly with a spicy thatch of Cajun-seasoned fries." - Johanna Harlow

Small stand in the San Pedro Market producing sit-down restaurant quality seafood. Their Cioppino is phenomenal, this fisherman's stew has perfectly cooked PEI mussels, jumbo prawns, scallops all in tomato broth. Served with garlic bread to soak up the broth. The Cheesy Crab bread is a crab feed to go. Garlic butter toasted French bread with a generous portion of crab and Parmesan cheese. Close to where I work, I'll be back!

I have to say that Fish and Chips really good here! I like how the portions of the fish are huge even when the portion of the fries is slightly smaller. Yes it’s $18 but the portions basically made up the cost of the food. The cocktail and tartar sauces taste really good with just the fish but the fries too! The funny thing is that I forgot to squeeze the lemons on the fishes. So literally I squeezed all of its juice on a last bitten piece of a fish lol I probably should try the prawns the next time I come here.

Pretty good food. Fish was large and filling. Clam chowder had a good creamy taste.

Looking for a quick bite we stumbled into the foodie mall much was available and little was wanted. if you have read my reviews I only review places based on there customer service with this said I assumed we would have to wait long Arrived at noon not many people and was quickly greeted by a friendly face. I had the calamari and she had the prawns and fish. Portions were plenty and the prawns were as big as pepe the prawn from the Muppets. but with better taste in talent. The food and service were amazing and the prices were decent I highly recommend

Anchors Fish and Chips may not seem particularly special at first glance, but it has a magnetic pull that keeps drawing me back whenever I'm in San Jose. My favorite dish here is the Lobster Roll, and I think it's perfect. Some might say there's too much mayo, but I believe that's what makes it so juicy. There's still a generous portion of lobster and a fantastic brioche bun, so don't worry about any unusual ingredients. The interior isn't much to speak of since the place is in a food court. However, the food court itself is quite lovely. You can find a great selection of beer at neighboring kiosks and relax in the outdoor area, sometimes even with live music. Absolutely worth a visit if you happen to be nearby!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a line of like 5 people. We ordered scallops linguini, which had good flavor to it. My husband thought it had way too much sauce, but to me it was perfect. I ordered the Alaska salmon deluxe and felt like the salmon needed more flavoring. The rice and vegetables were very good. My son got fish and chips, I felt like they counted how many fries they put. The fish was actually good and crispy. Lastly, the clam chowder was very good. I got a cup and wished I would had gotten a bowl. They validate parking. For the weekend it's $5 for the San Pedro parking garage and with their validation, we paid $0.

Ordered Fish and chips which was recommended to me by the staff working at place. Roughly $20 during lunch. Very little French fries and the fish was 20% and 80% fried batter. Wasn't really that good and the fish was tough. Ordered a side of veggies which was drenched in oil.

Friendly staff to start off, had the basic fish and chips today. Good flavors while the breading was a bit greasy wasn't too much so. Chips were mid, they do have a lot of sea food options so would check if keen.
