Our three-night stay at Ancient Hue Garden House was simply delightful. Although we were initially disappointed to find that the traditional Chinese-style rooms (one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel) were under renovation—and this was not mentioned in advance—the French villa room we were given was beautiful and full of charm. The fresh flowers in the room added a thoughtful touch, and we appreciated the complimentary welcome drinks and afternoon tea.||||Breakfast was served à la carte, freshly prepared, and consistently delicious. We also dined at the hotel’s restaurant twice and found it to be easily the best meals we had in Hue. The quality of the food was high, prices were fair, and the setting was lovely.||||The heart of this hotel is undoubtedly its staff. Everyone we encountered was warm, attentive, and engaging. We genuinely enjoyed chatting with them and even took photos with the restaurant and front desk teams. Special thanks to the manager, who made it a point to greet guests during breakfast—such a nice gesture. This was easily our favorite hotel during our travels in Vietnam.||||One caveat: the massage experience was underwhelming. It felt rushed and was interrupted by construction noise from the ongoing renovations that continued past 5:00 PM. Despite filling out a form indicating where the therapist should focus, they did not follow it. Additionally, it was uncomfortable and inappropriate when the massage therapist asked me to change my rating after the session. The spa did not meet the high standards set by the rest of our stay.
